Partitioned EHD connected via TC - Not recognizing both partitions

I have an external hard drive (EHD) that has 2 partitions on it. It's a complete image of an old PC of mine whose power supply broke, so the 2 partitions are as follows: (01) Personal Data (PC's C drive, basically) and (02) the "Recovery" partition, for system restore.
When I connect this EHD to my MacBook directly, it recognizes both partitions and I can access all files perfectly.
However, when I connect the EHD to my Time Capsule, I can only see the Recovery partition on the external drive. Is there any way I can fix this? (Or change it to recognize only the other partition?)
Thank you!

Welcome to Apple's discussion groups!
Is the format of the partition that won't mount on your Time Capsule perhaps NTFS? According to the electronic book "Take Control of Your 802.11n AIrPort Network (v1.6)" (http://www.takecontrolbooks.com/airport-n), "You must format mountable disks before you attach them to the base station, using either the Mac HFS+ format, or the FAT16 or GAT32 MS-DOS) formats."
I have no relationship with Take Control Books other than as a customer.

  • Connected Phone Was Not Recognized!!!

When i'm trying to update my phone software the nokia software updater shown this msg (Connected Phone Was Not Recognized). I'm complete uninstall & reinstall NSU but there was same problem. Guys tel me what can I do now?????

    Hi gulu20072010
You don't say which model of phone isn't recognized.
If you haven't already installed Nokia PC Suite then you are usually prompted to install PC Connectivity Solutions when you install Nokia Software Updater.
Unfortunately after un-installing applications, entries remain in the registry which can sometimes cause problems.

  • Hp officejet pro 8600 connected wirelessly but not recognized

I have an hp officejet 8600 n911a which is connected to my wireless internet. I have run wireless network test results and printer status reports which both show connected. when you touch the internet icon it shows connected also with an ip address. However it will not connect to my computer, ipod, ipad, or any other device to print. The product software will not even ping the device to connect to the printer. It is like it will accept an incoming connection from my router but not send out a connection signal or recieve a signal to print on the same wireless connection. I have verified that it is set up on the same internet connection but the device is not recognized and when I type in the ip address in the address bar of chrome or explorer it says page cannot be opened. However I can email wirelessly to my printer to eprint by using the email given to me by my printer. I am very confused. Any help would be great.

With the network does the 5Ghz wirless have a different name to the 2Ghz network?
If they have the same network name then you should change the ssids to be different so then you can tell which networks its on.
From what you have told me it sounds like a 5Ghz 2 Ghz mismatch

  • BlueTooth connects via HotSynch, not other means PALM TX

I am at my wit's end here. Really. I'm about to toss my Palm, and I'm hoping someone can help me out.
    Here's my setup:
    1. PALM T|X - less than a month old.
    2. Dell Inspiron 6000 laptop, running Windows XP Home SP2, 2gb of memory, Centrino technology.
    3. USB Bluetooth Adapter 2.0
    Here's my problem:
    1. I can connect, via Bluetooth, to my laptop in order to HotSynch. I did this by following the on-screen instructions on my Palm device.
    2. I cannot connect, via Bluetooth, to my laptop in any other fashion, despite following all of the on-screen instructions. So, when I attempt to go on the Network Service, click on the Connect button,my computer says "Bluetooth Connection Successful. Bluetooth device _ is connected to 'HotSych' service on this computer. Com 11."
The service connection progress never moves beyond that on the Palm device. I always get the following error:
    Error: PPP timeout (0x1231)
    My connection type is PPP
My idle timeout is 3 minutes, but even if I click "Never" it doesn't connect me.
    Query DNS is checked
IP Address is automatic is checked.
Is there PLEASE someone who can help me figure this out? I'd greatly appreciate it.
    Thank you.

  • Uploading SCO to Connect, .zip file not recognized?

I am working in Articulate Storyline 2, packaging as a swf/html5 compliant SCO using SCORM 2004 v.4. When I test the file at SCORM Cloud, the manifest is good and the project launches without issue. When I take the same file and attempt to load it to Connect, the system reports an error - "file format not recognized" I have no idea where to go with this - the Articulate site and this site have no ther instances of this issue - anyone? anyone? Bueller?????

