Parental Gate on DPS ?

We created an app for kids using DPS but Apple rejected it for two reasons. The biggest one is the following:
24.3
We noticed you have designated your app as primarily intended for kids under the age of 13 but it includes links out of the app or engages in commerce without first obtaining parental permission. This is not in compliance with the App Store Review Guidelines.
Specifically, your app includes In-App Purchases that are not behind a parental gate. To be in compliance with the App Store Review Guidelines, purchases must be behind a parental gate, and the parental gate may not be disabled.
It looks like DPS can't implemet a parental gate to stop kids to buy issues without asking the parents... Is that correct?
I'm attaching the images so you can help me with that..

You are correct, there is not a good way to this in DPS. We spoke with their staff about it, and they stonewalled at introducing a universal solution.
Their stance is that as an enterprise customer you can use a custom storefront to perform the gating where necessary. (And if you're not an enterprise customer, you're presumably SOL.)
That leaves you without a way to gate Kids when they click on a link within a folio without having to have some sort of webview on every page as well.

  • Ios 7 kids apps parental gate/permission

    Hello!
I'm developing an app for kids for ios and android.
After uploading to appStore, my app was reviewed and i recieved the following message:
Apps primarily intended for use by kids under 13 must get parental permission
or use a parental gate before allowing the user to link out of the app or engage in commerce
How can i add this parental gate to my app?
I saw some examples online (very few) for other developing languages, of a pop-up with a password, but nothing came up for air.
    thanks!

We have used a couple of techniques. One is to put up a set of numbers and ask the user to type a sequence of four numbers, which we show as words (the keys are just the numbers). That has been approved in a few apps.
The other technique we used hasn’t been submitted to the app store yet, I don’t think, shows a “parents” button that you have to drag into a corner as indicated by some text that briefly appears when you touch the button.
So, a parental gate can be anything you like, it just has to present a question that is hard to guess what the answer is, you need to be able to read and understand some instructions, and the hope is that very young kids won’t guess what to do.

  • Very  urgent- find parent-child relationship for wbs element

    Hi,
There is a certain parent child heirachy in WBS elements. My requiremnet is to delete WBS element depending on certain field , say depending on some ""status"".If the status is active in some or any of the child then I am not suppose to delete its respective parent too. This parent-child relation can have say 5 levels.
For this I require a logic /program which shall maintain the parent reference for that particular child whih I want/ dont want to delete.
I am maintaining bottom- to -top approach.
That is I shall be checking for the status of the lowest level of WBS and then  going to the highest.
    Please Help!

  • Golden Gate functionality during new deployments

Hi can anybody tell me what can be done during deployment activity is performed for Active-Active(bi-directional) Golden Gate configuration?
In our case during new deployments we fail-over complete traffic from once Data centre to another active data centre.
After traffic fail-over we perform deployment work on Database. Which might insert/add columns etc.....
Adding columns and inserting data on once database makes Golden Gate to replicate them to target database which is not desired for a running database.
Anybody suggest what can be done in such scenario?
Also if we try to ignore those tables, we have seen a situation where Golden Gate will fail saying parent keys not found.
Any suggestion on handling such situation will help me a lot.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello,
Maybe a late reply, but have you thought of creating an extract process specif to the deployment (active data center)?
You could use the extracted trails and pump them over to the other data center and run the trails/changes as a batch job.
I recently had a similar scenario, and create a specific extract(active center) and batch replicat(passive center). The parameter nodbcheckpoint tell Oracle GG that you are running a batch job.
    Here is an example:
GGSCI> ADD REPLICAT LOADDRP, EXTTRAIL ./dirdat/tx nodbcheckpoint
    GGSCI> EDIT PARAMS LOADDRP
    REPLICAT LOADDRP
    SETENV (NLS_LANG = "AMERICAN_AMERICA.WE8MSWIN1252")
    EXTTRAIL ./dirdat/tx
    HANDLECOLLISIONS
    --END RUNTIME

    DISCARDFILE ./dirrpt/loadtemppassive.dsc, purge

  • Sequence Error During Golden Gate Replication! Need Hints

    Dear All,
I am replicating 2 databases one way, from production to standby using golden gate.
Both databases are 11gR2 and on Linux.
Replication runs smooth for couple of days and then ends up with this error:
ERROR OGG-01296 Error mapping from ETISLBILLING.PAR_TBLPARNODEIDENTI to ETISLBILLING.PAR_TBLPARNODEIDENTI.
    Parent Ket Not Found ETISLBILLING.FK_PARTNERNODE_IDENT
    Trigger : ETISLBILLING.TRG_PAR_TBLPARTNERNODE Sequence : SEQ_PAR_TblPartnerIdenti
ORA-20000: Sequence value cannot be changed.
Main error is that value of sequence that is executed during the after insert trigger, does not change and trigger raise error hence the replication process is stopped.
I am just worried that the same triggers and sequences are executed successfully on production database and standby database has is exactly the same as production.
Is there some special treatment for sequences?
Kindly share your experience and give tips to handle this situation
    Regards, Imran

