Hi!
I changed my mind and I would like to use some of your devices to connect my ISM transceiver to the PC.
The interfaces I need are:
-An SPI that works as slave (my device is an SPI master, it generates its own clock signal)
-6 GPIO
I saw that you have the USB8451 but it works alwasy as a master, so i think i can not use it...
Thank you so much!!

  • HP Laserjet 6MP fails to print with parallel-to-USB converter cable

I have a LaserJet 6 MP parallel printer which I was using in 10.3.9 with a parallel-to-USB converter cable. The Printer Utility saw it natively as a USB device and it printed just fine most of the time, although it would occasionally fail to print, so I installed a different driver called usbtb 1.0.15, and after that it printed very reliably.
Now I've upgraded to 10.4.9, and the Printer Utility still detects the HP printer natively as a USB device, and I also installed the formerly-reliable usbtb driver again, but the printer now fails to print with either driver. It acts like it's going to, but then it quits.
When I choose Print, all the features of the printer are shown, and I can select which tray to take paper from etc., and the printer dialogue box says "Printing," the activity light on the printer flashes just as it always does when printing is in progress, but then, instead of printing, the activity light stops flashing and the print job disappears from the dialogue box.
Can anyone tell my why this printer is failing to print now, and how I might be able to get it working again?
    Thanks,
    Tom

Wait a minute! It's only certain Indesign documents that won't print.
    All TextEdit docs will print.
I created a few scribbles in Photoshop and they print.
But with InDesign, there is no predicting which documents will print or will not print. On some that will not print, if I remove all but one text box, then they will print. On other documents that do print, if I copy some text off of one that won't print and paste it in, then that one stops printing too.
On some that won't print, if I erase everything on the page and create a new text box and type a few words into it, the page will print. If I revert to the previously saved version, once again the page won't print.
What kind of craziness is this, anyway? It seems random. I can't figure it out.
Even on the documents that won't print, when I try to print them the printer's activity light blinks as though it is just about to print, but then the light goes out without printing.
Anybody got any ideas what this problem is and how to fix it?
All I know is that EVERYTHING printed before I upgraded from 10.3.9 to 10.4.9.

  • SPI Converter Selection

    Hi All,
We are developing an application in LabVIEW to test the DUT through the SPI interface.
The DUT has the two SPI interface.
One SPI interface is used for sending the request command from LabVIEW application (PC COM port or USB) to DUT (SPI BUS). By this time LabVIEW act as Master and DUT act as a Slave. For the request communication clock is generated from the Master. Slave use that clock for data transmission to DUT.
Another SPI interface is used for sending the response command from DUT (SPI Bus) to LabVIEW application (PC COM or USB). By this time DUT act as Master and LabVIEW application act as a Slave. For the response communication clock is generated from the Master (Clock rate is 18 MHz). Slave use that clock for data reception.
Here I need a converter for converting the COM or USB signals to SPI signals. Please let me know which converter is best suitable for this application.
    Thanks and Regards,

  • Parallel port/USB converter

I'm considering getting a miniMac for my daughter. We have an old flat screen monitor, but is has a paralell port connector. Is there such a thing that allows you to interface a USB port with the parallel port connection?
If I have to buy a new display, I'm wondering if it makes just as much sense for the budget to get an iBook, even if it doesn't quite have all the bells and whistles and is destined for obsolesence (though what technology isn't?)
Thanks for your thoughts on this.

    David,
I think maybe instead of parallel port you mean a VGA connector for video? A parallel port is a much different, PC-type thing.
And then, just to clarify, you wouldn't use USB to connect a monitor.
The two main kinds of monitor connectors are VGA and DVI. The Mac Mini supports them both. You can hook up an old-school CRT VGA monitor, or an LCD VGA or DVI monitor.
As to what to get, I guess it depends on what you plan to use the computer for. The iBook is a great portable, but personally, for me the small screen would get old after a while. Can't fit too many windows and such on the screen at once.
If you don't need the portability, then a Mini is a fine computer combined with your existing monitor. You'll still have to provide a USB keyboard and mouse.
I recent got a 17" Intel iMac, and it is one awesome piece of machinery. With that, you get a great 17" widescreen and lots of power, yet a reasonably small footprint.
If you decide to go iBook, keep in mind that there may be new intel ibooks on the market soon, to replace the current G4 crop.
If you find this post helpful, please mark it as such. Thanks.