    Hello!
I know just enough about Articulate and Presenter to be dangerous, so I'll reply.
Do you happen to have Adobe Presenter 7? I'm not sure about Storyline specifically but I know that with Adobe Presenter 7, you can edit files from Articulate Presenter 8, which can then be uploaded into Connect. Not sure if this is possible with Adobe Presenter 8+, but, it's still in the help files.
    http://helpx.adobe.com/presenter/using/creating-presentations.html
Now, I do know of some people who did directly upload Articulate Presenter courses directly to Connect without issue. I'll ask though - have you tried setting the content to track for AICC? I would recommend that, then republish.

  • Scanner/Camera via USB not recognized under 10.8

    Hi there,
after installing 10.8 on my 2011 iMac, neither my Lexmark Scanner nor my Camera are recognized via the USB-port by Image capture or iPhoto respectively; no matter if connected via USB-hub or directly to the iMac.
Odd enough, sending faxes or printing with the Lexmark works perfectly allright over the very same USB-connection, as well as p.e. dongles are recognized.
Needless to mention, with 10.7.4 everything went just fine; I updated the Lexmark drivers, I repaired permissions after the first install of 10.8 and even did a second install in the meantime - same prob!
    Any ideas???
THANKS and a wonderful weekend for You all...

So, as there was no help anywhere, neither from the guys at Lexmark nor here, I knew no better than to downgrade again to 10.7.4 (using TimeMachine) and: immediately the prob was solved, the scanner as well as the camera work just fine... odd thing, all the more as I seem to be the only one having this strange USB-bug...

  • My shuffle will not connect and is not recognized anywhere

I have had my shuffle for quite awhile... just after they came out with them. Everything has been going fine with it until about a week ago I connected to update it and a window popped up that said "Your iPod may be corrupt...". Since then I have not been able to connect my shuffle to my computer, it will not charge, and is not recognized by any computer. If anyone can help me I would greatly appreciate it, if not I guess its time to get a new iPod. Thanks!
      Windows XP

    A good news/bad news post...
I had the same problem, with my shuffle (original
512k). I couldn't run the reset utility because the
computer (imac) wouldn't even recognize that it was
connected. I pretty much gave up on it, but last
night I plugged it into the USB port to try it one
last time - nothing happened. But I forgot to pull
it out when I shut down and this morning while I was
working suddenly the shuffle was recognized by the
computer (actually a box came up saying the device
needs to be initialized or something). I quickly ran
the reset utility, the shuffle was recognized, itunes
launched and I was able to add music. I was so
excited I decided to share the news with the forum,
but while typing this very message the shuffle
disappeared from the desktop and I got a message
saying the device was removed improperly. Now the
bad news... if I plug in the shuffle it is once again
unrecognized by the computer. But at least I got
some tunes back on it, until I buy a replacement! And
    it did charge...

  • IPod touch stuck on USB connect screen but not recognized by iTunes

I downloaded the update for my iPod via iTunes but when the update attempted to install on the iPod, I received a message that the update failed. Now, my iPod is stuck on the USB connect screen (with the image of a cord below an arrow pointing to the iTunes logo). Every other thread says to connect to iTunes and attempt to reset the device (off and home button for several seconds) so I can restore it through iTunes, but even if I do that, it fails to connect to iTunes. Last time I had problems connecting to iTunes I downloaded the update through the iPod itself but seeing as I can't get off the USB connect screen, downloading it from the iPod is impossible. How can I get my iPod working again? Either getting it off the frozen screen so I can download the update, or getting my computer to recognize it so I can restore? Last time it wouldn't connect to iTunes (when it wasn't frozen) the computer still recognized it but now it does not. (I'm on a Windows 8 laptop)

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • AEBS Airport Extreme Printer connected by USB not recognized

My in-laws literally just bought a brand new AEBS yesterday. Plugged it in, the the Canon MX7600 multifunction printer into the AEBS usb port. My in-laws old Windows PC is connected to the internet via an ethernet connection to the AEBS.
    1. PC can see printer and prints fine, no problem
    2. AEBS cannot see printer using Aiport Utility v5.4.2 and the AEBS firmware version 7.5 when using in-laws brand new MacBook Pro which is connected wirelessly to AEBS.
    Can anyone out there help?

Have you tried the steps in "Printer troubleshooting for AirPort Base Stations and Time Capsule".
And you are aware that you will only be able to print... right? The USB port on the AEBS does not support FAXing nor scanning.

