Parallels don't work with MacBook Pro mid 2012

Parallels don't work with new MBP. It operates with 2011 and under portables.
No answer from Parallels: get you something good?
       Regards

Talk to NOVA Development providing your license no.  They will respond.  If this would have happened to me I'd check permission errors.  If none, I would use the DMG file for paralllels, uninstall and reinstall from scratch.

  • Internet connectivity problems with Macbook Pro, mid 2012.

I have a Macbook Pro, mid 2012, running OS 10.8.5. My able to access the Internet is intermittent, both with Ethernet or Wifi. When I check Network settings, it indicates that I am connected, even though I cannot access the Internet.  I have to restart the compute to gain access again, which doesn't last. I've taken it to the local Apple Store.  They ran thorough diangostics tests which found no hardware problems.  I have done complete clean reinstalls of the OS as well.  I also have frequent Kernel Panic restarts.  I have no problems connecting through my router for my Imac via Ethernet, and wirelessly for a Windows laptop and smartphones and iPod.  Any suggstions out there?

If you have more than one user account, you must be logged in as an administrator to carry out these instructions.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Select the most recent panic log under the heading System Diagnostic Reports on the left. If you don't see that heading, select
View ▹ Show Log List   from the menu bar. Post the entire contents of the panic report — the text, please, not a screenshot. In the interest of privacy, I suggest you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header and body of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.) Please don't post shutdownStall, spin, or hang reports.

  • Mavericks works fine with macbook pro mid 2012, i7 2.6?

Hi everyone, I'm DJ and i have a macbook pro 15 mid 2012 with i7 2.6, 8Gb ddr3 amd i work with traktor pro 2.6.6 ... Actually i use Mountain Lion (10.8.5) and i want to know what it's good to do... Upgrade at Mavericks or not?

Only if you know your critical software is compatible with Mavericks.
    Upgrading to Mavericks
You can upgrade to Mavericks from Lion or directly from Snow Leopard. Mavericks can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for FREE.
    Upgrading to Mavericks
To upgrade to Mavericks you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or Lion installed. Download Mavericks from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. Mavericks is free. The file is quite large, over 5 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.
Macs that can be upgraded to OS X Mavericks
             1. iMac (Mid 2007 or newer) - Model Identifier 7,1 or later
             2. MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer) - Model Identifier 5,1 or later
             3. MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             4. MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer) - Model Identifier 2,1 or later
             5. Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             6. Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             7. Xserve (Early 2009) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
To find the model identifier open System Profiler in the Utilities folder. It's displayed in the panel on the right.

  • Handoff not working with Macbook air (mid 2012)

So, I just updated to Yosemite and I have enabled all the settings on my Macbook Air (mid 2012), iPhone and iPad.  Turned on blutooth, same wifi network, etc...  Handoff DOES work from my Mac to the iPhone but will not work from my iPhone to my mac.  I've searched high and low and can't figure out why its not working...  Any ideas?

*UPDATE* I was able to drop a file to my iPhone via AirDrop FROM my MBP to iPhone. However, I've still been unable to do the reverse (iPhone to MBP).
Same exact situation with same exact MBP (mid 2012 machine). iPhone 5S running iOS 8. I had been trying to go iPhone to MBP for about 30 minutes with no success. Neither Handoff or AirDrop would work. The MBP would recognize the iPhone in AirDrop, but the iPhone would never recognize the MBP as a location to "drop" to.
After reading you post, I tried the reverse (MBP to iPhone). I started an e-mail and got the mail icon on my iPhone lock screen. However, when trying to access the message on the iPhone i received connectivity errors and the "draft" never loaded.
Perhaps the server on the cloud they use for the handoff/airdrop/continuity feature is overloaded due to the rollout. Either way it's entirely more complex to use then it should be.

  • Final Cut Pro / Logic Pro Don't Work with MacBook Pro

I think it's pretty bad public relations that Apple would knowingly sell a new product that does not work with Logic 7.1 or Final Cut Studio, and not bother to tell you.
We found out the hard way when after a post-production editor spent 3 hours trying to reinstall the discs and called an Apple Support center. They informed us that because of Intel Chips we needed to replace our software completely and pay Apple a fee of $50 per title for this benefit.
I can live with spending $100 for software which is less than 1 year old (although I think Apple will be sued over this one if not their pathetic support of iPod batteries) but why is so hard for Apple Computers as a company to advise customers when software doesn't work?
For Apple to call this product a "Pro" product and support it with such pathetic disdain for the client and to not advise their so-called 'geniuses' of this (dare I use the word) "glitch" is really hilarious.
To 'fix' this problem, go to

    G5 1.8GHz / G4 17" 1.67GHz / MB Pro 2.16GHz +2GRAM Mac OS X (10.4.7)

I don't know what's worse, the fact that some of the replies here are completely immature and stupid, or the fact that some of you have hundreds of posts meaning that you don't seem to do anything else all day except stare at the Apple website and look for things to pick at.
I have a right as a consumer to complain, and no, this doesn't equate to buying beachfront property or the number of children I have relative to rooms in my house, it equates to whether or not Apple, as a company, feels it is important to notify customers in a meaningful way of changes within their product offerings.
I'm happy you all seem to have nothing else to do all day except stare at the Apple website, I personally would rather stare at that beachfront property in Big Sur.

  • Bluetooth headphones don't work with Macbook pro Retina, but they do with iMac.  Why???

