Partner Determination in Marketing Activities

Hi,
Does anyone know if the following can be achieved as standard?
I have set up a marketing campaign with a communication medium which creates activities. As far as I can tell the employee responsible for the activities generated is the employee responsible for the marketing element.
However, I want the activities to be created with the employee responsible being the employee responsible for the business partner (e.g. account manager) i.e. the activity should be a reminder for the account manager to do something with that account.
Many thanks

Hi Andrey,
may be try and use the BP sales relationship than the standard BP relationship and this will help in looking for the account manager responsible for the BP nased on the sales area.
also try and use the check box that would mention that unless you find the partner do not proceed to the nexxt access sequence.
do you still need to enter the access sequence 30..try and delete that
thanks

  • Partner determination for marketing

    hi friends,
I have done all the settings for partner determination for marketing planner. But still getting error as Define partner determination procedure during creation of MP.Which is standard partner function to be used.....Did i miss something.?????
Please suggest for both my quries?
    Thanks in advance
    ajay

    Hi Ajay,
You should not use the partner determination of activities for marketing.
You use the following partner determination procedures.
    MACT0001
    MFND0001
You can copy any of the above procedure and create your own partner determination procedure.
    Hope it solves your problem.
    Reward points if it helps.

  • What is the purpose why we define partner determination

    hi
my question is what is use of partner determination.  How many partner functions we should create in customer master.  Is there any thumb rule we have create sd,bp,py,sh
    thanks in advance

    Hi,
We sell the goods to the customer who places the order. In SAP this ordering customer role is played by the sold to party. Similarly the shipping address is the ship to party used while creating the delivery. While creating the invoice we require the bill to party and for receiving the payment payer function is required. Hence partner determination procedure is very important in SD from the sales flow point of view otherwise if you create the customer without any partner function then you will not be able to create even the sales order.
SP, SH, BP & PY are the basic partner functions. Apart from this you can create partner function for commission agent, notifying party, sales employee, etc. You will find this in IMG-sales & distribution - basic functions - partner determination - set up partner determination. Click here and you will see
1.Set Up Partner Determination for Customer Master
2.Set Up Partner Determination for Sales Document Header
3.Set Up Partner Determination for Sales Document Item
4.Set Up Partner Determination for Delivery
5.Set Up Partner Determination for Shipment
6.Set Up Partner Determination for Billing Header
7.Set Up Partner Determination for Billing Item
8.Set Up Partner Determination for Sales Activities (CAS)
Just go through the documentation below. You will get a clear picture on how to do the partner determination procedure for a customer.
    <b>PARTNER DETERMINATION PROCEDURE</b>
<b>First go to OBD2</b> – create customer account groups. Here you make new entries, click whether it is a one time customer, description. Also you can do the field selection here for general data, co. code data and sales area data.
<b>Now go to IMG</b> – logistics general – business partner – customers – control – define & assign customer number ranges. Here you define the number range that you want and assign it to your customer account group.
<b>Now go to VOPA</b> – here the selection will be on customer master, click on partner procedures, create the partner determination procedure. After saving it double click on it then you will face with a screen. Here you enter the partner function and you can select if you want the function as mandatory and not changeable.
<b>Then go back</b>, click on procedure assignment, enter your account group in the lower left corner of the screen, press enter then in front of that select your partner determination procedure. Then save it.
<b>Then click on go back 2 times.</b> Here you can see partner functions, click on it, then go to environment in the upper menu and select Acct. grp assignment. Here just select your partner function and in front of that you select your customer account group. Then save it. Now you have completed the pre requisites to create the customer master.
<b>Then go to XD01</b> and create your customer master.

  • Problems with Partner determination in activities generated from call list

In our scenario we are using IC Win Client 5.0.
During the generation of the call list it to my understanding that when a call is scheduled for a Business Partner a corresponding activity is created and linked to the call. It is in this process that the partner determination procedure for the linked activity kicks in and should determine the BP from the sceduled call and fill the field 'Sold-to-Party' in the activity.
However this is not working!! I have tested basically all of the standard access sequences for the partner determination procedure and I haven't been able to do it.
By using standard access sequence 0019 I was able to determine the BP using the relationship, however when opening the generated activity an error ocurrs that  states the following message: 'Only one partner function of function category Sold-to-Party is allowed'.
Whats really odd is that if we erase the Sold-to-party field leaving it blank and press enter, the contact person is filled in the same field! It seems like something is missing in the procedure or the way I use the access sequence.
    Please help!
    Thanks in advance,
    Pedro

    Pedro
For activities you should not determine SoldToParties, but rather Activity Partners. Please have a look at the standard partner schemes for activities, to see which partner functions are usually used for activities besides the activity partner.
If you have to use soldtoparty partner functions, please take into account that they have special checks enabled.
The system fills in the organization instead of the contact person, esp. if no contact person exists: In R/3 you can have non-reflexive partner functions, but in CRM these are not saved. Instead in partner determination if no target can be found the origined partner itself is used as a result. That is why the organization is put into the result instead of the contact person.

