Parallel currency 2nd local currency issue

Good morning everyone,
I am handling and issue wherein I am finding a difference in the FS10N GL line items.
Background-
1. Doc currency, 1st local currency and 2nd Local currency are the same i.e USD.
2. When I see any GL account in FS10N I dont see any issues but for the GR/IR GLs.
It was seen when F.19 was run while analysing GR/IR clearing accounts.
I have 3 GLs that I am investifgating-
GR/IR exp offset oth- P& L type
GR/IR -analysis adj - Other  -B/S type
Vendor control -Other - P& L type
All the above mentioned are GR/IR relevant accounts.
Need help On?-  Inspite of the Doc currency, 1st local and 2nd local currency being USD; the 2nd local currency shows a different value for some line items.
Although Doc and 1st local currency are always same.
Please assist.
Thanks & regards

Hi Madhu,
I did not yet close the Defect but had to raise a query with SAP about the same.
I do not really know the symptoms of your issue yet.
What I have done is -I got the Business run F.13 for all old uncleared stock for all previous years that do not make sense to be still available uncleared in the system.
Then get the open items identified by the Business so that we can decide if we can clear the unclearable open items that we encounter after running F.13 and use MR11 this time but with careful selection and approval.
Once the available open items are in manageable numbers the performance of F.19 will increase.
Also, you may think about implementing 2 notes after checking if they are already there in your system via transaction SNOTE-
1058971 and 1233775.
If you still have queries upon this, do let me know and I shall try to cater better understanding upon the same.
Thanks & regards
Dilip Raja

  • Change in 2nd Local Currency (Hard Currency 40)

    Hello,
    We have maintained 2nd local Currency as Hard currency 40, we want to
    remove that, we have removed and tested (in test client) don't see any
    issue with that.
    We can switch off/on on 2nd local currency (hard currency) at any point
    of time.
    Before doing the changes in production system we want to make sure that there will be no other impact.
    If you have done before can you please suggest on this.
    Thanks
    Prakash

    Group currency is unique at client level, i.e. this is same for all company codes.
    go to scc4
    Check the currency of your client.
    This currency comes by default for group currency and you can't give as your own.
    If you have any requirement, then you can give it as third local currency.
    Also remember third local currency you have to maintain at first country level.

  • Avoid posting of realized exchange rate differences in 2nd local currency

    Dear SAP fans,
    The situation here in our company is that a company code is set up with NZD as 1st and EUR as 2nd local currency (currency type 30 "Group currency" for EC-CS consolidation).
    Therefore, all postings (and balances) are also translated and saved in EUR (with the current exchange rate).
    We now have an open item managed G/L account for prepaid expenses, which is used to collect postings which are then cleared later. It's however no payable/receivable account for vendors/customers. Therefore, it doesn't make sense to post realized exchange rate differences when clearing this account. This is however what SAP wants to do when we try to clear it.
    For example, if I post today 100 NZD and two months later again 100 NZD to this account. If the NZD vs. EUR exchange rate changed in the meantime, then SAP won't let me clear this account without posting realized exchange rate differences, which makes however no sense.
    Does anyone of you meet this problem before? Could you please give me a hint?
    I thought about setting the "Only balances in local currency" indicator in the G/L account master but this helps only for differences between local and document currency (and not for differences in 1st and 2nd local currency).
    Any help is highly appreciated!
    Thanks and best regards,
    Peter

    Dear Padma,
    Thanks for your answer. The customizing activities you mentioned are already set up in the system. This is not our problem.
    The problem is however, that we don't want SAP to post automatically realized exchange rate differences between 1st and 2nd local currency as this doesn't make sense in this business case.
    It's about an open item managed G/L account which is used to collect posting which are later cleared. It's not a payable/receivable account for customers/vendors where the posting of realized exchange rate differences makes sense.
    We've thought about several solution which unfortunately all didn't help us:
    - Don't setup realized exchange rate differences accounts or set them up only for group currency (in OB09)
    - Set indicator "Only balances in local currency" in G/L master data
    Best regards,
    Peter

  • Why we should give currency type 30 in 2nd local currency ?

    Hi,
    why we should give currency type 30  2nd local currency in Define Currencies of Leading Ledger. Here 30 indicates EUR only. I want to give USD as 2nd local currency.

  • Can't create 2nd local currency

    I would like to add 2nd local currency of leading currency.
    But the system show the error message as below.
    The currency type for an additional local currency cannot be changed for company code , since documents were already posted in this company code.
    What can I do that I can add 2nd local currency of leading currency?

