Parallax Scrolling and Browser Magnification

This is probably an unresolvable issue at this point, but it seems one of the BIG drawbacks to using Parallax Scrolling is that it only works as planned if the user of the site is viewing it at 100% Magnification.  Any change up or down in magnification results in a different set of parameters for final motion, and if you're using it hoping that the final location of the moving object aligns with another fixed object in the overall design in some fashion, you're in for a big disappointment, and an embarrassing result if you're a designer.  I'm hoping that there is some way in the future that the writers of this code will please include whatever math is necessary to compensate for changing browser magnification.

I realised the problem that i was having...thanks so much. I will explain for the help of others. Avoid putting the anchor in a "Composition" element. This i did inadvertantly since i had many layers. If you put it in one of them the smoothe scrolling will not work. This possibly holds true for grouped objects. I will also post the site to show that i have finally gotten it working. Thanks Zak and all the parties that showed kindness in answering me.
Best regards

    You can apply opacity to images or define key position for slideshow so that with page scroll the opacity changes and will bring the similar effect.

  • Parallax Scrolling and HiDPI in Adobe MUSE

    Hi all,
    I have a small problem. I've upgraded to the latest version of Adobe Muse and enabled on my latest project the HiDPI feature. I've now found that when I replace the pictures linked to my parallax scrolling effect, the pictures are not the correct size anymore. They shrink in size and start to tile. I even tried to use a super-size the pictures and still nothing. Is this a known issue?? Is there are way around it or is there something I'm missing and need to change.
    Many thanks,
    Thomas

    Hi Zak, There is nothing on the page yet expect a small .svg logo, two 100% width rectangles beneath the browser bottom guide, two anchors and a widget from MuseResource.com for magnetic scrolling between anchors.

  • Parallax scrolling opacity feature causing jitteryness

    Hi there,
    First of all, the update is great.
    I have been trying to use the opacity feature in parallax scrolling and have found that it causes an issue with my site.  When scrolling through the page - even in sections that dont use parallax scrolling - the site jitters/flashes in and out of picture and also messes up the menu bar formatting.  Is anyone else having this issue?
    The site works fine with standard parallax scrolling, its only when the opacity feature is added that the issues crop up.  Its not the end of the world but I was looking forward to incoorporating the opacity feature.
    I cant attach pictures of the jitters but I can show the menu formatting mess up.

    Hi Jonathan,
    I know you posted a little while ago, but I just wanted to post in here and let you know that I've actually created a widget that will allow you to change the rotation of a parallax item as you scroll. You can check out more info on the Widgets.Mu site, and see the demo site for it to check out all it can do.
    At this point, opacity changes during scroll motion is supported natively by Muse, but I figured I'd let you know about the filling in of the rotation gap as well.
    Hopefully this helps,
    Thanks,

  • Make a parallax scrolling object disappear?

    I've been messing around with parallax scrolling and I'm at a point where I want to make the scrolling object disappear. So far the only way to make it vanish is to let it scroll off the edge of the page by default or to adjust the Opacity Scroll Effect to make it "fade". However, I'd like to have the object give the illusion that it's going inside/behind a stationary object on the page. The only thing I can think of is defining a viewport or something of the sort, but I don't know if that's possible in Muse. Anybody have any suggestions to create this illusion?

    Hi
    Using fading effect is the correct approach to the purpose you are after disappearing an object with scroll.
    Regarding the illusion that you want to create will be somewhat manual , where you have to use 2 identical scroll items . One starts scrolling normal as you have mentioned above and then disappears , other one starts scrolling on behind the page object on same time when previous identical object has disappeared. A bit tricky but you will have to specify the key position of both identical items such as way that one fades in and another fades out. This way it would be exact same effect.
    You can give it a try.
    Thanks,

  • Using parallax scrolling on a browser fill shape?

    Hi everyone,
    Is it possible to apply parallax scrolling onto a shape that is extended to horizontally fill up the browser? I'm creating a single page scroll website and a want a shape to cover up a certain fraction of the bottom of the browser (I can't use pin because then the shape will move with the bottom of the browser depending on the size of the window.) Parallax works fine on the shape until I extend it to the browser borders and then parallax grays out. Will this be supported in a future update? Is there another way for me to achieve this effect? Thanks!

