Partial sound failure, need help

Tecra A9-S9015X running Windows XP SP3
After an unexplained system crash when I unplugged the AC converter at the wall, all sounds failed (system, CD, DVD, mp3). After I updated the BIOS from the origianl vers. 1.1 to 2.0, system sounds returned loud and clear (Windows welcome, Notepad cannot find search string). But still no sounds from music CD, movie DVD, desktop mp3 file, though they seem to play normally (all in Windows Media Player 11).
Here's what I tried, in order:
MicroSoft FixIt tool, Mats_Run.AudioPlayback.exe
Restore BIOS to default settings
Update BIOS to latest version (non-AMT version; system sounds restored)
Re-install new download of latest audio driver 5.10.0.5404 (after uninstall)
Re-install new download of Toshiba Mic Effect Utility (after uninstall)
Re-install new download of Media Player 11, after uninstall (roll-back to vers. 10)
I'm puzzled and need new ideas! Thanks for your consideration.

This is embarrassing! There is a separate volume control in Windows Media Player that somehow got turned to zero (icon near the bottom; I never use it). And it stayed zero in the new installation of Windows MP. All is well now.

If is a fillable form, just tab to the next field. What we do not understand from you is IF it is a fillable form or not. If it is not, then the 3 options I gave can be used. Placing text is always a problem. You might find it useful to turn on the grid to help in placing your typewriter fields. However, if it is fillable you do not have to create any fields to type in, you just leave the tool as the hand tool and select the predefined fields with the cursor or the tab key and type accordingly. If the field is a checkbox, then you just use the space key to activate it.
So, are we talking about a fillable form or something that has the appearance of a form, but not fields to fill in. This is what Bernd has been try to find out and you keep suggesting it is fillable as we read what you have said.

WRT54GL V1.1 Firmware Failure - Need Help To Try Recovery

Hello: I need assistance with my WRT54GL V1.1.
I was attempting to upgrade my firmware from 4.30.13 to 4.30.14 USA English version. The upgrade was nearly complete when the dreaded Upgrade Failed message appeared. I have searched multiple Linksys Forums trying to recover my router. I tried the 30 second "reset" procedure with the router still powered on. When that did not help I tried another reset procedure I found on the internet called the 30 30 30. After following the "reset" instructions a couple times I have now gone from only the "fast power light blinking" failure to the following: Fast power light blinking AND all the Ethernet Port lights are turned on solid and the Internet light is also turned on solid. At this point I am clueless which steps to even attempt. I did connect an ethernet cable directly to Port 1 and tried to ping 192.168.1.1 and 192.168.5.1 which was the router's IP address before the firmware upgrade failed. I get no response from either ping. If anyone can help me save my just out of warranty (of course) router it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Thanks for the reply. Yes, have tried most if not all of the blinking power light solutions I could find on the internet. Have tried to ping the router from two different PCs with statiic IP assignments.
What I could not find anywhere on the various forums were my symptoms, which is Blinking Power Light plus the additional lights that are on solid. I was hoping someone else has seen the problem I have and had some other solution.
With mine I have either Blinking Power & all (4) Port lights & Internet light on solid. Then if I do a power off/on cycle I will have Blinking Power, Ports 1 & 4 and Internet lights on solid.
Again, was praying that someone would recognize the different lights as perhaps a coded error message with some recovery procedure. I guess not and mine is a brick.
I did notice that a couple forums mentioned that the .BIN file download on these routers has to be LESS than 3mb or the router would be bricked. The most current .BIN on the Cisco/Linksys page that I downloaded was MORE than 3mb.
I would think though that many many more owners of the WRT54GL V1.1 router would have complained to Cisco that the latest firware on this site is blowing up routers!

Bootcamp Disk Failure-Need help urgently

I have been trying to partition my mac to use windows. Unofortunately I am not able to as everytime i click on disk partition it says disk failure check with disk utility. 4 times yesterday i had repaired my disk using disk utility.
And everytime i had repaired and i went back to partitioning my disk, it will start to partition for a 1 min and than warning will appear to restart your computer.After restarting computer and going back to bootcamp assistant and starting all over doing the partitioning the disk failure notice pops up. and plus the freespace in the mac has been reduced.
I have reading through most of the post that have been sent in this discussion group but none seems to help.
I am fairly new to mac. So if you are helping me out pliz and pliz sipmlify your language so that i can understand all this computer stuff.
And pliz explain as well if you could.Thanks.

Toshiba Excite 7.7 Sound Problems , need help!

I bought my Excite 7.7 last week ..Tis week i tried to played the mp3 songs that i stored on the micro sd card..every 2 to 3 songs it cut off the sounds for a second and then it came back again .First i thought is the poweramp player apps that i bought in Google play that course tis happened.So i switched to the Toshiba player apps, still 2 to 3 songs it cut off again.Then i even switched the micro sd card to another brand that stored my mp3 songs , stills it cut off for a second ....The last option i made a hard reset to factory setting..stills it wont work!!! ..What happened to my tablet? ..Do i need to bring it back for an exchange? ..Thank you

Z935 media test failure need help

Obviously the only disc drive for this is external; unless it is referring to the hard drive? Also none of the FN keys work at all- just stuck on this screen no matter what? Lease help. Thanks in advance.

this kind of message PXE-E61: Media test failure is referring to the internal HDD of the laptop.

