PASE Tags & Photoshop Browser Keywords

I would like to know if anybody knows if there is the possibility of compatability between the keywords in Photoshop Browser (CS) and the tags in Photoshop Album Starter Edition 3.0 (currently unlocked)?
I have created a graphics library in PS and have attached keywords to my files for future searching. The library is located on a PC drive that is accessible across the network.
I would like a colleague to be able to help me build the libray, and was wondering if PASE could be used to tag files, that would cross over to PS?
Any ideas or suggestions appreciated.
Lucy

Hi Lucy,
Well, I am VERY surprised and disappointed by the result I just got. PSE
doesn't even READ Photoshop file formats... PSE 4.0 definitely reads psd
format, thus I can guarantee that 5.0 would as well. However, I noticed that
4.0 does NOT read the keyword field from the psd format. Not sure if this is
the same in 5.0. You might consider two things... first, it is overkill to
pay full price for PSE 5.0 if you own CS. See if Adobe will cut you a deal
for PSE 5.0... BUT before you do that... ask Adobe Sales if 5.0 can read the
keyword field. I don't have it yet, so I can't tell you.
Cheers

  • Make Picasa Web Albums tags from iPhoto keywords

Anyone know why the "Make Picasa Web Albums tags from iPhoto keywords" option does not seem to work? I expected to see the keywords I added to my photo in iPhoto also in Picasa on the web after they have been uploaded.
Downloaded and installed "Picasa Web Albums Uploader" version 1.3.1.680 from Google. Then from within iPhoto did a File > Export. The above option is shown on the "Picasa Web Albums" tab. I am using iPhoto 09.
Thank you very much for your help.

For help with the Picasa Web Albums Uploader, best to seek advice from the makers, after all, no one knows it better than they do.

  • Photoshop (Elements) Keywords to iPhoto Keywords

I haven't tried it yet, but Rob from osxhints.com has written a new script for getting Photoshop keywords assigned as iPhoto keywords. If you are switching from Windows and have been using the Photoshop Elements Organizer's Tags, you can use this to move your tags to iphoto, too.
In Elements, first use the Organizer's Write Tags to File command before you move your photos to the Mac, then run this script:
    http://scriptbuilders.net/files/iphotoiptckeywordimportexportutilities1.0.html
EDIT You can also use it to assign iPhoto Keywords as IPTC metadata keywords for PS and other apps that use those.

    Thanks for the info Barbara!

  • Elements tags into Lightroom keywords AND maintain structure?

Hi, I would like to move from using Elements to using Lightroom. Whilst I realise that I can import my catalogue and photos, which should also create all my keywords, I am concerned that the existing keywords/tags parent/child structure would be lost? They would be created as a single contiguous list?
Can anyone confirm this is the case, and if so, does anyone know how to go about moving the tags across whilst maintaining the original structure AND remaining associated with the correct photos?
    Thanks,
    Gareth

Just to add to what Jeremy2 said:
You do NOT import the photos. Let me say that again. You do NOT import the photos.
You use the menu command File->Upgrade Photoshop Elements Catalog

  • Compare 'Folder tags' to imported Keyword Tags

I have asked questions about thumbnails in PSE11 that aren't being correctly displayed ,but I have yet to get any answers.
I though perhaps I should breakdown the problem into easier component to see if I can get to understand just what is going on & be able to fix the problem myself.
For instance if I open the 'My Folders' I see a list of file names that correspond to those 'imported keyword tags.'  If I take a folder called China I see the thumbnails & when I hover the mouse I see that it has tags China,Beijing area & my wife's name.  If I were then to go to the imported Keyword Tags & I can see a tag 'Dubai'.  Just to see what happens I drag the picture to the Dubai tag.  This is accepted.  Because if I go back to the original tag I now see tags China,Beijing area,& my wife's name as well as Dubai.
If I go the see the folder 'Dubai' in my folders the picture doesn't appear.  Why not? This is just a crazy experiment but I can't make out what happened.  Any Ideas?

    Hi,
Photoshop Elements does not enforce a direct relationship between Folders and Tags - they are different ways to view your images.
If you start by showing all media and then select a folder, you will get the all the images in that folder shown.
If you start by showing all media and then select a tag, you will see all the images with that tag.
If you start by showing all media, then select a folder and then select a tag, you get all the images in that folder that have the selected tag.
A tag can be applied to any image irrespective of which folder it is in.
For instance, if you have two folders called Holiday 2012 & Holiday 2013 with photos of your holidays for each of the years and in each year you have a photo of the same monument, you could tag those photos with the monument name. Later you could view all the holiday photos for a particular year or you could show the photos of the monument for the two years.
It is possible to create tags from the folder name but the relationship is not maintained.
The fact that you talk about "Imported keyword tags" suggests that you entered the tags outside of Photoshop elements before you imported them. If you had a previous version of Photoshop elements, the normal approach is to convert the old catalog. That way the tags would show up in the original structure rather than be "imported".
I hope that the above helps - forgive me if I stated what you already knew.

  • Apply Conditional Build Tags to Index Keywords?

My client has a bespoke module for a specific customer in
their software. There is a common Help Topic with conditional build
tags applied to content, so that one Layout is for the standard
product, and the Help excludes all mention of the bespoke material,
and the other layout includes text on the bespoke module. This
works well, except for the Index Keywords for the bespoke stuff,
which still appear in the Index for the standard Help Guide.
Any ideas anyone? How do I tag index keywords so they are
    excluded from a defined Layout?