I AM NOT AN EXPERT.  I AM MAKING ASSUMPTIONS.  My issue, tech spec's and assumptions are listed below.
    MY ISSUE:
My Rocketfish headphones work perfectly with my iMac but not with my Macbook Pro Retina.
The Macbook Pro does recognize the device but when I try to connect, it gives me the following error message:
"The device does not have the necessary services".
    TECH SPEC
    iMac has OS X 10.7.5
Macbook Pro Retina has OS X 10.8.2
    MY ASSUMPTION
If I upgrade to 10.8.2 I will not be able to use the headphones.
    Or
The new Macbook Pro's are only functional with bluetooth headphones that have certain specs.

  • AirPlay Mirroring not working on MacBook Pro (Mid 2012, OS X 10.7.4)

I am trying to mirror the display of my MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2012, OS X 10.7.4) to my TV using the latest AppleTV. AirPlay works from iTunes to the AppleTV, but I don't have an AirPlay icon in my Display Preferences to project whatever's on the screen to the AppleTV. What could be wrong..? Thanks in advance.

You need to update to Mountain Lion. Purchase it in the Mac App Store.

  • Issues with MacBook Pro mid 2012 and SSD data 3

I installed a Samsung SSD in my macbook pro model A1278, it work very well since yesterday; maverick 10.9.2 run very very slow and it have a lot of lag. And so ai provide to reinstall the native HDD and it run very well. I decided to buy another SSD of  OCZ, the previous was Samsung 830, and the system didn't recognise the ssd, but if i  link it with usb it work. Anyone have the same problem?

Thank you for your reply :),
I verified multiple times to ensure that the MBP-R and the ATV2 were connected to the same wifi. That's all that would be required with my network set up since there are no configured sub-networks. All of the devices connected can see each-other. I also verified this by checking in the router. Sure enough, the ATV2 is listed with all of the other devices.
There were other problems related to Internet content with the ATV2 when I shipped it in for repairs under warranty. It was constantly disconnecting and reconnecting, and no matter what, it wouldn't remember any settings. I noticed these defects after I asked this question. I suspect that, because there has been some horrible weather and lots of power surges here,  that it became damaged from a surge. This was not plugged into a surge protector like everything else, so I brought that on upon myself unfortunately.

  • My iPad 3 is not charging on my macbook pro mid-2012. It was working yesterday and it is not working now, and I'm trying to transfer files between them. How do I charge my iPad with my macbook without having to be a completely new computer?

I am trying to transfer files between my ipad 3 and my macbook pro mid-2012 and they will just not connect. I connected them yesterday and it worked fine. And i can not air drop these files into my ipad it has to be done through itunes. And i can not afford to buy a new computer. How do i get these two to connect without having to buy a completely new computer?

Computer USB ports, regardless of the computer maker, have a relatively low power output and thus are not good chargers. They will charge but it takes a long time. You should be charging your iPad from wall power, or a more powerful source like an in-car charger.
Buying another computer will not change that.

  • HP Pavilion external monitor has stopped working with my Macbook Pro (Mid 2012) with OSX 10.8.3

HP Pavilion external monitor has stopped working with my Macbook Pro (Mid 2012) with OSX 10.8.3.  When I purchased the monitor a few weeks ago it worked perfectly when computer was in clamshell mode or with lid open. Now external display has stopped working.  When I turn on display it scans for signal but does not find it and then immediately goes into sleep mode.  I am using a DVI connection with the adapter for the mini display plug.  REALLY FRUSTRATING. Any help would be extremely appreciated.

  • Cinema Display (clear) with DVI/ADC box doesn't work with MacBook Pro

Cinema Display (clear) with DVI/ADC box doesn't work with MacBook Pro when plugged in with a dvi to mini dvi cable. Any ideas what to do to make it work? I lugged the 23" 2500 miles into the wilderness and I need help

Okay, here's an update: the DVI to ADC adapter does work with the Apple displays that I have tried, but it won't work with the Formac. I have tried multiple time to contact them, but to no avail... they don't even respond to threats of posting my opinion of them, which is this:
DON'T BUY ANYTHING FROM FORMAC! They make quality products, but their customer service is a big time joke! They won't take care of you.

  • Does Adobe Photoshop Elements work with MacBook Pro with Retina display?

Does Adobe Photoshop Elements work with MacBook Pro with Retina display, please?
Have searched Adobe website for answer - most recent is 2013 answer, saying no.
Contradicted by a staff ember who only referred to Photoshop, not Elements.
Reason I need it is that iPhoto does not support very high resolution photos - which I have now scanned onto my MacBook and do not want to re-scan!! After 90 minutes at my local Genius bar (lovely folk, very conscientiously searching for an answer...), re-scanning was their final piece of advice.
    Help, please...

    Hello Smis,
Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience! To help you get the most out of the HP Forums I would like to direct your attention to the HP Forums Guide First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More.
I understand you are having issues with your HP Monitor on your MAC. I am providing you with an HP Support document: Updating a Monitor Driver, where it states under the sub-heading Using HP monitors on a Mac "HP monitors are not supported in a Mac environment. However, newer Macs use graphics with VESA modes and can display to most HP LCD monitors. To do this, connect the monitor to the Mac while the Mac is off, and then turn on the MAC. The monitor should operate at 60Hz. The INF and software for the HP monitor are for Microsoft Windows and cannot be run in a standard MAC OS environment."
This being said all I can advise is that you check to see that the monitor is set to operat at 60Hz and contact Apple for assistance if that does not get your monitor displaying correctly.
I hope I have answered your question to your satisfaction. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums. Have a great day!