    Hi,
    Hope this helps
    Jan S.
FROM MOS: OGG Replicat Encounters OGG-01396 OGG-00869 ORA-01400 on Primary Key Column [ID 1308824.1]
    Cause
    ==================
from the replicat report, first this error occurs:
WARNING OGG-01396 A complete after image is not available
in <schema.table> at rba 123456 in file ./dirdat/yyy, while inserting
a row into <schema.table> due to missing target row for a key update operation.
NOCOMPRESSUPDATES or FETCHOPTIONS FETCHPKUPDATECOLS may be specified in the
EXTRACT parameter file to include a complete image for key update operations.
The offending record is a primary key update, ... probably the key
<to be found at the mentioned rba 123456 in file ./dirdat/yyy> is not available on target
if the PK is not available at target side, then this error is expected, because HANDLECOLLISIONS turns the PK update into an insert as result of no target record to update.
The problem is that the source PK update record doesn't contain all the after image columns. That is also expected because the update record is intended to only update the affected columns.
As a workaround use FETCHOPTIONS FETCHPKUPDATECOLS on the capture/extract side to get all the after images of the record so that when a HANDLECOLLISIONS logic kicks in, it will be
able to successfully convert the original PK update into insert with all the after image present.
    Solution
    ==================
First check the affected trail file yyy at RBA 123456 with logdump to verify, if the PK update does not have the complete key information as described.
If that is the case and the target table does not have the corresponding PK entry, this issue is hit. Otherwise it is something different.
    As a workaround use
    ==================
FETCHOPTIONS FETCHPKUPDATECOLS on the capture/extract side to get all the after images of
the record so that when a HANDLECOLLISIONS logic kicks in, it will be
able to successfully convert the original PK update into insert with all the after image present.

  • E4200 Parental controls: What does Cisco define as a "School Night"

I loved my WRT610N, but unfortunately a firmware "upgrade" killed its ability to limit device access to certain hours, so I had to buy a new router.
My brand new E4200 stumbled out of the gate when the Mac app on the setup CD declared it cannot be read by my operating system, OS X 10.7.1 (Lion). I had to laugh, but I prefer to do things through the web interface anyway.
Whether or not I hang on to this router or return it will mostly depend on if I can get it to block access to the Internet for certain devices at certain times of the day.
The parental control interface surprisingly shoddy -- in fact it looks as if it isn't quite done -- but if it will do the job, it will be nice to be able to turn off internet access on a device by device basis once again.
    Here's my question though:
Does anyone know how Cisco's E4200 router defines "Weekends" and "School nights?"
A simplistic (and incorrect) definition of a weekend for a router would be: Saturday and Sunday.
That would be incorrect because Friday, a "School Day" is a night where you would want later access, and Sunday, a "Non-school day" is when you would want access to shut off earlier because they need to get up for school on Monday morning.
Of course Sunday night I'll learn what time devices are barred, but I don't want to have to wait until the following Friday to learn whether or not they got Fridays right. There is a limited window where I can return the router and I don't want to push against it.

So are you saying that the time schedule defines weekends as Saturday & Sunday instead of Friday and Saturday?
The trouble with the Internet Access Policy is that each of groups only allow for 10 devices. Each of my kids has a desktop computer and an iPod touch, and the older kids also have laptops and iPads. Oh, and we have 7 kids. Add to that the family gaming systems that access the Internet, and you can see the problem with a 10 device limit.
It takes 4 groups just to enter all the kids' gadgets, and unlike the "Parental Controls" list, which displays both Mac addresses and computer names of all devices on the wireless network for me to choose from, the "Internet Access Policy" only gives 10 boxes for entering Mac Addresses, something I have to go out and get then carefully enter. And annoyingly, the boxes aren't even long enough to display a full MAC address once you have entered it, so you have to click in it and scroll with cursor keys to find typos.
In short, it's not that the Internet Access Policy is "more complicated," it's that it is tedious and limited.
This is why I am hoping the Parental Controls feature will be adequate.
Unfortunately, I can't find documentation that tells me what the router defines as a "Weekend." The help is certainly not helpful, in fact, it is kind of humourus ("To never block Internet access, select Never."). Brilliant.
On Sunday night, I'll be able to discover if the router considers Sunday night as a "School Night." If it does, then I have to wait for Friday to find out if that school day is considered by the router to be a "Weekend."
But I was hoping someone here knew already -- either from experience or from documentation somewhere.
By the way, I'm also a bit paranoid about using the "Internet Access Policy." That's what I was using on my former router, then I did a firmware upgrade and every MAC address entered in the IAP could not access the Internet anymore -- even during the times they should have been allowed.

  • Open a Android DPS app from a Safari link

    Hello:
Is it possible to open an Android DPS app from a Safari webpage using a hyperlink (href) ? In iOS I've found a solution but I'm not sure how to implement it on Android
    Saludos,

If it can be done with native code (iOS and android) then you could also write a native extension to launch an app.  However, because mobile apps are installed in individual sandboxes apps probably have no way of telling the parent OS to list current apps or run a paticular app.  This is just my opionion from what I have understood so far. I think you can create some sort of native extension and use the following methods below.
    Have a look here:
    http://developer.android.com/reference/android/content/Intent.html
As for iOS you would need to use App urls which would be application specific.

