Parallel operations in Routing

Dear All,
is it possible that we can have two parallel operations in the routing.
scenario is: ona production line every thing is same except one operation i.e, melting where there are two furnaces 1 and 2. 50 % of the material melts through furnace 1 and remaining 50 % through furnace 2. so how can we cater this in routing.

  • How to create parallel operation in Routing

    Dear Sir,
We have 4 operation involved  in manufacturing a component . The operation 10,20, 30,and 40 .   Operation 20 & 30 can go in parallel and rest are in a sequential manner .
After going thru SDN , I followed the following steps :
      a) Created operation 10, 20 and 40
      b) in CA02 , clicked on Sequence and created a new sequence with parallel operation option selected . Here I mentioned branching operation as 10 and return operation 40 .
      c) Created operation 30 , under the parallel sequence option operation page .
My problem is that now in CA02 , I am not able to see all operation 10,20,30,40 together .  The planning dept require that all operation should reflect together and there itself he should be able to know that  operation 20,30 will be in parallel and rest in sequencial .
Moreover by selecting on "Operation Graphic" icon , again we are not able to see all operation 10,20,30,40 as per the given relationship .
    Kindly help us please.

    Srinivas,
i think you are looking at an option were in you can confirm or do goods Issue for the order. If that was the requirement, then the control is in customizing transaction "OPK4".
Here in this transaction you need to define "operation sequence is not checked" for the plant/order type combination.
Hope this helps....Please let me know if your need is something else,

  • Difference between parallel sequence and parallel operation in a routing.

    Hi Experts,
Can any one explain me with example the difference between parallel sequence and parallel operation in a routing? wHEN CAN WE USE PARALLEL OPEARTION AND PARALLEL SEQUNCE WITH COMPONENT ALLOCATION.
    Regards
    Deepak sharma

I think u need to modify ur quest... i think u r asking about Parallel sequence and alternate seq. Below are the details from SAP site.
A parallel sequence enables you to process several operations at the same time.
You use an alternative sequence for example, if
--The production flow is different for certain lot-size ranges
For instance you can machine a work piece on conventional machine or on NC machines. A NC machine has a longer set-up time than a conventional machine. However the machining costs are considerably less. Therefore whether you use NC machines will depend on the lot size.
---The production flow changes under certain business conditions.
For instance, if you have a capacity problem, you have some production steps performed externally by a vendor.

  • Scheduling of Parallel Sequence in Routing & Production Order

    Hello Friends,
I have gone through sap library & many other threads related to maintaining & scheduling of parallel sequence in Routing as well as Production Order.
    For the example, I have 3 operations : 0010,0020 & 0030.
I want to maintain 0020 & 0030 as Parallel Operations ( Parallel Sequence) i.e. for both operations I have maintained same lead times so that both should start & end at same time parallely.
First of all, I have maintained all operations in standard sequence 0 all 0010,0020 & 0030 operations and also maintained tick in Required splitting check box.
Same way , I have maintained operations 0020 & 0030 in Parallel sequence with branching operation as 0020 & Return operation as 0030. Ref. sequence i have maintained as 0 (Std. Sequence).
Now when I am checking in Graphic it is not showing both operation 0020 & 0030 as parallely scheduled and hence same is not reflected in Production ORder as well.
Kindly share your valuable views reg. what may be other settings for parallel sequence which I may be missing.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Tejas

    Hi Abhijt,
Thanks for your reply. I went through your thread & I followed same steps as mentioned by you in your suggested threads.
I have removed Parallel sequence fully & maintained Required Overlapping for all my 3 operations : 0010,0020 & 0030
I have maintained workcenters as below :
    0010 A  Set up 2.0 Hrs   Machine 5.0 Hrs   Labour 1.0 Hr
    0020 B  Set up 2.0 Hrs   Machine 5.0 Hrs   Labour 1.0 Hr
    0030 A  Set up 2.0 Hrs   Machine 5.0 Hrs   Labour 1.0 Hr
I checked scheduling in routing itself same way you suggested with start date today's date & forward scheduling it gives following results :
    0010 start time 07:00:00
    0020 start time 07:13:42
    0030 start time 09:14:39
My concern is with mainly start time of operations 0010 & 0020 since for both of these are processed on different workcenters A & B respectively then why not starting exactly on same time on 07:00:00 AM only instead another operation is starting on 07:13:42AM. I am unable to find how this difference of 13mins 42 seconds is coming.
Kindly provide your feedback. Also let me know if you need any more details.

