Particular crash 2

Sorry had closed precedent thread by accident: here was my wuestion and first answer:
First, apologise my poor language: I am french.
Well, i bought a theme template called videohive circle reveal to make a commercial ad. My problem is taht when i want to render it or have a preview it always crash at the same point with the traditionnal error of invoking plugin effect particular.
I use an imac intel core ie 2,88 Ghz and most important with 16 Go of ram.... I saw many times in forums that it comes from lake of ram: I don't thing 16 Go is too short for this little template.. I must tell that i firstly put the theme without color changing and works on birth cursor of the sparkles and as you can seethere it worked: http://www.pampilles-and-chic.com.
I must say i ve almost tried all i can do to succeed and i am a little disappointed ( re instal of particullar with the last updates, re instal of after effects in english, re download the videohive theme, etc etc...)
Thank you very much by advance for your help

answer of rick gerard:
There are two things you could try. First, make sure that you are not rendering with OpenGL enabled. Second, make sure that you have multi processing turned off in the preferences. Let us know if that solves your problem. If neither does please post a screenshot of the error message.
I did all you said dear rick and all is the same: still this message : "after effects error: crash occured while invoking effect plug-in "particular". I tried too to purge image caches and video memory. Thank you for your attention
Denis

i ve already tried this without results unfortunatly...:(
the crash happens each time when the circle begin to be drawn in this template:

  • Troubleshooting Mail using the Mail.crash.log file and TN2123 CrashReporter

    This morning, for apparently no reason at all, Mail began to consistently crash each time I attempted to send or reply to a message. By observing what occured in mail, opening the crash log [mail.crash.log] located here…
    Macintosh HD:Users:<username>:Library:Logs:CrashReporter
    …and parsing the information with the help of the Apple Developer Technical Note linked below, I was able to quickly determine that my last action just prior to sending the message—appending a signature to it—resulted in the application crashing. Simply by deleting the existing signature and recreating it, I was able to resolve the problem in only a matter of minutes.
    This demonstrates how useful crash logs can be, and why they should likely be the very first place you look for an indication of trouble when an application unexpectely quits.

  • GREP search crashes InDesign

    Hi,
    I have a script which imports XML and formats it. As part of the formatting, there's numerous GREP searches which remove redundant spaces, returns and so on.
    One in particular crashes InDesign and it's driving me nuts.
    It's supposed to remove redundant returns in a table:
    // GREP Search for redundant returns
    app.findGrepPreferences = app.changeGrepPreferences = null;
    app.findGrepPreferences.appliedParagraphStyle = "ArticleMinister";
    app.findGrepPreferences.findWhat = "\r$";
    app.changeGrepPreferences.changeTo = "";
    app.activeDocument.changeGrep();
    The problem is there's an XML closing tag between the carriage return and the end of the para, i.e. data{return}</closingtag>, but it works fine when the XML is data</closingtag>{return}.
    Any assistance would be most appreciated.

    Hi Vamitul,
    Thanks very much for the reply and it makes perfect sense.
    This script creates quite a complex document and, for some reason, moving the {return} outside the XML tags makes a mess of the document. I do not know why but I suspect that some of the 'clean up' non-GREP search and replace commands in the script are ignoring the XML data - perhaps not but I cannot for the life of me work out why a simple change is making the text a real mess.
    So the 'harder fix' sounds like something worth pursuing as this is the last step in a long process. Do you have any more information about checking the xmlContents? I don't expect anyone else to do my work for me, but advanced (or even intermediate) scripting is something I struggle with.
    Cheers,
    Simon.

  • How do I intercept/catch a JMF-crash when playing unsupported files?

    I'm writing an application with a media viewer (JMF2.1.1) in it. For some file formats it works okay, but when playing some of them, I get the 'Unable to handle format' error. Now I can live with that, but the problem is that the entire app just HANGS. No exception is thrown, no option to get rid of the error, nothing.
    In my code I have several try/catch blocks, but those are not adressed with these particular crashes.
    My question is this: how can I intercept or catch this crash? How can I PRE-detect whether the file format is unsupported and then send a message saying this file is unplayable (thus not starting the player.realize process)?

    Ok, this is what I have so far. The mediaplayer opens in a separate JDialog window.

