ParseInt into a string

Question

I'm trying to return a string (line 3) but I'm parsing an Int and getting an error.
How do I have it return a string instead of an Int and parse it?
strResult = JOptionPane.showInputDialog("Enter result of game (W for win, L for loss, D for draw:");
      R = Integer.parseInt(strResult);Obviously the entered variables will be either W, L, or D and none of these are Ints..it will return a string and I need to parse it for the output.

Here's the whole code...Im having trouble with line 42 ( R = Integer.parseInt(strResult);) parsing W, D or L as an Int and not as a string.
