Partially blurry pictures with 6220 Classic

I am having trouble with partially blurry pictures and video on my brand new 6220 Classic. The bottom left corner gets blurry almost as if the compression is higer in this area than in others.
What could this be and should I send it for repair?
Sample pictures can will be added upon request.

hey there, i think i now know what is wrong with it. i had a look at your photos and i did indeed see the error, at first i thought it might have been a firmware issue but you have said that you have updated it and the problem still occurs.
i recall reading a magazine the other day and recalling that they complained that the xenon flash is located immediately under the camera lens (which it shouldn't be really because with flash shots it can light up the bottom left hand corner of the photo). i think this is the reason you are getting blurry artifacts in the bottom of your photos as the flash may be firing, even in daylight (when it is not very visible). as such, there seems to be nothing you can do about this except blame nokia for the illogical placement of the flash.
i hope this answers the question now

  • Blurry picture on second monitor with MB Pro 13"

My wife has a brand new MB Pro 13". When we attach an external monitor to it (with a digital DVI cable), we have the following problem: When the computer's lid is closed, everything is fine, the picture is crisp. However, when we open the lid and both displays are turned on, the picture on the second monitor gets slightly blurred.
When I do the same setup with my 15" MB Pro, both computers have a crisp picture.

A blurry picture means that the resolution is incorrect. Go to the Display preference pane and make sure that the two monitors have the native resolution set properly. If the two monitors have different native resolutions, one will always be blurry in mirrored mode. If the displays are not mirrored, it's possible that one will reset to the wrong resolution on opening/closing the lid.

I have a problem maintaing a constant sync with my 6220 Classic and my Parrot 3400LSGPS hands free kit. it pairs ok and automatically connects for about 30 seconds then disconnects for a short time and connects again repeating the process? anyone know the fix for this.

Go into the parrot menu and pair phone not with contacts, then send all your contacts as a business card to the parrot via bluetooth.
This should work, if not ask parrot www.parrot.biz

if nsu bricks phones then nokia should completly take NSU off there site n stop people from updating. its a product from nokia that should be up to standards. im just saying when vista released they had problems with NSU and took there time to prepare a fix and now a year later that same problem exists on n82 n 6220c.
also look at how many users have had there phone go through recovery mode or blinking screen. nokia are so advance with there phones n they cant be bothered to implement FOTA in all there new nseries, eseries devices were this reduces the phone bricking as FOTA are little updates.
Nokia need to stop the NSU and prepare a ultimate fix for it. They make to many new applications and they cant even fix the problems that exist with there PC suite, Nokia Music Manager etc.

Uninstall Kaspersky, you don't need it. There are no active viruses out in the wild fot hte S60 3rd Edition operating system used by your phone, and the even if there were any they could not be installed without you knowing and giving it the OK.

  • 6220 classic - camera flash not working

    Hi,
I have a problem with the 6220 classic's camera flash. When I'm taking pictures, sometimes it does not work at all - no matter if I set the flash mode to "always on" or "red eye".
What bugs me is the fact that the flash sometimes decides to work, and sometimes it doesn't. At first, when I tried the camera, the flash was always working (IIRC). Now, it rarely works - sometimes, a photo session seems to work and flash goes off every time, but then, at the next session, I just can't get it to work (by session, I mean taking a bunch of pictures and then turning off the camera mode by turning the switch on the phone).
I tried to figure out what might be going on. At first I tried the phone in a pitch dark place - still, the flash is silent. Then I tried restarting the phone. No luck.
Any ideas what else I might try (maybe trying to fully-charge the phone and then test the flash, maybe reverting the phone to factory settings), before I turn the phone to service?

did you try to update your phone to the latest firmware?

or via FOTA right off your phone.
make sure you always do a back up of your data before doing any of this. if this continues to happen even after update i would take it to nokia care for them to have a look.

  • 6220 Classic Camera flash

When camera flash is set to Auto, shouldn't flash automatic go off when I take a picture in a dark enviorment? With a dark enviorment I mean that if I don't set the Flash to On the picture will be almost black. I just tried it in a room with no window and no light, still it didn't use the flash. With the N73 it works as expected, the flash goes of, but the 6220 Classic, the flash doesn't go off. Is this a bug in the software or maybee it's just my phone.

