Paragraph tags not applied correctly

Hi,
I’m importing an FM document into RH (Technical
Communication Suite). I fixed all the paragraph definitions and the
mappings.
After importing, the same paragraph tags are sometimes
applied correctly and sometimes not. Most problematic are the ones
that come right after a paragraph that has a bullet or number
setting. It seems as though the following paragraph sometimes has a
bullet or number even though you can’t see it.
If I reapply the paragraph tag it doesn’t help, but if
I apply a different one and then the original one I wanted –
it works OK.
Is there a workaround? Am I doing something wrong?

Have you updated lately? I applied RoboHelp patch 7.0.2 and
it fixed may random isses that I was having. Also I would recommend
mapping all numbered and bulleted lists to Normal to have them
appear correctly. Also don't forget to check Convert AutoNumber to
HTML list on the Style Setting window.

Div header tag - not displaying correctly

I thought I had resolved an issue with a div header tag, but - as per a reply in my 'text as gif' thread, possibly not!
The header contains three images; a logo, a banner (text), and a picture of a castle. These should display in a line.
When I first set it up, I realised that the castle picture was normally ending up below the other two on smaller screens etc.
So I changed the dims for my div container from min 760px/max 1260px, to a set width (960px). I then rejigged the three images so the widths were within 960px, with some to spare for the spacing (total widths of the three are 900: hspacing another 20 pixels). There is no padding/borders defined. Therefore the total should be well within the 960 width (?).
It looks fine on my PC (widescreen); in 3 browsers, using the restore down menu command (ie to make it not full screen), and by using the Dreamweaver multiscreen preview (phone, tablet, smaller desktop). It wasn't ideal (as scrolling required), but at least meant the header (and the rest of the screen) displayed correctly, ie in a horizontal line (and then sidebar - content - sidebar).
If I set my container width much smaller, most of the screen will be green (the body) in big screens.
If I rejig the dimensions, it's all a bit hit and miss (and why don't the current dimensions work?).
Do I need to define the width of the header (as well as the container)?

Hi there, I started off using one big image, but it didn't look right with regards to size and placing (ie I wanted the logo on the left edge, the castle on the right edge, etc). When you say slice, what do you mean? One image in from fireworks, and then ... ? Thanks again

If you want to use 3 seperate images start by setting them us as one complete image then slice it into 3 images. Then use the following css to position the images side by side. #header img If the total sum of the width of the images is the same or does not exceed 960px then the images should be in a nice row side by side. They will actually sit side by side without using 'float' but you'll get a small gap between them which will be added to the sum of the width which will exceed 960px causing the third image to drop onto the next line.

FrameMaker Paragraph tags not consistently mapping in RoboHelp

Hello, I have a FrameMaker book, which i have linked to a RoboHelp project. I successfully mapped all the paragraph tags from FM to RH. However, when i compile my help some of my headings do not appear correctly. For example, my Heading 1s have a different appearance from topic to topic. I looked at my FM source files and there are no paragraph or character overrides on any of the affected headings. When I open the topic in RH, i can see that the paragraph symbol at the end of the heading is the correct size, but the text itself is smaller than it should be. I discovered a way to fix this, but it is VERY time consuming. (i.e. In FM, highlight each heading, reapply the paragraph tag, apply the default font character tag) This fix is not a viable option since i have thousands of topics. Any suggestions?

Apparently RH also ignores FM styles that only appear in
tables. Weird. If I add text using the parapgraph styles into the
body of the FM file, the styles are imported by RH (I had to add
text to the pgf for RH to see it). But if the style is not used in
FM anywhere but a table, RH ignores it.
Another show-stopper: Rows in tables are ignored by RH if
multiple conditional tags are applied to the row. For example, a
row is conditionalized with "A' & 'B' and you import the FM
file applying the 'B' condition, the row will not show up in the
table. If the row is only tagged 'B', it will show up. Other
straddled rows that are tagged with a condtion other than the one
used to import into RH will cause misaligned columns in the
table.

TOC Style not applying correctly

I have a basic test InDesign document with a 'Paragraph Style A' applied to a few key headers throughout the document. I created a separate 'Paragraph Style B' for the table of contents to represent instances of Paragraph Style A. Style A is set to 8pt font. Style B is set to 14pt font. When I setup the Table of Contents in the dialog box, I have selected Style A to appear as Style B, but when I actually place the TOC, it's still showing up as Style A. Any ideas as to why?
InDesign CS5 version 7.0

Same problem on two different computers (with the same setup as listed above)

When you say "When I setup the Table of Contents in the dialog box, I have selected Style A to appear as Style B" does that mean that you set "Style B" in the middle section of the dialog box in this format:
Style: Style A
Entry Style: Style B
If you did that, it should work. If it does not, you might try restoring your preferences:

Paragraph tag not included in catalog.

fm11 in win7.
In the document I'm working on, some lines appear to be in a paragraph tag named "RegName". But this "RegName" can not be found in the catalog, ie if I click on the arrow to select the paragrah tag, "Regname" is not included.