Slideshow - Photoshop to Premiere Failure - Need Help!!

Created slideshow to music and recorded audio segments with embedded videos in photo elements 8 and sent to premiere elements 8 but it doesn't come over very clean. Music overlaps, video is robotic, some pics didn't come over. Would love to know what I'm doing wrong.

I suspect that you are attempting tasks which are beyond the capability of the Elements Organizer Slide Show editor and you would be better doing the addition of your video using Premiere Elements in a project setting (of Premiere Elements) that is chosen based on the format of video you have. (this option is specifically my opinion based on several years working with people on forums who reported similar type problems: it is not an official statement and I do not work for Adobe.)
If troubleshooting from the forum is possible, I think that it is more likely to be successful over in the forum for Premiere Elements at

please explain-- for example do you mean ?
do you mean you added music to the slide show and also had narration for the slide show ?
-- what is the format (the codec) used for the video(s) you are using ? If you don't know the codec, then identify the camera which was the source of the video(s)
-- if you know what was the project setting for the Prem Elements project - post that info
-- what format will you choose as the output from Premiere Elements - for example, will you burn a standard definition DVD ?
-- what is the pixel resolution of the photo files that you are using ? (too high a pixel resolution can be a problem)
-- what is the Windows operating system ? (most probably you will also be asked for your PC hardware configuration during troubleshooting)
EDIT - adding additional question
-- identify the format and the pixel dimensions of the photos that did not successfully transfer to Premiere Elements (numbers are better but statements like it was a panorama will help to start the analysis of why some failed) Also tell whether these photos were visible when doing a preview playback within the Elements Organizeer slide show editor.

2 sound cards, need help/ advice before spending money

I've got 4 speakers hooked up to the rear jacks of my K7n2 delta's on board sound card.
Problem is my headphones are all but dead and i'm going to replace them. I'm considering buying these:
Zalman 5.1 headphones.

Problem is if i only have one sound card i'd have to constantly unlplug my speakers to plug these in. So i am consiering purchasing the Zalman external USB sound card and keep the head phones connected to the external card while keeping my speakers in the onboard card.
I realize i've never seen some one use 2 cards before and i dont know if this solution is even viable. My technical knowledge has been gathered through experience and tinkering around so i'm hoping some one here has some insight.

This past Monday, I just replaced my old pc case with the Cooler Master Praetorian (Black) case... ( http://www.dealsonic.com/comablprpaal.html ) Since it had the front I/O panel for the headset, I wanted to use that AND my speakers. I enabled the Onboard Sound for the front I/O panel and my speakers are connected to the SB Live!
Whenever I want to plug in the headphones, all I do is go to the audio properties, select the 'default' onboard playback device (making sure the checkmark is there for "use default device only") and now all sound is blasting out the headphones - not my speakers. My wife prefers that when I game online!
When I am not using the headphones or gaming; I go through the same process and choose my SB Live! card for speaker output. Only a few mouse clicks away instead of pulling the case out to swap connectors as I was doing before.

'AND' process in a process chain failure - need help

For the first time and out of no where, two separate 'AND' processes in two separate process chains failed on two separate days. It displayed error the same messages in both isntances as below. It seems that when the first load completed and the second was still in progress, this 'AND' attempted excecute and failed.
I had to manually resume the chain by setting the 'AND' status'to 'G' in RSPCPROCESSLOG table. I also plan to recreate those 'AND'.
But did anyone here experience this problem and know the root cause?

- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- If only no sound from speaker
- Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so. There is a little switch in the headphone jack that disconnects the speaker when the headphone jack is inserted.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

It appears that your iPhone 5s sometimes produces low sound, but a restart corrects it.
It can take some time to isolate and resolve intermittent issues like this one, and I'd recommend going through the steps in this guide the next time it occurs:

Recently purchased an Audigy 2 ZS?Platinum?Pro sound card. I need help figuring out how to get sound when I us the tv tuner for my?All-In-Wonder?9600XT video card. The audio output on the video card needs an audio input to connect on the sound card, but this sound card?does not appear have one.
Does anyone know how I can connect the video card to sound card so I get sound when using tv tuner? Where is the micro In line?I have it on the front panel on the external unit!!? But I would don't use this In line for this application!On my old sound card SB Li've! After upgrade to iOS8, very slow, no volume slider bar, no volume through the iPad although the headphones work. My volume slider bar now reads"Sound Effects"?? Mute is off, need help. So frustrated!

I do not think apple will do much to help you under warrenty, as this was caused by a fall. (alas!)
I think the case is, as you suggest, jamming the rocker down, and it may have damaged the swith itself. Can you carefully lever it out of the way? Very very carefully. If it is already broken, there is not much harm you can do by trying.
If it is just the switch being jammed, you might be able to move it out a little. If it is the swith itself, you will need some real service after your three hour drive. You might check your loacl area for a closer service repair source.

It sounds like your iMac display will turn off unexpectedly, but you can tell the computer is still on because you hear audio.