  • InDesign CS4 crash when printing .."macromedia" apparent culprit..

    (Sorry if this has found its way to the wrong advice Forum: I can't seem to find a way to the appropriate InDesign CS4 "Community" to post it in!)
    My Mac version of InDesign CS4 version 6.0.6 has begun crashing when attempting to print.
    The Crash Log shows the particular crashed thread to always include the line:
    com.macromedia.Flash Player.authplaylib    0x1c5ac2dd ExternalPlayer_Initialize  +  1864739
    ..which is repeated a further twice, with various similar numbers just before and after "ExternalPlayer_Initialize".
    I assume that this is a problem with InDesign calling "macromedia.Flash Player" instead of Adobe Flash Player, but I have no idea where or how to modify the phrase "macromedia.Flash Player" to encourage the program to run correctly.
    NOTE ALSO: That the program was installed on a Mac which had been lost, and was subsequently found and returned, but in the meantime we'd bought a replacement Mac. InDesign was then UNinstalled from the originally-lost Mac, and a full previous backup of that Mac was then restored onto the new Mac so that it was a complete copy of the original (..thus abiding by usage restrictions..)
    After the program was restored onto the new Mac it longer Prints.
    Any help or suggestions, please?

    Thanks for your quick reply!
    I'll hunt for pastebin.com and put a copy of the crash log there, and will reply here when I've done that.
    Meanwhile, regarding restoring, it was the entire Mac contents which were restored, not just the Applications folder (..this was a new Mac which was being "cloned" from the previous backup..) so all the attendant files, hidden here and there, would also have been restored back to their appropriate places as well!
    I'll go and place a crash log at pastebin.com now. Many thanks!

  • Cinema Tools 4.0.1 Crashing in Lion 10.7.1

    Hi all:
    I'm not sure who else may be having problems, but I cannot get my Cinema Tools 4.0.1 to open in Lion 10.7.1. It continues to crash every time I click on the software program to open and launch. I understand there are some compatibility issues regarding Final Cut Studio 2 running in Lion 10.7, however I am able to open the rest of the FCS 2 suite without any problems (Final Cut Pro 6.0.6, Motion 3.0.2, Compressor 3.0.5, Color 1.0.4, DVD Studio Pro 4.2.1, LiveType 2.1.3, Soundtrack Pro 2.0.2). All these programs, except for Cinema Tools 4.0.1, work just fine so far in Lion 10.7.1.
    Has anyone else had any problems trying to open and work Cinema Tools in Lion? I've seen a few threads in the internet already about users having similar problems, however I haven't seen any solutions. Perhaps somebody may have a solution or work-around to get the program functioning in Lion.
    Thank you

  • BDB crash question...

    This is a follow-up to the issue I posted here: DB_MULTIVERSION question...
    This also involves a database that is working fine with MVCC enabled. When we turn MVCC off, we are able to reproduce a particular crash in BDB with our particular database setup and only when the databases are filled with a particular set of data. The data in question is a 700MB database, and I'm not sure what about it is causing the crash, but I have trouble reproducing it if I wipe the databases clean and perform the same actions.

    INFO:
    We are using the hash access method with a custom hashing function. This particular database has two secondaries attached to it, both of which allow duplicates. We open our environment with DB_CREATE | DB_INIT_LOG | DB_INIT_LOCK | DB_INIT_MPOOL | DB_INIT_TXN | DB_THREAD | DB_RECOVER | DB_SYSTEM_MEM | DB_INIT_REP. We are not actively using replication (the code is #ifdef'd out).
    What information can I get to you to help us diagnose the cause of this crash? I note that I can re-enable DB_MULTIVERSION and the crash no longer occurs. Thank you very much.

    Hi Shishir,
    newbdb wrote:
    Once it crashed, I was trying to run db_checkpoint before bringing the environment up(with db_recovery) again and db_checkpoint did not come back. Is it because of possible recovery required ?Why would you run db_checkpoint after a crash? There are so many utilities that you can run after a crash (recover, verify, dump, deadlock), but not checkpoint.
    If the application or system crashes, the log is reviewed during recovery (from the last checkpoint in case of normal recovery, or from the first log file available in case of catastrophic recovery). Any database changes described in the log that were part of committed transactions and that were never written to the actual database itself are written to the database as part of recovery. Now, if you are going to write a checkpoint after the crash... normal recovery is not going to work. In case there are problems, the checkpoint may not work, as it happens in your case.
    Thanks,
    Bogdan Coman

    Hi
    that particular crash looks to be caused by a corrupted cache file...
    Trash this folder with safari quit (hard not to, I know) : Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/ & hopefully that'll help.

