Partial delivery of PO in 3rd party sales

These are open-end questions frm a student in SAP SD..
1. Can the customer be invoiced if the vendor does a partial delivery of the customers order ? If so, how is it done & what are the procedure for the same ? Or shd we wait till the vendor delivers 100% of the order to raise the invoice on the customer ?
2. What is the account process in 3rd part sales ie a flow of a/c postings??

Jeslimen,
These will be the account posting in Third Party process :
The process of third party is :
1. Vendor delivers the goods to customer :
Customer Account : DR ( As customer has to Pay you )
Vendor Account    : CR ( As you have to Pay customer)
2. You receipt goods virually :
        during Goods Receipt
         Stock Account - Dr
         G/R I/R Account  -  Cr
3: You sent invoice to customer:
The following entries shall be passed
Customer Account      Dr
Revenue                    Cr
You can always follow the rule : " DEBIT what Comes in CREDIT what Goes Out"

Raja

  • One line item delivery for 3rd party sales order

    Hello Experts,
We have configured a 3rd party sales order process where the PR gets created. We are using scheduling agreement(PO) and creating Schedule line and doing a GR for partial line items.  The stock is recieved as a Sales Order stock.
But when i create a Sales Delivery the delivery document copies all the line items (ieven for the ones which we don't have GR)  from the sales order and we have to manually delete the line items from delivery doc.
Is there a way i can restrict the delivery document to only copy the line items from the sales order  for which the sales order stock is available? If so how can we do that?
    Appreicate your help.

    Hello All,
We have configured a 3rd party sales order process. The schedule line category is configured with account assignment categoory as "M". when we are creating GR the Moving average price of the material  is not getting updated.
But if i replace with "E" it is getting updated, but the CO-PA is not getting generated for Profitability segment reporting.--we need profitability segment reportng.
Can some one tell me how we can update the moving average price using acc. asssignment category type "M" at the same time the Profitability segement information is updated.

  • Departure country determination for 3rd party sales order

    Hello,
We are creating a 3rd party sales order and using dummy plants and dummy shillping point. we do not have plants abroad activated.
While creating the intercompany billing doc the departure country is not picked up correctly since we have dummy plant and shipping point.
We want the departure country to be same as suppliers country. and we do not know the supplier details at the point of sales order creation.
what can we do to get the correct departure country during intercompany billing?
    Regards,
    Shilpa

You can go through OSS  Note 308989 - Consulting note for cross-company transactions, which provides details on cross-company with 3rd party sales process. Make sure that the delivery plant added in the sales order is assigned to the cross company code.

  • How to do a 3rd party sales process

How to do 3rd party sales process.....
plz reply me with the full configuration.....

