Pass parameter value from oracle reports to HTML

Hi,
Can anybody tell me if i can pass oracle reports6i parameter value to HTML.
Any ideas/suggestions would be helpful
Thanks
KAvitha

Kavitha,
I didnt quite understand your question. Do you mean you want to use the report parameter form and pass the values entered there to an html form where you will display the output based on the parameters entered by the user ?
If so, No. Not to the best of my knowledge. You can pass parameters from an html form to reports though, if this is what you are looking for.

  • Multiple selection list and passing that value to oracle reports

    Hi
    I need to create a multiple selection list and then based on use selection, I need to pass that value to oracle reports. Can any one help with steps on how I can do this. Thanks

    Hi
    Concatenate the multiple values into a string separated by comma and then pass that string to report as a parameter.
    In report query, you have to use the lexical parameter using ' & '

  • How to pass the value from Sub report to main report

    I have un report(mainreport) within a subreport(subreport).
    With reporting services, how to pass the value from Sub report to main report?
    thanks

    Hi Alebet,
    With reporting services to pass values from sub report in to main report is not supported directly.
    But there are some workarounds through which you can get this .
    There are two ways to get this.
    1- Put your sub report query into some table. i mean to say through the subreport query get some temporary table.
    2- Using this temporary tables data write some Scala function in the data base.
    3- Now in your main report query return this scala function as a column.
    4- Extract the column value where ever you want in your main report which is getting calculated from the subreport query. so you will be getting the values returned from the subreport in the main report.
    This will definitely work fine as i have done some report in this way.
    Another way of doing is that
    1- prepare another data set with the same query as in sub report in the data tab.
    2- then refer this 2nd dataset in your main report .
    But better way will be the top one.
    Anyway please let me know if you get the solution.
    Thanks

  • How to pass parameter values to a report befor schedule it?

    I tried to use Business Objects web service to schedule a report. But I failed to pass in any parameter values. The report was able to run successfully. Can you clarify your scenario? Which is the case you're talking about?
    1) You want to pass a parameter from OmniPortlet to a PL/SQL procedure.
    2) You want to pass a parameter from a PL/SQL procedure to OmniPortlet.
    In both cases the most obvious way of doing it is through request (URL) parameters.
    Render a link in your portlet (either in OmniPortlet or using PL/SQL) that invokes a portal page, containing the other portlet.
    Both OmniPortlet and PL/SQL allow you to wire and access page parameters.
    Take a look at the Using Parameter and Events section of the Portal User's Guide and the Parameters and Events section of the Portal Developer's Guide.
    Hope this helps,

  • Unable to pass the values from one report to another using navigation links

    Hi All,
    I am facing a strange issue where I have to pass a column value from one report to other.
    I have kept navigation link in the 1st report and 'is prompted' option in the 2nd report
    Issue was , I'm not getting the filtered result in the 2nd report (all the records are being displayed)
    Can anyone advice where I was going wrong
    Thank you,
    AO

    Hi,
    The column which you have given navigation link and 'is prompted' column should same and exist in both the reports.You have to give the guided navigation in the value interaction of the column in the report1.
    mark if helpful/correct.........

    can i do this one...
    how can get the value.
    i know main report to sub report
    i tried that way but
    value is  0.00 is comming
    Any reasons.

    Hi Try this.
    Create a formula like this in subreport1 (from the report where you want to pass your value)
    Whileprintingrecrods;
    Shared Numbervar x :={subreport1Value};
    Then go to 2nd sub report and Create a formula like this
    Whileprintingrecrods;
    Shared Numbervar x ;
    Note :Your sub report1 should execute before sub report2 .That means sub report1 should be in the above section of sub report2

  • How can i pass parameter values from html to a shell script

    Hi Guys...
    I had a requirement where i need to execute a sql statement and print the output in HTML page. This report has parameters to enter. So i created a HTML form which accepts parameters. When the submit button is pressed, the action tag in the form invokes unix shell script file. It will open sqlplus and run the sql script file .sql and print the output in the HTML page.
    sql script contains the query and some set options which prints the output in HTML page. Like "SET MARKUP HTML ON"... The query has some parameters like "select * from emp where empno = &&empnumber. I will use the same name "empnumber" while created the HTML parameter form like " <input type = "text" name="empnumber" size="10" align="left">.
    user sees this parameter form and enters some value in to that empno text box.
    My question is how can i catch these parameter values in a shell script and pass it to the sql script to execute it.
    Help Appreciated
    Thanx

    This is a A Bad Idea (tm). This type of CGI processing is old and were (and still is) full of security holes. Very easy to inject stuff (Unix commands and SQL) into it.. To get those parameters into SQL*Plus requires using Unix shell commands to process it - and something like a backquote allows all kinds of nasty stuff to be injected. The Unix shell was never designed to be used as a secure CGI environment.
    There are far better and far superior alternatives. Perl (with Perl_DBI) and PHP (using Zend Core for Oracle) come to mind as web scripting languages.
    Even easier is using HTMLDB. Very few moving parts. Is free. Supports Oracle 9.2 and 10G.