    Hi
In one of our application I have to read the internal register values of the sensors. I am using NI 8451 card.
Pin Details of the sensors are-
SDIO – Serial Port Data Input & Output
    XY_LED – Led Control
NRESET – Reset Pin (active low input)
NCS – Chip select (active low input)
    VDD5 – Supply voltage
    GND – Ground
    REG0- Regulator Output
    SCLK – Serial Clock Input
My question is NI 8451 is having separate pins for SDO & SDI But sensor is having one pin for SDIO. How to connect them  ,I have to read the register values & some registers are read/writable.??

  • Laser Jet 4000 Parallel Port to USB

I have a Laser Jet 4000 that I've tried to connect to my new computer using a parallel to USB cable.  Now when I shut down Windows XP I get a Blue Screen and the computer does not shut down automatically.  Sometimes I get a message that there is a driver/device conflict.  When I disconnect the USB cable to the printer, the problem disappears.  What can I due to get the Laser Jet 4000 to work with Windows XP properly?

You could purchase and install an IEEE 1284 card on your PC, which will have a parallel port on it. This way, you can connect the printer directly to the PC. You could also install the latest drivers for the Parallel-to-USB converter and see if it helps.

  • Using HP Laserjet 5100 as a postscript level 3 device

    Hi Smart People,
I'm usually pretty good at figuring this kind of thing out, but this setup has me at the edge of my understanding. If you could help me out, I would be very grateful.
I'm planning to use my 5100 to print offset plates for use on a printing press. I'd like to be able to use Adobe Acrobat Pro to output RIP-processed color separations with trapping. Acrobat says that this is possible with Postcript Level 3 devices, and as far as I know the laserjet 5100 is such a printer.
I'm connecting the printer to the computer using a ethernet cable to the Jetdirect (directly, without using an ethernet switch). I can get the printer printing just fine, but when I try to send a separation job to the printer, I get an error message on the printer display (79.00 PRINTER ERROR). I've tried using both AppleTalk and TCP/IP and get the same results.
I've read in the HP documentation that the parallel port is the only connection that can access all of the printer's capabilities. This has me thinking that connection the printer via the Jetdirect precludes the use of the internal Postscript Level 3 RIP. So my questions are:
    Is this true?
If it is true, is it possible to connect the printer via the parallel port to my mac? Maybe with a parallel-to-USB converter cable? Or with an ethernet switch with a parallel port printer server?
I've seen mention on the internet of a set of files from HP called something like "HP Laserjet Monochrome for Mac" that seems to install postscript printing capabilities, but I can't find a functioning link to the file (the file seems to have been deleted from HP's site). Is this what I'm looking for?
Is there anything else I can do (besides buy a -shudder- PC to act as a print server) to get this working?
    Thanks a ton,
    Gary

I think the jetdirect is the correct method to use all the printer features (postscript 3).
Setting up a direct ethernet connection is tricky. You must set a manual IP address on the Mac, even to use appletalk. You should also set an IP address on the jetdirect, then add the printer using IP > jetdirect protocol.
Set computer and printer to be in the same local-reserved subnet - example - 192.168.3.3 for computer and 192.168.3.4 for printer (subnet mask 255.255.255.0 for both).

