Partial downloads podcasts deleting

How do you delete a partial downloaded podcast from iphone

If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copies of the tracks and try redownloading fresh copies. For instructions, see the following document:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the items that are not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the items, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" links next to the items.

  • Partially downloaded podcasts

I've been getting a lot of partially downloaded podcasts in iTunes. They podcasts are supposed to be 55 minutes long, but often only 20 seconds or 20 minutes or so of the podcast gets downloaded. I do not see any obvious way to "re-download" the podcasts inside iTunes. The specific podcast this is happening with is "Catholic Answers - LIVE". Does anyone have any idea how I could resolve this problem? (Or at least come up with a workaround).
    Thanks!
    -Paul

I'm glad I'm not the only one with this problem. I should clarify it too. Catholic Answers publishes two podcast episodes per day, and 9 times out of 10, my Mac downloads them without any issues. But once in a while it fails to download the complete episode. I'm pretty sure my internet connection is reliable because I use it for tons of other things and have no problems with it. It seems like a software issue (iTunes simply times out and doesn't have the robustness to reliably download). All of this started happening after I upgraded to iTunes 7.

  • How to Reload a Partially Downloaded Podcasts??

Occasionally an podcast in one of my iTunes podcast subscriptions is only partially downloaded due to a connection or network problem.
Is there a way to instruct iTunes to reload it so the full podcast can be obtained? I have not found one. Thanks

I use a similar jury rigged solution. I simply delete the podcast subscription with the partial download and resubscribe through the iTunes store or the producers website.
I wish Apple would include a reload capability in the right-click menu that deleted the partial podcast and its record in the corresponding subscription counter. I'm sure it will come in time.

  • Can't restore a partially downloaded podcast item

I lost connection to a program in a podcast and it only partially downloaded. I deleted the item, and now I can't seem to restore the download. It is a recent episode -- any way to make iTunes "forget" that I already downloaded and deleted it? If not, what is the proper way to restore a failed podcast download??

    dmaestro,
    Welcome to Discussions,
What worked for me is the next:
Select the Podcast and click the 'Unsubscribe' button.
The button will change it's text to 'Subscribe'.
    Click on it again.
Open the Podcast directory (click on the small triangle in front of the name).
The missing episode should have appeared now.
Click on the 'Get' button to download it.
    Hope this helps.

  • Itunes is constantly downloading podcasts, deleting them, and redownloading them. How can i stop this?

Itunes downloaded 122gb in a single day last month, which pushed me well over my internet data cap. My podcasts are set to keep all unplayed podcasts, and to automatically download the most recent ones. These settings are what I've used successfully for close to two years now.
Today I installed Windows 8 RP, hoping to resolve the issue (and of course play more with W8RP). Started it up, subscribed to a podcast, the newest episode was downloaded (i had watched it on their website previously), i right clicked it and selected 'mark as played', it disappeared and was not redownloaded. As intended. So then i subscribed to my other 30ish podcasts and observed the downloads page in itunes for a bit. One completed, disappeared and never reappeared anywhere. It wasnt in podcasts at all. I waited for another one to complete, same thing happened. But when it disappeared from the downloads queue, the first one reappeared at the bottom of the downloads queue.
Any idea what's going on? googling didnt help in the slightest.

Your post creates more questions than I could imagine possible.

So, you are trying to use Windows 8 to resolve the issue of going over your data cap, is that correct? (Surely not!) But, watching, so it's a video - and then letting iTunes download the same video as a Podcast is the reason you're going over your data cap, isn't it?
But frankly, I'm confused about the nature of your issue. Is it that you go over your data cap, or that iTunes (and I have to assume you mean iTunes and not Windows 8 [RP]) is downloading the same Podcast twice?
Why do you need to manually set a Podcast to "mark as played", iTunes will do that for you when the Podcast ends? What has Windows 8 got to do with any of this?
And why are you subscribing to your other 30ish Podcasts after downloading Windows 8 (yet more of your data usage allowance)? You imply that you regularly listen (or watch) these Podcasts, so presumably you are already subscribed to them, so why subscribe again? Are you doing this in Windows 8 as well as iTunes?
Sorry if I sound negative; perhaps it's me, but I really don't understand what exactly you are doing, which suggests that whatever it is, is the reason for your issues. Maybe someone else will see the light and add to this post and sort out your problems, but if not, then perhaps it's because they are as confused as I am and can offer no useful advice.

