Parameterizing the target base URL (e.g. Domain name) in e-Test scripts

Hi there,
I am currently building all my functional tests (scripts) using e-Test, given a target TG1 machine with URL (http://www.myfirsturl.com)
Later I am planning to run these tests against another target TG2 environment, let us say (http://www.mysecondurl.com).
Is there a way to do easily it, thus avoiding the need to re-record all tests again (i.e. if the target system changes)?
Many thanks,
Nuno

Yes, it should be available as part of the eTester group of products. You have to check the checkboxes for these products when you are installing eTester. Also, eManager and eLoad need separate licenses than eTester. Script Updater is a new Utility that is available with eTester 8.2. So if you have an older version, you will not see it. There are other ways to change URLs, using VBA, so if you cannot find Script Updater or can't upgrade to 8.2, you can try them.

  • What are the Target Base Tables for FA_TAX_INTERFACE table?

    Hi,
We are using "upload tax book interface" program to update the Tax Book informaiton.

Well, what are you reconciling to? You are looking at something that seems to be different from your data extract, so what is that thing? My trouble shooting process is to take an asset that seems to be wrong and reconcile from the report/screen data to the extract data. You have to figure out what Oracle program is involved and what kind of SQL that the program is doing and what tables it is looking at. This could be an Oracle program error. I just ran into a problem on the Payables Posted Invoice Register report, where the total did not match my extract total. Turns out the report was wrong. If I had table records with a date/time stamp value (instead of just a date stamp value) in the accounting date field for the TO ACCOUNTING DATE value in my report request selection, those records were being dropped from the report. I reported this to Oracle support and found out that there is a patch to fix the problem (happens when cancelling an invoice) and a data script to follow to fix the historical data. So you have to keep an open mind. Yes, trying to find a reconciling issue can be very painful.
My reaction is that you are looking at the right tables. There is also a FA_DISTRIBUTION_HISTORY table that you may want to look into, that links back to the FA_DEPRN_DETAIL table. Maybe your issue lies there. At least something to look at.

Thanks for your response.  I tried your suggestion in my local installation, but no luck.

Now I want to publish my own calendar on the server!
There is the question about the basis-url!!!
    What does it mean?
What is the term an the correct syntax, to fill in?

    Hello,
FYI -- "here", as in these forums (which are targeted at BB/RIM services rather than carrier services), would not be the best place to find out something specific for one carrier. With so many thousands of carriers with dozens of different plans each, it's pretty much impossible to keep track of the specifics. The generic information is this:
    http://www.blackberryfaq.com/index.php/What_do_I_need_a_Data_Plan_for%3F
But, there certainly can be variations on that given the different packages carriers put together. I do suggest you do as JSanders recommended -- contact your carrier and find out what you've signed up for.
    Good luck!

  • Looking for the most econmical way of tying domain name to mobileme iweb

Hi all, I currently have a few sites that are hosted on mobileme, and I used the DynDNS services to 1) register a domain name (15$) and 2) create a webhop (CNAME) from the domain to the mobileme site (30$). So that's 45$ per year per site. Is there a more economical way of doing the same thing (without running my own server)? I have a handful of brochure sites to post, and I am looking to cut costs. Thx!!!
    coocoo

No. Look at GoDaddy and see and I think that you will find that what OT has said is correct.
If you purchase a domain name from them, depending on what ending it is - .com, .co.uk, .net etc, then you just pay for the cost of the registration for one year or two years, which does work out at $7.95 per YEAR depending on the domain name you get and this will be excluding any hosting or e-mail packages. E-mail does cost extra though.
If you just register your domain name, then you can use CNAME forwarding or web forwarding at no extra cost. So none of this adding $29 for the privilege of using CNAME forwarding - GoDaddy does not do this and you get it when you register your domain name.
Once you have the domain name registered, all you do is set up a new CNAME and point the 'www' part of your domain to web.me.com which is your MobileMe host and it will be forwarded to your site.
I use GoDaddy myself and have no problems whatsoever.
If you have one MobileMe account, then you have the option of entering a domain name into the Personal Domain Name settings - you can do this once for every MobileMe account and can then use CNAME forwarding at your domain registrar to forward your domain name to your MobileMe account.
However, you can still publish as many sites as you like to MobileMe, but your url will be http://web.me.com/username/sitename, unless you then use masked or unmasked web forwarding to link your domain name to it if you wish.