    From Muse Release Notes - http://helpx.adobe.com/muse/release-note/adobe-muse-release-notes.html.
    Note Scroll Motion Effects are not available for 100% browser width objects, pinned objects, items that are inline within text, items within a group or items within a widget.
    You would also find a similar note in the information tooltip for Scroll Motion under the Effects panel in the Control strip. Please feel free to submit it as a feature request in our Ideas section.

  • Parallax Scrolls differently on diff browser widths

    I spent lots of time setting up scrolling. (Select "Menu" to see scroll) And it works great when I preview in Browser. BUT  the black bar doesn't line up properly (as it is in the screenshot) if the width of the browser is different. Is it possible for the black bar and menu text align like this on different size browser widths?

    Sorry, I realized I forgot to post a thank you for your quick response. I implemented your solution straight away. It worked perfectly, and helped me understand parallax scrolling a bit more.
    The Muse forum is awesome! You and other staff are so quick to post replies. This really helps mitigate the frustration that occurs when you are on a deadline and have a glitch you can't work out. I hope you'll send a link to this post to your manager, so they can be reminded of what a great job you and the other Muse forum team are doing!
    Alas, I wish there were staff experts regularly helping folks in the Edge forum. I feel we've been forgotten there... :-(

  • Parallax Scrolling from top view (bird view)/ resizing and blank spots

    Hello : )
    I was thinking this was going to be easy but some problems occurred
    Currently Im trying to make a parallax scrolling road while seeing it from above, but there are some issues going on.
    the 1st one is that somehow after the second image is gone out of the stage , there are a few blan pixels that are not filled .... and it seems that the speed of the moving is == to the pixels that aren't filled up.
    And i think , just asume  that if i test this on like different screen sizes - lets say this is for a phone - ill get some issues with the scaleX and Y and it will get quite ugly and cubic.
    I did surch for an example or a tutorial but there are only in a X direction like if you see the car from a side view like this
    http://hub.tutsplus.com/tutorials/add-depth-to-your-game-with-parallax-scrolling--active-2 134
    the SWF file  si here
    http://www.stouchgames.com/APKs/Road.swf
    so the current code i have is
    package  {
              import flash.display.MovieClip;
              import flash.events.Event;
              public class MainClass_road extends MovieClip {
                        protected var _road:road = new road();
                        protected var _road2:road2 = new road2();
                        public function MainClass_road() {
                                  _road.x = stage.stageWidth/2
                                  _road.y = stage.stageHeight - _road.height
                                  addChild(_road)
                                  _road2.x = stage.stageWidth/2
                                  _road2.y = y - _road2.height
                                  _road2.alpha = 1
                                  addChild(_road2)
                                  addEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME, everyFrame)
                        protected function everyFrame(ev:Event):void{
                                  _road.y +=8
                                  if(_road.y > 400){
                                            trace("zzzz")
                                            _road.y = y - _road2.height
                                  moveBackground2()
                        protected function moveBackground2(){
                                  _road2.y +=8
                                  if(_road2.y > 400){
                                            _road2.y = y - _road2.height
    and the FLA is here
    http://www.stouchgames.com/APKs/Road.fla

    is there a way to do this only with only as3 code and not by this way :
    if the road high graphics are 400 pixels and the stage has 400 height
    1.creating the original _road and setting it`s Y to 0
    2.go in the same movieClip (of the _road) copy and paste the same graphics but at Y = -400
    and then adding the code
                   var speed = 4
                   var _road:road = new road();
                   _road.x = stage.stageWidth/2
                                  _road.y = y
                                  addChild(_road)
                   addEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME, everyFrame)
    function everyFrame(ev:Event):void{
                   _road.y += speed
                   if(_road.y > 400 ){
                       trace("zzzz")
                       _road.y = y
    cause it seems (for me )that if i do it with code only - there is a blank spot which amount is the speed in the EveryFrame function
    and if no ... can i make it smoother without changing the framerate above 30

  • Parallax scrolling problem since updating to Muse 7.1 and republishing my site

    Hi.
    I recently updated my Muse application to Version 7.1, made a few text changes to my site and republished my site, since I did this the following happens:
    The parallax scrolling feature i have on my template moves the background images slowly to the right as you scroll for top to bottom.
    I don't want it to do this, is this a bug in the 7.1 build of Muse of is there something I can do to stop this happening?
    Also, the first background image you see when you land on the site seems to have repositioned itself within the frame to a different part of the image when published, see here the actual Muse document page, which is how it should look:
    To see how it now looks 'live' see the link below...
    www.jumatwo.com
    any help resolving this would be much appeciated.
    Thank You.