  • Safari 3.2 crash - how I fixed mine

    Safari 3.2 seems to crash under different conditions for different users. From what I have read, the most common conditions are:
    a) incompatible third-party add-ons (e.g. PithHelmet, AcidSearch, etc);
    b) Having the option 'Warn when visiting a fraudulent website' enabled in Security panel of the Preferences.
    I am using a MacBook Pro (late 2006 model). In my case, I did not have any of the third-party add-ons that were reported to be problematic. And Safari was crashing for me under two conditions:
    a) when I attempted to load any web page;
    b) immediately when I attempted to select Safari's Security panel in Preferences.
    This is what I did to fix MY particular crashing problem. I edited the 'com.apple.Safari.plist' file (found in ~/Library/Preferences/) using the Property List Editor application and created the following entry in the 'Root' dictionary:
    'WarnAboutFraudulentWebsites' of class 'Boolean' with the value 'No'
    I saved the file, started up Safari 3.2 and it no longer crashed attempting to load a page or when selecting the Security panel in Preferences. However, if I enabled the 'Warn when visiting a fraudulent website' option, Safari would crash immediately. So the problem still needs to be addressed by Apple as having this option enabled for some users is definitely a problem.
    As a note, I have that option enabled on Safari 3.2 running on another Mac (a PowerBook G4) without problems.
    Property List Editor is a free app and is part of the the Apple Developer Tools that comes with your Mac OS X Install Disc. Look for the 'Xcode Tools' folder and then the 'Packages' folder. The Developer Tools are installed by running the 'DeveloperTools.pkg' installer package.
    Good luck, all!

    I'm afraid I can't see the purpose of not warning against fraudulant websites. Your typical "this website's certificate can't be verified" dialog box obviously is not appearing on those websites that crash your browser, but by the same token, the fact the flag being on causes the browser to crash DOES protect you from entering information in sites that are not valid, or coded in a valid way. If you believe the website to be a genuine website of the said company that is causing the browser to crash, rather than hack your web browser to be LESS secure, contact the said company by e-mail and tell them they need to read http://www.anybrowser.org/ on coding more secure websites that also work well with Safari. Consider the crash a feature of security that just simply has gone a little overboard in protecting you. But at least it does protect you. Granted, it is inconvenient if you failed to bookmark other websites while the browser was open, but you can always reopen the web browser and browse the history to add those bookmarks you need.

  • Slideshow module causes system to crash

    Hi,
    I have a strange problem with Lightroom on Win XP SP3. When using the Slideshow module, I can typically play the slideshow for a couple of shots and then the whole system crashes. Typically so that the screen just goes blank and the computer reboots. This occures in two different computers, and the only common thing in these are Windows XP SP3 and Matrox G550 (latest stable drivers). The error also occures with both LR 2.1 and 1.3. I haven't been able to reproduce this with any other applications on these computers.
    Has anyone else seen this? Have you been able to fix it? The way the computer crashes would indicate that the problem is in a low level driver, but there must be something in Lightroom that trigggers this.
    Regards,
    Mike

    Thanks for replying,
    > Possible solution YES.
    Well, not in my case. I can reproduce this reliably even if I render 1:1 previews for all photos right before going into Slideshow.
    >Can you post a crash report from the control\admistrative tools\event viewer logs for that particular crash.
    No. The system just dies and reboots. Nothig is written to the event log, nor are there any crashdumps generated. And this is the same on both computers.
    > How much memory do you have?
    4 GB on both. Tried both with and without the /3GB switch, same problem regardless of this setting.
    (Btw, system one is Asus MB, Pentium 4 HT, Matrox G550 AGP, single DVI monitor. System 2 is Intel MB, Core 2 Duo, Matrox G550 on PCIe, double DVI+VGA monitors.)