    Hi,
    You cant change the the second local currency once you start the production entry in the system. i.e. if transaction data exist in the system it is not possible to change it.
    If that is must for you then contact SAP for that. as it is required to updated the old document which are already posted in the system will 2 local currency

  • Doc. currency vs local currency diff in parked document

    Hi Team,
    i was parked a document with document currency USD, but the local currency is CAD.
    when i opened the parked document, document in USD currency showing debit and credits are matching woth zero balance, but when i clicked on local currency the document is showing 0.03 difference.
    any suggestions(i used 4.5 version)
    thanks,
    Ravi

    Hi, Ravi:
    In F-63, there is a checkbox "Only transfer amnts in document curr. invoice", it is used as followings:
    If we sets this indicator it translates the doc. currency into local currency at the time of parked document.
    If we not set this indicator it translates the doc. currency into local currency when posting of document.
    Eg: We are parking a document with doc. currency in USD @40
    the next day we are posted that document then it is @42-
    the system takes the exchange rate from the header which was specified in the parked document @40- only.
    If we not set this indicator it will take at the time of posting of document @42-
    Hope it will help.

  • In Journal can i specify the Foreign currency  and local currency amount?

    In Journal Entry can i specify the Foreign currency amount and local currency amount?
    I tried the following code it is working fine using DIAPI.
    Here the Local currency and the System currency is SGD. And the Journal is for USD.
    oJnl.Lines.FCDebit = 120.10
    oJnl.Lines.FCCredit = 0
    oJnl.Lines.FCCurrency = "USD"
    oJnl.Lines.Debit = 120.10
    oJnl.Lines.Credit = 0
    oJnl.Lines.Add()
    oJnl.Lines.FCDebit = 0
    oJnl.Lines.FCCredit = 120.10
    oJnl.Lines.FCCurrency = "USD"
    oJnl.Lines.Debit = 0
    oJnl.Lines.Credit = 120.10
    oJnl.Add()
    But, the above way of doing is not working if i pass this Journal through B1.
    B1 is not allowing to change the local currency amount, Local currency amount is automatically calculated based on the FC amount and the Exchange rate.
    So Can i use the DIAPI to do this? is this right to do?

    Solved.
    In Journal Entry window, please kindly go to Form Settings/Document/
    Table tab page/ Convert Amounts According to Rate upon Exit:
    Clear the checkboxes 'From LC Field' & 'From FC Field', then the Local
    currency amount will not be automatically calculated based on the FC
    amount and the Exchange rate.

  • Invoice in foreign currency: Different local currencies issue

    Hi there,
    We have two company codes 1000 & 2000 and we have a business requirement that Company Code 1000 needs to make purchases on behalf of company code 2000 using a cost object (cost center 20001234) under company code 2000.
    Company Code 1000 – local currency USD
    Company Code 2000 – local currency CAD and currency of cost center 20001234 is CAD. (We are using ECC 5.0)
    We are running into an issue (Different local currencies USD CAD) when we try to post the vendor invoice in foreign currency. This error happens only when a GR (goods receipt) and IR (invoice receipt) being done on different dates, and the exchange rate changed between these dates.
    Any help / pointers will be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Ravi,
    I have already configured purchase price variance account but still an error appears: "Inconsistent in FICO document: difference in first local currency".
    Please take note the PO is charge to an asset account and usually any exchange rate difference should be charge to same account which is an asset account right? If the result of the difference is positive the systems allows the difference posting to the asset account but if the difference is a negative value above error appear.
    Please assist me on this issue; any help would be highly appreciated.

    My question is why this Transaction currency is different from local currecny.
    How to rectify this .
    Are they  missing any exchnage rate conversion .
    Thanks in Advance .
    are they  missing any exchnage rate conversion .

    Hi Dan Sullivan
    Thanks for the quick reply .
    One more question .
    I see in the BCS  T Curency as Euro and Local currency as Euro .
    but the period values localy currency is different from Transaction currency .
    I think the values should be the same if both T Currecny and Local Currency is same .
    I also observed that this particular difference is happening only for 2 particular set of accounts . Those accounts are related to Intercompany related G L Accounts values .
    I also observed that in the Break down category for these G L Accounts The break down structure category has defined as defaulted .
    I would like to know what would be the cause for the above .
    Thanks in Advance .

  • F110 proposal (Open items include document currency and Local Currency)

    Hi All,
    I have a vendor for which there are 20 open items, out of which there are credit memo's as well as vendor invoices. Vendor is a Newzealand vendor.
    Invoices details are given below:
    1) some of the credit memo's have Amount in NZD and the corresponding Amount in LC (Local currency, in our case USD)
    2) some of the credit memo's have Amount in USD only.
    3) some of the Invoices have Amount in NZD and the corresponding Amount in LC (Local currency, in our case USD)
    4) some of the Invoices have Amount in USD only.
    When user ran a F110 proposal for this vendor and we are trying to pay in USD, all the open items went into exceptions.
    In the proposal the amount for the document, it gives the amount which are in NZD (Or the document currency amount).
    Please let me know how to proceed without having these invoices into exceptions and to pay these invoices in USD.
    Thanks
    Rajanikanth

    we have cancelled all the documents and re-entered in USD and paid in USD.
    Thanks

