Partial load of files using CopyPod

I am trying to set up all of my files on an external drive, because my PC is full. In fact i lost everything on my PC but had everything on my Ipod. I purchsaed CopyPod and copied everything to the external drive. However, i can't get all the files, mostly purchased TV shows, to transfer to the library. 2000+ songs and some 30% of the shows i have in the folder transfer but not the last 70% of the shows. Any thoughts?

Using a preloader is probably your best bet. There are plenty
of examples available on the web, so a Google search should be all
you need. You can also check out www.gotoandplay.com for a
tutorial.

  • Load multiple files using the same data load location

    has anybody tried loading multiple files using the same load locations. I need to do this as the data in these multiple files will need to be exported from FDM as a single export file. the problem i am facing is more user related. since these files will be received at different points of time, users will need a way to tell them what has been loaded and what is yet to be loaded.
    is it possible to throw a window on the web broser with OK and Cancel buttons from an event script?
    any pointers to possible solutions will be helpful

    was able to resolve this. the implementation method is as follows
    take a back up of previously imported data in the befcleardata event script. then in the beffileimport event append the data to the import file. there are many other intricacies but this is the broad implementation logic. it allowed my users to load multiple files without worrying about append or replace import type choices

  • Error while loading xml files using JDBC

    Hi,
    I am trying to load xml files into an xmltype table using JDBC calls and am getting this error for some files
    LPX-00200: could not convert from encoding UTF-8 to UCS2
    The xml files and our database are both UTF-8 encoded. The version of oracle that we have here is 9.2.0.6
    Any suggestions in this matter will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Uma

    I also experienced this problem and unfortunately this solution didn't work for me given that the tag you suggested was already on the XML file.

  • Issue in How-To document "Load flat file using SAPGUI"?

    Hi,
    I'm having an issue with following lines in the How-To document.
    I've a characteristic "CHAR1" which is restricted with multuple values in the planning level.
    after the upload using this document, CHAR1 is being loaded incorrect & during my debugging I've noticed that program is changing CHAR1 values while executing following lines of code.
    It works fine, if i don't have a restriction for CHAR1 at planning level.
    It also works fine, if i restricted CHAR1 with a single value in level.
    It's not working as expected, if i restrict CHAR1 with multiple single values.
    incase of multiple single values restriction, following is happening.
    let's say i load following file & i restricted CHAR1 with values "aaaaa,fffff" in level.
    CHAR1 CHAR2 value
    aaaaa bbbbb 1000
    fffff eeeee 2000
    it's being loaded as follows. Program is changing all values of CHAR1 with 1st value of the restricted multiple values and in this case, it is "aaaaa".
    CHAR1 CHAR2 value
    aaaaa bbbbb 1000
    aaaaa eeeee 2000
    Has any one encountered the same problem?

    Marc,
    I still need to keep the lines of coding as I've few characteristics restrictied to single values & one characteristic restricted to multiple single values.
    when the coding is commented out, single value restricted characteristics are not getting populated with any value.
    I'm counting the table entries "ls_chasel-t_charng" and if entries are 1, then am activating the code. this seems to be working fine. Do you see any problems/issues with this?

  • Loading accdb file using for each loop in to single target table

    I have 3 accdb file as below in single folder, in control flow I have created a for each loop to loop through all the below file.  In dataflow task I have created oledb source using connection manager to point to first file a1.accdb. I am trying
    to load all the file into single below mentioned target table, here It is only loading first file it is not looping through other two file.
    This I have tried to load .txt files and csv files it is working perfectly but similarly when I try to load access db file table it is not working, can any one of you help me?
    1. a1.accdb contains only one table  a1tab ( col1 col2 col3 )
    2. a2.accdb  contains only one table  a2tab  ( col1 col2 col3 )
    3. a3.accdb  contains only one table  a3tab   ( col1 col2 col3 )
    I have a target table with similar structure as source
    Target table <TargetTable> Col1 Col2 Col3
    aak