  • How to convert URL to its domain name

    Hi,
I need to get the client machine name to track who had logged on to the website. I know how to get the url using the request as : request.getRequestUrl(), but is there a way i use this information to get the domain name for the url?
    Thanks a lot.
    cc

Well if you have the actual URL, then can't you just parse the string, extracting the portion after the last dot for example?
Also, you may want to take a look at the java.net.InetAddress class --it has static methods for returning both the IP and the name of a computer.

  • Error determining whether the target server is already a domain controller: The target server is already a Domain Controller.

So basically, I was promoting a new server to a DC.  It said the promotion failed.  I rebooted the server and low and behold, it is acting like a domain controller.  It is moved to the domain controller OU, it is replicating fine, it knows
who has the FSMO roles and I see no other problems. However, server manager is still telling me to promote the machine to be a DC as can be seen here:
If I click the link to run DC Promo, I get this:
Is there any way to just tell the server that "yes this is a working DC" to get rid of the task in server manager? Or is there something else I should do to correct this?

    Hi Vinny,
There are others who have encountered similar scenarios as yours, clicking the Post-deployment Configuration message is enough to make the message disappear for good.
Although I am more worried about that you mentioned the promotion failed, I suggest you run DCdiag.exe on this machine to examine if the DC is healthy.

  • Sometime I search a pdf file in google, but when I right click on the link and choose "save link as" or "download with IDM" it says that the target is url (html extension) and save a webpage file. It happens with firefox 4 and there's no problem in IE.

it happens for both Adobe Acrobat and Foxit phantom.

First, I sent an email to the author of PhotoME to inform him of the serious issues his addon caused with Firefox latest versions.
Now, for those of you who do not have the PhotoME addon and yet experience the same problem that I had and that I described above, I suggest the following strategy.
As PhotoME did cause these problems with Firefox latest versions, I am pretty covinved other addons probably might cause these problems too. Therefore, adopt the following method.
Test one addon at a time to see if this particular addon is behind your Firefox issues like the ones I had.
So, disable one addon only at a time. Then close your Firefox and restart it from scratch and see if you still have your Firefox problems. You must restart the Firefox browser from scratch. If you still have these Firefox problems, re-enable the disabled addon, restart your Firefox (again!) and repeat the same method for every single addon that you have.
Try to be selective by choosing first addons that are more likely to cause your Firefox problems such as not very well-known or not very popular addons (like it was the case for the PhotoME addon).
If this method works or if it does not work, report it on this web page so that others can be helped with your comments.
I hope this method will help you because I was really upset that I had these Firefox problems and I first thought it was the fault of Firefox, only to discover later that this PhotoME addon was the culprit and had caused me such upset.

  • Firefox pulls in the wrong website on a particular domain name on my PC but the correct one on my laptop. Deleting the history - cookies, temporary files etc has not cleared the problem.

I changed the forwarding address to one of my domains a week or so ago. When I go to that website on my laptop (on Firefox) it pulls in the right address. On my PC the old website is the one that Firefox pulls in yet, when I go to Internet Explorer on my PC the correct website is the one that comes up. Apparently this is a problem with the Firefox version on my PC which I believe is the latest as Firefox is an absolute pain in the neck in inundating users with constant demands to update. Very annoying!

