Parsing HEX number from JTextField

Is there any way that I can parse hex number from JTextField?
I would like to input 0x1A or similar on JTextField and parse that with
int parsedInt = Integer.parseInt(JTextField.getText());
when I type numbers such as 1,2...and etc on the JTextField, the parseInt method works. But if I put 0x2A format, I will get errors.
Thanks

Thanks bbritta,
That is not exactly what I was looking for. The return output from that would be in decimal format. I am just looking to pass on the text including 0x so that I can pass it on to JNI. There, I will use that value with C++. Do you happened to know how to obtain entire text and then converting it to an integer? Thanks again.

  • Parsing expressions got from JTextField

    Hi all;
    I'm trying to implement an application to solve differential equations.
    I want the user to type his proposed function in a JTextField Component say for example: t*sin(10*y)*(t*t+2*y). then i want to be able to evaluate this function in my code so that i could do all the nessecary job to my function. I know that this topic has relation with parsing algorithms! i wonder if there is any efficient solution to this problem.
    thanks a lot for help!

  • How can i parse the number from the string each time automatic ?

    I have this two lines:
    last_file = fi[fi.Length - 1].FullName;
    string lastFileNumber = last_file.Substring(86, 6);
    In last_file i have: C:\\Users\\chocolade1972\\AppData\\Local\\mws\\My Weather Station\\radar_temp_directory\\radar000142.gif
    So i counted and found that the number in this case 000124 is starting from index 86 and length 6
    But for example on my brother pc the directory is shorter the name is not chocolade1972 so the index is incorrect.
    It's not 86.
    How can i use the Substring to find the correct index every time on any pc that have a differenet directory length ?
    In this case it's working fine on my pc for any image i can get the number no problems. But i want it to work also on other pc's.

    You can use Regex to match the filename you want.
    Like Giovhan suggested you can first get the filename like:
    string result;
    result = Path.GetFileName(fileName);// in your example result = radar000142// in my regex I assume that a file can have a number of digits between 5 to 7 digits.Regex filenameRegex = new Regex("\d{5,7}");string number = filenameRegex.Match(result).Value;// by that way you can retrieve all numbers between 5 to 7 digits regardless of filename whether contains all 6 digits// or file that may contain 5 or 7 digits // You can play with the Regex code to decrease or increase number of digits by changing the numbers

  • How do I convert an array of BYTES (where each BYTE represents a bit) into a single Hex number?

    I am reading a signal from a USB-8451. This signal is stored as an array where each element represents a bit in the signal, but is stored in the array as a byte. How do I convert this array into a single Hex number. I attatched what I have so far, there are a few extra things to help me see what ia going on. One code uses Queue and the other uses arrays, let me know if you can help.

Trithfully I don't really know how I2C devices work, but my mentor here says that we can't use an I2C method becuase it will introduce voltage into the circuit and may damage out TCON chip.
    That makes absolutely no sense. What do you think is happening when you write the digital lines? You're setting a pin high. That voltage is being generated by the 8451x. I think you're not understanding what your mentor is saying. If it's an I2C device then you should be able to use the I2C function to simply talk to it. You still have not indicated what the device is, so there's little more I can say about that aspect of it.
    As far as the conversion is concerned, you basically need loop through your array of "bits", taking 16 at time since you said you have 16-bit values. It's not clear from your code whether your eventual goal is to get a numeric value or a string. This does not appear to be a subVI, so a simply numeric indicator formatted to display in hex format should be quite adequate. The array you are generating is an array of rings, whose datatype is I32, but they will have values of 0 or 1. You can use the example just posted, or you can use the attached variation.

  • How can I convert an ASCII string of variable length to a HEX number?

    Hello,
    I read data from the serial port 5 times in a second (while loop) and the number of bytes read varies every time.
    The data comes in as ASCII string, and I can see the HEX representation if I connect a HEX string indicator, but I need to permanently convert data to a HEX number.
    How can that be done?