    Thanks Arthur, please find below response
    How do you handle the different table names?  Cant we handle it in a similar manner, how we handle the .csv/.txt files with different name and similar structure for sources(multiple files) and target (single table)
    Is it good to drop the idea of for each loop and create a separate task for each accdb file? to be loaded to same target table( performance wise etc.. any justification would be helpful)
    You must handle the connection string dynamically?
    Can you help me with the logic for handling connection string dynamically

    You can leverage the XML SQL functions to extract from XML using the database, see the blog post below;
    https://blogs.oracle.com/warehousebuilder/entry/leveraging_xdb
    For example to extract information from your XML document the following SQL can be generated from OWB;
    select extractValue(value(s), '/book/author'),
    extractValue(value(s), '/book/year'),
    extractValue(value(s), '/book/price') from
    ( select XMLType('<bookstore>

  • Problem loading XML-file using SQL*Loader

    Hello,
    I'm using 9.2 and tryin to load a XML-file using SQL*Loader.
    Loader control-file:
    LOAD DATA
    INFILE *
    INTO TABLE BATCH_TABLE TRUNCATE
    FIELDS TERMINATED BY ','
    FILENAME char(255),
    XML_DATA LOBFILE (FILENAME) TERMINATED BY EOF
    BEGINDATA
    data.xml
    The BATCH_TABLE is created as:
    CREATE TABLE BATCH_TABLE (
    FILENAME VARCHAR2 (50),
    XML_DATA SYS.XMLTYPE ) ;
    And the data.xml contains the following lines:
    <?xml version="2.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <!DOCTYPE databatch SYSTEM "databatch.dtd">
    <batch>
    <record>
    <data>
    <type>10</type>
    </data>
    </record>
    <record>
    <data>
    <type>20</type>
    </data>
    </record>
    </batch>
    However, the sqlldr gives me an error:
    Record 1: Rejected - Error on table BATCH_TABLE, column XML_DATA.
    ORA-21700: object does not exist or is marked for delete
    ORA-06512: at "SYS.XMLTYPE", line 0
    ORA-06512: at line 1
    If I remove the first two lines
    "<?xml version="2.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>"
    and
    "<!DOCTYPE databatch SYSTEM "databatch.dtd">"
    from data.xml everything works, and the contentents of data.xml are loaded into the table.
    Any idea what I'm missing here? Likely the problem is with special characters.
    Thanks in advance,

    I'm able to load your file just by removing the second line <!DOCTYPE databatch SYSTEM "databatch.dtd">. I dont have your dtd file, so skipped that line. Can you check if it's problem with ur DTD?

    please help me how can i load full xml into single column using command line without hardcoding in control file
    Edited by: 907010 on Jan 10, 2012 2:24 AM

    but strangely it's trying to load each line of xml file into table instead of whole fileNothing strange, the data parameter specifies the file containing the data to load.
    If you use the XML filename here, the control file will try to interpret each line of the XML as being separate file paths.
    The traditional approach to this is to have the filename stored in another file, say filelist.txt and use, for example :
    echo "/u01/APPL/apps/apps_st/appl/xxtop/12.0.0/bin/file.xml" > filelist.txt
    sqlldr $1@$TWO_TASK control=$XXTOP/bin/LOAD_XML.ctl data=filelist.txt direct=true;

  • Need suggestions on loading 5000+ files using sql loader

    Hi Guys,
    I'm writing a shell script to load more than 5000 files using sql loader.
    My intention is to load the files in parallel. When I checked the maximum number of sessions in v$parameter, it is around 700.
    Before starting the data load, programmatically I am getting the number of current sessions and maximum number of sessions and keeping free 200 sessions without using them (max. no. of sessions minus 200 ) and utilizing the remaining ~300 sessions to load the files in parallel.
    Also I am using a "wait" option to make the shell to wait until the 300 concurrent sql loader process to complete and moving further.
    Is there any way to make it more efficient? Also is it possible to reduce the wait time without hard coding the seconds (For Example: If any of those 300 sessions becomes free, assign the next file to the job queue and so on..)
    Please share your thoughts on this.
    Thanks.