  • Is it possible to view a partially downloaded podcast? (or other file)

I'm on satellite and have daily download limit, but wanted to watch the part of the podcast I was able to download. I have a 250MB mp4 file which opens in quicktime with an error message. Is there a workaround that will let me watch the downloaded portion?

Press F11 or select "Full screen" from the menu. (If there are still toolbars floating around after that, right-click on the toolbar and remove the corresponding checkbox.)

  • Podcasts only partially downloaded

    Hello,
Lately, iTunes has been labeling partially downloaded podcasts as complete and refuses to resume downloading. The particulars of the problem are as follows. I have a very slow internet connection at my home. iTunes will often start downloading podcasts while I'm at home. When I take my computer to work, the downloads are stopped and the episodes are marked as new and complete in the list of podcasts. If I try to "Update podcast", nothing is downloaded. This is annoying, since I have about the first three minutes of all of my favorite podcasts, most of which are an hour or so in length. I have tried pausing downloads before disconnecting my computer from the internet at my house, but they are not in the list of downloads anymore when I check later at work. Any suggestions on how to get iTunes to download the rest of these podcast episodes?
    Thanks,
    Adrian

This question isn't actually answered, but these forums will keep telling me about it until I lie and say that it's answered.

  • TS2743 I am trying to remove a half downloaded podcast on my Ipad2. it's stuck in download mode, how do I remove it?

I was looking for DJ-Eros podcasts and was able to partially download three before I got a error that says unable to download this time. I would like to be able to remove the half downloads on my Ipad 2 but it seems I cant. I have done a soft reboot and that didn't help. TIA

My guess is that the partially downloaded Podcasts need to be deleted from the iPad and then start the download again. I say this because in iTunes, the Podcast downloads are in a Download folder until complete and then transferred to the relevant Podcast folder. When I've experienced download failures, I have to delete those partial downloads and start again.
However, I don't know where the downloads would be for Podcasts downloaded directly onto the iPad.
Perhaps someone with an iPad will know. I'll ask the hosts to move your post to the iPad discussions.

  • Downloading podcasts in the background causes iTunes to become unresponsive

This problem with iTunes downloading podcasts in the background is causing me fits in my well-behaved, rock-solid iMac environment.
Inevitably, while iTunes is automatically downloading one of my subscribed podcasts, iTunes will become unresponsive and freeze. This requires me to Force Quit iTunes, causing file system errors that need to be repaired with Disk Utility. The file system errors usually consist of these:
    "Missing thread record"
    "Incorrect number of thread records"
    "Invalid volume file count"
    "Missing directory record ID"
Luckily, Disk Utility can recover the damage without me losing any data. But it chaffs me to no end that I have to shut down my iMac, reboot with my SL DVD, dig up my wireless Mighty Mouse (since the SL DVD doesn't load drivers for my Magic Trackpad), repair my boot disk, reboot, then endure several minutes of "Checking the iTunes library" when I start up iTunes again. Not including the significant time it takes for me to re-establish my working environment.
The reason why I know it's a podcast that's causing the problem is that as soon as iTunes starts up, the podcast resumes downloading. I've never had iTunes freeze on me while downloading a podcast while I had iTunes in focus. This problem only occurs when iTunes is downloading a podcast in the background. I've checked the log, and the only messages I'm getting is from Automator saying that some actions are not compatible with my current version of iTunes.
This problem occurs with iTunes 10.0.1, but I've had it happen with iTunes 9.x . My iTunes library is on a Netgear ReadyNAS NV+, accessed by my iMac via 802.11n on my Airport Extreme.
Is anyone else experiencing freezes or beachballs when downloading podcasts? I'm about ready to shut off auto-download and just do it manually (in fact, I'm surprised that I haven't done this already ).

iTunes froze again while an podcast was being downloaded (in the Dock, the iTunes icon says "Force Quit"). I waited 10 minutes for iTunes to become responsive again, but it didn't. I tried Cmd-tab to the iTunes window, but it wouldn't come up. I was ready to Force Quit and repair my HD again, when I decided to try one more thing.
I used Expose to show all the open windows, then picked the frozen iTunes window. Doing this showed the window (why Cmd-tab wouldn't, I don't know), where it listed the partially downloaded podcast in the activity bar. I then went to get my SL DVD. When I got back, iTunes was unfrozen and the podcast download had completed!
I have no idea why the podcast wouldn't download while iTunes was hidden, and why Cmd-tab wouldn't restore the iTunes session to activity. But now I know that Expose can wake iTunes from the dead, preventing me from killing iTunes with the inevitable HD corruption.