  • 6220 classic, where are the smileys for sms??

Does the Nokia 6220 classic have the smileys (the picture ones)? I can not find how to activate them.... help me please!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

That's not correct for that model.
The 6220c like all other S60 smartphones doesn't have built-in support for graphical smilies.
Text based smilies can be inserted whilst typing a new message by pressing the "1" key two or three times. The "*" key switches between different smilies.
I believe this only works if you use predictive text.
I use a program called A-SMS to enable graphical smilies but i'm not sure if it's compatible with newer FP2 models like the 6220c.

  • Just ordered a 6220 classic -thoughts ?

I just ordered a Nokia 6220 classic, im excited ....coming from a Nokia 6300 ..... anybody recommend a good thin case, charging stand,...
thoughts on this phone ? any cool or must have apps, games ?
    Thanks.

I have looked at the specs of the classic. I have an N82 and it has the same 5MP and xenon flash. As a user of the camera, I LOVE IT. My friends are always asking me "WOW that is your cellphone?!" The pictures turn out great with the flash. I really enjoy it. I am not sure if that is the reason you bought it though.

  • The camera of my Ipone 4 is not focussing and takes blurry pictures up close...

The camera of my Ipone 4 is not focussing and takes blurry pictures up close... I also cannot use apps like i-nigma because it won't recognise the sign.
Can anyone help me with this?

    Hi there Brittney827,
You may find the troubleshooting steps in the article below helpful.
    iPhone: Hardware troubleshooting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts2802
Camera isn't functioning or has undesired image quality
If the screen shows a closed lens or black image, force quit the Camera app.
If you do not see the Camera app on the Home screen, try searching for it in Spotlight. If the camera does not show up in the search, check to make sure that Restrictions are not turned on by tappingSettings > General > Restrictions.
Ensure the camera lens is clean and free from any obstructions. Use a microfiber polishing cloth to clean the lens.
Cases can interfere with the camera and the flash. Try gently cleaning the lens with a clean dry cloth or removing the case if you see image or color-quality issues with photos.
Try turning iPhone off and then back on.
Tap to focus the camera on the subject. The image may pulse or briefly go in and out of focus as it adjusts.
Try to remain steady while focusing:
Still images: Remain steady while taking the picture. If you move too far in any direction, the camera automatically refocuses to the center.
Note: If you take a picture with iPhone turned sideways, it is automatically saved in landscape orientation.
Video: Adjust focus before you begin recording. You can also tap to readjust focus while recording. Exiting the Camera application while recording will stop recording and will save the video to the Camera Roll.
Note: Video-recording features are not available on original iPhone or iPhone 3G.
If your iPhone has a front and rear camera, try switching between them to verify if the issue persists on both.
    Issue not resolved
My issue is still not resolved. What do I do next?

  • Nokia 6220 classic help

anybody know how to get the bluetooth working properly any software going about or not thanks

    Hi zzan

Hi everyone, i recently purchased Nokia 6220 classic and i have some questions.
    1. MicroSD Card
I want a good microSD card(large, fast n stable). Whats the best for 6220c?
According to gsmarena 6220c only supports upto 8G microSD but according to Sandisk website 6220c can support 16G microSDHC. (?)
Can 6220c support microSDHC card with (2 in circle) and (4 in circle) rating? and which one is better?
The 8gb is the one to go for, asputting the 16gb card may make the phone run slow as the processor may not be able to cope
    2. Phone Lock
I can't find this option anywhere. I want the phone to ask the phone unlock pin(~4 digits) when i first turn on the phone.
If you go into the phone settings, then security, you have various ways of locking the phone either by locking the sim card or the phone.
    3. Video Recording.
Screen goes very dark during video recording sometimes, would new firmware fix this? i have Software version: 03.23, Software version date: 27-Jun-2008.
Also is it possible to disable the red light during video recording?
Not sure about the first part, but you cannot disable the lamp it is to let people know they are being recorded I think
    4. GPS, i'm on prepaid, is it possible to get free GPS service? if not which prepaid network would be cheapest for using GPS?
Nokia maps is very good, so long as you download the mapping download software first from Ovi.com to load them to the phone. It only costs about £50.00 (not sure) for the voice prompts as well.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Blurry pictures when slide show is played:(

