Pass space in parameter (mod_plsql)

Hello,
I have written a mod_plsql stored procedure. This takes is a parameter.
example site/store_procedure?parameter=Name
works ok
however if the name has space it doesnot work
example
site/store_procedure?parameter=First Last
Also in the real case I cannot identify each parameter to pass it separately.
Please help. I need to pass space in the parameter.
Thanks
Al.

Thanks. It works. However the difficult job is to come up with chars that will not be used.
Thanks for your help

  • How to pass a date parameter from report builder query designer to oracle database

    i'm using report builder 3.0 connected to oracle database. i'm trying to pass a date parameter in the query with no success, i don't
    know the exact syntax. I've tried :
    SELECT * FROM igeneral.GCL_CLAIMS where CREATED_BY IN (:CREATED_BY) AND CLAIM_YEAR IN(:UW_YEAR) AND (LOSS_DATE) >To_Date('01/01/2014','mm/dd/yyyy')
    it worked perfectly.
    However if i try to put a date parameter "From" instead of 01/01/2014 it will not work, a Define Query Parameter popup window appear and error occurred after i fill
    the values (usually i shouldnt get this popup i should enter the value when i run the report)
    SELECT * FROM igeneral.GCL_CLAIMS where CREATED_BY IN (:CREATED_BY) AND CLAIM_YEAR IN(:UW_YEAR) AND (LOSS_DATE) >To_Date(:From,'mm/dd/yyyy')
    appreciate your assistance

    Hi Gorgo,
    According to your description, you have problem when in passing a parameter for running a Oracle Query. Right?
    Based on my knowledge, it use "&" as synax for parameter in Oracle, like we use "@" in SQL Server. In this scenario, maybe you can try '01/01/2014' when inputing in "From". We are not sure if there's any limitation for To_Date()
    function. For your self-testing, you can try the query in sqlplus/sql delveloper. Since your issue is related to Oracle query, we suggest you post this thread onto Oracle forum.

  • Pass multi value parameter to sub report in Drill through report, ssrs

    I have two reports 1 is subreport and other is main report. Date Field are placed in both reports. i have groups in main report,
    one group is task. In the task fields one persons is working in 3 project, two project are same company and 1 is for other and it give me count for each project. I
    want when i click on link it send multivalue parameter to subreport and it just show matching records.
    Asif Mehmood

    As I understand what you need is to use LookupSet function.
    Suppose if your dataset is like this (for simplicity I'm showing only required fields)
    PersonID Project Company
    ID1 P1 C1
    ID1 P2 C1
    ID1 P3 C2
    ID1 P4 C2
    ID1 P5 C3
    If you want to get the full project list for the person just send the PersonID alone and filter using it in the subreport. You can keep the project/company parameters optional in that case and put a default value. This would be the easiest thing.
    Now if you want pass the project parameter also you need to pass it like this
    =Join(LookupSet(Fields!Person.Value,Fields!Person.Value,Fields!Project.Value,"DatasetName"),",")
     This would act like a self lookup and return you full list of projects for the person and then you can use this to set the parameter value in the subreport.

  • Passing multi value parameter to the Drill through report

    Hi
    I have two reports say Report A and Report B.
    Both reports using same parameters.
    I am Navigating from Report A to Report B using Jump to Report option.
    Now when I pass multiple parameter to the Report B it only displays first parameter results.
    In report B I have parameter multi value select to true.
    I would like to know if its possible or not to pass multi value parameter in drill through report?
    I would appreciate if someone can help me here.
    Regards
    Amit

    Yes you can pass multi value parameters to a drill through report.
    It works similar to multi value parameters for subreports, which is discussed in detail in this thread: http://forums.microsoft.com/MSDN/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=163803&SiteID=1

  • Passing multi-value parameter from BIEE dashboard to BIP report

    It is possibile passing multi-value parameter from BIEE dashboard prompt to BI Publisher integrated report? (BIP report has a DB data source (not a answers))
    Thank you
    R.