  • How to pass a value from the report to a form ( BIT OF URGENT ).

    Hi,
    I had created a "Form on a Table with Report" on the report I had remove the edit link and set one of the column feilds that functionality. Now I want to know how to pass that value that is clicked ( having hyper link ) on to the form where it runs a SQL query and then displays the reuslts on the form.
    Illustrating with an example.
    I am having these following columns on the report ( these are the results for the join statement )
    JOBNUM JOBNAME DEPTNUMBER SAL EMPNO LNAME FNAME
    In the above JOBNUM is having Hyper link as I removed the edit image.
    Now this is area I am having problem. When the user clicked on the JOBNUM then on form it should display 20 other columns( pulled from 5 other tables ) which are related to that particualr JOBNUM.
    Anybody give me a solution in which area I have to include my SQL statement and how to pass that selected value to that SQL statement.
    Cheers,
    Krishna

    Hi Ron,
    I am doing exaclty what you have suggested me but no luck. I started changing the DEMO_CUSTOMERS application to my requirements.The report is working fine and on the report I have created a page attribute to the Hyper linked column and linked that to the page 2 and assign that attribute with #JOBNUM#.
    I am able to pass that value on to form when I click on the JOBNUM. But the problem is I am not able to pass that value into the SQL query so that my query pulls 20+ columns on to the Form ( which is second page ).
    Small clarification... On the form region it is said FORM NAME and type is HTML is that is the way the APEX was designed or does it need to say region type as FORM.
    Thanks for your help in advance.
    Cheers,
    Krishna.

  • Passing parameter values to another report using URL actions (reportserver)

    Hi guys,
    I have two reports that I link with eachother. For report A - B everything works perfect. When I try to do the same for report B - A it works, but the parameter value is not filled in.
    =Iif(
    Parameters!PAR_LinksEnabled.Value,
    Globals!ReportServerUrl & "?" & Replace(Globals!ReportServerUrl, "_vti_bin/ReportServer", "")
    & "Reporting/POS Reporting/Reports/POS Report.rdl&POS_ID=" & Parameters!CONNECTION_ID.Value & "&POS_LANG=" & Parameters!POS_LANG.Value & "&PAR_Date=%5BDate invoice%5D.%5BBonus Calendar - Week%5D.%5BBonus
    week of year%5D.%26%5B" & Left(Parameters!YEAR_WEEK.Label, 4) + "%5D%26%5B" & CInt(Right(Parameters!YEAR_WEEK.Label, 2)) & "%5D",
    Nothing
    Even tho I specify the parameter he has to pass through, the report opens with parameter period : <select a value>. Anyone has an idea why such behaviour happens?
    Thanks!

    Hi Yvanlathem,
    Per my understanding that you want to use the expression above to conditional add the hyperlink to pass the value to the parameter of anpother rreport via the URL in the SharePoint integrated mode report server, right?
    I have check the expression you have provided and the issue can be caused by the wrong way you have write the expression to pass the parameter, please check detais information below to make sure you have pass parameter in the URL correctly:
    Please modify the expression to below structure :
     =Iif( Parameters!PAR_LinksEnabled.Value="Enabled", "URL",Nothing)
    I saw you have use expression like "&POS_ID=" & Parameters!CONNECTION_ID.Value & "" which is incorrect, we need to set a report parameter within a URL, use the following syntax:
     parameter=value(not Value=Parameter)
    If you are using the following syntax like "Parameter1=Parameter2", both parameters and from different report, if you have add the "Go to URL" action from  report2 to Report1, please make sure Parameter1 is from the Report1
    and Parameter2 is from Report2, change the order will not work
    More detail information:
    Pass a Report Parameter Within a URL
    So, In your scenario, please make sure the value is from one report's field (POS_ID) and the the parameter(CONNECTION_ID) is from another report (e.g:"&CONNECTION_ID=" &Fields!POS_ID.Value &"")

  • Passing parameter value from one script to another in job chain steps

    Hi all,
    We have a scenario where in we have a job chain with two steps
    1-Step 1 contains a script which fetches value from database to the script parameter(in/out) - PAR_DB_VALUE
    2-Step 2 contains another script which uses the value of the parameter PAR_DB_VALUE and has to assign to another parameter in the script 2 called PAR_FETCHED_VALUE(in)
    How to pass the value of PAR_DB_VALUE to PAR_FETCHED_VALUE which are parameters in two different steps
    Please help
    Thanks and Regards
    Raj

    Hi,
    You can achieve this as follows (CPS version 6 & 7):
    - Edit the chain
    - Go to the second step, to the parameters of the script call in that step
    - Go to the parameter (PAR_FETCHED_VALUE) that you want to be filled by the parameter of the first step
    - choose "Chain value" in the detail screen for the parameter, and select the desired out parameter from the drop down
    Note that both parameters need to be of the same type for this to work.
    Regards,
    Anton.