    THIRD PARTY SCENARIO
in third-party order processing, your company does not deliver the items requested by a customer. Instead, you pass the order along to a third-party vendor who then ships the goods directly to the customer and bills you. A sales order may consist partly or wholly of third-party items. Occasionally, you may need to let a vendor deliver items you would normally deliver yourself.
    Process Flow
the processing of third-party orders is controlled via material types. Material types define whether a material is produced only internally can be ordered only from third-party vendors, or whether both are possible. For example, a material that is defined as a trading good can only be ordered from a third-party vendor. However, if you manufacture your own finished products, you may also want, from time to time, to be able to order the same type of product from other vendors.
    Processing Third-Party Orders in Sales
Third-party items can be created automatically by the system, depending on how your system is set. However, you can also change a standard item to a third-party item during sales processing manually.
    Automatic third-party order processing:-
if a material is always delivered from one or more third-party vendors, you can specify in the material master that the material is a third-party item. During subsequent sales order processing, the system automatically determines the appropriate item category for a third-party item: TAS. To specify a material as a third-party item, enter BANS in the Item category group field in the Sales 2 screen of the material master record.
    Manual third-party order processing
In the case of a material that you normally deliver yourself but occasionally need to order from a third-party vendor, you can overwrite the item category during sales order processing. For a material that you normally deliver yourself, you specify the item category group NORM in the material master.
If, as an exception, you use a third-party material, change the entry TAN to TAS in the ItCa field when processing the sales document. The item is then processed as third-party item.
If address data for the ship-to party is changed in the sales order in third-party business transactions, the changed data will automatically be passed on to purchase requisition and also to the purchase order ,if one already exists. In the purchase order, you can display the address data for the ship-to party in the attributes for the item.
You can only change the address data for the ship-to party in the sales order for third-party business transactions, and not in the purchase order.
    Processing Third-Party Orders in Purchasing
when you save a sales order that contains one or more third-party items, the system automatically creates a purchase requisition in Purchasing. Each third-party item in a sales order automatically generates a corresponding purchase requisition item. During creation of the requisition, the system automatically determines a vendor for each requisition item. If a sales order item has more than one schedule line, the system creates a purchase requisition item for each schedule line.
Purchase orders are created from purchase requisitions in the usual way. For more information about creating purchase orders, see the Purchasing documentation. During creation of the purchase order, the system automatically copies the delivery address of your customer from the corresponding sales order. In a sales order, you can enter purchase order texts for each third-party item. When you create the corresponding purchase order, the texts are automatically copied into the purchase order. The number of the purchase order appears in the document flow information of the sales order.
All changes made in the purchase order are automatically made in the sales order as well. For example, if the vendor confirms quantities and delivery dates different from those you request and enters them in the purchase order, the revised data is automatically copied into the sales order
you process third-party items by creating a normal sales order. In overview for the order, you can then overwrite the default item category (TAN in the standard system) with the special item category for third-party items: TAS
    Billing Third-Party Orders
If relevance for billing indicator for the item category has been set to B (relevant for order-related billing on the basis of the order quantity) in Customizing, the system includes the order in the billing due list immediately. If, however, the indicator has been set to F (relevant to order-related billing on the basis of the invoice quantity), the system does not include the order in the billing due list until an invoice from the vendor has been received and processed by the purchasing department. In the standard system, item category TAS (third-party order processing) has been given billing-relevance indicator F.
In the first case, the third-party order is considered to be completely billed only when the invoiced quantity equals the order quantity of the sales order item. In the second case, each time a vendor invoice is received, a customer invoice is created for the quantity in the vendor invoice and the order is considered to be fully invoiced until the next vendor invoice is received.
If you have activated billing-relevance indicator F for item categories in Customizing, billing can refer to the goods receipt quantity instead of the incoming invoice quantity.
You can control whether the invoice receipt quantity or the quantity of goods received is relevant for billing in Customizing for copying control for billing at item level.
FOR YOUR PROCESS Individual Purchase Orders WELL GIVE THE RIGHT SOLUTION
Individual purchase orders are used when your customer orders goods from you that are not in stock and must be ordered from one or more external vendors.
    Process Flow
During sales order entry, the system automatically creates a purchase requisition item. The purchasing department creates a purchase order based on the requisition and the vendor ships the goods directly to you (unlike third party order processing, where the vendor ships directly to your customer). You then ship the goods to your customer. While the goods are part of your inventory, you manage them as part of the sales order stock. Sales order stock consists of stock that is assigned to specific sales orders and cannot be used for other purposes.
Process Flow for 3rd Party Sales
Customize the third party sales in summary:
    Prerequisites for 3rd party sales,
    Purchasing org,
    purchasing group,
assign the Purchase org to company code
    assign Purchase org to plant,

    1. Create Vendor XK01
    2. Create Material – Material Type as "Trading Goods". Item category group as "BANS".
    3. Assign Item Category TAS to Order type that you are going to use.
    4. A sale order is created and when saved a PR is generated at the background
    5. With reference to SO a PO is created (ME21N). The company raises PO to the vendor.
    6. Vendor delivers the goods and raises bill to company. MM receives the invoice MIRO
    7. Goods receipt MIGO
    8. Goods issue
    9. The item cat TAS or Schedule line cat CS is not relevant for delivery which is evident from the config and, therefore, there is no delivery process attached in the whole process of Third party sales.

