Partner determination for sales doc header
Dear all
I assigned 2 SH to 1SP in customer master but in sales order system allowing manually to select any SH which is not assigned to SP.

Hi Lucky,
To map your requirement please use the following path:
IMG> Sales and Distribution> Basic Functions > Partner Determination> Set Up Partner Determination--> Select (Set Up Partner Determination for Sales Document Header). Here Select the Standard order & select Partner function in Procedure. Here against Ship-to-party Line you can see the ORIGINAL TABLE coloumn Here select "C" - Partner function from customer master (table KNVP).
By doing the above settings the system will allow only partners from Customer master records.

Hi people
We have a partner function in sales order (carrier) that must be determinate by item, this is necessary because we sell different materias in the same order that can't be transported by the same carrier.
In customizing Partner Determination for Sales Document Header is possible to use an user exit assign the origin X, Y or Z, in this case I would use the exit EXIT_SAPLV09A_003, but for partner determination for sales document item i didn't find a way to assign the origin X, Y and Z
Does anyone have an idea for solving this?

EmersonWhatever Partner functions are assigned to the Procedure assigned to the Sales document Type, only those partner functions will feature in the Sales document header.
In the procedure assigned to the Item category you will find like that 3 only only as in the Sales order you can not have different Sold-to-party for different Item.
Whichever Sold-to-party is there in the header that is applicable to all item. So at item level Procedure
sold-to-party partner function is not required to assign.
Sold-to-party is unique for a Sales order and can not be changed.
But at Item level, you can have different Ship-to-party for different items so the partner function has to be there and to deliver the item one SH is mandatory, that is why it has been marked mandatory in the Procedure.
All the partner function assigned to the Procedure at header level will be copied to all item. In your procedure for the header you must be having 5 partner functions.
You can change the SH at item level for few items. -

Hi SD gurus,
Is there a way to set the a particular Partner type as mandatory in a sales document? In our sales order we identify the Sales Employee related to this sale. However there are times when users forget to select/identify them because it is not mandatory in the transaction. Is there a way to do this thru configuration?

Go to SPRO -> Sales and Distribution -> Basic Functions -> Partner determination -> Set up partner determination.
Here select the Set Up Partner Determination for Sales Document Header or Item per your requirement.
In the partner determination procedure select (highlight) the correct procedure and click on partner functions in procedure.
You can see the partner funtions in the procedure. There is a column mandatory function where in you can check for sales employee.
This is standard SAP functionality.

How to include a new Z Partner Function in Sales order header drop down lis
Hello SAP experts,
We have come up with a new requirement to include a custom Partner Function-ZI in dropdown of SO header-Partners field.
Current scenario- Presently we are maintaining this partner function ( Say ZI- Institute ) in customer master data-Sales area tab.There could be more than one partners under this PF in master data. While entering sales Order, all partners associated are displayed in Header- partners tab, where only SP, SH, BP, PY partner functions are displayed.
Requirement- 1. Is to provide Drop down of this ZI-Institute partner function (which I did not find presently) in SO header-partners field and user should be able to provide one of partner function as available in Customer master ( as there are more than one partners that can be set in Customer master data but user need to be able to provide ONE of this ZI partner fucntion in DROPDOWN of PF tab in SO header ).
2. In addition, How can I link this new partner function in related sales reports against that particulat order and invoice?
Kindly suggest your valuable inputs as what should be the procedure to get this.

OR
IMG >> SD >> Basic function >> Set up partner functions >> set up partner function for sales document header
click on partner function and Maintain partner function ZI and back
Then select your existing partner determination procedure (Standard is TA) and click on PARTNER FUNCTIONS IN PROCEDURE and add partner function. and make it mandatory so even user forget to mention then at the time of saving system can remind user
Then double click on PARTNER DETERMINATION PROCEDURE ASSIGNMENT
Assign partner procedure to sales document
Now when you creating sales order go to header partner tab and enter you institute partner number
For sales order and invoice report
Execute this report by selecting partner function ZI in VA05N and VF05 respectively

In the partner determination procedure you can determine whether partner functions can or should occur in a partner object (Customer Master, Sales Document, Item Category etc.) For each object, in which partner function can be created, you can define partner procedures. This also means that

We can define our partner determination procedure for each of these levels as shown below. In Blue are given the ones wherein the Partner Procedures are assigned to the Partner Objects

