Paper tray selection for copies won't stay

I'm having problems setting the paper tray for copies. I go into settings on the printer LED screen and select Tray 2 for copies, but it doesn't stick. Since I have envelopes loaded in Tray 1, I'm constantly getting "wrong tray" error messages.

I read your post about the problems you have been having with making copies from Tray 2 in your Officejet 8630, and I would like for you to check out the link below and try the suggestions from @TeK_AcE to see if the steps can help! Try copying from Tray 2 afterwards.

Tray selection for sapscript

I am working on tray selection for an invoice sapscript. It should print in Tray 2 and so I have set Resource Name in Sapscript form to TRY02.
It works in one client and not in another client. Does anyone have an idea why this could be?

Please check thru transaction code SPAD
In SPAD > select the printer>. On the output devicescreen,--> menu selection Goto --> Device Type. This will allow youenter specific PCL code for all Print Controls.
SE71 -> on page layout, --> give a tray name (TRY01) in the resource name to all pages in the sapscript.
But you should know the printer PCL codes (basis can help you on this)

Wrong automatic paper tray selection in HP LaserJet M3035 printer.

I have a printer (this one http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/us/en/sm/WF06b/18972-18972-3328064-12004-3328083-2512333-2512337-3435... ) shared in Active Directory by several users (running Windows XP machines). The thing is that no matter how many times I try to set the source paper tray to a specific one, it seems it doesnt apply/store the changes, and it comes back to Auto tray selection (and it always selects tray #1, which is the one im trying to avoid), causing an issue which needs to be solved by hand.

3. Choose DEFAULT TRAY.

How can I control paper tray selection from within a report?

Hello everybody
I need to print out a report (preferably in the PDF format) in which certain pages need a specific paper. I am therefore looking for a way to control the paper tray on per page basis. It seems hard to do even though there must be thousand of people out there with the same need - or please proof me wrong
I really appreciate any suggestions.

doesn't support it right now. it will figure it out what tray if the paper is a different size but that's about it. you have two options, have two printers or no preprinted stationary. Most companies go with two printers.

Automatic tray selection for printing

When the print out is issued from the SMARTFORM, it should automatically determine the tray for the paper (based on a pre-defined logic):
The trays can be:
Tray 1
Tray 2
Manual Feed
Is this possible in SAP? (version 4.6c)
Is there a dependency on the printer/model

Do you want to define the tray statically?.
Then you can mention the tray at the page level.
Select the page and select 'output options' tab.
There you can mention the tray name with the resource field.
if you want to select the tray dynamically then ,refer the OSS note 367128 and apply the OSS note which is applicable for release 4.6 C.
Implement the program correction. Afterwards, you can also enter a field (for example, ) in field 'Resource'. This field must be defined in a global manner (the type must be RSPORESNAM). You must set the value of this field before you call up the page. That is, you must either supply the value on the first page via the interface or you must set it during the initialization. If you call a page via an explicit page break, you must have set the value before the page break.

Printer Tray Selection in xml-Source

I want to print my AdobeForm only at the Tray1. When there is another Paper in the primary Tray the printer have to print the AdobeForm in Tray1 not in the primary Tray.
Who can tell me whats the source Code. PrinterProtocoll is PCL5e.

JetAdmin 10.2 Report help on paper tray levels.

Im having trouble creating a report of paper tray levels for our estate. I have added the fields to the collection OK and can generate a scheduled report at 7pm ok but unsure on what templates or fields i need.
Printers are all MFP - M9040 and CM6040's. All latest firmwares (jan 12)
I need to create a report that shows printers with a paper tray of "50 sheets or less" or "empty". Empty is most important.
I only need to show asset,device name and location and which trays this affects.
Example
Asset 123456 @ 1st floor west wing, paper tray 4 empty
asset 232322 @ 2nd floor central, paper tray 3 empty.
asset 212111 @ ground floor, paper tray very low / or 50 sheets
Im not sure if the printers can detect number of pages or just "very low".

I have created alerts based on Tray Threshold which is not what i want. These are flowing on a individual basis. I require "snapshots" at scheduled times. Say 1pm and 7pm of paper trays empty. Reason for this is our maintence company will change all the paper at lunchtime that is almost out or empty and our security guards change paper when everyone has gone home. Anything that occurs between these times is down to the users and would be minimal. I cannot be sending engineers out changing paper whenever an alert is raised, hence snapshots of the estate. Please help.