Thanks Peter, So that's what they're for!
(I don't know if you ever used ForeHelp, but the Index tags
were inserted immediately next to their tagged text, so that they
were automatically included within the boundaries of the
Conditional Build Tags. This also had the benefit that when
exporting to Word, the Index at the back gave reference to the
actual page number, not the page number of the beginning of the
topic. Quite useful; I was thinking along those lines...)

  • How to tag media with keywords in Premiere CS5.5?

    Hi,
I'm searching for a way to tag media (movie clips, subclips, sequences..) with multiple keyword tags.
It seems that Bridge uses tags, but this functionality is only for real files. I'm using many subclips that I need to keyword tag within Premiere, and then be able to perform filtered searches by keywords.
I'm really surprised that the metadata function in Premiere does not include keword tagging support. The best it seems to offer is a field named "description".
It seems that earlier/simplified (premiere elements) versions did support this. Is it relly possible that the Pro version of Premiere does not include this basic and useful tool ?
    Many thanks in advance !
    Daniel

You can't (unless you want to store them next to the originals, a proposition I find untenable).  Some of the scratch disk settings are stored at the project level (things like video and audio previews), but the one's you're talking about are global - one setting for the whole program.
I don't like that arrangement myself.  ALL scratch disks should be stored per project.

  • Non display of Repeater Tag in browser outside weblogic

    Hi.
I've got an app that uses a repeater tag to display a list/matrix of data. When
I run it using the weblogic browser, it works fine. But as soon as I use IE or
Netscape, for some reason, the repeater tag no longer gets displayed. All the
labels and buttons outside the tag is fine, but everything inside the tag is gone.
I've tried everything I could think of but without any success. I've got a feeling
that its got something to do with the data I return, or rather accessing the database.
    Any help would really appreciated.
    Thanx
    Elbert

Never mind. I'm just talking to myself this morning. Sticking
the repeater in a canvas tag solved the problem

  • Export photos with tags Photoshop 9

I have Photoshop 9 and installed it on a new computer with Windows 8. I exported my photos from my old computer and imported them to Photoshop 9 on the new machine but I have lost all the tags and folders I had organized them into on the old computer. Can anyone help?
    Howard 66

It’s best to create an album or temporary album. You can then add the exports and drag them into any order. They will stay in your chosen order. You can then make slideshows and other creations using your album contents.

  • Apply Conditional Build tag to Browse Sequence

    Hi Everyone-
I'm trying to control 6 conditional builds in one project. I
have 6 working indexes and TOCs using build tags. I was wondering
if there was a way to apply tags or somehow conditionalize the
    browse sequences. I'm running RH7.
    Thanks in advance!
    Wendy

    Hi Wendy:
It seems you are having the same problem that I did. I have
different User Guides however some of the Guides may have the same
procedure. I was trying to setup the search so only one of the
topics would return on the search and not 3 of them. I found
something that actually had to do with RoboHelp x3 but I applied it
to RoboHelp x5, where you need to do the following.
Create build TAG1 - this is for the ones you do not want
    search to return.
Create build TAG2 - this is for the ones you do want the
    search to return.
Apply the tags accordingly to each procedure accordingly.
Make copies of the following files in the WebHelp directorys
    just incase:
    Folder WHDATA:
    whftdata0.htm
    whwdata0.htm
    Folder WHXDATA:
    whftdata0.xml
    whfwdata0.xml
    Folder WHGDATA
    whlstf0.htm
GENERATE PRIMARY LAYOUT (This should be set to Webhelp)
    1. Define the Conditional Build Expressioin to exclude topics
that are not wanted in the search:
    A. Click the Define button.
This wil bring up the Define Conditional Build Tag
    Expression dialog.
    B. Click the Advance button.
    C. Click the Not button.
    D. Select TAG1 from the drop-down list of Available
    Conditional Build Tags.
    E. Click the Add Tag button.
    F. Click OK
    G. Select your WebHelp Options, and then click Finish.
When you pull up your test or Dev site and perform a search
you should only come up with one topic. I just finished this and it
worked. Also, as a reminder I am working in x5 and not x7.
    Good Luck,
    Amy

    Above is my altered XML.
    I went to
    http://sharepoint/Search/Pages/results.aspx?k=Document%201
and edited Refinement Panel, Web Part
Refinement in Refinement Panel, Filter Category Definition, that is the XML above!  I ONLY changed Title="Tags" to be "Enterprise Keywords"  and when I do so, (DEselecting the Use Default Configuration), Tags "Disappears"
after I check in the Search Results page!
If I select the "Use Default Configuration" checkbox, and click Apply, OK, Check In the page, Tags appers!
I even tried to rename "Tags" to "Tagss" and it still "Disappeared!"
Anyway that I can rename that to avoid confusion with my users as I tell them to use "Enterprise Keywords" and then it says "Tags" in Refinement Panel.
SharePoint 2010 SP2 September 2013 CU, IE 9 x86 on Windows 7 SP1.  I tried on firefox as well, refreshing, and same "result!"

    Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to rename "Tags".
For taxonomy filter categories, we need to use the following title: Tags for taxonomy tags filter categories by using
owsmetadatafacetinfo to display the generated category.
In the other word, we cannot edit the “Tags” Title.
