Partial OCR on one page possible?

I'm using Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro (with Windows XP). I've got a PDF page that shows various news articles. The end user should be able to use CTRL + F for some, but not all, of the articles on that page. Is it possible to apply OCR to only part of one page for the articles where the text should be findable? I have experimented with layers, but so far have not been able to get this to work.
If Adobe Acrobat cannot do this, is there another application that can do partial OCR and still have the results look like the original scan after OCR has been applied? This would definitely be a compromise, but I'd like to be aware of any possible option out there.

Nobody replied, so I put in a request directly with Adobe Technical Support. They supplied this answer:
I understand that you would like to know if Acrobat can perform an OCR
on only a portion of a page instead of the entire page of a PDF file.
Acrobat does not contain a preference that allows you to OCR only a
portion of a page.
I have submitted this as a feature request.

Is this possible to add one page under 2 tabs conditionally.
Lets say i have created one page "Page 1" under "Tab 1". Now i want the same page to be displayed fom another tab also.i.e. from "Tab 2" from the same application.I want to avoid creating copy of this page.
Such that when i am in Tab 1 and going to this page ,the newly created page should show tab as Tab1.Similarly if i am going to Page 1 from Tab 2 ,the newly created page should show tab as Tab2.
What can i do for this.

Swapna,
For Tab1 and Tab2, set the 'tab page' as 1 under 'current for pages' while you edit the tabs. This would add page 1 under two tabs, tab1 and tab2.

No. But you can create a second site with those photos, protect it and link to it from your public site.
You can even have the page of the protected site appear in the navbar of your public site this way:
1 - create and publish the protected site
2 - in your public site create a blank page and name it for the protected page.
2 - add an HTML snippet with the following code to the blank page:

parent.window.location = "URL TO SITE/PAGE YOU WANT TO REDIRET TO"; </script>

When a visitor clicks on the link in the public site they will be immediately redirected to the protected site/page. You can add a similar blank page to the protected site to send visitors back to the public site.
The Contents page of my demo sites (3 of them) are setup that way. I only have to edit one page (in the Contents site) instead of the Contents page of each of the three demo sites. Go to this page in Demo_1 (Embedtests) and click on the Contents link. Watch the URL field as you're taken to the Contents page.

Possible to print 2 photos on one page?

Is it possible to print more than one photo (different shots) on one page thru the print module. I can't find anything about it in the LR3 Help files. I know I can do multiples of the same photo but I want two different shots on one page.

Actually you can drag as many pictures as you can onto the template.

Is it possible to make only one page landscape while the rest are portrait?

I have a long Pages document with everything in portrait view, but I want just one page to be in landscape. Is it possible to do this?

Rotating the page contents is completely different than rotating a page.
Using the A4 format, a landscape page may display a rectangle whose width is 297 mm, height is 210 mm.
A rotated object in a portrait page is restricted to a width of 210 mm.
On these two screenshots, the text boxes in page 2 are containing the same piece of text.
Compare the true landscape one to the the portrait one rotated of 90°
or
compare the true portrait one to the the landscape one rotated of 90°.
They are completely different.
This is why I will continue to write that we can't use two pages orientation in a single document !

I would love to be able to drag and drop items from one page to another from the plan window. Is that possible?

In desiging my website, I would like to be able to move items from one page to another by dragging and dropping from the plan architecture screen. It might also help if the window could have a zoom in and out feature to facilitate that.

I just tried zooming in the plan window and discovered it works.

I get this to work with only one SB at a time, but not both.

What I usually do is have a link which says Delete Record. I
use a Go
to Detail Page SB here. I then have a new page which pulls up
the
details of record I want to delete and I say are you sure you
want to
delete this record. I then insert the regular Delete Record
SB on this
page.
It acts as a confirmation that I'm deleting the correct
record and gets
around this problem.
I do the same for the Updating record.

I am trying to print a snapshot taken from a PDF multiple times on one page.