  • Document Currency vs Local Currency in Purchase Order document

    Hi Guru
    User have created PO with foreign currency in EUR (Local currency = USD) and release strategic is completed in this PO.
    Then, buyer increased exchange rate and fix the exchange rate at PO header. The PO net value in EUR still remain the same, system still trigger release strategic reset and manager need to re-approve and set release strategic as completed.
    Can you tell me how to check this setting in SPRO? Is it a natural behavoir in SAP system? User asked if this option could be disabled as increase exchange rate but then the whole PO total net value still remain the same in foreign currency. Why should release strategic reset?
    Please advise

    Closing this Thread as I found the answer
    Within the Purchase Order, when the new TOTAL NET ORDER VALUE is higher than the old one, release strategy will be triggered once release charateristic is set for checking rule
    System will check through The total net order value which is linked to CEKKO-GNETW for a purchase order.
    In purchase order, the currency conversion will act as below:
    Purchasing documents: Header currency converted to company code currency.
    Company currency converted to characteristic currency
    Hence, eventhough the exchange rate is increased but document currency is remained unchanged, the company code currency is increased and hence trigger release strategy.

  • Company code currency vs local currency

    Hi all,
    Can anybody give me some suggestions on how to handle the requirement below?
    Business case:
    The legal company code is based in US and the company code currency is USD.  There is a branch office(cost center) in China and the employees' salary has to be paid in Chinese RMB.(The pay check has to be in RMB) What is the solution for this? Do we have to create dummy company code with company code currency of RMB? We are trying reduce the usage of dummy company codes, any alternatives?
    Thank you in advance.
    Nancy

    Hello Nancy,
    not sure if this is what you are looking for but it may help:
    You can set up "Group currency" concept to archive the requirement.
    For the China branch, set up company code with local currency RMB, group
    currency RMB. For US branch, set up company code with local currency
    USD, group currency RMB.
    Group currency has to be preset per client at trx.SCC4. Trx.OB22 is
    to assign the group currency for company code.
    With this approach, it is possible to do;
    reporting in RMB for UK company code
    reporting in USD for US company code
    reporting in RMB (group currency) for both company codes

  • OBY6 no forex clearing in local currency when LC2 used also

    Hi folks,
    I know this is a long shot that anyone can help but here goes..
    Our site has local currency BOB and an additional local currency (local currency 2) USD.
    So we usually get 2 local currency amounts in documents, a BOB amount and a USD amount.
    When clearing in local currency BOB we are getting a lot of exchange rate difference postings for documents that are in foreign currency. We want to stop the exchange rate difference postings when we clear in local currency BOB, as it is not necessary to post a difference for clearing.
    The setting in OBY6 for this is tick box "no forex rate diff. when clearing LC"
    However even when this is ticked in OBY6 I STILL get the gain/loss exchange rate postings when for example a EUR document is cleared using the local currency amount in BOB. I am sure I have seen this setting work before, but not with an additional LC2. Maybe the LC2 being USD means that this setting can no longer work? We are on 4.7.
    Thanks all

    Got an answer from SAP on this issue
    Please be informed that
    OBY6 "no forex rate diff. when clearing in LC": please regard the
    documenatition. The flag is only relevant for the local currency (= 1st
    local currency). In your case the 2nd local currency is concerned. That
    is the reason exchange rate difference items were generated for hard
    currency.
    So if you use a second currency forget using the OBY6 setting, you have to 'disregard the documentation'. You can never stop the exchange rate difference posting because either LC or LC2 will find a difference if the rate differs on clearing.

  • GR/IR account difference for posting in second local currency

    Hello SAP Gurus,
    We have set up additional local currency in OB22 (Currency type 30, rate type M, Translation on the basis of "Transaction Currency", date type: 3). We have set up exchange rates in Tr. code: OB08 and using GR based IR.Now:
    1. Create a account assigned PO (with Goods receipt)  in foreign Currency say EUR 500. Local currency and additional local currency are same say AUD. Exchange Rate for PO is .0.61120  EUR = 1 AUD.
    2. Did MiGO with Rate .0.62220 = 1AUD system posted folllowing  Entries:
    TC= Transaction Currency, LC= Local Currency, LC2= Additional Local Currency
    Dr EXpense A/C  500 (TC=EUR)     803.60(LC=AUD)         803.60 (LC2=AUD)
    Cr GR/IR Clg A/C  500 (TC=EUR)     803.60(LC=AUD)         803.60 (LC2=AUD)
    3. Did MIRO with rate: 0.61550 EUR= 1AUD system is posting following entries (WRONG)
    Cr  Vendor A/C      500 (TC=EUR)    812.35 (LC2=AUD)         812.35 (LC2=AUD)
    Dr  GR/IR Clg A/C  500 (TC=EUR)     803.60(LC=AUD)         812.35 (LC2=AUD)
    Dr  Expense A/C    0   (TC=EUR)         8.75 (LC=AUD)              *0.00(LC2=AUD)*
    What I think it must do is keep GR/IR clearing AC same for both local currency and LC2  and post difference to original expense account in local and LC2 currency.
    It use to work perfectly but seems something gone wrong recently in system(with some OSS note or something else) that seems to have cause this issue.
    Any knowledge/experience sharing will be highly appreciated.
    Cheers
    Chandra