By assigning a procedure you determine for which account groups (for the customer master), which sales document types (for sales documents) and for which item categories this procedure would be valid.
In the partner determination procedure you can determine for each partner function
whether the partner function is an obligatory partner function
whether the partner function can be changed in the document
BUSINESS PARTNER FUNCTION
By assigning a business partner function to a partner you can determine which functions the partner fulfils in the business process. Partner Functions are classified using partner type. The partner type represents the roles played by the business partner within the business transaction.
Following partner functions exist in the standard process of Sales and Distribution
Partner Type Customer
Sold-to Party, Ship-to Party, Bill-to Party, Payer and Sold-to Party authorized to release against a contract. You can define the sold-to party authorized to release against a contract in the partner screen of a contract. This partner may only schedule orders with reference to this contract, even when he is not the sold-to party authorized against a contract.
Partner Type Contact Person
Contact persons are natural persons whom you must contact at the customers for business processing (e.g. purchasers) Contact person can be created directly in customer master record.
Partner Type Vendor
A forwarding agent is an example of a business partner on the credit side, who is included in a sales process. If you commission a particular forwarding agent for deliveries to a specific customer, you can define the forwarding agent in the customer master record as the partner.
The other possible partner functions on the credit side in the sale process are interpreters, auditors etc. The forwarding agent is an agent who performs transportation services. This includes organizing the shipment, delivery and receipt of the goods, arranging the carrier services and handling the customs issues.

You can enter an employee from your firm as the person responsible:
In the Customer Master If the employee is normally responsible for processing transactions with this customer.
In the Sales Document If the employee is responsible for processing the Business Transaction.
STEP WISE PROCESS FOR PARTNER DETERMINATION PROCEDURE
Sales and Distribution->Basic Functions->Partner Determination->set Up Partner Determination->Set up Partner Determination for Customer Master.
First go to OVT0 create customer account groups. Here you make new entries, click whether it is a one time customer, description. Also you can do the field selection here for general data, co. code data and sales area data.
Now go to IMG logistics general business partner customers control define & assign customer number ranges define the number. Here you range that you want and assign it to your customer account group.
Now go to VOPA here the selection will be on customer master, click on partner procedures, create the partner determination procedure. The following steps need to be done in partner determination area
Assign partner function to account group i.e SP,SH, BP, PY to account group (debit side ). Sales and Distribution->Basic Functions->Partner Determination->Assign Partner Functions on the debit side to account Groups.
Then create Partner Determination Procedure.
Assign the Partner Determination Procedure to Partner Function.
Then finally assign the Partner Determination Procedure to acc group.
Important Points in Business Partners and Partner Determination Procedure
Partner relationship maintained/defined in the customer master is proposed automatically in the document header when you create a sales document.
In customizing we can decide whether several partners can be assigned to one partner function in the customer master.
In sales documents, the system is configured so that only one partner can be assigned to each partner function.
We can define partners at item level in the sales documents.
Business Partners that are defined at the header level however cannot be changed at the item level.
You can prohibit anyone from changing a partner that has already been entered in a sales document.
It is also possible to manually change or enter the address of a partner, such as the Ship-to Party. This change does not affect the master record. -

