Pass a value returned from variable to parameter ssis 2012

DECLARE
@var1
sql_variant

@DatabaseName
EXEC
[SSISDB].[catalog].[set_execution_parameter_value]
@execution_id,
@object_type=30,
@parameter_name=N'DatabaseID',
@parameter_value=@var1hi
all, is it possible to pass the variable value to the parameter instead of the value like above instead of value, in the above case @database holds value of the database

"pass
the variable value to the parameter instead of the value like
above instead of value"
is misleading
where do you pass what from?

  • Can I use the value returned from a Text Function in another Formula?

    I'm writing a report in Hyperion System 9 BI + Financial Reporting Studio version 9.2. I have 2 grids in my report.
    Grid1 Column A is set up as a text function using the function type - <<GetCell("Grid2", 1, a, 1)>>. I would like to use the values returned from this text function in Column A (Grid 1) in a formula in Column B (Grid 1).
    Is it possible to use the values returned in Column A of the text function in another formula? My report does not seem to recognize Column A as numerical values, even though the values to be returned are numerical.
    If so, how do I recognize the values in Column A Grid 1 as numerical values and not text?
    Thanks for any help you can offer!

    Hi Edson,
    Yes you need to use the CALC_ERROR macro function to be able to test whether the last macro function returned an error. CALC_ERROR will return an 'X' if there an error occured during the execution of the last macro function.
    You can use a macro similar to the following:
    IF
      CALC_ERROR( )
      = 'X'
          DO SOMETHING HERE
    ENDIF
    Let me explain how this works internally. The SAP system maintains a global variable g_flg_calc_error during the execution of macros in the planning book. The g_flg_calc_error variable will contain the value of f_calc_error that was set by the last macro function which executed. The ABAP coding of a planning book is something like this:
    data: g_flg_calc_error type /SAPAPO/FLAG.
    * SAP will pass g_flg_calc_error variable to all macro
    * functions. When SAP calls a macro function, it does
    * something like this.
    call function '/SAPAPO/MACRO_FUNCTION_HERE'
            exporting
              plob_values      = i_s_adv_plob_values
              sdp_book         = g_c_advf_sdp_book
              sdp_view         = g_c_advf_sdp_view
            tables
              cols_index       = i_t_cols
              value_tab        = l_t_value_tab
            changing
              f_calc_error     = g_flg_calc_error
    As you can see, the g_flg_calc_error variable
    is passed in the "changing" part of the call. The macro  function being called can then use the f_calc_error
    variable to change the value of the global
    g_flg_calc_error variable. In fact, the macro function being called can also check (by looking at the f_calc_error variable) if the last macro function reported an error.  The CALC_ERROR macro function just checks the value of f_calc_error parameter (w/c in fact is the value of the g_flg_calc_error variable) and returns "true/X" if the f_calc_error was set to true by the last macro function.
    Hope this helps in clearing things out

  • Passing JavaScript values to JSP variables

    Can any body correct the follwing code
    <Script language="JavaScript">
    function test( x )
    <%
    int num = x;
    num = num * 2;
    %>
    v.value = "<%out.print(num);%>";
    <input type="button" name="b" value="test" onClick="test(5)">
    <input type="text" name="v" value="0">
    In short, I am trying to pass JavaScript value to JSP variable. I hope that it is possible to do that. If it is possible then how can I do it. I want to assing the variable x passed to the JavaScript function called test to the JSP variable called num.
    Regards,
    Ageel

    Thank you for your reply,,,
    I think then the only way to do it is to post the
    value on the server and then use request.getParameter
    method in jsp code
    but the question now how can I post values to the
    server using JavaScript without reloading the pageyes... you can to it by create a new popup window which will submit the value to server after page was loaded... then, server return a value to the same window in html/jsp page which then using javascript to set it back to the opener and close up the window... however, this is not a good choice unless you have no other alternative...
    >
    There is other possible solution
    if I can get the text field value from the same page
    without reloading it that would work fine and will
    solve my problem, is it possible?yes... you can get the value from the textfield...
    for example :
    function showValueInTextField()
        alert(document.forms[0].elements["mytextfieldname"].value);
    >
    My final question> can jsp change things on the same
    page without reloading it. I mean can it work like
    JavaScript so that I can use it's internal functions
    instead of using java script :S
    not really know what you trying to say here...