Paragraphs with new tags are not automatically added to the Catalog. It's an option when creating one. When pasting in text from another FM document, new tags are not automatically cataloged. For a tag one already in the catalog, doing a Delete Format on it only removes it from the cat. Text containing it is still present and still tagged with the deleted format.
There actually is a command (dialog sequence) that causes every format in use to get added to the cat (and the details of which I don't recall at the moment). Instances of existing catalog formats with overrides get cat entries with new names. Massive catalog pollution results, but it's great if the intent is to clean up overrides and weed out (or adopt) rogues.

3D textures not applying correctly?

I have this problem in After Effects CS5. This never happened in CS4. I've tried to manipulate the 3D image in every way possible, but whenever I import it as a PSD file, it looks like crap. I'm not sure if I'm overlooking something or what the deal is. I've been importing it as an editable composition with Photoshop Live 3D enabled. Any idea? The "Render for Final Output" option in Photoshop no longer exists, to my knowledge. I don't know if it's not rendering correctly or what, but it looks fine in Photoshop. it's when I move it to After Effects that it looks junky.

Okay, more on the matter. In fact after I ran off with my mouth, I must correct myself and apologize. Seems it isn't as busted as I thought and my judgment was premature. Still, there is definitely something going on.
The OpenGL issue seems indeed easily replicable if card support between apps differs. I'm getting weird stuff on a machine with an older card as well.
There is a render Gamma difference between apps.
AE renders textures less crisp.
CS4 3D files are busted in AE CS5 (camera missing)
CS5 3D files open with wrong camera placement in AE CS4.
Well, here's the bummer: Except for the OpenGL issue, none of this explains why it isn't rendering at all in AE CS5, so we're essentially back on square 1. Sorry for having this taken in the wrong direction. I'll try to do better...

vtml_speed tag not functioning correctly in 5.5

A colleague of mine has Captivate 5.5, and when she tries to change the speed using <vtml_speed value="85">, it doesn't work correctly. It just reads the tag itself. It works fine for me in Captivate 5.
I saw that a couple of people mentioned in the Comments section on this blog entry about VTML tags that they were having the same trouble with 5.5. Is anybody else also experiencing this? Is there a fix for it or an alternative way to slow down speech? Thanks!

The Z and B keys are the * and # keys. That is why they are not in the speed dial list. Hmmm... while it might be a "bug" at this time your the only person having this issue as far as I can tell. Since the issue moved to another phone it could be that its related to your Palm Profile. I unfortunately cannot replicate this issue but would like to test something. Can you do a Partial erase on your device and create a new Palm profile? This will see if the issue is still on the device.
If it is not then the issue is within your Palm Profile. If that is the case I can help you from there. Please post back when you tried this step.

JSP Custom tag not working correctly for multiple users

I am doing some support work for an existing web system. When doing single user access (a custom tag is called within the JSP); the output of the Custom tag is fine. However, during multiple user access to the JSP, as I could see on the log files, 2 users access the custom tag at exactly the same time- the output of one of the users was incorrect. The custom tag btw, uses TreeMap, Stringbuffer and does not have a body, only attributes passed to it. It takes an input file and a Hashmap as input attributes and it sets a string in the page context which is later being used in the JSP. No error is logged, its just that the string produced(placed in the page context) is incorrect. This only happens when this tag is called at same time(when multiple users accessing the page) Has anyone encountered this problem? Is there a known pooling/thread problem with custom tags?

now here's the thing: the xml produced by test:applyCustomerSearchValues is resultXml which is used in test:transformXMLString. I got no problem with the output of test:transformXMLString. I am sure that a phone number is being passed into the former as part of the HashMap key-value. However when test:applyCustomerSearchValues is called when 2 users access the jsp, it seems like the the first xml produced does not have the phone number in it - but the other has it. The xml is OK for both users, its just that the values of the HashMap do not seem to be passed correctly into the xml produced.
--- here's the snippet of the log, the first httpWorkerThread-80-6 does not have the phone number, however the second one-httpWorkerThread-80-7 has the phone number. The first one should also have a phone number as in the start of the log, the number was listed, but as the system called the test:applyCustomerSearchValues tag, the number was not included. There are different phone numbers for the 2 users. The odd thing here is, the userID which is the 'LastUpdatedBy' element has been set correctly. The userID is being fetched from a session attribute while the phone number is fetched from a request parameter, both are being placed in the HashMap attribute passed to the custom tag.