  • Adding caller with name and number from call list to the contact list only inserts the number and not the name

    I recently bought a BlackBerry Z10 and moved my cell service to Rogers to take advantage of the name display service offered by Rogers (Fido also offers this service).
    Due to the number of calls that I receive from first time clients, I wanted the name display service to help me know who was calling. Evidently it is impossible to add clients to my contact list before they call me so I'm constantly seeing numbers that have no name to help me decide if I want to answer the call.
    When I try to add a caller from my call list to my contact list, only the number gets inserted in the new contact. The name needs to be entered manually.
    I understand and realize that not all call display formats are the same and that it's virtually impossible to parse the first and last names from the name portion of the caller id.
    However, I would like to see BlackBerry add the functionality to insert the name portion of the call entry from the caller list to a "Nickname" entry in the contact list just like it adds the number to a "Home", "Mobile", or "Work" entry in the contact list.
    If a user doesn't have a name display service, there would be no change to how their contacts are added because there is no name variable to copy over.
    Can someone from BlackBerry please let me know if this feature can be added to BB10 and when it can be added? For me it's an obvious feature that should just work.
    I am really enjoying my Z10 but I'm feeling let down that something so logical and helpful is not supported out of the box.
    Regards,
    Marc

    Hey ViciousFerret,
    It appears that you are not aware of the fact that both Rogers and Fido offer name AND number display service (although the name display feature is an add-on service) and have been offering it for many years (since 2006). Here is a link to the name display service description of each provider...
    http://www.fido.ca/web/content/manageyourcalls/calldisplay&lang=en
    http://www.rogers.com/business/on/en/smallbusiness/products/wireless/addons/valuepacks/
    As you can see from the link below, Rogers and Fido have been offering this service since 2006.
    http://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20060914005951/en/Teams-HP-Rogers-Wireless-Fido-Succeed-North
    My BlackBerry Z10 shows both the name and number when someone calls (and the caller is not in my contact list).
    All I would like is for the Z10 (and Q10) to support the addition of the name and number from the caller list to my contact list without me having to type the name. As I mentioned in my original post, to avoid the OS having to parse the first name and last name from the name portion of the caller list entry the name could simply be added to the contact list as a "Nickname". If your provider only has number display, nothing would have to be copied from the name variable in the caller list to the contact list.
    I find it difficult to believe that BlackBerry would not be aware of this name display service since it's been around since 2006 with both Rogers and Fido.
    I hope I have clarified the reasons why I would like to have this feature added to BB10 and how it's surprising that this simple feature is not already a part of the BB10 OS.
    Either way, I don't think this is a difficult feature for the BlackBerry team to add. They're just copying a 2nd variable from the caller list to the contact list.
    I'm surprised that Rogers hasn't asked BlackBerry to add this feature to their phones. I think it would be a popular feature for those who receive a high number of calls from first time callers.
    How can I get this feature request to BlackBerry for their consideration?
    Cheers,
    Marc

    I need to wipe my phone number from the Apple iMessage server to when I receive messages from iPhone users the message isn't parsed into 5 or more separate messages.  I turned off FaceTime and iMessages on my old iPhone 4

    If you deactivated iMessage already successfully, then your contacts who use iPhones will need to erase any existing conversation with you and start a new one - that should fix the problem with fragmented messages.

  • In XI mapping, how to get number from a number_range object in SAP R/3

    HI All,
    I have a scenario where I need to read a Number_range object  in SAP R/3 or ABAP XI and retreive the current number.
    I need to use this number during the message mapping.
    (I read about JCO and RFC, but am a little confused about how-to and what is the correct approach)
    Just to let you know, I do not want to pass this number in the original IDOC coming from IDOC, so I need this lookup.

    Get the latest number from SNRO( number-range object)
    Use this number in mapping.

    While uploading a file into the DB, It is promting an error: "ORA-01465: invalid hex number"
    how to convert a binary data to hex format in this case.

    Hello again,
    Ok, to upload into the database through APEX, using the file browser, you need to do the following:
    1. Create the file browser item on your page.
    2. Create a page process that is executed on the SUBMIT button.
    The code should be something like this:
    IF ( :P1_FILE_NAME is not null ) THEN
      INSERT INTO oehr_file_subject(id,NAME, SUBJECT, BLOB_CONTENT, MIME_TYPE)
      SELECT ID,:P1_FILE_NAME,:P1_SUBJECT,blob_content,mime_type
         FROM APEX_APPLICATION_FILES
       WHERE name = :P1_FILE_NAME;
      DELETE from APEX_APPLICATION_FILES WHERE name = :P1_FILE_NAME;
    END IF;{size:14}Files uploaded through the file browser are inserted into APEX_APPLICATION_FILES and need to be copied into your file.
    Be sure to include a column in your table for the filename in {color:green}FILENAME.EXT{color} format so that the system will know how to handle the file when you try to download.