    Hi Rajkm,
    In order to pass a multi-value parameter through the Reporting Services Web services, you need to define the same numbers of ParameterValue objects as the number of the values of the multi-value parameter being past into the report. The Name property
    of these ParameterValue objects must be specified same to the parameter name.
    I found a good FAQ article for this scenario:
    How do I pass a multi-value parameter into a report with Reporting Services Web service API?:

  • OpenDocument.aspx - pass multi value parameter when report type is actx

    We are running Crystal Reports XI R2 against a business objects infoview server.
    We have been successfully using the OpenDocuments method for opening crystal reports but have run into a snag.  When using a multi-value parameter, we can only get it to work when the viewer is set to HTML.  Setting to ActiveX prompts us to enter in the parameter values manually.
    This address works (using sViewer=HTML):
    http://vsx2af0x/businessobjects/enterprise115/infoview/scripts/opendocument.aspx?sType=rpt&sViewer=html&lsMpSiteIDs=[1235880],[1235891],[1235902],[1235913]&sPath=[Development][CGIS][Intranet Mapping][COS_Base]&sDocName=DetailedSite&sRefresh=Y
    This address does not work (using sVIewer=actx):

  • Problem when using WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT and passing in lexical parameter

    Hi,
    I got a blank page with error "An error has occured while trying to use this document" when I tried to use web.show_document and passing a lexical parameter to 10g report on 10gAS. The URL in the web.show_document is:
    http://<srvname>:<portnum>/reports/rwservlet?server=repserver90&report=myrpt.rdf&destype=Cache&desformat=pdf&userid=<usr>/<pw>@<db>&where_clause=where%20product_type%20in%20('REPORT')
    If I change the desformat to htmlcss, it is fine to display the report. But doesn't work with desformat=pdf. The pdf file has been generated in the cache. Why can't it display on the screen.
    Also I tried to use double quote the value for where_clause. The pdf report showed up. But it ignored the where clause.
    Experts please help.
    Ying

    I use lexical parameters and they work fine, but I use a parameter list. The code is contained in a form that is called by all forms that wish to run a report. This way you only need the logic for printing in a single form. If you want the form, email me at [email protected]

  • Pass a date parameter to Stored Procedure

    Hello friends,
    Can you help to pass a date parameter to Stored procedure from JSP. This is my code:
    In Oracle 9i I have this:
    PROCEDURE SP_EDORES(
    pfechaini IN hist_pol_reclama.hrc_fecha_contabilidad%Type, <-- This is a date field
    pfechafin IN hist_pol_reclama.hrc_fecha_contabilidad%Type, <-- This is a date field
    p_recordset OUT PKG_REP_CIERRE.cursor_type) AS
    In JSP have this:
    CallableStatement stmt = (CallableStatement)conn.prepareCall( "begin PKG_REP_CIERRE.SP_EDORES(?,?,?); end;" );
    stmt.registerOutParameter(3,oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleTypes.CURSOR);
    stmt.setDate(1,Date.valueOf("01-06-2005"));
    stmt.setDate(2,Date.valueOf("30-06-2005"));
    ResultSet rset = (ResultSet)stmt.getObject(3);
    while (rset.next()) {
    %>
    <TR>
    <TD ALIGN=CENTER> <%= rset.getString(1) %> </TD>
    <TD ALIGN=CENTER> <%= rset.getString(2) %> </TD>
    <TD ALIGN=CENTER> <%= rset.getString(3) %> </TD>
    <TD ALIGN=CENTER> <%= rset.getInt(4) %> </TD>
    </TR>
    <%
    The Stored Procedure returns de Result set, however I think does not recognized the date format because I need it with this format dd-mm-yyyy.
    Thanks in advance

    to use Date you will need the oracle package.
    u can try this other solution: use String, not Date
    CallableStatement stmt = (CallableStatement)conn.prepareCall( "begin PKG_REP_CIERRE.SP_EDORES(?,?,?); end;" );
    stmt.registerOutParameter(3,oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleTypes.CURSOR);
    stmt.setString(1,"01-06-2005");
    stmt.setString(2,"30-06-2005");
    ResultSet rset = (ResultSet)stmt.getObject(3);
    while (rset.next()) {
    %>
    if this don't work you can change your PL/SQL to get Strings and do the conversion with TO_DATE in the sql statement.