  • How to get Oracle Form Parameter Value into Oracle Report

    Hi,
    Please guide for the following:
    On a form, there is one Control Block (CB1), having two TEXT ITEMS, namely From_Date & To_Date respectively. The user inputs from and to dates, for example From_Date: 01-JAN-2009 and To_Date: 31-DEC-2009 and then press "Print Report" button.
    I want to get From_Date & To_Date in the report, as per below mentioned heading:
    SALES REPORT
    From: 01-JAN-2009 To: 31-DEC-2009
    Regards,

    You can use ADD_PARAMETER builtin,
    The following example creates a parameter List, adds two parameters to it, and then passes the List to a form by way of the CALL_FORM procedure:
    <pre>
    /** Declare a variable of type ParamList to store ** the parameter List ID */
    DECLARE
    PARAM_ID ParamList;
    BEGIN
    /* ** Create a parameter List named "input_params" */
    PARAM_ID := Create_Parameter_List('input_params');
    /* ** Add two parameters to the List to pass values for each user-defined parameters defined in the target form; for each parameter, specify its key, type (text or data), and value */
    Add_Parameter(PARAM_ID, 'FROM_DATE'', TEXT_PARAMETER, to_char(:CB1.From_Date, 'DD-MON-RRRR'));
    Add_Parameter(PARAM_ID, 'TO_DATE', TEXT_PARAMETER, to_char(:CB1.To_Date, 'DD-MON-RRRR'));
    /* ** Now call the report, referencing the parameter List ID ** in the last argument to the report calling procedure */
    END;
    </pre>

  • Unable to pass parameter value from a Task flow to a Portlet

    Hi All,
    I'm using Jdev 11.1.1.6.0 and created a simple ADF application with one Taskflow which contains one JSF page to display the User details from the default LDAP configured within the Integrated Weblogic Server. The Taskflow have one Parameter to accept the User Email Id as input. Based on the given input value, we will fetch the User details from Weblogic server and display in the JSF Page. I created a portlet out of Taskflow by "Create Portlet Entry" and deployed it onto Integrated Weblogic server.
    Portlet works well when executed standalone for the given User Email Id values as input.
    Then I created a webcenter Application, On a page, there is a task flow that contains a form with one input text field and one Submit button, and a portlet (that displays the User details from LDAP) that listens for user input from the form. Clicking the Submit button sends the user entered texts to the listening portlet. This is a combination of contextual events established by the producer (task flow) and the wiring of the portlet based parameters from within the consuming page definition file.
    The taskflow page which contains the form with Submit button, within the page defintion file contains an event binding (submitEventBinding) and a contextual based event (submitEvent). This event is tied to the ActionListener of the commandButton.
    After added both the task flow and the portlet onto a page, I have subscribed to the contextual event of the task flow, and completed the wiring of the Taskflow and Portlet events together.
    But in the Form, when I enter the User Email Id in the input filed and click the Submit button, I'm getting the below error -

  • Passing Parameter Value  from Global link

    Hi All,
    I have one common Page. It will be accessed from many other Pages. So I added a link in Global button bar to access my common PG. While I click the link , I like to pass url of the current Page. I like to get suggestion for this....
    Thanks

    Mukul,
    managing a session value is feasible, but not a suggested solution in this scenario as the common link is going to be accessed from multiple pages and it is a global link on all the pages. This will require making changes to all those pages.

  • Passing prompt value from one report to other using navigation

    I have one dashboard with one prompt (Prompt Name: Date) and a report with date column. This date in the prompt defaults to current date by using server variable ‘CURRENT_DATE’. When a user executes this dashboard the report will be executed for current date. Now I configured navigation on a column (MTD) that will take the user to another report. My Requirement is I have to filter the second report with a condition ‘Date<current date’. In the second report I applied a filter Date<valueof(CURRENT_DATE). To my surprise when I navigate from the first report to second report this filter condition Date<valueof(CURRENT_DATE) is replaced by Date=valueof(CURRENT_DATE). I did not under stand why navigating from the first report replacing the filter condition on the second report. If this is the expected functionality, what is the workaround for this?
    To summarise my user want to see current date data in the first report and all the data less than current date in the second report. I tried with presentation variables. same thing happening with them as well.
    Please let me know if there is any solution for this
    Venkat

    I mean to say,
    fro second report apply filter not as global filters
    To apply as inner fitlers...
    Go to measures fx in answers
    select the code in fx and click on filters options
    and select the date from left pane (selection pane)
    and write CURRENT_DATE by Converting this filter to SQL (the option is something like this)
    see in this way ..
    i didn't get time to work on your issue...
    So please try this and report back..
    Thanks & Regards

  • Values returned from oracle reports

    hello,
    i want to write a program which comunicates with
    oracle report builder. passing arguments to oracle
    reports is no problem but is it possible to get
    return values from oracle reports so that i can
    proceed with them in my java application.
    thank you
    thorsten lorenz

    Hi Stewart,
    thank you for your answer. I think i'll try this
    approach. I will start the runtime-Version of Oracle Reports
    from java with parameters. exec(param 1,param 2). The only
    thing returned is an integer indicating if this call
    to reports was successfull. but with your idea i think
    i got a nice workaround.
    Greetings