Reader Will not print multiple copies of a snapshot on one page. I read the help files for Acrobat itself and all it said was take the snapshot and print it. Does anyone know if Acrobat can print multiple copies of the snapshot on one page?
From some reading in another forum page it looks like Acrobat can do it by saving the snapshot repeatedly with different names and the printing all of them at once. I really hate that workaround as I need to do this often.

I tried to do it using Reader. I have a one page PDF document with a UPS shipping label on one side and a special box label with a barcode on the other. This is designed to print on a standard 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper. There are many times when I need to be able to print the box labels more than once. At home, I do it by taking a snapshot of the box label and printing it to a Label printer as many times as I need it. The distributor who also ships items for me only has a full page printer but he can print 4 on a page labels on UPS provided stock. Reader won’t print a snapshot multiple times, the option is grayed out. What I wanted to know is if Acrobat itself can print that snapshot multiple times. I don’t think it can without being able to cut and save that PDF multiple times as separate files. That would be a slow and cumbersome operation. If it would take a snapshot or a single cut and save and print that PDF 4 times on a page it would be a reason to spend the money to buy the program because we need to perform this operation OVER and OVER on a regular basis. On some shipments we might need to print 12 or more extra box labels. We tape smaller boxes together for one UPS label and need to make sure EACH box gets a separate label. Otherwise they sometimes get lost on the other end.
Doing the save 4 separate PDFs process we might actually need TWO copies of Acrobat unless reader can print 4 on a page if it has 4 PDF’s to work from. I have not yet found a good way to save those snapshots from reader. I have tried since I found that it was possible to cut and save them in other formats but not PDF’s as reader can’t save them. The quality of the saved items in other formats is not acceptable. I recently discovered that Microsoft publisher which I have can save a document as a PDF. I’m going to see if I can import to that program next.

Can anybody explain me how to print all columns in one page.we have around 15 to 20 columns for 4 reports and all these reports are build on one multiprovider.we are using BW 3.5.
Can anyone explain me how to print ALL COLUMNS IN ONE PAGE .currently they are getting all columns in 2 to 3 pages. They are using PORTAL to run the reports here.
Is it possible to do by customizing Webtemplate or by macros in Workbook.Please help me

Here is our scenario.
We create sales order for very large Roofing jobs. Sales order will have 1 or 2 Items. However, each item has Billing plan with multiple entries like Down payment Inv, Partial Inv and Final Inv. We want to create Pro-Forma Invoice so we can just send Invoice to customer, with no effect on our AR side. I created Sales order with 2 Items. When I created Pro-Forma Invoice using VF01, it created 2 Invoices for 2 Items. My question is, Is it possible to create Pro-Forma Invoice for just 1 Item AND within 1 Item, Partial Amount. If so, How ?

Hi,
It looks you need to create a routine in tranx VOFM with the logic to select one item and partial value.
Then assign this routine in the billing document copy control - item level.

How do I print multiple photos on one page with a border around each? I've gone the contact sheet route and adjusted the number of columns but there's only outer margins and very little white space between the photos down the middle of the page.

Ok, now I feel stupid! I always thought I was printing 6 x 4 but now I realise I can't have done!!
The photos that I used to print are approx. 5.2" x 4" (i.e. 4 fitted nicely on a page & I had to cut the boarder off).
I guess I just need to play with different sizes under the 'custom' option in order to get the biggest possible picture!

How can I create a pdf that displays three pages in a one page pdf?

I wasn't sure where to post this question since it involves different products, but maybe someone here has a solution...
I design three-panel product displays and it sure would be nice if I could present them in a pdf (I use Acrobat Pro 9) that shows all three panels side-by-side in a single page. I've been using ID CS4 for the individual panel layouts for the vendor then making a pdf for client review, with each panel on a separate page, however more than one client has requested a three-up electronic presentation. I could create all three as one page in ID then export to pdf, yet that seems kind of redundant and I'm trying to streamline this process as much as possible. Any ideas?

I do that a lot. It's the easiest way that I know of. Just create a new page that will fit all threee panels, use File>Place to place the panels, export as a PDF.