  • Accordeon menu + Indesign DPS

    Hey everyone,
I have a question concerning the following item:
I'm currently working on a file and there's need for an accordeon menu.
Of course the accordeon menu is (built with) HTML. I'm no hero at HTML so there's another party that will develop the menu.
But I have to integrate the HTML menu into the indesign file like Rufus explains here:
    http://tv.adobe.com/watch/muse-feature-tour/muse-creating-content-for-dps/
Each item of the menu will contain sveral buttons that eventuall should link to a page within the final DPS file.
But here comes the trick question:
Like I said earlier we want to integrate the menu into the DPS file. So if you click on the menu it should direct you to another page in the final DPS file...
Is it possible to use the native "navto://" code in the HTML file? Just like regular buttons inside of indesign do?
We're pretty stuck here... and I can't contact some HTML wizard on here, beacuse they mostly don't understand how indesign works...
    Thanks in advance!
    kevin

  • DPS Enterprise License for Apple's B2B Store

    Hey everyone,
we developed an app and successfully tested it on our iPads via DPS. We aim to distribute the app via the B2B store from Apple and the tutorial PDF from Adobe tells me that we need an "Enterprise license" for DPS.
Our company uses Adobe Creative Cloud and I am wondering now whether this already  means that we have an "Enterprise license" for DPS, as well?
    Cheers,
    Alex

    No. It does not.

  • How can a parent restrict a child's access to a PARENT'S PRE-EXSISTING iTunes account via iCloud's Family Sharing Program?

How can a parent restrict a child's access to a PARENT'S PRE-EXSISTING iTunes account via iCloud's Family Sharing Program?  To explain further... I have a young son who is on my iCloud family sharing program... I am excited to be able to share SOME of my music in my iTunes library, but there are some songs and music videos that are not age appropriate for him and currently there is no way to restrict him from viewing and downloading anything off of my iTunes library.  Yes, I suppose I can delete the songs he shouldn't have access to, but I don't think I should have to do that... I paid for them and still like them and listen to them while I work out or am without my kids.  Is there a way for me to personally select which songs/videos I would like to "hide" from my children in an effort to shield them from inappropriate content?

    Hello ggg39,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I understand that you have some content in your iTunes library that you would like to restrict access for the child set up on Family Sharing with you. To do this, you can set restrictions on the child’s device as described in the attached article.
    Family Sharing - Apple Support
Now kids under 13 can have their own Apple IDs. As a parent or legal guardian, the family organizer can create an Apple ID for a child and add the child to the family group automatically. Ask to Buy is turned on by default, and the organizer can also limit the content kids have access to on their devices through Restrictions on an iOS device or parental controls in OS X and iTunes.
For more information on restrictions and how to set them up, please reference the next attached article.
About Restrictions (parental controls) on iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support

I don't want to have to have more than one account that I have to monitor - technology is overwhelming enough to control with all the hackers and distasteful things on the web.

    Authorization applies ONLY to computers.
ipads/ipods/iphones/apple tvs are NOT authorized at all.

  • Is there a way of making the Edge Commons parallax effect work smoothly with DPS on the iPad?

I want to create a feature for an iPad magazine utilising the parallax effect shown here...
Parallax Scrolling Made Easy (Adobe Edge Animate Online Week, Episode 9) - YouTube
I am using Digital Publishing Suite to publish to an iPad.  I ran a test and the effect partially works, but not smoothly.
As you scroll down the animation does not play.  Once you finish scrolling the animation then jumps to whichever point has been reached on the timeline, rather than animating as you scroll down the page.
Is there a way to get the same animation effect through DPS that you see in the browser?  Or is it not compatible?
    Thanks!

    As lllaass said, you can't.
If you want Apple to add backgrounds to the iPad version, leave them feedback: http://apple.com/feedback/ipad.html.

  • My parents and I share itunes and their music keeps downlaoding onto my laptop and phone, is there any way to prevent this from happening?

My parents were too lazy and didnt know how to create their own itunes account. so I was wondering if either 1)there was a way to stop their music from geting on my laptop and phone,or 2) a way to transfer my perchases to a new itunes account. If anyone has any ideas besides burning everything to discs I'd love to hear it.

    Hey there 79usma79!
I have a couple of articles for you that can help you troubleshoot the issues you are seeing with iTunes on Windows XP. The first is a general troubleshooting article, which can be found right here:
iTunes for Windows XP: Troubleshooting unexpected quits, freezes, or launch issues
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1421
This article can help you find out if there are any conflicts between your copy of Windows XP and iTunes, and can tell you what to do if there are. Before going down the troubleshooting route though, you should take a look at this article, which can help you back up your entire iTunes library to an external hard drive, so if this issue is recurring, you will be able to restore from that backup and will not have to worry about losing your playlists or music again:
iTunes: Back up your iTunes library by copying to an external hard drive

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities!
