Paris Applestore?

My daughter will be spending the spring semester of 2007 in Paris. I've gotten her a MBP for christmas that she will use while there.
I looked online to try to find an Apple Store in France for her to take her MBP to in case she has any problems. However, I was unable to find one.
Does anybody know whether or not there are Apple Stores in France (specifically Paris)?
Thanks.
Maurice

I used to across the street from the repair store. It is near metro stop parmentier, on the same street. I am not absolutely certain that they are the store that do the repairs, but I went in there once to buy something, and it sure seemed like they were working on repairs and their doorfront says they do.
However, after living in france for a year, I pray to the computer gods that your daughter doesn't have to use their service. Other stores like Fnak or other stores who sell apple goods will blow your daughter off. There is no sense of customer service in general. When I had problems, I just waited until I went to Berlin to get it fixed--Apple store there is tres cool.
If your daughter does find herself needing help, make sure she always repeatedly asks up front that there won't be any cost to repair the computer.

Before I left for Paris, I added on a Global Service Package. I'm in PAris and can't make int'l calls, accept them, or access voice mail/email. How do I activate the service? I've tried to access LIVE CHAT but evidently they dont chat with overseas travelers. Can someone walk me through the process of doing-whater to my iphone 5 to activate/get/receive/turn on the global service I bought? (It even had a start date). Thanks!

Can I still use the phone in Boston when I move there?
Only on a supported GSM carrier.
Will there be networks I cant use?
    Yes. CDMA networks.
As I understand it the 4S supports GSM and CDMA networks worldwide.
No, you've misunderstood. The GSM iPhone you can buy in Ireland supports GSM networks only i.e. AT&T

  • New licensing for OWB 10g R2 (Paris)

    Hi,
Does anyone know how much the new licenses (per DB server CPU) for OWB 10g R2 (Paris) cost?
Is it correct that the features for the modeling of SCD 1 and 2 are not included in the basic "Core ETL Features"?
If I'm using the the SCD 2 features to develop the OWB mappings do I also need to license the "Enterprise ETL" for the production server?
Related to the previous question: for the production DB where I only need the runtime part of the repository is it required to license any options?
    Regards
    Maurice
PS: 2 links related to these questions:
    http://www.rittman.net/archives/2006/05/owb_10g_release_2_now_availabl.html
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/warehouse/htdocs/owb_10gr2_faq.htm#HowisOWBPackaged

Maurice, not sure what to say. If you've been using OWB, then you don't lose any functionality going to the new version, and it will be "free". You simply won't get any of the new functionality (all of the old functionality is included in the "core" features)
However, as I said in the other post, I hope Oracle reconsiders the SCD 1 / 2 / 3 licensing. To me, SCD type 2 are not "enterprise level" functionality - that is base level functionality for ANY data mart or data warehouse. I have no problems with paying for options the other ETL vendors are charging for (data quality comes to mind...), but if we deploy a large DW on a 32 processor box, paying for the Oracle licenses AND an addition $300,000+ for OWB functionality just to simplify SCD type 2, seems WAY overkill. Actually, in our project, we had pretty much settled on Oracle as the RDBMS for our DW, but if OWB is up in the air, we will probably open this up for an RFQ.

  • Experts VS Process Flows on OWB 10g Release 2 (Paris)

I was looking at the the new features list for OWB 10g Release 2 (Paris), and I notices the new feature called Experts. Does anyone have any insight into when an Expert would be used instead of a Process Flow? It doesn't look like Process Flows are going away, so I was trying to get a grasp of the use for Experts.
    From Here:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/warehouse/htdocs/owb10gr2%20new%20features.htm
Experts. Experts are solutions that enable advanced users to design solutions that simplify routine or complex tasks that end users perform in Warehouse Builder. You can design these solutions in the Expert Editor which resembles the Process Flow Editor and shares many of the same commands and navigational tools.

    Hi,
Just to start with the Experts capabilities, they can be used for designing schema objects.......I tried with an expert for sampling the source files, creating External Tables on top of it....validating and deploying..........itz very interesting to work with.........I am unable to see the practical use of this for end users.....
where as we all know, the PF can only be for executing the deployed objects.....

  • Availability of Macbook Pro in applestores

    Hi all!
I'm visiting the US from Greece, and I'm planning to get myself a Macbook pro. Does anybody know how can I check if the specific model of the pro I'm looking for is available at a specific Applestore? The one in Park City, Pennsylvania actually...
    Thanks!