    The "cause" of any particular crash can be seen in the portion of the log for the actual thread that
    crashed. Since Thread 0 crashed in this example, you would look at that section, which is really
    only useful for a developer. But the section labeled Binary Images can also point to a specific item
    that caused the crash, but you should not make the mistake of assuming that everything listed there
    caused the crash, since that would be erroneous. It's possible something there caused it, especially if it relates to the specific application that crashed, such as if Mail had crashed and you had installed
    some Bundles; then one or more of those may be the likely cause of the crash.

  • Upgraded to 6.0.2, now get "Firefox had a problem and crashed". Starting in Safe Mode does not help. Now what?

    Not sure what version I was running, but it worked fine but I have not been able to get it running again. I have uninstalled and reinstalled with the same results. Have followed the help pages to the point of obtaining the Crash Report... now what?
    I did notice the CR seems to think I am running Windows XP but I am actually running Windows 7 (64 bit).

    That gives Firefox 6.0.2 Crash Report [@ nsHttpHandler::QueryInterface(nsID const&, void**) ] https://crash-stats.mozilla.com/report/index/d2eddeb0-5845-4c72-987a-ad0282110917
    Unfortunately that is not really getting anywhere yet, you could become the first person to file a bug about that particular crash, but that takes a bit of time and testing.
    There is a known problem causing firefox 6 to crash and that is the use of IDvault, that can give more than one crash signature, the software developers regarding ID vault are WhiteSky, and are expecting to release a fix in a few days (if they have not already done so)
    Have you tried
    * using firefox's [[safe mode]]
    * disabling all plugins
    Does that help, either by preventing crashes or giving another recognised crash signature. You should also ensure all software is up to date, before trying adding extension software back.
    The other common cause of crashes is malware, that includes a particular Trojan that is now known to crash Firefox 6. Check out [[is my firefox problem a result of malware]] you will need to do scans using software or sites with up-to-date scanning software, if you do scan for problems say what sites or software you used and the version of software used. Downgrading firefox versions rarely helps with crashes, it may help with the one specific trojan, but the security risks would then remain, potentially causing even more problems because the browser no longer crashes.

  • Firefox behaves REALLY badly at random times and I'm worried about it?

    So here's what happens. This happens at random times, unexpectedly. I click on a new link, any link, and suddenly, Firefox blares up, automatically turns to private browsing, and goes to a bunch of random websites.
    Then, it lands on ''www.xnxx<!-- -->.com'',('''edit''', un-linked -J99 ) which I have identified to be a pornography website. After that, it suddenly picks on a random porn video and crashes before the video plays.
    This really worries me, because just before this first happened, I had done a quick scan with both Microsoft Security Essentials and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Pro, and there was absolutely NO problem.
    Not only that, I had gone only to trusted websites.
    I'm a high school sophomore, so this could turn out REALLY badly for me if someone sees this happening and thinks that I'm TRYING to watch that stuff.
    I have already sent a crash report to Firefox and included the website that I crashed in, which is the porn website. I haven't sent any other details, though.
    Could I be getting hacked? I don't think so, because this only happens with Firefox; Chrome, Opera, Maxthon, and IE don't have this problem.
    I'm running Firefox 15.0.1 in Windows 7 x64 (why the crash report said Windows NT x86, I have no idea).
    PLEASE help me fix this!

    On looking at your System Details aside I note that you include a Crash ID.
    That particular crash is probably related to use of Norton software. You may find that you can use the Norton security software without crashes if you disable the '''Norton Security Safe '''feature (Please confirm - or otherwise - that you are using that ). Uninstall the Symantec Antivirus, it's useless and slows down the mac.
    There's also a process called "defaults", which I can't seem to find the origin. If never seen a process named like that. Maybe someone else knows. It might be linked to the symantec though.
    Also, either disable Time Machine, or set it up again, because it's not working.
    More over, a system preference file is constantly crashing called "cfprefsd", which is linked to an app using a Cocoa Framework (I might be talking Chinese to you, but some may understand). I can't find any help regarding this particular crash, but reinstalling OS X should solve the issue (To reinstall OS X, follow the steps described on this support page: http://support.apple.com/kb/PH18872 )