    My intention is to load the files in parallel. When I checked the maximum number of sessions in v$parameter, it is around 700. Concurrent load you mean? Parallel processing implies take a workload, breaking that up into smaller workloads, and doing that in parallel. This is what the Parallel Query feature does in Oracle.
    SQL*Loader does not do that for you. It uses a single session to load a single file. To make it run in parallel, requires manually starting multiple loader sessions and perform concurrent loads.
    Have a look at Parallel Data Loading Models in the Oracle® Database Utilities guide. It goes into detail on how to perform concurrent loads. But you need to parallelise that workload yourself (as explained in the manual).
    Before starting the data load, programmatically I am getting the number of current sessions and maximum number of sessions and keeping free 200 sessions without using them (max. no. of sessions minus 200 ) and utilizing the remaining ~300 sessions to load the files in parallel.

Also is it possible to reduce the wait time without hard coding the seconds (For Example: If any of those 300 sessions becomes free, assign the next file to the job queue and so on..)Consider doing it the way that Parallel Query does (as I've mentioned above). Take the workload (all files). Break the workload up into smaller sub-workloads (e.g. 50 files to be loaded by a process). Start a 100 processes in parallel and provide each one with a sub-workload to do (100 processes each loading 50 odd files).
    This is a lot easier to manage than starting for example a 5000 load processes and then trying some kind of delay method to ensure that not all hit the database at the same time.
    I'm loading about 100+ files (3+ million rows) every 60 seconds 24x7 using SQL*Loader. Oracle is quite scalable and SQL*Loader quite capable.

  • Failed to load multiple files using theMgr.createLocalFileInputStream

    Hi
    I am using 2.3.8 and having trouble with putting multiple files to the container using XmlInputStream.
    I have hundreds of documents in 'output' folder from my project root, and I was able to load them by using other signature - reading each line from each file via BufferedReader.
    However, if I switch to XmlInputStream, the first putDocument() is successful but I get an error an XmlException at the second iteration.
    container = theMgr.createContainer(theContainer, config);
    XmlUpdateContext updateContext = theMgr.createUpdateContext();
    Transaction dbtxn = environment.beginTransaction(null, null);
    txn = theMgr.createTransaction(dbtxn);
    Iterator filesIterator = files2add.iterator();
    while (filesIterator.hasNext()) {
    File file = (File) filesIterator.next();
    String docName = fileNameToDocName(file);

    <ownership-location>LAX</ownership-location>

    </consol>
    Can someone tell what's wrong in my code?

    Hello,
    The error is indicating something wrong with the file name or location, not the content. Try verifying that the file name passed to createLocalFileInputStream() is in good shape and refers to a regular file with permission to read. If that looks OK, there's a small chance you need to explicitly delete the XmlInputStream between calls. That should not be necessary, because the putDocument() call should consume it, but it does not hurt.

    George

  • Loading XML files using TCP/IP

    Hi.
    My PL/SQL procedure loading xml files from oracle logical directory ("c:\temp") and inserting values into columns of the table. I use XSU with procedure:
    create or replace procedure insProc(xmlDoc IN CLOB, tableName IN VARCHAR2) is
    insCtx DBMS_XMLSave.ctxType;
    rows number;
    begin
    insCtx := DBMS_XMLSave.newContext(tableName); -- get the context handle
    rows := DBMS_XMLSave.insertXML(insCtx,xmlDoc); -- this inserts the document
    DBMS_XMLSave.closeContext(insCtx); -- this closes the handle
    end;
    For translate xml document to CLOB, I use :
    CREATE OR REPLACE function getdocument(
    p_directory in varchar2,
    p_filename in varchar2)
    return clob
    is
    l_bfile bfile;
