Parallax View after 7.1 and Moving Icons

I think my favourite change for iOS 7.1 is the ability to switch parallax view (or perspective zoom) off when setting a wallpaper without having to switch of all animations which!
However, i have noticed that even with it switched off, there still seems to be an effect which makes the icons seem to move when you move the phone around. The only way to stop this is to switch on "reduce motion" in the accessibility menu.  This seems odd as why would i want the effect of icons moving as I move the phone?  Admitadly the movement is very slight but still noticeable but I would like it to stop without me having to switch off all the animations (which run nice and quickly now by the way).
Anyone else have this problem or does anyone know a way to resolve it?
Thanks
Paul

I also noticed this. Dont have an alternative solution. Thanks for the tip.

  • After installing Cooliris and moving icon from Tab Mix Plus Cooliris will not "launch" ; how can I rectify this problem?

On another computer was causing FF to run sporadic , I believe. I have now installed on a Mac but icon is in b&w and will not launch when clicked.

If it's slow on startup it would be extensions loading or LaunchDaemons starting up.
You should have a look in:
    /Library/LaunchDaemons
    /Library/Extensions
You can count out anything in your home folder and it shouldn't put anything in /System as that's reserved for Apple.

  • I get a re-play effect in my footage after re-synching and moving footage around!!!

On the Timeline I moved some footage around and re-synched some sound and image, now when I play back in some parts of the film I see repeats of shots that are not there (like a re-play effect) and a few jitters? any ideas will be much appreciated. If it's a FCP 7 question, you need the Final Cut Studio forum. The way they rearranged the forums with the introduction of FCP X has people confused what forum to post to.

I have a 100% repro crashing bug in Premier Elements 10. No known workaround.

I caution other's reading Steve's reply. There's a lot of misinformation in it. I do appreciate his good intentions and this is a learning opportunity.
It is not necessary that the external drive be formatted NTFS. PE supports fat32 drives with no documented limitations. In addition, the video being on the external drive does not cause problems with the other 15+ video clips that I am using. I doubt it is the variable; the thing different which prompts PE to crash. In addition, Adobe documents no restriction on the use of FAT32 on external drives in their official documentation at http://www.adobe.com/products/premiere-elements/tech-specs.html. If there is a limitation, then that is a failure on Adobe's part to document as such.
PE can use many resolutions of media as assets. Still image like JPGs as well as video can be various sizes. PE for many versions allows you to scale them larger and smaller. I can find no documentation which states that customers are limited to a resolution as you provide. I remind you that there is more in the world of video than 640x480.
I'm complete accurate in my 640x424 @ 24fps information. PE is able to import it, apply effects, and render it with no difficulties. There is no limitation documented at http://help.adobe.com/en_US/premiereelements/using/WS300DE01D-F057-4639-96D1-F99EEE163C24. html. If there is a limitation, then that is a failure by Adobe. They should not import the file and they should documentation the limitation. It is only a specific transition between two specific clips. I suspect it is a test case they didn't test and therefore didn't find the crashing bug.
720x576 DV is the correct setting. 640x480 is a completely improper aspect ratio and no one should choose that for a project like mine. Again, there is more to the world than 640x480. PAL is the european standard for video (not NTSC which you are limiting your answers to). The standard for PAL DV widescreen is 720x576. I am PAL. This is exactly what I need to have. And the exact project settings that I choose.
Sony XDCam does not work in Premier Elements. I know that and also documented that in my answers above. The video was transcoded into DV. Compliant, editable, DV which is clearly supported by PE. And that perfectly matches the project settings which I choose: PAL DV widescreen.
I am not going to run test cases in 640x480. That would be sillly. That's not the project, the footage, nor the goal.
I do appreciate your intentions. Really. But you provided a great deal of misinformation which could mislead less experienced people than I.

  • Column headers and data are mismatched in Data tab of views after move col.

    Hi,
Currently, I am using Windows XP, SQL Developer Version 1.2.1 Build Main 32.13.
    Java platform 1.5.0_06
    Oracle IDE 1.2.1.3213
I'm having trouble with display of data from views in the "Data" tab of SQL Developer. If I move a column left or right of its original place, the data no longer line up with the proper column heading. The data are in the correct order, but the column headers are out of whack. Also, in the Single Record View, the data and column headers are mismatched.
Refreshing the view, closing the view, closing and reopening SQL Developer do not "reset" the view so that the data and proper column headers are lined up. Even dropping and recreating the view does not force SQL Developer to use the proper data-column header match.
Just to be clear, the data within the view is fine. It is the display of the data-column headers in the "Data" tab of SQL Developer (and the single record view) that is wrong. The mismatch seems to occur after a column is moved in the view.
Is this a bug? I like the ability to move columns around within the display of the view. However, much more important that the column headers and data line up correctly.
    Thanks,
    Morgan

Thanks much. I found the correct file, deleted it, and the column headers and data match up again.
I found the correct file by searching the directory for one of the column names that occurs in the view (though I had to find both instances of "COLUMN_NAME" and "COLUMN NAME" (without the underscore)). Not sure why there were files with both versions.
Do you know if there is any way to prevent those XXXXXXXXXTableSettings.xml files from writing all together (oracle.javatools.controls.nicetable.NiceTablePersistentSettings)? I looked through the SQL Developer preferences but nothing jumped out as being the setting to switch off.
Should I be doing anything in particular to bring more attention to this potential bug so it might get fixed in a future release?
    Thanks again,
    Morgan

  • I couldn't find the "Reload Page" icon and went to "Customize" found it and moved it to the top tool bar but when I clicked "Done" it dissapeared. It won't stay visible. How can I keep it there for my use?