  • Changes Allowed on the 3rd Party Sales Order when PO is created

    Hello,
We have a requirement to change the Sales Order even if the PO is already created for teh 3rd party order. I am not sure which fields and what changes can we do if the PO is already created for the 3rd Party sales order.
Can you please guide me in pointing to the configuration or any user exit that we can control the field changes on the 3rd party sales order when teh PO is already created.
    Thank you!
    Chandrakant

    Venu,
FIRST ANSWER THE BELOW TWO QUESTIONS.
    1. Did you understand what Shiva has mentioned?
He has clearly mentioned that  you can change the PO qty and in standard it self the same PO changed  qty will be reflected in Sales order schduline lines qty, and he also mentioned that if this is not happening then advised to refer the Note 1361281.
    2. Did you read the note?
It says that It will occur if the sales order line item is part of the delivery group or if you have set the complete delivery indicator for the sales order. And it also advised to apply the program code to over come the issue.
Please note: before commenting others just check once in system then talk, don't just blindly through the ball, it will not have good results.
Before also mentioned the same, but you still repeating the same.
Sorry Moderators that i have mentioned some lines in the Note here.
    thanks,
    Srinu.

  • 3rd Party Sales Issue

    Dear Guru's
We have a process for creating 3rd Party Sales Order which use the standard TAS item category. SO is created and we then manually create a Purchase Order based on the Pur Req created when the Sales Order was saved. This all works fine. When we get the Vendors Invoice we post the Invoice via MIRO, again this is OK when the qty matches the Sales Order qty. If the vendor part delivers ie 10 out of 20, when the Sales Order Billing document is created, the Status of the Sales Order is set to Complete. Read some of the threads it would appear it should go to BILLED until the last Vendor Invoice comes in.
Has anyone got any thoughts on what the problem might be, or is this a SAP standard issue?
    Many Thanks
    Paul Gray

    Hi Ravi
I am a bit confused now.
The process we have is to Create Sales Order with Item cat TAS and then link to a 3rd party PO. At the point the SO line Status is "Open". So Qty is 10
If I then us MIRO to create a GR-IV for a Partial Qty IE 5 and Half the Value of the SO. This works OK and the SO Line Status is still "Open".
Then Using VF01 to Create a Billing Doc, the Bill Doc is created with a Qty of 5 and the correct Value. However, the SO line Status has now changed to "Completed", even though I still have 5 Outstanding.
If I then do the remaining GR-IV the SO line Status changes again to "In Progress" and upon creation of Billing Doc changes again to "Completed".
Its the first part that cause me an Issue as we run several reports based on the Status and these Part Invoiced once show as Complete. As we still have material to deliver I would expect the Status to stay as Open or In Progress and not "Completed".
Do you know if this is Standard SAP and If so is there a work around?
    Many Thanks

  • 3rd Party Sales Configuration

    Hi Gurus,
Please help me with the Standard 3rd Party sales Scenario configuration in SAP
Conceptually I a mclear with the process, but how do we map it in SAP.
I tried doing it by manually changing the item category to TAS, and then doing billing, but the log says item category not relevant for billing.
Should I create a new sales order document type with default Item Category as TAS??
Is it possible to have  a TAS in std order type 'OR' with other item categories as TAN ?
    Shall appreciate quick help.
    Thanks in advance.
    Thanks
    Raheel

Understand the Business process to the core then apply that to SAP.
    Thrird party business would be
    1. You have to give a commodity / product to a customer , which you do not manufacture , so you ask one of your vendors to deliver the same to the customer on your behalf and finally you bill the customer and give the mone to vendor.
Configuration again in the forom if you will search will get through
    material ->item category group: bans
so item category will be tas in sales order.
Step1: create the sales order which will automatically generate the PR
Step 2: Take the PR and create the PO
Step 3: Go a PO based LIV.
    Step4: Bill the sales order.
There is no GRN and outbound delivery.
    Thanks !