For getting output Email or any media you have to do output determination. output determination is also carried by Condition techniques.
Configuration path: (following are the steps)
1) SPRO-> IMG-> Basic Functions-> Output Control-> Output Determination-> Output Determination using Condition Technique- >Output Determination for Sales Documents .
2) Create Condition Table: select the field Sales Doc Type from field catalog & Save
3) Maintain Access Sequence: 4-digits code & description.
4) Assign condition table to access sequence. Select Accesses line item and Go To Fields. Fields will display the fields we have selected in the condition table i.e. sales doc type. Maintain Output Types:BA00: Order Confirmation Select BA00 & Copy & Rename. Give the same 4-digit code as given to access sequence. You Can Maintain: Languages of Output Partners (to whom you need to send output) Print Program- print specification Sap Script- layout Assign Output Types to Partner Functions: go to new entries & assign your output type to partner functions. Maintain Output Determination Procedure: V10000 (Standard Procedure)here you select communication medium Email.
Go to new entries and create your own 6-digit code with description. Select the procedure, go to Control Data. Here mention the output type i.e. condition type and leave requirement and manual only columns as blank. Determination Rule: link the 6-digit procedure code to doc types. Create Condition Records: VV11. Select document type and click on Communication. Mention partner function, medium, time. Output device: LP01, Spool request Name: SD_003, Suffix 2: order_confir & flag on print immediately. Once you press enter you will come across 2 key combinations: Sales organisation/ Customer Number: fill SO, Customer No, Partner Function Abbreviation, Partner to whom the output should be sent, time, medium, language. It contains: Sales Orgnisation, Customer, Partner Function (The abbreviated form of the name that identifies the Partner) (During output determination, the system determines the recipient of the output from the master record for the specified partner function. In this field, you can explicitly specify a recipient that will override the standard partner. There must also be a master record for the partner that is specified explicitly.), Medium, Time & Language.} Order Type: Document Type, Partner Function (abbreviation), Partner, Medium, Time & Language. Path For Output Determination For Sales Documents: Logistics -> Sales/distribution -> Master data -> Output -> Sales Document -> Create (t-code VV11) Path for Output Determination

Option 1: In the customer master partner determination, add the Sales Person and Employee responsible partner functions and mark them as mandatory. In the Sales Order Header Partner Determination, add the same and mark them Mandatory. Then during order processing, the relevant Sales Person and Employee responsible will flow in the order header partners
Option 2: Mainatin a Z table based on Sales Area / any other specific parameter / Sales Person & employee responsible. You can improvise the table parameters as per your business needs and requirements.Then in the order user exit MV45AFZB in form_userexit_move_field_to_VBAK you can read this z table and get the sales person and employee responsible. May be you can add these two fields in Order Header- Additioanl Data B tab and populate them thru this program.

What is the need of creating partner functions for sales document type.

Actually we create partner functions before creating customer ex: sold to party, ship to party, bill to party, and payer.
These partner functions are going to be copied into sales order while processing sales order.
Again what is the need of creating partner functions for sales document type.

sreenivas peruruThere are some Partners you could enter at Sales ORder Level. E.g. Sales Person, Employee Responsible, Forwarding Agent, Broker, etc.
Thus these partner Determination need to be carried out at Sales Order Level & not at Customer Master level.
So we have to configure partner Determination for various levels e.g. Customer Master, Sales Order, Delivery level etc...

Validate Text Object/Id for sales Docs

WE have aprogram that updates header and item texts for sales documents. The problem is that the users sometimes give the wrong Object/Id combinations for sales docs and the BAPI is not giveng any error messages. Is there any method to validate if a Textobject/Id is valid for a particular sales document type?

Hari.If you are modifying existing tables, In that case STXH and STXL are the only table that you can help you.
Else, fire a READ_TEXT and then see the output to see if its a valid parameter and do the SAVE_TEXT / BAPI whichever one you are doing.
Again, these paramaters are not specific to the ORDER TYPE.

1. The output procedure will be one for total sales documents but if you want to assign different output types to different sales document types which are in same output procedure you can use this.
2. You can restric the output type based on the document type.

Item Category Determination for sales document- Item USAGE

I read already the discussions held around this subject, as I'm facing a similar problem for which I cannot find a solution.
I have the need to set up a ItCat determination for sales order ZPD.
The proposed ItCat must be <b>ZPDW</b>. However, for the NORM ItCat Group we have already a setup which cannot be changed.
This is the present status.
SaTy ItCatGrp Usage HLevItCat Proposed ItCat
ZPD NORM ZPD
I need that the proposed ItCat is ZPDW, under the same conditions

For that I believe that I'll have to play along with the Usage.
But how?
What triggers an USAGE during sales order creation? Is it related to the entered material. In a NORM material, how can a usage be deducted?

Error during material determination for sales document item - RRB

Iam getting following error when trying to create a billing request using DP91.
Error during material determination for sales document item 40001560/000010
Message no. AD01155
Diagnosis
An error occured during material determination for a dynamic item.
System Response
The system cannot perform the function.
Procedure
Check in the profile being used whether its characteristic allows the assignment of a material to each dynamic item.
I have checked my DIP profile using ODP02 there are no errors in it, I have created a Setid and assigned it to costing element in selection criteria and material determination criteria.
Material origin is checked in costing tab in material master.
Appreciate help in resolving this.