I have V6 of Firefox and never had to worry about the "Reload Page" icon before so when I upgraded to V6 I was sorry to see that it was gone. Also the "Page Back" arrow isn't lit up and won't work. I have to go to the history and go back using that.. what happened to the back arrow? Now there are 2 clicks instead of one?
I went to the "customize Toolbar" and moved the "reload Page" icon back to the top and it disappeared when I was done. How can I keep the "Reload Page" visible and useful?

You see the orange (on Linux gray) Firefox button if the Menu Bar is hidden (View > Toolbars > Customize or right-click a toolbar).<br />
If you need to access the hidden Menu bar then press F10 or hold down the Alt key to make the Menu Bar appear temporarily.<br />
You only see the Bookmarks menu button if the Menu bar is hidden.

How to Perform an Archive and Install
An Archive and Install will NOT erase your hard drive, but you must have sufficient free space for a second OS X installation which could be from 3-9 GBs depending upon the version of OS X and selected installation options. The free space requirement is over and above normal free space requirements which should be at least 6-10 GBs. Read all the linked references carefully before proceeding.
    1. Be sure to use Disk Utility first to repair the disk before performing the Archive and Install.
Repairing the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Installer menu (Utilities menu for Tiger, Leopard or Snow Leopard.) After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer. Now restart normally.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
    2. Do not proceed with an Archive and Install if DU reports errors it cannot fix. In that case use Disk Warrior and/or TechTool Pro to repair the hard drive. If neither can repair the drive, then you will have to erase the drive and reinstall from scratch.
    3. Boot from your OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When you reach the screen to select a destination drive click once on the destination drive then click on the Option button. Select the Archive and Install option. You have an option to preserve users and network preferences. Only select this option if you are sure you have no corrupted files in your user accounts. Otherwise leave this option unchecked. Click on the OK button and continue with the OS X Installation.
    4. Upon completion of the Archive and Install you will have a Previous System Folder in the root directory. You should retain the PSF until you are sure you do not need to manually transfer any items from the PSF to your newly installed system.
    5. After moving any items you want to keep from the PSF you should delete it. You can back it up if you prefer, but you must delete it from the hard drive.
    6. You can now download a Combo Updater directly from Apple's download site to update your new system to the desired version as well as install any security or other updates. You can also do this using Software Update.

  • View original media after clicking on video clip icon?

    Hello
Does anyone know if it's possible to change the FCS configuration so that I can view the original media after clicking on video clip icon? Normally this opens proxy files but I would like to change the default behavior.
    thanks
    sj

I don't know if you change the behavior by default.
    But you can for example
    1. Right click the asset and select View - Original Media
    2. Click and drag the asset on top of the Quicktime icon, If the device you're Original Media is located is configure for Edit-In-Place.
    Hope this helps.

  • Application folder defaults back to icon view after restart

When I view the application folder after a restart or start up the view is the icon view. In the finder I change it to list view, and restart the system and the view will revert back to the icon view every time. I have tried repairing file permissions then changing views, and I have deleted the .DS_store file in the applications folder and changed the view. Meanwhile after a system restart the app. folder view always reverts to the icon view. This seems to be the only folder that acts this way. I would like the default view of the app folder to always be the list view. How can I accomplish this? Thanks for your help.
    MacBook   Mac OS X (10.4.9)

This happens because you do not have permission to modify the invisible file that stores the folder settings, and when you delete it, a new one is created that inherits the folder permissions.
Open Terminal and paste this command:
    sudo chmod 666 /Applications/.DS_Store;sudo chown $USER /Applications/.DS_Store
With that done, now set the window view and it should be persistent.

  • Imported cd generates 3 identical icons in album  view. First icon has 10 songs. Second icon has 1 song, and third icon has 1 song,  How do I combine the three identical icons in album view.

When I import a cd, itunes generates three album icons.  The first icon, in album view, has a picture of the cd and 10 of the 12 songs on the cd.  The second album icon has no picture of the cd, but a picture of two eighth notes tied together, and has one of the songs from the cd on it.  Same thing with the third album icon.  No pic of cd, but the two notes, (musical notation) and it also has only one song from the cd on it. (different from icon 2.)
I would like to know how I can combine all three icons into one icon.

Same thing happens to me. It happens also when I add to library from HD. I've already checked all info and couldn't find anything different that could justify this behavior. The funny thing is that sometimes (sometimes, only) I just delete the tunes (removing from iTunes AND moving files to trash), add the files again and everythig is ok.
I've noticed, also, that using TuneUp Media may, sometimes, solve this issue. I just drag the albuns to TuneUp Clean area and issue solved...
I just can't understand why this is happening...
I also use iMac (late 2009) with Mountain Lion (10.8.2)

a best practice to is to never have any computer program (including iPhoto) delete the photos from the card but to import the photos and keep them and then after at least one successful backup cycle has completed and then reformat the card --  I use three very large (32 GB) cards in rotation so I do not reformat for typically a year or more giving me one more long term backup of my photos
Back up your iPhoto library, Depress and hold the option (alt) and command keys and launch iPhoto - rebuild your iPhoto library database