  • Assigning value returned from RFC call to a global variable

    If I have an RFC call to SAP how can I assign the value returned to a global variable on my data services job?

    Hi,
    For now, it seems u haven't specified the destination properly. the call function statement must be suffixed with the 'destination' addition to make sure that the function call is an RFC and the particular function be executed at the desired destination.

  • Passing multiple values to a single input parameter

    Hi folks,
    I have a Microstrategy query successfully passing input parameter to a calculation view.  For example I can pass a movement type to a material movements calculation view input parameter.  However if I try to pick more than one movement type the query then fails;
    Generated SQL that works looks like this;
    select
    sum(a11.TOTALQUANTITY)  WJXBFS1
    from
    "_SYS_BIC"."MyPackage/CA_TEST_PASS_PARAMETER"
    ('PLACEHOLDER' = ('$$MoveType$$', '101')
    a11
    When choosing more than one value in Microstrategy the SQL now fails and looks like this;
    select
    sum(a11.TOTALQUANTITY)  WJXBFS1
    from
    "_SYS_BIC"."MyPackage/CA_TEST_PASS_PARAMETER"
    ('PLACEHOLDER' = ('$$MoveType$$', '101'),
    'PLACEHOLDER' = ('$$MoveType$$', '103'))
    a11
    If I cut and paste the SQL and run directly in HANA studio the error is;
    Could not execute 'select sum(a11.TOTALQUANTITY) WJXBFS1 from "_SYS_BIC"."MyPackage/CA_TEST_PASS_PARAMETER" ...' in 66 ms 361 µs .
    SAP DBTech JDBC: [2048]: column store error: search parameter error:  [2018] A received argument has an invalid value;TABLE/VIEW parameter: ( 'PLACEHOLDER'='$$MoveType$$, 103') not supported
    Is it possible to pass multiple values in a single parameter?  I'm using SP67 for this test.
    Thanks,
    -Patrick

    Ravi, also to answer one of your questions about how this will work in Microstrategy; I just heard back from my Microstrategy developer and he is trying MSTR Freeform SQL query with syntax like this;
    select (sumPAR_TEST.TOTALQUANTITY TOTALQUANTITY
    from "_SYS_BIC"."MyPackage/CA_TEST_PASS_PARAMETER"
    ('PLACEHOLDER' =('$$MoveType$$', '[Movement Type]')) PAR_TEST
    In this example [Movement Type] is the microstrategy prompt.  Unfortunately though it translates like this which is missing extra single quotes around each value;
    select     sum(PAR_TEST.TOTALQUANTITY)  TOTALQUANTITY
    from     "_SYS_BIC"."development.pr1959/CA_TEST_PASS_PARAMETER"
    ('PLACEHOLDER' = ('$$MoveType$$', ''101', '102''))   PAR_TEST
    instead of what we need which is;
    ('PLACEHOLDER' = ('$$MoveType$$', '''101'', ''102'''))   PAR_TEST
    So at this point we are not sure if this will be possible or not.

  • How to use value returned from a bean in jsp page

    Hi All,
    I have a string array value being returned from a javabean to a jsp page. I want to be able to assign the value to a variable in the jsp page.
    How do I do this?
    Many thanks :)

    thanks for your response.
    I actually used something like this:
    <% String loggedin = log.User(user,password);
    out.println(loggedin);
    %>i am not yet as much of an expert on beans as i would like to be, but i thought it is not really a bean if it has a getter method which takes arguments?