    Can someone please tell me why I am getting "ORA-0464-Invalid hext number" error?

    After that, any other attempts to copy from db to folder resulted to error above.
    I am having difficulty wrapping my head around this error.

    I don't know what to tell you.
    Other than to ask you to please tell me what you saw in the code that convinced you otherwise.
    The one thing I would like to add was that after I executed the code twice, as indicated above, the users asked me if it was possible to grab all the files instead of grabbing the one file at a time as the code shows, I created a different stored proc that has rowid in the WHERE clause.
    I ran the code and it got pretty much every file from the db.
    Problem was that for some reason, it was changing the files to .txt file.
    I decided to go back to using the code I posted above and that's when I started getting the invalid hex number error.
    Does this make more sense?
    Somehow, it seems to me, the code with the ROWID is still somewhere is interferring with this stored proc.
    This purely a guess.

    Hi,
    The problem probably lies in the function DECRYPT_PASS.
    Can you post the code behind it or is it sensible material?
    Some sample data would help as well.

    Hi,
    If you try it with a button and a navigation outcome, how does it behave? without any parameters.
    With this setActionListener, I think that you are setting the current row to the iterator of the current page and not to the iterator of the page you want to navigate.
    This seems to be logical since another iterator will be initialised in the other page.
    You need to pass the currentRow Key to the other page and then call the the setCurrentRowWithKey to that page's iterator.
    You can easily do this by adding an Action operation in the pageDefinition of the second page.
    This action will be the iterator's setCurrentRowWithKey or setCurrentRowWithKeyValue.
    Then you have to make this action to be executed every time you enter the page.
    I dont know if you are using any taskFlows so, add an invoke Action on the second pageDef that will point to the action you created previously.
    The only thing left is how to pass the current Row Key, but more information is needed in order to know if you are using any taskFlows and if you can hold the Key to some pageFlowScope variable.
    Hope this will help you.
    Regards,
    Dimitris.

  • Hex input from string problem

    Hi!
    Whenever I try to input a hex integer by readLine method

    Hi...
    Have you tried using the static method decode in the Integer class?
    I don't know if this is where you're goign with this problem but try this (I assume you read a line, parse it, and then stuff the hex number string you want to decode into a temporary String variable)
    String tempNumber = //your BufferedReader readline stuff here...
    try {
        int hexNumber = Integer.decode (tempNumber);
        //do futher processing here
    catch (NumberFormatException e) {

  • How do I add multiple tickets under the same confirmation number from the American Airlines app to Passbook?

    I have a confirmation number from American Airlines for a flight with my family all under my name and for some reason I cannot add all of our tickets to Passbook. To clarify, I went to the American Airlines app and put in the confirmation number along with my name which pulled up my boarding pass only. Although I was able to add this boarding pass to Passbook, I was not able to add any of the other boarding passes for my children to Passbook that should have also been under the flight reservation. In fact I couldn't even see them in the American Airlines app. I tried to use their names and the same confirmation number but nothing happened, and nothing else seems to be working. How can I add all of these boarding passes to my Passbook?

    Fair enough.
    I started doing this before unlimited data and emails on phones was a common commodity, on my Samsung Blackjack.
    I then continued it due to its convenience. My only counter argument is this:
    Even when emails are set to immediately push, I am always notified earlier by this forwarding message (sometimes by several minutes/hours due to the fact that it is not dependent on my being connected to 4G or wifi to receive it.
    Also, to contradict snozdop's point that both methods use data and battery, I say this - when I use the forwarding method, the information comes in a pure text format and therefore uses considerably less information than an HTML and CSS rich email, with embedded images and such -also, unlimited text messages aids curve costs.
    I will, however, give this method a go. In any case, a solution to my original question would still be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks guys.
