You have to modify the selfreg_applyuser.jsp file in order to customize your Self Registration Page.
The file can be found in your server under \usr\sap\<instance>\JC00\j2ee\cluster\server0\apps\sap.com\irj\servlet_jsp\irj\root\WEB-INF\portal\portalapps\com.sap.portal.usermanagement.admin

Portal masthead messed up - par file needed

I recently performed a transport of the masthead from
NW7.0 EP SPS13 to NW 7.0 EP SPS14
I was careless enough to have overridden the original com.sap.portal.navigation.masthead on the target system.
Apparently the transport messed up the masthead and now my logoff link would give me a javascript error.
can someone provide me the original SPS14 masthead par file or suggest another solution to fix this.

Need to create PAR files from JSP

Hi,
In my project we are creating portal archives from JSP iviews .
Using NWDS we can easily create par files by going to Enterprise Portal workspace .But in my project we are not using NWDS or any other JSP editor .
Can anybody tell me how to create par files if i am using only notepad to develop my JSP .

Uploading par files in nwds and deploying back

Hi all,
I wanted to work with the masthead iview in nwds, so found it on the server as the par file and imported it into NWDS. Changed the headeriview jsp and deployed it back to the portal. But it is not working. Saw in another sdn thread that when you create the project in nwds, it does not bring up all the components from the par file as required and some class files are missing. I think this is the problem in my case. The solution to it was not given in that thread.
Would anybody help please.

the following are the steps to modify a masthead.
1.Find the PAR file and copied to a temporary directory and renamed to the customer namespace taking off .bak extension.
2.Import the PAR file now using File->import option.
3.make necessary modifications.
4.once the JSP is edited, the PAR file needs to be created ans uploaded to the portal.If JDK is installed just login into portal and deploy the pAR file otherwise use PortalAnywhere to deploy it.
5.Now goto Content Administration->Portal Content->right click the folder you wish to create the mastheadiView.Select New from Portal Archive-?iView from the context menu.Select new masthead.
6. select poratal component Default and choose next.
7.enter the properties for masthead and next.
8.edit the Iview and saved it.
9.add the iView to Framework Page in portal catalog and edit page layout.
10.select iView from catalog and add it as Delta link and position it accordin to your need.
Hope this helps you to modify the masthead.

Unable to find par file in the list in EP 7.0 when i export form NWDS

i upload one par file through NWDS by using export.after that when i going to create one iview from par.in the PAR list my par file is not display.
but the par file is avilable is the PCD.

Hi,
go to System Administration -->Support --> Browse Deployment and browse to the directory ROOT/WEB-INF/deployment/temp
locate the corresponding par file and Download it to your local system. If you observe the file extension, it is "bak", because SAP Portal renames the archives after it deployes the par so that it will not deploy it again. Remove the file extension .bak and rename according to the naming standards of your organization. I would recommend you to use the same naming of the file, remove "sap" and use your own company name, like com.mycompany.portal.navigation.masthead.par.
After this, you can import this par file in NWDS (Netweaver Developer Studio) by selecting File --> Import.
A word of caution, the importing does not import the jar files in the private/lib folder of the project structure. So, copy them manually to the new project you have created.
When you see the project structure, you can find the related file in dist --> PORTAL-INF -->jsp -->
You can change this file according to your needs and deploy it back to the portal.

Renaming PAR file

Hi Gurus,
I need to rename the PAR file.
Situation is like this.
I created a Portal component project(Standalone SDA).That time I give par file name as "test.par".
Then I created abstract portal component. After coding part, I build the application and deployed.
When try to create an iView with portal component, the component is showing "test" (same as I give)
But I want to change that to "com.sap.test".
I tried sevaral methd like changing .dcdef file, changing application name etc..But it didn't worked.
Any one have any idea or faced such problem???

But here the problem is I am doing the dev in NWDI.So accessing console is not possible.
The other thing is after building, it generates sda file. not a par.
Also I tried the same by renaming the par file inside sda and using my local server's
console. But there the deployment failed:

    I am trying to develop a custom DLN par file. I am using various jsp tag libraries to get the list of the nodes but I am unable to produce the tree hierarchy like expansion and collapsing of the trees if there is any child node for the particular node. Please help me out in achieving that.

this is what you will have to code. The Portal taglib only gives you access to the navigation, not to functionality. Normally you will use the taglib to create a list und CSS/Javascript to control what is visible of this list:

      <li>Level C 2</li>
      <li>Level C 3</li>
</li>
</ul>
You can use CSS or Javascript to achieve expand / collapse. On google you can find a lot of examples.