  • Parallel sequence in routing

    Hi all,
I have defined a parallel sequence in routing linked to standard sequence. i.e. 0
Stand. seq. has one operation 0010 (work center L1)
Parallel sequence has 3 operations 10, 20 and 30. I am trying to make 10 (work center L4) and 20( WC L5) as parallel operations.
I have 2 quesries regarding this.
    1. I am putting branch operation as 10 and return operation as 20 but I am getting error,
'The return operation is not defined'
    2. I want this sequence to get selected in production order automatically in as operations but system ia selecting main seq i.e. with operation with WC = L1.
Let me know if I am missing something, concept wise or setting wise.
    Regards,
    Yogesh

    Hi,
    Your first question:
You cannot have return operation as 20, as you standard sequence has only operation 10. So your branch operation and return operation has to be 10.
    Your Second Question:
In the production order go to Sequence overview (Shift+F8) to select the sequence and then go to Operation Overview (F5) to look into the details of the operation.
    Regards

  • WIP or scrap calculation for parallel operation sequences not possible

    hi,
i want to calculate wip and scrap along with parallel sequence
system prompts following mesage any suggetions plz send in higher priority
    Message no. KV161
    Diagnosis
If the routing specifies a sequence of operations that are defined as a parallel sequence, this will have the following effects:
The system cannot interpret the confirmed scrap quantities in cumulative and periodic settlement when it calculates the scrap.
The system cannot calculate work in process at target costs for this order because it does not recognize the relevant operations.
    Procedure
If you want to calculate scrap or WIP, do not define parallel sequences.
                                                                                vishnu

    Hi Robert
Though I am seeing this msg for the 1st time - I can give you a some insight into this
It seems you are in product cost by period (PCP) scenario ... In this scenario, WIP is calculated at target cost.... The mechanism of calculating WIP is Confirmed Qty at preceeding operation - Confirmed Qty of next operation..
In your case, since you have parallel operations in your routing, system wont be able to calculate WIP... I am not sure how parallel ops are defined... You need to get in touch with your PP guy....
But, one thing for sure , with parallel ops you wont be able to calculate WIP in PCP scenario

  • Issue with parallel operation of SAP NW SSO 2.0 and SNC Client Encryption (Logon Groups)

    Hi!
One of our customers is using the SNC Client Encryption solution to ensure encryption using SNC (based on Kerberos Technology) for their SAP GUI Dialog connections. They have lots of SAP backends DEV, QAS, PRD all with the SNC Client Encryption SNC Lib installed. The profile parameter snc/identity/as contains the following value: p:CN=SAP/<ServiceAccount>@<DOMAIN>.
    Example: p:CN=SAP/[email protected]
The customer is using one AD Service Account "SNCServiceUser" with one registered SPN "SAP/SNCServiceUser" for all systems (yes, this is not recommended... but the case).
Important: All users use group entries in the SAP Logon (saplogin.ini). Means, for SAP logon the SNC name can not be manually configured on the SAP Front End. With group logons, the application server's SNC name is dynamically requested by the message server each time a SAP GUI connection is started. The SNC Name is greyed out in this case as dynamically obtained from the applications servers profile parameter snc/identity/as.
Now our customer implements SAP NetWeaver Single Sign-On 2.0 within his landscape. Based on the Secure Login Server 2.0 (SP3) he likes to use X.509 based authentication to his AS ABAP backends using SAP GUI SNC while others still use SNC Client Encryption.
Replacing the SNC Library on the AS ABAP
The Secure Login Library 2.0 (SP3) has been installed on one of the ABAP systems and the SNC Client Encryption SNC Library (which is based on SSO 1.0) is no longer used, thus we changed the parameter snc/gssapi_lib to point to the new SNC library. We removed the old PSE.ZIP containing the keytab and created the new SAPSNCSKERB.PSE incl. the keytab and proper credentials. To ensure parallel operation, we kept the snc/identity/as value as is =  p:CN=SAP/[email protected].
After restarting the system with initialized Secure Login Library 2.0, still the SNC client encryption works fine for existing users.
    The problem
We created on the Secure Login Server an SNC certificate for the AS ABAP which has the following X.509 Distinguised Name Fomat: CN=SAP/[email protected] This is to avoid having to change the snc/identity/as to an "real" X.509 DN which would lead to non-working SNC Client Encryption for all the other users using SAP GUI and logon groups.
As soon as we install the PSE via STRUST on the system the SNC Client Encryption solution stops working with error „Server refuses kerberos key exchange“.
As part of an pilot implementation we have installed Secure Login Client 2.0 (SP3) on some test PCs. The test PC with SLC is able to perform Single Sign-On with SNC based on X.509 (incl. Encryption) to the ABAP system.
Seems the SAP System now only tries to do X.509 based authentication thus key exchange fails. The problem is, we cannot change the snc/identity/as value because of the logon groups. If we were able to do so, we would in any case set the server identity to X.509 DN and in addition create the SAPSNCSKERB.PSE incl. keytab. This should work, as confirmed by SAP see this post.
Any ideas how to solve this and have both solutions in parallel?
    Appreciate any help.
    Regards,
    Carsten