  • Simple doubt in partner determination procedure

    Hi gurus,
I have a problem with a partner determination procedure. I need that a marketing campaing has a partner determination procedure in which Responsible Person will be mandatory with two assignments.
In my partner determination procedure I select 2 as minumun value but the marketing campaing allows only one Responsible Person assigment.
It's possible to make a partner function mandatory with a minimun number of partners?
    Thanks in advance.

    hi guys
i have a query regarding access sequence in partner determination in SAP CRM.problem is that when i am trying to create a partner determination procedure using access sequence
    Business Partner Relationship->Activity Partner->User
    having three partner functions :
    Sales Prospect
    Contact Person
    Person Responsible
there is deadloack arising in contact person and person responsible i.e. partner function is not being determined using the above access sequence
i have maintained same relationship categories.please tell me whether deadlock is a problem or not because my main concern is when i am trying to run Lead using above mentioned partner determination procedure i am not able to run the LEAD.for instance ideally what should be happening is :
    there are three blank boxes
one of contact person ,another of person responsible and finally of sales prospect.now since i have defined the BP relationship,so using above determination procedure what shoulod be happening is that if
m writing any BP no. in sales prospect then conatct person should be dispalyed automatically because of the relationship i have maintained in BP.
but its not happening ,i have to fill each entriers manually
please guide me to some solution
hoping of an immediate help to a silly problem which i guess m able to define appropriately
    thanks & regards

  • PARTNER DETERMINATION USING STANDARD RULE ORGUNIT EMPLOYEE

    HELLO FRIENDS,
We are using a standard (orgunit employee) rule for partner determination. the description is as follows:
    hierarchy:
    CIRCLE ->  BRANCHES
the employee stated above comes under the circle but creates leads for all the branches.
    The PDP goes as follows:
user (employee stated above) enters branch -> branch determines circle through responsibility rules and the employee automatically determines the employee.
the PDP works fine for users of earlier created circles but now we are creating new circles and new position for these employees in a similar manner and the PDP gives the error enter employee (even though the circle is determined).
Please let me know if there are some parameters that we are missing or some technical issues that need to be taken care of while using the standard (orgunit employee) rule.
    Thanks and regards
    Nitin Sehgal

    Hello Nitin,
Did you create an employee record for the User. If you create an employee did you assign the user id for that employee.
    Check this assignment.

  • Organizational data determination for mkt. activities

We need organizational data determination for mkt. activities created from campaigns. In CRM we have only the Marketing part of  the clients organization, using Marketing scenario in PPCOMA_CRM.
If we leave org. unit field of activity blank, the activity has a red error light.
The responsable person is the one from the campaign. It is responsable of en Marketing unit (that was assigned to campaign).
The possible solutions for our cliente could be 1) org data determination from preceding document or 2) org data determination from the Mkt organization of the responable person.
Concerning 1) There is no "natural" way to assign the preceding
    document (campaign). Am I right?
Concerning 2) The only way to determine the an unit, was choosing Organizational Model Determin. Rule 10000148 to perfile ZDUOCTEST and later changing the scenario of rule 10000148 from sales to marketing. This obviosly is not standard. As rule and perfile now have diferent scenarios. What would be the standard solution?
    Thanks for help.
    Cristina

    hi
please do not get confused by the terminology of the standard solution, what you are doing by changing the scenariop from sales to marketing is actually a standard solution,
as an activity is generated in response to the campiang or survey being submitted, and it is always a sales scenario ,since further activity application is in martketing scenario ,so what you are doing is changing the scenario from sales to marketing so that from those activities tyou can generate the org data, this is the standard and it goes this way only
if you want to work other way around then just use the preceding document access sequence in the scenario like then you have to use the campaign data instead of the activity generated in response to the campaign,

  • Assign partner determination procedure for campaign automation

    Dear all,
could anyone help me how to set up Partner determination in CRM? I try to create campaign automation and when I want to release it I get this error message:
    Diagnosis
Campaign 1: Parties involved have been assigned to this marketing project. However, there is no partner determination procedure assigned to type "Product Promotion" (Z002).
    System Response
The partner determination procedure is determined from the type. If you select a type that does not have a partner determination procedure assigned to it in Customizing although parties involved are assigned to the marketing project, the assigned parties involved cannot be validated. You therefore need to choose a type with a partner determination procedure assigned if parties involved are assigned to the marketing project.
Afterwards I§m not allowed to save the campaign changes and to release the campaign.
Please, how can I assign the Partner determination procedure?
    Thank you very much
    Michal

    Hi,
For setting up partner determination procedure for Campaign, goto transaction spro.
Choose CRM->Marketing ->Marketing Planning and Campaign Management
In here, please expand the node 'Partner Processing'. There is IMG documentation help available on how to set up PDP.
    Hope this helps.

    Hello Rajesh,
The PDP is set up in customizing. You must create a regular partner determination procedure. In the IMG choose
    CRM>Basic Functions>Partner Processing-->Define Partner Determination Procedure
You can define a partner determination procedure for each object type.
PDP assigned to the object type Campaign can also be campaign-type-dependent.
    IMG:CRM>Marketing>Marketing Planning and Campaign Management>Partner Processing>
    Assign Partner Determination Procedure
    Hope this helps!