Creating data and .par files using SWIFT Integration Package

I have a requirement to generate a data and .par file using SAP PI Integration package for SWIFT.
I am following the SAP Note: 1303428.
I have created 1 sender and 2 receiver comm channels(one for payload and other for par). Used operation mapping SWIFT_payload_parFile_split in the Interface determination.
I am using the adapter module : localejbs/swift/FileActConversionToSWIFTModule and setting the parameter DetachParameters to true. This adapter module is being used in all the three channels(1 sender and 2 receivers).
I have used ASMA ans has set the FileName checkbox.
Now after placing the file in the input directory, the file with the same name gets created in the output directory but the file is exactly same and also no .par file is getting created. I have set the Empty file handling to Ignore, so it shows that there is no data to create a .par file and only payload file is getting created but the payload file is exactly same.
Also if I use the adapter module : localejbs/swift/FileActConversionToSWIFTModule in only the sender communication channel, a payload file gets created like below.

But while creating the par file, it shows that the file could not be overwritten and so the .par file is not getting created.
I need to understand that:
1) How do I configure both of my receiver channels i.e. what should be the difference. Currently, I am just setting the
same Output directory in both and file name schema * and has used ASMA with FileName parameter. So same name files are getting created and so one file gets discarded. How to create a .par file.
2) Also Is the file above is the correct file required by SWIFT.
3) Also when I check in SXMB_MONI, I can see that after running the adapter module same payload as given above is going in both payload and par files i.e. also if I am using different names in my receiver communication channels two files are getting created payload and par both are having the same payload. So what exactly should get created.

I am able to generate the .par file by setting the localsecurity to true and the KeyId from the key manager.
Now two files are getting created .xml and .par. .xml file which is the payload file is the same as the input file with no difference and contains both the overrides and the data parameters. The .par file contains the Algorithm and the Value.
Is this correct?
Also suppose the input file name is SEPA.xml, then the payload file is created with the name as
SEPA.xml and the par file is created with the name SEPA.xml.par. I need only SEPA.par. How to achieve this.

I have uploaded it into EP and could run it sucessfully.
Now I need to use this par file as a ivew template to host my webdynpro solution is it possible if so how to do it? Basically I downloaded URL Iview par file into nwds and added jsp files as per hover tln menu blog. so i want to use this modified par file to host google page with hover tn menu.

Modifying PAR files that are used in ESS

Hello Experts,
I was asked to modify some iviews used in ESS, that are actually deveoped using NWDS. I was just given two PAR files and was asked to modify the methods for the requirement.
I have imported the PAR files into NWDS but got inot some erros with classpath. the classpath is incomplete so it says a class file is not found. I tried to add rerlated JAR files to resolve the issue. Even after that it says something else is not found. But all these errors are with related JAR files that need to be located to the project library.
Could you let me know what all libraries i need to add to the libraies instead of me adding one by one each time there is an error.

Deploy par file error using NWDS

Hi
I developed a portal service for activity report. After i deploy the service i get an Java Iview Runtime error in portal and our portal is down. I found the error which is a null reference in portal service i wrote.I fixed the problem, but i can't deploy par file using neither NWDS. Is there any other ways to deploy the par file. Please help.

Hi,
To deploy the application, you can without NWDS but not without server running. Server should be up for deploying any application. Go to Drive:\usr\sap\J2E\JCXX\j2ee\cluster\server0\apps\sap.com\irj\servlet_jsp\irj\root\WEB-INF\deployment\pcd
and ..\deployment\temp folders. Delete your project. It will be cleaned from the portal. Now restart the server. It will be up.

Or you can simply use the Restore option of Disk Utility to clone the drive to the backup:
Clone using Restore Option of Disk Utility
Open Disk Utility from the Utilities folder.
Select the destination volume from the left side list.
Click on the Restore tab in the DU main window.
Check the box labeled Erase destination.
Select the destination volume from the left side list and drag it to the Destination entry field.
Select the source volume from the left side list and drag it to the Source entry field.
Double-check you got it right, then click on the Restore button.
Destination means the external backup drive. Source means the internal startup drive.

How to use JSP custom tag lib in PAR file?

I am trying to customize mastheaderpar file. For that I have downloaded relevant par file and making the changes accordingly.
As part of the changes I would require to use JSP custom tag library in my par file.
I have the TLD file and relevant classes in the jar file. I would like to know where and what kind of modifications have to be done to use the jsp custom tag library.
I tried modifying some things in portalapp.xml but was not successful.
Please help me on how to proceed with this? It would be great if you can provide the xml entry to use this tag library

Thanks for the reply. Actually I am able to change colors etc. with out any problem.
My requirement is to use XMLTaglib in mastheader par file. This tag lib is from apache tomcat. I have the relevant TLD and class files. I copied TLD file into taglib dir of portal-inf and class file in src api.
And I have added the following line in portalapp.xml under component-profile section of default
<property name="tlxtag" value="/SERVICE/Newmastheader/taglib/taglibs-xtags.tld">
Is this the right way to use tag lib? Actually before adding this line I used to get the error saying "Error parsing taglib", but now the error does not occur and I am getting new error. This is an exception in one of the taglib classes.
Could any one provide me some inputs on how to check this error?