  • 3rd party sales order (GL posting)

I have posted this thread in Sales forum but did not receive answer. need help urgently.
i have configured 3rd party sales order where when user enter item category as TAB, PR will automatically be created and GR goes into sales order stock in MMBE.
however, user wants the COGS during GI for this 3rd party sales goes to a separate GL account.
where can i maintain the GL account?
i have tried using obyc and simulate it in omwb however, it affects even the normal sales order since it follows the standard key combination. i'd like to know where to maintain the GL account when the stock is issued from the sales order stock in mmbe.
when i simulate through omwb, and enter the movement type 601, there seems to be 1 option for sales order (GD delivery sls.ord.) however not sure where to maintain the GL for this option.
    many thanks.

    Hi,
As per MM scenario While creating the Purchase Requisition manual or automatic system need to select Account assignment " 1 " Third-party" after Purchase order will generate based on PO receiving the good but in this scenario the material will dispatch in customer direct so inventory will not update
please cross check the config setting in this area SPRO->Sales and Distribution -> Basic Functions -> Account Assignment/Costing -> Revenue Account Determination

Third party order processing is as follows:
    Assume three companies X, Y and Z
    X - The company,
    y - The customer
    Z - Vendor
When ever X gets a PO from Y to supply some goods, X has an option of either manufacturing those goods or procuring those goods.
If he is procuring the goods, there are two methods that are generally followed:
Method 1) After receiving the PO from Y, X creates a sales order against Y.
Now at the same time he also creates a PO to a vendor Z to produce the goods
Z produces the goods and supplies to X
X receives the goods from Z
Then X delivers the same goods to Y.
    After that X invoices Y and Z invoices X.
Note : Here there is no direct/ Indirect relation between Z and Y.
This process is known as Trading Process. and the Material here is created with Material type HAWA.
The other method is a Third party order processing method:
Here the glaring difference is that instead of Z supplying the material to X and X in turn supplying the same material to Y.
X authorizes Z to supply the material to Y on his behalf and notify him once the delivery is complete.
Now Z supplies the material to Y and acknowledges the same to X.
Z will send a copy of delivery acknowledgement and invoice to X.
After receiving the delivery confirmation and invoice from Z, X has to verify the invoice and this process is known as invoice verification and is done in SAP through Tcode MIRO.
The next step for X is to create an invoice and submit to Y
Only after the invoice verification document is posted then only X can create an invoice for Y.
This is the business flow that is followed for third party order configuration.
There are few steps that have to be configured to enable the system to function as mentioned above.
    Step1)
If you are always following a third party process for a material then you have to create the material using item category group BANS.
The procurement type should be marked as External procurement (F) in MRP 2 view of the material master record.
if you are not always allowing third party order processing then u can create a material master record with item category group as NORM and the procurement type should be marked as ( X) meaning both types of procurement ( in house manufacturing and external procurement).
    Step 2)
the item category in the order should be manually changed as TAS.
For that you need to configure the item category determination
Order type + item cat Group + Usage + High level = Item cat + Manual item cat
    OR + NORM + + = TAN + TAS
    OR + BANS + + = TAS
    Step 3)
make sure that during the item category configuration for TAS you need to mark relevant for billing indicator as F
    step 4)
The schedule line category for this type should be CS.
make sure that you mark subsequent type as NB - purchase requisition in this schedule line category as this will trigger the purchase requisition order immediately after the creation of the sales order and the PO to vendor is created against this purchase requisition
Hope this will help you alot and Please Reward If Really Helpful,
    Cheers,
    Govind.

  • How to know Delivery Note no. for Third Party sales

    Hello Experts,
I am configuring Third party sales process.and got the suffcient help from old posts. But i got stuck in MIGO step. While doing MIGO we have to enter PO and Delivery Note No so where to find delivery note no.?
Another confusion is, In some of the posts in community, for third party sales configuratuion MIGO is one of the step while in other similar posts there is no MIGO step instead they have shown direct MIRO after PO creation so which i should follow ?
    Thanks in advance
    Regards,
    Vikal

Do you really just follow what others have posted and do not double check with the SAP documentation and even more important with your business needs and some logical thoughts?
In all our >750 plants is a guy who receives the material that is coming in, he compares the paperwork with the goods and then enters the receipt in SAP.
This is the normal and logical process of a receipt in your warehouse.
And now compare this with a 3rd party sales, where the goods are shipped from your vendor directly to your customer.
The warehouse guy does not get any papers from a truck driver, he can't count any goods before he could do something in SAP, he does not even know about this order. And exact this situation is the basis for the standard design: no goods receipt, just invoice.
And any deviation is made because of some special requirements (legal and country specific, or just because of an almighty finance department which can't understand that some of their requirements do not make much sense in logistics. e.g. mandatory 3way matches PO - GR - IR which is not worth the name if you force warehouse people to make theoretical receipts which physically never happened and cannot be verified.