  • HT202157 My Apple TV will not update and it is connected via ether not wireless

I have an earlier version Apple TV and I have tried to update it several times using several methods.  I am connected to the internet via ether and not wireless and teh signal is good. I can stream without any issues ever.  the update is downloaded fine but not installed.  I get a failure to update message.  I have tried to updat normally, restore, reset, etc...... I have no more ideas.

Welcome to the Apple Community Bro.
If your problem persists get yourself a micro USB cable (sold separately), you can restore your Apple TV from iTunes:
        1.    Remove ALL cables from Apple TV. (if you don't you will not see Apple TV in the iTunes Source list)
        2.    Connect the micro USB cable to the Apple TV and to your computer.
        3.    Reconnect the power cable (only for Apple TV 3)
        4.    Open iTunes.
        5.    Select your Apple TV in the Devices list, and then click Restore.
(You may already have a micro USB cable if you have a camera or other digital device)

  • Connects via VGA, not DVI

I'm having a bit of a display problem with my Mac mini. The problem is that any digital connection from the mini via DVI cable doesn't seem to work. Right now I have an old crt monitor hooked up with the DVI to VGA adapter and any monitor seems to work this way. I have a DVI to DVI, and DVI to HDMI cable that's always worked before with the TV's and my regular Acer monitor. One night I was on Facebook, youtube, blah blah blah. Not doing anything out of the ordinary like installing programs or applying updates. The next time I try to use my Mac and the monitor says "no signal". I plugged the computer in the tv and it was saying the same thing. That's when I took the old crt monitor with the adapter and plugged it in which that works flawlessly. I tried repairing permissions, doing the intel SMC reset, and other basic troubleshooting steps.
This doesn't apply to the display issue, but withen the past year I've had components like the airport and, Superdrive fail spontaneously on separate accounts. I have those things somewhat fixed via an external DVD burner and an ethernet wire. I don't know if that has to do with the logic board of some sort, but perhaps that can help ya guys.
What steps would you sugest next?

    BSteely,
Alright. I get what your saying. I figured something like that happened, but I was kinda hoping it was a software issue since the Mac wasn't moved, budged, or handled in any way. I know most of the troubleshooting steps on a mac and a whole bunch on a PC considering that's what I fix on a daily basis. I don't do a whole lot of logic board work so I guess I'll have to live with the vga connection which I can live with. I'll have to find a decent LCD screen somewhere that supports vga so I don't have to keep this clunky crt on my desktop.
I finally decided to use the time machine feature and this is gonna do awesome. I bought a 1 TB drive to plug in through the usb port and it's working wonderfully. I know how ironic it is to have someone that repairs computers and not keep a back up.
Thanks for all the input BSteely. This isn't really anything that can be solved to I gave you the helpful star since you did give me that diagnostic. I truly appreciate it!

  • Ipod touch / iphone / ipod nano won't connect to iTunes (not recognized)

Up until yesterday everything was working fine. But now when I connect my ipod touch, iphons (1st), or ipod nano to iTunes, my PC recognizes them (show up in Windows Explorer), but iTunes does not recognize them anymore.
    I don't know what changed.
    I have reset all devices.
I have completely removed and reinstalled iTunes. (I've tried iTunes 10.5.1 and 10.5.2)
I have shut down and rebooted the PC (several times).
I have tried different USB ports and different cables.
My Windows 7x64 is fully updated.
Does anyone know how to help?

Sorry, I followed both guides and uninstalled everything - rebooted, reinstalled iTunes like your second link instructions said.
PC sees all devices fine in Windows Explorer (and makes the pling sound when I connect them, they just do not show up in iTunes.
(ipod nano, ipod touch 32GB, iphone 1st gen, ipad 1st gen)
Manually starting or restarting all itunes/ipod related services doesn't do a thing either, nothing will sync.
    I'm at a loss.

  • Remote Connection via WAN not an option

Recently I was gifted a TC from my uncle, who also purchased one. I set mine up and am simply utilizing the built in 500gb hard drive for storage, until I can purchase a TB external drive. He has a TB connected to his TC. We are running 7.4.1 firmware, and the AirPort Utility. I was able to open AirPort Utility and check the box for sharing the disks via WAN and can access the TC from any outside network. However, when we attempt to set up the WAN under the Disks/File Sharing tab, it only gives me the option to: "Share disks over the Internet using Bonjour." Does anyone have any ideas why we don't even have the option of selecting WAN?
    Thank you all!