  • How to pass in a parameter into a report viewer on a jsp - and hidden

    Hi, I've built a php application and am using the java environment to enable the crystal report/viewer.  The developer was looking how to pass in a parameter into a report viewer on a jsp. Ultimately the end product we need is to get an HTML report viewer loading a report file with hidden parameters so to not expose other customer data (it's a shared database for multiple customers) preferably loaded from php using maybe the php java bridge. Would anyone happen to have any sample code or any guidance?
    <%@ page contentType="text/html; charset=UTF-8"
       pageEncoding="ISO-8859-1"%>
    <%@ taglib uri="/crystal-tags-reportviewer.tld" prefix="crviewer"%>
    <%
    // just a test to grab rpt name from GET
    String rptFile = "report_files/" + request.getParameter("rpt");
    %>
    <crviewer:viewer reportSourceType="reportingComponent" viewerName=""
    isOwnPage="true">
       <crviewer:report reportName="<%= rptFile %>" />
    </crviewer:viewer>
    Many thanks in advance!
    Mark

    I am not aware of any html tags you can pass to the viewer for parameter values.  Normally, you would load the report in code and then use the SDK with the report object to pass parameter values.

  • How do I pass a default parameter to a CR XI report in VB6?

    Hi,
    How do I pass a default parameter to a CR XI report in VB6?
    For example I have a parameter list of years from 2000 to 2020 and I want to pass on the result of str(Year(Now)) so that the user automatically sees the current calendar year as his/her default option - but can choose another year from the drop down list - if wished.
    "AddDefaultValue" seems to have no effect at all (probably because the current year already exists in the parameter list)
    "AddCurrentValue" removes the parameter altogether and the report defaults to the current year.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks in advance!
    Peter Tyler

    Hi Mark, thanks for your quick response.
    >>You might find it easier to do the dropdowns and calendar selections on the VB6 side and just pass the record selection to the report >>
    This is what I am doing but I cannot get the current year to appear as the default in the drop down parameter list also it appears I cannot clear the existing report parameter fields.
    This is my code:
    'clear the existing parameter list of the Year parameter
    MsgBox CrRep.ParameterFields.GetItemByName("Year").NumberOfDefaultValues
    This gives me the total number of existing parameters in the CRXI report
    CrRep.ParameterFields.GetItemByName("Year").ClearCurrentValueAndRange
    MsgBox CrRep.ParameterFields.GetItemByName("Year").NumberOfDefaultValues
    This gives me the new number of existing parameters in the CRXI report which is exactly the same as before so .ClearCurrentValueAndRange seems to have no effect
    'now add the new default parameter to the list
    CrRep.ParameterFields.GetItemByName("Year").AddDefaultValue (Str(Year(Now)))
    CrRep.ParameterFields.GetItemByName("Year").AddDefaultValue (varUnderline)
    'now generate and add the required parameter fields
    Dim varParameterYear As String
    varParameterYear = "2003"
    Do While Not varParameterYear = "2031"
    CrRep.ParameterFields.GetItemByName("Year").AddDefaultValue (varParameterYear)
    varParameterYear = varParameterYear + 1
    Loop
    The result of the above as that the intially declared parameter (Str(Year(Now)))
    - which is "2009" - now appears at the top of the generated parameter list but is not the default parameter and the user still has to drop down the list box to choose the year.
    Any advice on both these issues would really help !

  • PLS-00201 error when trying to pass an OUT parameter

    Hi,
    Please help me to resolve the below error:
    I am trying to pass an OUT parameter in a package.
    I have declared it in package specs as
    ProcABC(p_val IN varchar2, p_val2 IN varchar2, p_val3 OUT varchar2)
    In package body
    I have created the procedure as
    Create or Replace procedure ProcABC(p_val IN varchar2, p_val2 IN varchar2, p_val3 OUT varchar2) AS
    v_LogDir varchar2(40);
    v_message varchar2(200);
    BEGIN
    SELECT directory_path into v_LogDir FROM ALL_DIRECTORIES WHERE directory_name = 'ABC';
    v_message := v_LogDir ;
    some sql statements..
    p_val3 := v_message;
    Return p_val3;
    End procABC;
    SQL> exec pkg_A.procABC('Stage2', NULL, p_val3);
    Package compiles successfully but while execution it returns error as:
    ORA-06550: line 1, column 74:
    PLS-00201: identifier 'p_val3 ' must be declared
    ORA-06550: line 1, column 7:
    PL/SQL: Statement ignored
    Please advise.