    We had this where I work on ~200 machines.
    We are still going around manually clicking the sharing>remote management tickboxes off and on as this fixes it.
    It seems the GUI is not reflecting what is behind the scenes.

  • Image box with opacity gradients, and other parallax scrolling inhancements

    First i want to say great job Muse Team, this is starting to get really interesting:
    I've been playing around with parallax scrolling over gradients for effect,   but i'm dreaming about fading in full screen fields of texture.   without the weight of massive .png
    1)      I would love to see the Background Image folder persist in the rectangle Fill > Gradient menu, with the options to tile etc.
    2)     This feature along with speed and rotation controls for anchor finding, would really crack this thing wide open for me.
    could be implemented with 2 lines coming off anchors:
    one line straight down that can be rotated like a hand on a clock, to set the landing orientation.
    and the second a diagonal line (thinking photoshop curves), to set the approach speed.
    Maybe holding shift with the hand tool could rotate the design page, though i have no idea what rotation would do to the exhisting scrolling menu, i guess ill leave implementation to you!
    3)     One last tweak, the option to remove scroll bars entirely from the page properties menu would be nice, but intil then i found this bit of code for the bleeding edge:
    Insert as HTML to hide the horizontal scrollbar:
    <style>
    html,body{
    overflow-x:hidden;
    </style>
    thanks for your time

    Be sure your images are stacked properly in the order you need them in your Layers panel.
    If that doesn't solve your problem please provide a link or screenshots so we can see your problem.

  • Flash and Browser scroll

    Hi,
    I want a background MC, height [20], width [screen-width],
    yposition bottom of the Browser window.
    When the visitor scrolls up or down the Browser, this
    background clip should always stay on its fixed yposition, at the
    bottom of the Browser.
    So on Scroll it would permanently update its yposition.
    Is this possible?
    Thank you for your help.

  • ATV is scrolling and playing music on Mac whilst generally browsing main ATV menu screen

    When I am scrolling through the main ATV screen( up down left right) it is jumping to my iMac iTunes and playing and scrolling through my music library. It is also adjusting the volume on the mac as I scroll up and down. This is frustrating and annoying as I scroll and all can hear is music from the mac playing through internal speakers and changing tracks as I scroll left,right etc, volume up and down as I scroll. How can I stop this. I only wish to do this when I actually choose to go into my library form the ATV menu, not whilst I am browsing generally.
    I believe I have third gen. (Newly purchased) and new to ATV.

  • Discover New Parallax Scrolling with Adobe Muse CC | Creative Cloud for Design | Adobe TV

    Terry White, Adobe worldwide evangelist, shows how Adobe Muse CC lets you create stunning effects with just a few clicks. Make images and elements move in different directions at different speeds when scrolling — all without writing code.

    There has to be a way to create a Re: Discover New Parallax Scrolling with Adobe Muse CC | Creative Cloud for Design | Adobe TV slideshow that fills browser width. It's not a problem for desktop, but it is a problem for laptops/tablets/phones.
    How did the site in the tutorial do it? Terry said it was created in Muse.
    Here is a test site that I've been working on - I would love to make it responsive w/o having to create separate tablet/phone sites:

  • Parallax Scrolling vertically not working right

    My muse parallax scrolling page will not scroll vertically down the center.  WHen I preview it, the page shifts to the left then scrolls down.  What am I doing worng? Im using Adobe Muse CC.

    Are you getting a scrollbar at the bottom of your browser when your browser is maximized? If yes, there is likely some content (not visible perhaps) placed bit to far to the right on the page.
    Look for the same in Muse in Design View and get rid of the same.
    Share a link to the page with this effect to check if you can't locate the element causing the shift.
    Cheers,