  • Help with HP Laser Printer 1200se

    HP Support Line,
Really need your assistance.  I have tried both contacting HP by phone (told they no longer support our printer via phone help), the tech told me that I needed to contact HP by e-mail for assistance.   I then sent an e-mail for assistance and got that reply today, the reply is as follows  "Randall, unfortunately, HP does not offer support via e-mail for your product.  However many resources are available on the HP web site that may provide the answer to your inquiry.  Support is also available via telephone.  A list of technical support numbers can be round at the following URL........."  The phone numbers listed are the ones I called and the ones that told me I needed to contact the e-mail support for help.
So here I am looking for your help with my issue.
We just bought a new HP Pavillion Slimline Desk Top PC (as our 6 year old HP Pavillion PC died on us).  We have 2 HP printers, one (an all-in-one type printer, used maily for copying and printing color, when needed) is connected and it is working fine with the exception of the scanning option (not supported by Windows 7).  However we use our Laser Printer for all of our regular prining needs.  This is the HP LaserPrinter 1200se, which is about 6 years old but works really well.  For this printer we currently only have a parallel connection type cord and there is not a parallel port on the Slimline HP PC.  The printer also has the option to connedt a USB cable (we do not currently have this type of cable).
We posed the following two questions:
    1.  Is the Laser Jet 1200se compatible with Windows 7?
and if this is the case
    2.  Can we purchase either a) a USC connection cord (generic or do we need a printer specific cord)? or b) is there there a printer cable converter adapater to attach to our parallel cable to convert to a USB connection?
We do not want to purchase the USB cable if Windows 7 will not accept the connection, or if doing this will harm the PC.
We really would appreciate any assitance that you might give us.
    Thank you,
    Randy and Leslie Gibson

Sorry, both cannot be enabled by design.  That said, devices on a network do not care how others are connected.  You can print from a wireless connection to a wired (Ethernet) printer and v/v.
Say thanks by clicking "Kudos" "thumbs up" in the post that helped you.

  • HP Laserjet 1100 - print fails

    Hi
I have an OLD HP Laserjet 1100 which I used to be able to print from fine on my old XP (SP2) machine. I have recently set the printer up on a new laptop running XP (SP3) using a parallel to USB converter. It's using the same drivers. However, now, whenever I try print I get an immediate message saying "Print failed". Doesnt give me a reason. Just won't print!! If there is anyone out there who can help me I'd appreciate it!
    Regards,
    AEC
p.s. Buying a new printer is unfortunately not really an option.

Hi there.  This is funny, or sad really.  I have the exxact problem.  When it doesn't print it says this printer is not connected.
That just can't be.  What about firmware?  While nosing around the HP site I noticed it says firmware needs to be updated.
I'm not sure how to do this.
    Have a great day,

  • HP Laserjet 4P Printing Problems

I am using a Mac G4 with 10.4.7 and printing on a HP Laser Jet 4P using driver HP Laser Jet 4 Series Gimp.
When I first print a page or 20 pages of the job, all works fine. Once I go to print another job, I get the msg "GIMP Printing Page 1, 15% and the printer will not print no matter how long I wait. The only solution is to turn the printer off, re boot the Mac and then it will print one job. To print another job, without a failure, I must turn off the printer again and re boot the Mac. This is really a problem, especially when printing UPS Shipping Labels. Any idea how to correct this problem ?
I do not have the problem with a Epson Printer with standard Mac Drivers. But The HP Laser is so much cheaper to do volume printing, I prefer to use the Laser Jet 4P.
    Thank You for your help
    Paul

Here is the latest update on the HP LaserJet 4P printing problem.
    1. I went to Library>Printers and dragged the Icon (HP Laserjet 4p.app) to the dock. Printer still will not print.
    2. Reloaded the driver HP Laser Jet 4Plus v2013.111
Printer will not print. Error mag on printer is (W2-Invalid Pers)
    3. Reloaded the driver HP Laser Jet 4 series Gimp Print V5.0.0 Beta.
Printer will print one Job (1 page or 20 pages). Send another job and it will not print.
    4. Downloaded the HP Driver for Laser Jet as was instructed in an earlier post
( HPlaserjet v552.dmg) I double click on the .DMG file and it brings up a Icon of a Disk Drive on the desktop HE LaserJet V5.5.2.051. Double click on that icon and a window opens with the same information. There is no place to click to install this driver.
I do not believe the HP Laser Jet 4P has a problem as I can hook it to a PC and it will print one job after the other, never a problem.
How do I get the driver mentioned in #4 to appear in the HP Print drivers list in the printer setup utility so I can select it.
The Parallel to USB converter I am using was the one recommended earlier this year as the one used by a few here on the forum to run their HP Laser Jet 4P.
I could forget the HP Laser Jet and go with my Epson printer. However with amount of business printing and UPS Labels the ink cartridges is very costly. The Laser Jet will run for almost 2 years on a Cartridge. Others have made the Laser 4P work on a Mac. Please scan through my first post and replies to get a flavor of the problem.
Thanks for your continued support. Needless to say, I am lost in this problem.