    Hi Suresh,
    Thanks for the information and help. I was able to run the package with this usage.
    Now, the issue is
    I need to return a v long string by the OUT parameter so I defined the datatype of OUT parameter as CLOB.
    But, when I declare local variable to run the package with this OUT paramater I get the error :
    ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: character string buffer too small
    ORA-06512: at line 1
    When I pass a shorter string it works.
    Kindly advise me how to resolve this issue while using CLOB as datatype of OUT parameter.

    From what I read I should create a subclass, but there is not much material on the subject.
    I would later on want to use this skin in many Panel controls I have in my application.
    Thanks for the help.

  • Problem passing a XML parameter

    Mrs,
    I need to pass a XML parameter from an OAF page to an external page. Below there is a piece of code where I did it at first (through parameters - GET). The problem: the XML has a variable length, so it can be bigger than GET limits.
    How could I pass it via POST? Put it on an OAFormValueBean doesn't seems to be a good answer, since XML tags ("<" and ">") and accents (we use Portuguese - BR) get processed in &xxx; notation. Therefore, as you can see, the page it's only used to mount XML and call another page.
    Dev Guide has a chapter "Posting to an OA Framework Page from a Different Technology". I think I need something like "POSTING FROM AN OA FRAMEWORK PAGE TO A DIFFERENT TECHNOLOGY".
    Any ideas?
    Tks.
    Elner Ribeiro
    CODE:
    processRequest()
    String xmlData = "<ReservaMultiGDSRoot>" + xmlPassag + xmlContato + "</ReservaMultiGDSRoot>";
    HashMap par = new HashMap();
    par.put("XmlData",xmlData);
    par.put("UrlPostBack","https://oafHost/OA_HTML/OA.jsp?page=/oracle/apps/xx/xx/webui/xxPG");
    pageContext.forwardImmediately("http://externalUrl/page.aspx",
    OAWebBeanConstants.REMOVE_MENU_CONTEXT,
    par,
    false,
    OAWebBeanConstants.ADD_BREAD_CRUMB_NO);
    }

    forwardImmediately would just forward the request to the indicated resource.
    "POSTING FROM AN OA FRAMEWORK PAGE TO A DIFFERENT TECHNOLOGY".
    doing this means you are leaving the apps context and going to a different location, which is out of apps security.As a workaround what you can do is:
    1. Create a jsp in $OA_HTML
    2. From your OA page, navigate to this jsp, as a normal url link destination
    3. in the jsp, use ServletSessionManager.getURL ("<url>") and then post the data to the page you want to visit.
    4. Remember to define a function in the same menu to navigate to the jsp.
    Thanks

  • Passing database command parameter to sub-report

    I'm trying to pass a runtime parameter from a main report to a database command parameter in a sub-report, and having some trouble.
    My main report has parameter fields (Vendor, Manufacturer, etc) that the user selects at runtime - the result set includes Item Code - that part is working fine.  Where I'm having trouble is with linking to the sub-report.  My sub-report has a stored command that takes a parameter (ItemCode) and counts the number of times it's shown up on an invoice.  When I created the command, it asked for a value for the parameter, and won't accept a blank entry.  Now, whenever I try to run the main report, it asks for the ItemCode parameter for the sub-report - which kind of defeats the purpose.  I've tried linking from ?Pm-OITM.ItemCode in the main report, but the Subreport Links window doesn't show the Command parameter to link to.
    How do I take a field from the main report and pass it to a sub-report to be used as a parameter in a stored database command?
    I'm running CR 2008, and SAP B1 2007 PL 42 on MS SQL 2005, and I'm still pretty new at CR, so details help.
    Thanks.

    Go to change subreport links and add Item Code from main report and then you can see the sureport stored procedure parameter in the Subreport parameters list, select the parameter and do not select any field from subreport.
    You will be able to see the stored procedure parameter in the list only when the Item Code and the parameter are of same data type.

    Raghavendra