Different copys in different paper trays

I want to print different copys from a page in different paper trays. For example i have a form with 1 page and the page have 3 copys, and each copy, i want to print in a different paper tray. Anyone can help me?

If You go to SPAD for a particular Printer in the in the Tray Info Tab u You can specify the Paper formats thats needs to be attached to every Tray of the Printer from Tray1 to tray4...

Dynamic Tray Selection in Smartforms

Hi all,
I am looking for a solution, to set the tray in a Smartform dynamically.
It is not sufficient to set the Tray statically on the "Output Options" tab -> Ressource Name.
Can anybody help me?!?

Normally, tray selection is done using GET_PRINT_PARAMETER FM.

P3015 won't allow me to manually select paper tray on Mavericks

Selecting 'Default' profile will print from Tray 2. This profile uses AUTO tray selection from the paper feed setup screen.
Attempting to create a new profile cloned from 'Default', but with paper tray 2 explicitly selected results in printer
feeding from tray 1.

PDF auto select paper tray based on paper size

I have a Windows pc only for 1 thing - printing pdfs. My problem is that Windows printer drivers allow me to have auto select paper size/tray depending on if the pdf page is standard or legal. I have not yet found anyway to do this through the mac.
I have a Brother HD-5370 laser printer and need some assistance with the paper auto select. If any one has any suggestions or an actual fix, I am all eras.
I have used Snow Leopard, Leopard as well as 10.4 and the problem is with any pdf viewer I have tried (viewer, adobe reader, other 3rd party which names escape me). The option to auto select printing by pdf page size is selected and the drawers are set correctly. It just won't print how it's supposed to.

This has been an issue for at least 3 years now. I have checked for driver sin the past and have tried to look up answers via Brothers website - all to no solution to my problem. It just may be that Brother's printers do not have this feature. The options do show as valid options though.
The printer is currently connected to a Windows pc located on a different floor. So in order to test, I have to move the printer or the mac.

LaserJet 1320nw: Selecting an alternate paper tray programmatically

My question is more about coding than printer administration, but I thought that I'd begin by asking at this forum.
I'm working on the enhancement of an older client-server app that prints three copies of an invoice on color-coded paper. One of the users would like to keep the multi-colored sheets in the lower paper tray. Other users may run the same invoice listing on other HP LaserJets. If the <Esc> sequence that I send to the printer to select the lower tray is received by a LaserJet printer without a lower tray, what will the printer do?
I've read the PCL 5 Tech Ref, and in the Programming Hints section, HP writes that "if ... commands are not supported by the PCL device, they are ignored." Does that mean that printer will still print from the default tray if there's no alternate tray?

Thanks for your support-- you are correct Epson did not solve my problem. Over time, none of my several printing issues have been solved by Epson . Self-help and Forums have been my best solutions. Once Again I discovered the answer myself. The menu options have been moved around in Leopard compared to Tiger. In "EPSON PrintCD" you now go to Print..., choose Page Setup and unlike Tiger when you choose "US letter" under Paper Size, pulled down to US Letter, there is now a side menu that pops up and allows you to choose US letter(Manual Feed). This takes care of the CD printing problem. Though I haven't tried it as yet, I think that under this new "Paper Size" menu choosing "4x6 ( borderless)" will solve my borderless printing problem!

Show date and time in menu bar won't stay selected

Using 10.6.7 with all updates as of the time I am writing this.
Show date and time in menu bar is unselected and unselectable. When I select it (click it) it will unselect itself. I will see the checkmark for 1/2 a second, but won't stay selected.
I've reparied permissions in the Disk Utility as described by a similar post (on an older version of the OS) with no luck.
At a little bit of a loss. Spending the mandatory 30 minutes with various forms of Google searches with no luck.
Looking for new ideas other than an OS restore.

Hp 4300 all-in-one won't recognize that the paper tray is full; says "no paper" and won't print.

It won't recognize that the paper tray is full. Never happened before.

I totally understand your frustration of not being able to print to wirelessly to your PS 6520. Please take a look at this document and follow the steps listed below whichever MAC OS X you are currently running: No response from printer.