If your visiting the area and have a friend there, have them walk into the Apple Store and get a buisness card from one of the reps, it will have the stores phone number on it which you can reserve the exact model you require. Trying to conact the Store in other ways routes you through the national number.
Mind you that not all models availalbe online, like the 7,200 RPM 500GB hard drive, are availabe in the Apple retail stores.
They can up the RAM in the store.
So concentrate on the CPU, GPU and model. The hard drive your can change later on your own.
If you purchase AppleCare, it has to be registered online with your home country address and be subjected to the laws and AppleCare  rules there, so investigate that. Becaues if you need to send it back and the address is in a country that Apple doesn't cover, then it can be a later ill  issue.
    Good luck

  • Do I need an adapter or converter to charge i-phone 3G in Paris

Do I need an adapter or converter to charge i-phone 3G in Paris?

All you need is an adaptor for the plug. The charger itself is a world charger & works everywhere.

  • I will be traveling to Rome and Paris.  I'm concerned about frying my IPad when charging the battery.  Will I need a converter/adapter to charge the battery or do I just need an adapter.

I will be traveling to Rome and Paris and I'm concerned about frying my iPad when charging.  Will I need a converter/adapter when charging or will I just use an adapter?

what RBRY says. Look at the fine print on your power brick. It says 100v-240v. This means it can handle world wattage.....both the us 110 and the UK/and other places 220. Anything that displays that range works anywhere in the world with the right plug adapter.
You can get plug adapters at walgreens, walmart, target, kmart, best buy, office max, office depot.....almost any major retailer. Look in the travel/luggage area.
Do some googling and find out what Italian plugs look like or you can simply find a kit that is a 'world wide' kit.

  • I had brought the Mac book pro 15 inch retinal display in nov. 2013 in USA. I lost my luggage in the flight transit at Paris CDG. Now I can't install windows 8.1 which I brought from same store frys at LA, USA. Pl. help. Thanks gyanesh

    Dear friends
I had brought this Mac book pro 15 inch retinal display and windows 8.1 and then I left to India my home place for vacation now my problem is during flight transit at Paris CDG. For flight change. My luggage got lost and I had to leave for India. On reaching I waited for 6 days daily going to the Mumbai airport and enquiry but now I am stuck I can't work using windows software s for designing engg.
Can someone tell me a better way how can I install windows if I don't have the driver CDs?
Thanks in advance.  Sb sob sob
    Pl. help. Thanks

Reinstall OSX using the online recovery.
Then use Boot Camp Assistant. One of the Boot Camp Assistant menu items is download the Windows Support Software (drivers). Make sure you follow the Boot Camp instructions.
Or, Reinstall OSX using the online recovery.
Then install a virtual machine like Parallels, Fusion, or VirtualBox. Then install Windows in the virtual machine.
You can use either Boot Camp or a virtual machine to install Windows. Neither method requires any driver cds.

  • Using Scheduling in OWB 10.2.0.1 (Paris)

Dear all after some clarification on the use of scheduling in OWB 10G R2. We have just installed this version but i have a couple of questions surrounding the scheduling, may i point out that i have no knowledge of schedling in OWB so am relying on the user manual. It states that in R2 for each project it creates by default a MY_CAL_MODULE where you can then create schedules. Having got 10G R2 installed i cant see either Calenders folder or this MY_CAL_MODULE it talks about. I must also point out that at this stage we do not have Workflow installed because R2 relies on 2.6.4 of workflow but we can only find 2.6.3 or 2.6.3.5 on OTN (we are waiting for an Orcale rep to confimr if 2.6.4 exists). My thoughts maybe that OWB gets its calender from workflow but this is an assumption. Is there anyone out there who has any experience of Scheduling mappings direct in OWB R2 Paris who could advise how it needs to be set up it would be very much appreciated

    Hello
Workflow is part of the actual database distro. It will be in the extras download, the same one where you would find HTML-DB
So for your version of database, locate the extras download, and you will find the small apache server, workflow db install, and mid tier along with html-db. Depending on your version of DB you need to install the apache server first, then workflow schema, then mid tier
If you get the client download for the db you have the option of installing the actual WF builder client.
There will be install docs too.

I've take a look and couldn't found any significant information in the log file, but we may try to see if this is the cause:
    oracle.wh.service.impl.assistant.DatabaseEngine.display(DatabaseEngine.java:391): Connection: host/port/serice_name = 127.0.0.1/1521/AMON2.ICONSULTING.BIZ

The bolded text is your DB connection info. Is it ok? Check your TNS_ADMIN directory and see the sqlnet.ora file. Are you using something like:
    NAMES.DEFAULT_DOMAIN = ICONSULTING.BIZ
Try to remove the domain from the connection info you provide when creating the repository. Another alternative is trying to create the OWB Repository from a remote machine. I believe you are running DB and OWB in the same box, since the HOST info in the log file is 127.0.0.1 (localhost).