  • Partner Determination Not Working in Opportunity

    Hi,
We are using Z-partner Functions Which are Determined using Partner Determination Procedure in Lead but it is not Copied to opprtunity.
we used Different partner procedure for opportunity but is not coping from Lead. We tried to Modify the partner Procedure used for Lead and use it for Opportunity but it is not working.
can any one suggest were we might be going wrong.
    With regards,
    Selvam t

    Hello Selvam,
there is no copy procedure during partner determination. If you create a followup doc or copy an existing document - the partner det. runs again. According to your settings in the PDP the partner are determined by access sequence and source. That means if you want partners which should be copied from predecessor then you should use the source COM_PARTNER_A like i.e. access sequence 0001 in standard.
    I hope this help,

  • Territory and partner determination procedure for employee responsible

    Hi CRM team,
I have a little issue for you I'll be very thankfull if someone could help me.
There is the organisation of the territory management in the company I'm working for:
    -Country
    -Region
    -sector
*each sector have a determination rule based on 1 condition "1 field from the BP Header (customer)"
*each sector have a position assigned to it. (Organisational model PPOMA_CRM) And there is 1 or 2 employee affected to each position..
    *When creating an activity,*
*First thing I enter the Account (customer: activity partner)*
*I would like the system to determine the employee affected to the sector of the BP as the employee responsible.*
    Any Idea?
For the moment, I'm searching in the partner determination procedure. But the standard access sequence Business Partner Relationships: Activity Partner -> User dont work.
There is some sitting from my IMG:
The partner fonction Employee Responsible is with
    *fonction category: employee
    *usage: CRM
*Relationship category: Is the employee responsible for
    Partner determination procedure:
In the acces sequence, I put a dialogue seq 15 :
    Business partner from territory
And in the detail on source, I put:
    Fonct. categ. : Employee
    Usage: CRM
    It dosn't work...
I don't know if I'm am searching in the right place.
Could you help me with a solution to have the needed system behavior????
Thanks a lot for your time and your help.
    Best regards,
    Ahmed.

    Hi Ahmed,
After created determination rules for territories have executed the report CRM_TERRMAN_PROC_REL for initial option?
Once territories and determination rules are created, you need to run the above report in Background(schedule a batch job) which will establish relationships between the territories and corresponding attributes. You need to run this report every time there is a change in determination rule of create/change territories.
    This should resolve your problem
    Regards,
    Priyanka

  • Partner determination at shipment stage level

    Dear All,
We would like to have multiple partner functions determined for a shipment stage within the shipment. Stages are maintained for the shipment route. But we dont want to maintain the service agent at stage level inside the route in IMG. This only determines one partner at stage level. We need multiple partners. Which exit can help here? I dont think normal partner determination exit can be used here like EXIT_SAPLV09A_004 as it is not called in shipment. Please suggest.

  • Error in CHARM_CREATE when using a Z partner determination procedure

    Hi,
I use SDCR and needed to create a new partner determination procedure ZDCR0001. I don't need to change anything else in this Change Request transaction type, so everything else is standard. When I run CHARM_CREATE now, the program is using the partner determination procedure instead of the text determination procedure SDCR0001 in order to get the text ids, and then I have an error: Text determination procedure ZDCR0001 does not exist.
I noticed that there is a problem in the standard code of CHARM_CREATE:

This function module is for getting texts, but uses the partner procedure. I created a message and sent to SAP, but they say they don't have this error there. Has any of you had the same problem? I could not find any note to correct this code. I have SP 17 for ST.

    Hello Prashant,
    You are missing some configuration for the partner function;
    Go- to
    SPRO>IMG>QM>Quality Notifications>Notification Creation>Partners>Define partner Determination Procedure>
Again Select "Define Partner Determination Procedure".
    Select Quality management> Change Partner
    Now Select Q2.
Compare settings with Partner Determination Procedure on any other client. Also check Partner functions on the same screen.

  • Plant as a Vendor in Partner Determination

    Hi
In the Partner tabs, I need to determine the Plant as a vendor.
Do I need to create a relationship of the Plant with BP. If yes, what should be the relationship category? I am using "has undefined relationship".
To determine the Plant in Partners tab as one of the Partner, In access sequence, I have used the source as "Business Partner relationships" with the details on the source as Partner function - Sold to party.
In the partner determination procedure, I have assigned this Access seq, with function as Vendor.
While executing the transaction, I am not getting the Vendor determined automatically.
    Any inputs would be helpful.
    thanks
    Yash

    Yash,
In order to determine the plant as the vendor you need the following elements established:
    1.  Plants setup as business partners in CRM
    2.  Plant relationship to business partners in CRM.  You will need to create a new relationship category in order to set this part up.  Use transaction BUBA to setup the new category.  The role of the corresponding partner should be "vendor".  Now assign the plants to your business partner using the new relationship category.
    3.  Configure your partner determination procedure to pickup the vendor from the relationship category you defined before.
I have done something similar with a completely "custom" partner function so, this should probably work for something more standard like a vendor.
    Good luck,
    Stephen