  • Printer driver for HP LaserJet 4L with Windows 7

I cannot find the printer driver for my LaserJet 4L in Windows 7.  I have a parallel to USB converter cable attached to my computer.   I need the drivers.
    Thanks.
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

My Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit system has a built-in driver for this printer model:
I don't know whether the driver is present on a fresh Windows install; it may only have appeared in the list after the Windows Update button was clicked on the above Add Printers dialogue, then waiting (perhaps for several minutes) whilst additional drivers were downloaded, and the list repopulated.
I'd assume that the same might be true of earlier Windows versions as well.

  • Adding unrecognized printer

I am attempting to get my iMac G5 (10.3.9 OS) to recognize an hp 11p laserjet printer. Connection via a parallel to USB cable. Printer not on Apple list. hp website no help. I would appreciate any comment or help. Thanks!

Sorry, Jake, I meant "parallel to USB" converter cable.
Some brands of cables seem to work better than others for this sort of purpose. You will find a useful listing HERE
For drivers for older or non-standard printers for Macs the best bet is usually http://gutenprint.sourceforge.net/

  • Laser printer glitch

I'm printing with an old LaserJet 6MP. Since this printer has a parallel port, not a USB, and my G4 Quicksilver has no parallel port like my older Macs did, I've connected the printer to the Mac with a parallel-to-USB converter cable, which (as you would expect) has a parallel connector on one end for the printer and USB on the other end for the computer.
This setup has always worked fine in the past. Now, however, a glitch has developed. When I hit the print button, instead of printing immediately like it always used to do, I often get a long pause in which the HP Laserjet HP window says "sending the print file" while that horizontal blue barber pole spins. This will go on for a minute or two, and then, instead of printing, the window says "jobs stopped." If I hit the "start jobs" button, once again the window will say "sending the print file" but this time the page will print immediately.
So I can continue to print that way, waiting for "Jobs Stopped" and then hitting "Start Jobs," but it sure is slow. Is there any way I can make the printer return to just printing immediately, without the long pause and then stopping the job first? What's gone wrong?
    Thanks much for any help.
    Tom

Yes, it's been a few more days now since my last post, and that printer is still working great, with lots of use. This driver Greg showed us works perfectly with the converter cable. At the local computer store where they sell these parallel-to-USB cables, they carry different brands of them, all for around $30 each, and I've bought three of them now so that I and my relatives can keep using our old parallel-port laser printers. All three of the cables came with software, but all of the software was for Windows; nothing for Mac. And that's all right as long as OS-X recognizes the cable and printer as USB, as my previous experience shows. But OS-X seems to run into trouble from time to time--it worked well when it worked, but was never quite glitch-free. Sometimes when it acted up I'd have to delete the printer from the printer list and reinstall it to get things working again. Finally, it had so many problems that that solution didn't work anymore. Something must have gone wrong in OS-X. That's when I came here for help.
However, after installing this driver Greg showed us, all is well again and the driver/cable combination seems pretty robust. I have been using all sorts of features of this printer such as choosing different page feeding trays, printing selected pages and page ranges, and everything works great (knocking on wood now). It seems to me that with this driver and any of the parallel-to-USB cables available in computer stores, old parallel-port laser printers can now work fine with new USB Macs. And these old LaserJets are pretty bulletproof. The one I'm using now has over 80,000 pages behind it and still works like new. Toner cartridges for the LaserJet 5MPs and 6MPs are available in any office supply store, and you can sometimes find the printers themselves in second had stores and thrift shops for a pittance, as people got rid of them when computers went USB. Years ago I spent $1100 for this 6MP at Best Buy, and I consider a $30 converter cable to be a cheap price to keep it working with my G4 Mac.
    Thanks once again, Greg!

  • Diablo 630

Purely for the sake of amusement, I am considering connecting a Diablo 630 to one of my Macs. I know I will need a parallel-to-USB converter. Beyond that, what might be necessary to get this thing to print? Are there CUPS drivers? How would I use them? All I want it to be able to send text files to it; no need to try to approximate the layout of a page as it appears on the screen.
    All tips will be appreciated.