  • How to Prevent Workflow when Automatic PO created in 3rd Party Sales

    Hello,
We have set up a special Sales Document Type for the purpose of 3rd party sales. The item category is TAS, so the Purchase requisition gets created automatically.
The problem is that when the Sales Order is saved, it starts a Business Workflow and sends an email to our EDI Technical Team.  We want to disable the workflow functionality in this sales document because it is not needed.
Is there a way to disable ALE for a sales document type?
    Thanks very much!

On creating Purchase order for requirement created for a customer sales order stock, if the customer sales order stock is not valuated, this means a Consumption ( GBB ) account is involved here. If the posting is a consumption account, SAP allows the user to decide whether it should be autotmatically or manually entered. Because of this option, system need this account to be set with Field 'Automatic posting only' to ' '.
With this field  'Automatic posting only' setting to ' ', whether the account can be automatically or manually entered is then controlled by the field status in the PO creation. If you do not want the user to enter the account manually, then this account should be set to display mode in PO.
If the customer sales order stock is valuated, then in General business process, this would involve a BSX ( material account )
postings. Normally this is automatically derived during PO creations. No manual enterring is allowed. Thus if it is correct to set this account with field Automatic posting only' setting to 'X' in FI settings.

  • 3rd Party Sales::Create Automatic PO in Item Cat vs. in SL Catgy

    Hi All,
I've a query regd the 3rd party sales order processing.
There is an indicator at item category level, we've an indicator 'Create PO Automatic'.
Also, at Schedule Line category level, for CS, we've indicators for Order Type as NB and Item category as 5(Third-party).
Can somebody explain the importance of each and the relevant settings required to configure 3rd party sales?
Also, how to configure to trigger automatic PO?
    Rgds,

  • The item is not relevant for billing. 3rd Party Sale

    Hello, experts,
I have met a problem in 3rd party sale scenario. Here is the situation:
    1. I have created a sales order using a 3re party item (item category: tas and billing type: order-related billing). And the PR is generated successfully at the schedule line level.
    2. In the next step, I have created PO with reference to this PR.
    3. As in my situation, the items are sent to customer by vendor directly, there is no need to maintain MIGO and MIRO.
    4. I try to creat billing with reference to the sales order and here appears the error. The log shows:
"The item is not relevant for billing."
There are actually many threads in the forum and I have tried much of them.
I have checked firstly in VOV8 the sales order type->the order-related billing type for OR(standard sales order) is F2.
VOV7 the item category type->tas billing relevance: F (order-related billing)
VTFA the copy control->F2 with OR and in the item level, the item category tans is also maintained.
I can not decide where the problem is. Any idee?
    Thanks,
    Fan

    Hi
    3. As in my situation, the items are sent to customer by vendor directly, there is no need to maintain MIGO and MIRO.
    This statement is absolutely wrong
MIGO is optional in third party transactions and MIRO is a Must
Third party item cat billing relevance is F
F: Order-related billing doc. - status according to invoice quantity
Relevant for order-related billing documents based on the invoice receipt quantity (third-party business transaction). The system transfers the order into the billing due list only after the vendor invoice has been received and processed in the purchasing department. After the receipt of each invoice, a  customer invoice is created for the quantity that appears on the vendor invoice. The order has status "Billed" until the next vendor invoice is received.
Item category TAS (Third party item) is set up with billing relevance "F" in the standard system.
This is the SAP explanation of F billing relevance
Maintain the copy control settings in VTFA as suggested by the other friend
Without MIRO you cannot invoice the customer in third party