  • Passing multiple values to the QUERY BDOC parameter?

    hi All,
    Below is my Query BDOC Anchor Before Query Execute even handler... I'm trying to pass multiple values to the         bq.Z_PartnerFunction query parameter... i.e.
    PARTNER_FCT in( '00000012','ZDIVMGR','ZAREADR')
    is it possible without creating new Query Bdoc ?
    ====================================
    Private Sub aempchoicewinTCWSearchTAnchor_beforeQueryExecute(ByRef bq As BusinessQuery, ByRef cancel As Boolean)
    If Not bq Is Nothing Then
            If sWcDummy = "Yes" Then
                    bq.WcDummy = sWcDummy
            End If
            bq.Z_PartnerFunction = "00000012"
            If ctrlZ_Territory.Value <> "" Then
                 bq.PRNB_TerrID = "*" & ctrlZ_Territory.Value
            End If
    End If
    End Sub
    ================================
    Thanks in advance
    Hetal

    Hi,
    it looks that you already enhanced the query BDoc because you have a new query parameter bq.Z_PartnerFunction, right?
    To which BDoc parameter is this BQ parameter mapped? And how looks the related where clause?
    For a single filter normally a "=" operator is used. Therefore your example with "in" won't work.
    If these three partner functions are fixed then you might hardcoded them directly in the where clause (supposed the BDoc is not used somewhere else where you don't want to have this filter).
    Or you might add 3 new BDoc parameters, add 3 new where clauses using a disjunction for them (and using an embracing bracket). In this case always all these 3 BQ parameters need to be filled (or all stay empty) to avoid a SQL syntax error.

  • Pass the value of a variable in a KM Option

    Hi Gurus,
    We have developped a LKM using existing DBlinks to extract data. Since we are not allowed to created DBlinks ourselves on the source DBs, we have added an option in the KM to specify the name of the DBlink that should be used.
    It worked well because we only had the prod context.
    Now we have a Dev and Test context for some dataservers. Our idea was to put a variable DBL_NAME as the option value and refresh it in a package. The dblink name is store in a table with its associate context name and we retrieve the context using the Substitution API : SELECT value from PARAM WHERE param = '<%=odiRef.getContext("CTX_NAME")%>'
    As the value of option DBLINK_NAME we put #PROJECT.DBL_NAME.
    However at runtime the variable is not resolved so its name appears instead of its value : +... from MIN.DATASTORE@#PROJECT.DBL_NAME DATASTORE where     (1=1)+.
    Do you have any idea of the cause of the behavior ?
    We are working with ODI 11.1.1.5.
    Here is the code of our KM :
    create or replace view <%=odiRef.getObjectNameDefaultPSchema("L",  "" , "W")%><%=odiRef.getInfo("COLL_NAME")%>
    +(+
         +<%=odiRef.getColList("", "[CX_COL_NAME]", ",\n\t", "", "")%>+
    +)+
    as select     <%=odiRef.getPop("DISTINCT_ROWS")%>
         +<%=odiRef.getColList("", "[EXPRESSION]", ",\n\t", "", "")%>+
    +from     <%=odiRef.getSrcTablesList("", "[SCHEMA].[RES_NAME]@"+"odiRef.getOption("DBLINK_NAME")"+" [POP_TAB_ALIAS]", ", ", "")%>+
    +where     (1=1)+
    +<%=odiRef.getFilter()%>+
    +<%=odiRef.getJrnFilter()%>+
    +<%=odiRef.getJoin()%>+
    +<%=odiRef.getGrpBy()%>+
    +<%=odiRef.getHaving()%>+
    Thanks in advance for your help.
    Regards

    Hi Michael,
    Thanks a lot for your answer! It could be a workaround.
    However sometimes we have a lot of different sources that doesn't need a different dblink for each context and only one source that has 3 different dblinks (one for each context). If I could avoid to create a lot of useless variable, it would be nice.
    Does someone know if it is possible to put the value of a variable as a KM option ?