  • Akamai Download Manager deleted...

I deleted Akamai Download Manager after installing Premiere Elements 8. This has proved to be a big mistake! Later, when I tried to download the additional content, the download just hung. It appears that the Download Manager won't reload for whatever reason. Does anyone have any ideas?

Direct HTTP download links are also now available in your store download area as "Alternate Download Method" right below the download manager links.
This is enabled for the Flex version of the store and will be enable shortly for the HTML version of the store (for those users that don't have the latest Flash Player installed).
If you want to clean out you download manager installation and start over, here are the cleanup steps depending on what browser you were using:
    Firefox Java applet version cleanup
On Windows, Java applets are cached by JRE and are accessible through the Java or Java Plug-In Control Panel. To clear the cache and remove the Akamai Download Manager, do the following:
Open the Java or Java Plug-In Control Panel.
In the General or Cache tab, click View.
(General tab only) In the Show: Combo box, select Resources.
Delete files with the format dlm-java-****.jar.
Clear history of any partially downloaded files:
Delete the contents of folder below using the command prompt
    C:\Documents and Settings\<user profile>\Application Data\Download Manager
    Internet Explorer ActiveX version cleanup
    1. Delete all these files from "c:\windows\Downloaded Program files\
    DownloadManagerV2.inf, DownloadManagerV2.ocx, Manager.exe
(please do this via command line available via the Start menu then Run, type 'cmd'
    2. Delete all the contents of this folder: C:\Documents and Settings\<user profile>\Application Data\Download Manager
    3. Clear out the browser cache and history

I was downloading podcast video in my itouch using wifi, but suddenly my wifi got disconnected and now there is a link in my podcast list which on opening uses wifi to play that video. I want to delete that link. Right to left swapping is not working.

I bet this is too late but...
Are you trying to print through the airport express wirelessly or the built in wireless of the lexmark? If you want to use the airport express, there is no need to mess with the wireless printing on the lexmark at all. The airport express will be easy to set up, all the wireless setups through the printers are a pain.

  • How do I delete a tv show that I accidentally purchased? It is partially downloaded and takes up too much space on my iPad.

How do I delete a tv show that I accidentally purchases? It is partially downloaded. It will take up to much space on my iPad. I don't care about the charge for the show- I just want to get rid of it. Thanks

  • How do I delete a book from iBooks which is already partially downloaded?  It's from the iBooks store (free), but now frozen.  It does not respond to "pause" or "delete" but will not continue to download either.  Any suggestions?  Thank you.

    See Subject/Question.

Problem resolved.  Once I downloaded another book, logging into Apple account, it started the new book downloading and the partially downloaded book (frozen), finally completed its download.  Now I can use it or delete it as normal.

  • Cancel or delete partially downloaded rental movie on iPad... how?

I have a partially downloaded rental movie on my iPad in iTunes which I would like to cancel.
I have searched high and low, and it seems the only way I can do this is to connect to a computer which is not possible for me at this time. I was wondering if anybody had any other ideas on how I can achieve this?
Here are things I have already tried:
    - In the downloading section of iTunes, swiping left to write and selecting the delete button. Swiping does nothing, no delete button appears.
    - in Settings, General, Usage, Movies, choosing Edit and deleting... The movie doesn't appear in this section
If anybody can help, please do?
    - Ta, Krista.

I know i am replying to an old thread but thought someone else might find this useful. I paused the partial download, then wrote an email to Apple via the support link for iTunes store requesting that the download be removed from the queue explaining why ( in my case because i purchased HD instead of SD) and about 1 hour later received an email from Apple saying they cancelled my download and even offered me a refund. Not bad service I say.