ITunes Explicit tag not working correctly

Hello, I have a problem with manually added 'explicit' tag in iTunes. iTunes show tag correctly near the song, but there is no red 'E' label in the ''now playing'' box.
How can I fix this problem?
I tried to re-add a song into the library, it's not helps.
I think, that this is the different tags in the file, how can I check the second tag? Maybe someone have a script to manually add that tag to AAC file?

Same for me. I don't know why that happens. I restarted my Macbook, quit iTunes, and it still did not work.

GPO - Restricts the UI languages Windows should use for the selected user - not applying correctly on RDS 2012 R2

Hi All,
we have a Citrix XenApp 7.5 Farm with Windows Server 2012 R2 Servers and multiple (english, german, italian, spanish, french...) languages installed.
I've created a GPO with settings 'Restricts the UI languages Windows should use for the selected user' to for example 'German'.
Now when a user logs on to the server, the UI language is in german, but when i open Control Panel\Language: There is still English (United States) with Keyboard Layout: US, German.
It seems that the GPO is not changing all settings correctly to german.
Does anybody know what could be wrong?

Based on the description, the policy setting should have been applied successfully. Here, did we logged onto the server via remote desktop services? If yes, what's the keyboard layout on the computer we used to RDP to the server? Before going further,
I assume that this can be caused by Auto detect Remote Keyboard layout feature introduced since Windows Server 2008.

Paragraph Styles not working correctly

Imported a Word Doc. Modified the font type and size. Also modified the indent for each paragraph style (this is a large outline document). Everything changed on screen and in the document. Saved the "Redefine from Selection". The changes however are not saved in paragraph styles. Only the first style changed all parameters. The remaining 6 all retain their original font, size and indent from the original document. Does the list style control this? What am I missing?

Yes and no difference. Turned on all hidden markers. Does not change a thing. Actually changes entire paragraph to style 2 instead of the defined style 4. Both are incorrect as they do not retain what I changed everything to.

p tag not positioned correctly in DW

I am using <h1> for my banner on my site. It has an
image to the left, a background image set to repeat, and a
<p> floated to the right.
When previewing in IE/Firefox the <p> is positioned to
the top-right of <h1>. This is correct, but in DW preview it
is lower down, almost half way inside <h1>.
How can I make it display to the top-right in DW preview?

Since you want some content opposite other content you will
have to use
a 'container'of some sort. That container is most likely to
be a <div>
or a table.

Lockbox Cash app not applying correct

Here is an example of an issue I am having.
On 4/4 check # 15093 (Doc # 140008734 and # 100014472) created one deduction for $3,076.77 and two overpayments ($167.53 and $704.34).
On 4/19 check # 15194 (Doc # 1400010705) was system applied. This application picked up the two overpayments from the prior check ( $167.53 and $ 704.34) and created a deduction in the amount of $428.81. The problem is the deduction should have been for $1,300.68. (428.81 + 167.53 + 704.34). These overpayments that the system picked up did not reference anything on the current check.
Does anyone know why this may be occuring?

I am having the same problem.......Actually it picks up the previous payments (doc type ZS in our case) as payment difference....I don't know of a method to fix this.....but I explained my client that it picks up the previous open payments as payment difference & asks you to enter a text for it because they have made text field mandatory for PK16 (difference payment posting key). I would love to hear from somebody as to why that happens....

Stabilize not applying correction to video?

I am having issues with Stabilize in Motion 5. I have added a couple of trackers and run the analysis and Motion generates the motion vectors on screen. However, when I play back it appears the motion vectors are not being applied to the video - the video shakes just as much as it did before, and you can see the motion tracking overlay still showing the motion vectors. Am I missing something obvious here? How do I actually get Stabilize to stop the shaking?