Reload web page(s) and bypass the cache.
    * Press and hold Shift and left-click the Reload button.
    * Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
    * Press "Cmd + Shift + R" (MAC)
Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
    "Clear the Cache":
    * Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
"Remove the Cookies" from sites causing problems:
    * Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

  • Send portal screen parameters to one absolute url in a different domain

    Hi Experts,
We have a requirement wherein we have to send some screen parameters of the portal application to one url which is in a different domain.
We are currently using Iframe UI element and binding the source property of the UI element to a string attribute wherein we have set the url and the parameters.
The portal application is a webdynpro java application. The only requirement is to send the screen parameters to one particular url and nothing else. We do not want to create any html files and moreover we also do not want to make Iframe ui element visible in our webdynpro application.
Can you please suggest how can I acheive this?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Anurag

you can add the portal parameters to the target application URL
    target app : http://some.com/application.jsp&param1=myvalue&param2=value
    read URL parameters in Dynpro:
    WDWebContextAdapter.getWebContextAdapter().getRequestParameter("param1");
Lemme know your requirement passing to URL or getting portal params

  • Base URL changed to HTTPS, but trying to download an protected PDF claims using (unsecure) HTTP

Tried to configure an policy in contentspace to protect native PDF-files by Rights Management.
Downloading such an file gave an error-message like (translated from german): "Acrobat-Security: you are trying to connect to an Adobe liveCycle Rights Management server over an unsafe protocol. Connection was refused. Please use HTTPS in the future."
Then we configured the Rights Management Base URL to use the (already configured) HTTPS-protocol and port.
But when trying an download again, the connection is still blocked claiming that HTTP is still used.
Where is the additional place to configure the Base URL for the clients (or to be embedded in th eprotected documents)?
    Thanks,
    Dilettanto

The Base URL is embedded in the PDF when a policy is applied.  You will need to need to re-apply the policy to the source PDF (with the correct Base URL set on the server).

  • What target address does IPM select if the target IPSLA device is a multi-VRF CE?

What target address does IPM select if the target IPSLA device is a multi-VRF CE?
With IPM 4.2.1 it is not possible to select the correct target IP address when configuring a collector between two multi-VRF devices. It looks as if the primary management address for the target device is used in the collector configuration which, of course, belongs in a different VRF entirely.

One example, and there may be others, is the (free) DynDNS dynamic DNS service which publishes a domain name for the WAN port of your router which can then be resolved, like all other domain names, to the actual IP address of the WAn port of your router. This service provides a solution to the problem of having a proper domain name in cases where your public IP address changes over time. Unless you pay for a static IP address, virtually all ISPs change your public IP address over time.
So, you can register for a free DynDNS account at www.dyndns.com and that is how you come up with the User: and Password: information; use whatever User and Password you register at dyndns.com with.
The first part of the hostname you can define as you wish, subject only to someone else having used it previously, and the remaining parts of the domain name might be "dyndns.org" or one of the other domain names provided by the DynDNS service. So, you could publish, via DynDNS, the name of your public IP address as, for example, joehlam.dyndns.org however you might want something less descriptive or more vague.

  • Oracle VM 3.1.1 - How to define the YUM repository URL

The documentation shows an example or two about how to define the URL of the Yum repository I created, but it doesn't seem to define EXACTLY what to do. For example, the URL to the directory with my RPMs in it is:
    http://my-yum.acbl.net/yum/OracleVM/OVM3/3.1.1/patch/x86_64/getPackage
Can someone tell me how much of that path I should enter into the "YUM Base URL" sub-tab under the "Tools and Resources" tab in the VM Manager? I have tried to make an intelligent guess (or two), but it's not updating properly, and I don't know if I'm entering the URL properly.

Thank you. I'll try that, and update this again, if it seems to be wrong.
I actually opened an SR on this, and asked this same question. After several hours, I got a response, something like "What part of the documentation do you find unclear?". I tried to carefully explain that the docs don't (as best I can tell) define how much of the path should be in the URL given to Oracle VM. I still haven't heard back.