    Hi all,
we was able to fix the issue. It was an issue with the customers cluster configuration and the  $SECUDIR variable. This tricky issue leads to non working or sporadic working SNC Client Encryption...
This was how the configuration looks before:
    Environment variable $SECUDIR is defined:
    "/ABCDEF<SID>/usr/sap/<SID>/DVEBMGSxx/sec“
    sapgenpse seclogin -l -v
    running seclogin with USER="<SID>adm"
    Credentials for username '<SID>adm':
    0 (LPS:OFF):
             (LPS:OFF): /ABCDEF<SID>/usr/sap/<SID>/DVEBMGSxx/sec/SAPSNCSKERB.pse
    1 (LPS:OFF):
             (LPS:OFF): /usr/sap/<SID>/DVEBMGSxx/sec/SAPSNCS.pse
After changing the $SECUDIR to "/usr/sap/<SID>/DVEBMGSxx/sec“ and re-creating the credentials, it worked like a charm.
As a result of this we can confirm, this configuration and SNC Client Encryption works with CommonCryptoLib in parallel to the SSO configuration.
And Valerie was right with 2. SLC starting from V. 1.0 SP2 PL3 was able to convert the CN= part of the SNC Name into an SPN, was my mistake. In addition SNC Client Encryption starting from Version 1 SP1 PL1 does this also.. just to make this clear
Thread closed hope this helps someone

  • Operations in Routing

Can I have two operations in routing? In one operation operation number can be 10 for other it is 20.For operation 10 i hv to show consumption of sfg & for operation 20 i hv to show production of FG.i will confirm by co11n first for operation 10 & then for 20.Is it right?for automatically good recipt for operation 20 which control key will be used & at the time of confirmation it will show movement type 101.Plz reply.

    Dear ,
    Find belwo the answer :
Can I have two operations in routing?
Yes .You can have .For operation 10 -Please assing the Control Key PP01.You can assing the same in Work centre Default tab so that it will be automatically picked up in Operation 10 .In Co11n , You can confirm the same .
For operation 20 which u  hv to show production of FG-Assing the Cpntrol Key PP03-Auto Good recipet Active  so that in CO12 /CO11N , you can keep the Operation Number 20 -Final Confirmation -Hit the Good Movement tab -Check the Movement Type 101 ,Storage Loaction -either Raw or FG as per your business requirement and then Save .
However , you can use Back Flash opetion for SFG in FG production order .For that you need to have the below set up :
Backflash can done based on the following set up :
1.In material master MRP2 view of the item , Backflash field should be kept -1-Alaways back Flash
2.In work Center where the routing operations are done , -Goto-Basic Data View -Back Flash Indicator -to be marked .
3.In routing Componenet Alocation -Item Line -Back Flash Indicator to be ticked once assinged to a particualr operation .
Priority will be always Work centre even you keep the Material master MRP2 view kept always back flash .
Hope this will solve your problem

  • Parallel operations downgraded to serial - impact on resource ?

I am troubleshootiung a system and have noticed that 90% of parallel operations are being downgraded to serial.
I would like to know what impact this would have on the machine resources (CPU, IO etc).
Is the downgrade decision simply made in the optimizer with little overhead, or is the downgrade of parallel operations having a significant impact on machine resources?

The downgrade itself is probably a good thing from a system-level. At the requested degree of parallelism, Oracle would probably be overwhelming the system. Whether the downgrade is a good thing for the processes requesting parallel operations, though, is potentially another matter. If you have some processeses that really require parallel operations, they may be taking longer than necessary, which may have ripple effects (i.e. batch processes exceeding their allotted window). On the other hand, you may have a bunch of procsses that have no business requesting parallel operations trying to run in parallel.