I am making a slideshow on iMovie and I have pictures in it as well as videos. When I play the movie in full screen or normal screen the pictures appear blurry, but if I pause it they will return to the original resolution and they are clear. This is only happening with the pictures. If I just scroll over the pictures with the mouse they appear fine as well. How do I fix this? Thanks!

This is usually caused by the fact that your pics are much higher resolution than video clips i.e. even if your video is 1920x1080 your pics may well be 3000x2000 or more. IMovie(depending on your computer and graphics power) can't resolve the large pics to their fullest at 24 or30 fps. In FCP X we can adjust for that but I don't see any way in iMovie. I think you will find that when you share/export your movie the pics will be nice and clear.

  • I have a white haze over photos when taking a picture with my flash

I have a white haze over photos when taking a picture with my flash.  What can I do to fix it?

After the ios7 update, my wife's phone began having these same issues and we assumed it was a flaw with the update.
But  after some trial and error, we concluded it was the illumination of the  white plastic backing of the iPhone 4.  We tried a different protective  case, we blackened the apeture of the black case with a black sharpie,  none of those things worked.
It  was noted that the white and blurry photos only occurred with a case  installed.  Without a case, the photos were perfect.  It is a *** issue.
Since  we were using a case and appearance was not that big of an issue, I  decided to apply a strip of black electrical tape with holes punched out  for the camera and flash mechanisms and reapplied the protective case.   This tacky fix solved 95% of the white blurry look to the flash photos.
So  a work-around is to apply a non-transparent piece of tape, or sticker  with appropiate sized holes for the camera lens and flash LED on the  back of the white plastic phone case.  It's tacky, it's a poor design  from apple, but it works.

  • NSU error on 6220 classic - lost connection

Hi, I'm new on the forum but not a newbie on computers.
I've bought a Nokia 6220 Classic with fw 3.06, and installed NSU on Windows Vista SP1.
During the update to fw 3.23, I get a white screen on the cell phone with "03.23 Local Mode" and Nokia logo in green.
On the halted NSU it's 28 seconds to finish and after about 3 minutes it says connection was lost with the phone, shortly prompting me to remove the battery and restart it, trying to reconnect. I can't connect to the phone after that. NSU is then closed.
The phone, otherwise, seems to be working all right - it says that have fw 3.23 installed and all the applicatons I've openned worked so far.
However, this error is bothering me. What can I do?
PS: I've tried it 2 more times, always getting the same error at the same part of the update.

Very True Indeed, I Had The Same Problem & Am Not Able To Figure Out Why. What I Did As a Solution Though is that I reloaded My Firmware & at The Point Where it shows the Nokia LOGO checked My Device Manager & Found An Unknown Device, Manually installed the driver for it by pointing to C:\Program Files\Nokia\Flashing Cable Driver. Worked for me, But still I couldn't understand why the error occurs.
One Question To You doritosbsb, have you checked ur life timer(*#92702689#)lately? When I checked it out on My 6220c I found that i was running Unusually high. Like If I talk for one Minute it would show a increase in 6hour. MY Current Life Timer reads 0001875.00. The Funny thing is that I had the Phone for Just 5 Days..... Any Ideas?????
Where R The Nokia GUYS?????? DO SOMETHING......!

  • 6220 Classic and New Battery Fun!

    Hi
I have a 6220 Classic and purchased a new Nokia battery for it (as a spare) but when I insert it the phone after maybe 10 mins says "Insert Sim Card" but when I put the battery that came with the phone back in all is fine.
Has anyone else had this problem

Are you sure you have bought an original nokia battery and not one of the many fakes that circulate through places like ebay?
If it is an original it is very odd and can't explain why it's doing it. I would certainly return it and try another.