First of all, I must confess that I have not used Stabilize very much at all. It usually works great with the default: add + analyze (no trackers.) So, I found one of the worst clips I could find and tried out various things with it and I have to admit, ***your problems are EASILY reproduceable***
PLUS, in Motion 5, once you get a bad track you will never get a good one!!! not in the same project no matter how many times you delete and re-add a Stabilize behavior. On that bad test clip I used, I got a good track ONCE. Then I Added (not duplicated) a new copy of the same clip and tried using a tracker. The track is perfect, the playback just moves the entire video around like it's a Match Move on the track. Tried deleting the tracker; Analyze again, and it's stuck with the same movement that went with the tracker. Tried deleting the retiming cache (it's used for Optical flow and other motion things) and nothing. [Meanwhile, rechecking the original perfectly stabilized *same* clip originally imported "new" — still perfectly stabilized — to add insult to injury, if I use the tracker data (that is, if I put the first clip in the drop well) from this clip in the 2nd import clip - the stabilization is exactly the same on the 2nd clip... which is completely pointless if you can't get the "right" stabilization to begin with!] [PS- by "perfectly" I mean it's the best possible stabilization I could hope for: most of the clip was rock solid, but high jitter/jerk areas still had some "blips" in it -- lined up fine -- but a quick re-scale kind of thing -- it was a really bad clip ]
Went into Motion 4. I didn't like the way Stabilize trackers worked for my test, deleted them, re-Analyzed with no tracker: WORKED PERFECTLY. No matter what I did to mess up the stabilization on purpose - I could always delete the trackers and re-Analyze without having to delete and replace the behavior - and start over again like I had just added the behavior. Motion 4 worked like you would expect it to.
So... I would have to say that Stabilize is YET ANOTHER BROKEN SOMETHING IN MOTION 5!
But back to your problem. If you have Motion 4, use it to stabilize your video, export (as prores) and import into your Motion 5 project. If you don't have Motion 4... Open a brand new project; import your clip; Add Stabilize (NO TRACKERS); cross your fingers. If you get a good stabilization, export it out for future use.
By all means, let Apple know of this problem via the Provide Motion Feedback menu item under Motion.
Your specific questions: I would say if you have Motion 4, you could use the tracking region in that way, but I tried it in M5 and the Region is also a tracker and that will mess up the stabilization. If you only have M5, create a new project, import your clip, add the levels and adjust it for a "bit" more detail, add the Stabilize and Analyze only. You basically get one shot to get it right... per project per clip (maybe that's pushing it). Even in Motion 4, if the clip is in pretty bad shape, Stabilize does its best to get "most" of the clip right— so you may have to opt trimming out pieces that won't stabilize as well [in my experience, most often, that will be at the beginning and the end when you make contact with the camera to both start and stop recording, or to zoom.] You might also consider trimming the ends of the clip a bit beforehand as well because, no matter how you line up the clilp in the timeline, Motion analyzes the *entire clip*, no matter what!
Anybody else notice the lack of a Motion 5.0.2 update when FCPX 10.0.2 came out?? I'm still waiting. Every day I check— at least 3 times. M5 must be really badly damaged to be taking this long (and I have found A LOT of problems with it... most of which won't affect the average user... but stil!)

Characteristic relationship with Exit class is not applied correctly

We are using a characteristic relationship (with derivation) type Exit class. For that we have created class ZCL_RSPLS_ARTICLE_FROM_PLMOD as a copy of the standard class CL_RSPLS_CR_EXIT_BASE.
Target and source characteristics are members of the aggregation level.
We want to generate a list of valid combinations of characteristics planning models and articles which should be planned in the planning query.
For that we are using the method IF_RSPLS_CR_METHODS~CREATE:
Source is characteristic Model ZMATMOD and we determine in the exit class all active articles ZMATART.
We get a list of active (planning relevant) models and articles in our exit class (table e_th_chas).
--> For instance 6 combinations
Until here everything works fine.
The problem is that in the query 8 combinations are displayed.
We have no idea why more than the generated combinations are displayed.
One reason could be that the characteristic article ZMATART is an attribute from characteristic model ZMATMOD.
So from a master data point of view 8 combinations would be relevant.
But we use the exit class in order to reduce the number of combinations to planning relevant items.
If we use the method IF_RSPLS_CR_METHODS~CHECK we could flag the 2 combinations which are not planning relevant to not valid.
But these are then displayed in the query. 6 combinations in change mode; 2 combinations in display mode. This would not help us.
We would like to see only the planning relevant combinations  6 combinations
Can anyone please help me urgently?

Hi,
set a break-point in the factory method get_instance to check whether the class is called. In the planning modeler make sure that you use an external break-point.
Or use rsrt an change a cell value: Derivation is called in the delta buffer to derive from the fields contained in the aggregation level. So check also that the source fields are contained in the aggregation level or can be derived via a a chain of derivations.
Also make sure that all source fields have to be non-initial. The system will not call derivation for initial source fields since in this case there is not unique target, cf. http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/43/1c3d0f31b70701e10000000a422035/frameset.htm