  • Parallel operations downgraded to serial

    Hello,
I really like the information about parallel processing
    SQL> select name, value from v$sysstat where name like 'Parallel%';
    NAME VALUE
    Parallel operations not downgraded 1621
Parallel operations downgraded to serial 1310
Parallel operations downgraded 75 to 99 pct 136
Parallel operations downgraded 50 to 75 pct 79
Parallel operations downgraded 25 to 50 pct 141
Parallel operations downgraded 1 to 25 pct 114
Can anybody advise me how to figure out which SQL statements cause the downgrades to serial and what time they to happen?
    We are on 10g.
    Thanks for your appriciated help
    Brigitte

    hi,
you can not see directly as I know. you should query V$PX_Session view and look for degree and req_degree fields. degree is actual degree, req_degree is requested degree. but you can use this view just only when the parallel query is currently running.

  • Does Oracle R12 support Parallel Operations functionality

The example is more like the following:
I have a job J1 with qty 5 made up of pieces x,y,z and operations 10,20,30,40,50.
Piece X must be marked at operation 10, this cycle time is 1 shift
Piece Y must be cut at operation 20, cycle time is 1/2 shift
Piece Z must be washed at operation 30, cycle time is 1/2 shift
Pieces x, y and z all come together to be assembled at operation 40
The way oracle is currently set up, pieces x,y,z all have to go to operation 10 and then they have to go to operation 20 and then 30, which amounts to 2 shifts. While the quantity is at operation 10, pieces y and z are just sitting there and I'm not working on them and hence wasting time. I can't just move a quantity from 10 to 40 because I haven't completed operations 20 and 30 to pieces y and z which I need for 40. If I had parallel operations, I could do 10, 20 and 30 all at the same time and reduce my overall cycle time to 1 shift (the length of the longest operation).

    Hello rthome,
that is a good news for me. Can you provide a "how to" guide about XE's AQ access via AQxmlServlet. I am interested in:
    1. On which Application Server AQxmlServlet was tested?
    2. Where can I get missing jars that are not shipped with Oracle XE? (ORACLE_HOME/JDBC/LIB/nls_charset12.jar, ORACLE_HOME/lib/http_client.jar, ORACLE_HOME/oc4j/j2ee/home/lib/javax-ssl-1_2.jar, ORACLE_HOME/lib/servlet.jar, ORACLE_HOME/lib/xmlparserv2.jar, ORACLE_HOME/lib/xsu12.jar, etc.)
    3. Which JDK, JDeveloper versions where you using?
    Can you visit my topic:

  • Branch operation and return operation for routing in alternative sequence

    Hi all experts.
I would like to ask which table and field store the value of branch operation and return operation for routing in the alternative sequence. I can only find them in structure (PLFLD-VORNR1 and PLFLD-VORNR2) but I want the table field of them. Would anyone please suggest a solution? Thank you.

    Hi,
look in table AFFL, here the BKNT1 and BKNT2 refer to those vornr1 and vornr2 of the operation. For example in user-exit ZXCO1U01 you will find the values (BKNT1/2) in the sequence table, and when, for example, filling the LOIPRO01-Idoc, you can use the found VORNR for the E1AFFLL-segment.
See coding for example on determining VORNR1/2 (sequence_table/operation_table as in user exit EXIT_SAPLCOBT_001):
    SORT operation_table BY vornr.
      LOOP AT sequence_table INTO l_sequence.
        MOVE-CORRESPONDING l_sequence TO l_affl.
    * Read the operation table to determine the vornr1 and vornr2
*via the value of field BKNT1/2
        IF NOT l_sequence-bknt1 IS INITIAL.
          READ TABLE operation_table INTO l_operation
          WITH KEY aufpl = l_sequence-aufpl
                   aplzl = l_sequence-bknt1.
          IF sy-subrc = 0.
            l_affl-vornr1 = l_operation-vornr.
          ENDIF.
        ENDIF.
        IF NOT l_sequence-bknt2 IS INITIAL.
          READ TABLE operation_table INTO l_operation
          WITH KEY aufpl = l_sequence-aufpl
                   aplzl = l_sequence-bknt2.
          IF sy-subrc = 0.
            l_affl-vornr2 = l_operation-vornr.
          ENDIF.
        ENDIF.

  • CA02: Delete Operation from Routing

    Hello,
My question is: how can i delete an operation from routing, like in CA02, but using FM or BAPI and avoiding Batch Input?
Right now it's done with Batch input, but when there is more than one routing per material it crashes, due to extra screens.
    Thanks in advance...

    Dear,
if you have created operation through CA01 then
Go to CA02-- Select your operation and then header manu Edit--Delete or use (Shift+F2) and save it.
If in CO01 production order then in operation details screen and select your operation and delete it.
    Please try and come back.