  • Pass bind value to a variable

    How possible is it to pass a bind value to a variable?
    <cfselect id="addo" name="addo"
    bind="cfc:asproxy.getRList()"display="ListName" value="ListID"
    BindOnLoad="true" />
    The above bind value in addo then passed to the below, making
    available to the whole page as "valueaddo"
    <cfset valueaddo =#addo#>

    Thank you Bitaites.
    I tried to add a new action in the page definitions --> bindings --> insert inside binding create new action --> and then choose the data collection --> select an Action as "ExecuteWithParams" --> in the Value field I put the value e.g. 'APPROVER'.
    Is something I did wrong? Because it seems not work... =(
    Can you explain a little bit about how to do it?
    Thanks a lot!!

  • XMLAttribute unable to handle multiple values returning from a query

    Hi Guys,
    I have to design the format of the data returning from a query in XML. For this i have used xmlelement and xmlattribute
    the query goes like this
    SELECT '<?xml version="1.0" ?>'||' '||XMLELEMENT("imageData",
    XMLATTRIBUTES(LI.GROUPNO as "imageName", 'PNG'as "imageType", '2.0' as "version", 'com.snapon.sbs' as "xmlns"),
    XMLELEMENT("callouts",
    XMLATTRIBUTES('roundedRectangle' as "shape"),
    XMLELEMENT("callout",
    XMLATTRIBUTES((SELECT IO.PNC_KEYNO FROM PFEALIOCR IO WHERE IO.BASECATALOGNO = LI.BASECATALOGNO AND LI.GROUPNO = IO.GROUPNO) as "label"),
    XMLELEMENT("point",
    XMLATTRIBUTES((SELECT IO.COORDINATESX1 FROM PFEALIOCR IO WHERE IO.BASECATALOGNO = LI.BASECATALOGNO AND LI.GROUPNO = IO.GROUPNO) as "x",(SELECT IO.COORDINATESY1 FROM PFEALIOCR IO WHERE IO.BASECATALOGNO = LI.BASECATALOGNO AND LI.GROUPNO = IO.GROUPNO) as "y")))))
    FROM PFEALIGIL LI
    WHERE LI.DELETEFLAG <> 'D'
    here he logic is the one groupno from pfealigil and the corresponding pnc_keyno that are related to groupno are fetched here. but here since multiple pnc_keyno are returning xmlattributes is unable to handle. I want to design the xml in this format
    <?xml version="1.0" ?>
    <imageData imageName="ISDH0001104"
    imageType="PNG" version="2.0" xmlns="com.snapon.sbs">
    <callouts shape="roundedRectangle">

    </callout>
    <callout label="247"<point x="430" y="83"/>
    </callout>
    <callout label="122"><point x="546" y="331"/>

    </callout>
    <callout label="248"><point x="392" y="463"/>
    </callout>
    <callout label="182"><point x="228" y="416"/>
    </callout>
    <callout label="1"><point x="364" y="737"/>
    </callout>
    <callout label="14"><point x="494" y="980"/>

    </callout>
    <callout label="15"><point x="779" y="848"/>
    </callout>
    <callout label="1"><point x="805" y="343"/>
    </callout>
    </callouts>
    </imageData>
    like here one image name all those pnc_keyno that are valid should come in this way as above. Please let me know if anything is unclear to you

  • Iterating over the Values returned from a HashMap

    Hi,
    I have a HashMap which stores some Strings as Keys and their corresponding Values are a Vector of Strings.
    for eg. one (Key, Value) pair is
    (String1, [StringA, StringB, StringC, ........])
    I understand that I can read the Vector Values by iterating over the HashMap using the ".entrySet()" and "Map.Entry" operations.
    My problem is I am not able to iterate through the Vector values returned by the ".getValue( )" method.
    can anyone please give some hints as to where I am commiting an error, or if I need to cast my values in some manner to iterate over them?
    thanks in advance

    can anyone please give some hints as to where I am commiting an errorSomewhere in your code. Post the smallest complete example which demonstrates the problem, then people may be able to give more specific help.
