Pass the preview chinese to PDF

Dear Seniors,
I have a case where that is pass preview to PDF, now for example Iam in the client xxx and have a form name A and B, with chinese text. problem is.. in form name A can successfully pass the preview to PDF with chinese text but form B cannot pass to PDF successfully and show up with ###.
but both of this form can successfully printing out to hardcopy. I have already used the printer device PDFPRINTER from SAP. but no used. have anything setting inside form or coding can I do ? thank you

I am trying to print in simplified Chinese with SMARTFORM. I pass the corect language in the control parameter '1'. When I preview I can see good translations in EN or ZH BUT I can not print.
We are on release 6 and I understand cascading fonts not real option until release 6.2. The CONVERT_OTF_TO_PDF will not translate the Chinese character to PDF. We are using Unicode.
I really would prefer having a solution NOT tied to a particular printer make and model as this is limiting. I do not want to re write in ADS.
I am sure somebody is doing this but can not get a complete answer as to how this would be done. Any help is appreciated.

HI,
Use program RSTXPDFT4 to convert your spool to PDF.
on the printer preference dialogue box,check create new spool check box.
click on print.
Goto SPO2 note your spool ID.
Provide that spool ID on the selection screen of the program.
you will be asked for the target file location.
Execute it.Spool will be converted into PDF.

How can i make the report previewer show a PDF file instead of HTML?

Hi there,
i made a report which can be called within a form by a button. This report is a PDF-report.
I also have an option in the application to start the report from the menu. Then i get the Launch Report Form by Headstart. Here i can fill in for Desformat (in the options) PDF and Output to PREVIEW. Still it generates me a HTML report in my browser. How can i make it work so that the PREVIEWER will show me a PDF-report instead of the HTML?

You can not use PREVIEW as output type in webbased forms/reports. Try using as output type CACHE or FILE.

Can you open the Preview program without loading a file, like by itself?
If it doesn't load then I suspect a corrupt Preview preference file.
Deleting the System Preference or other .plist file
Can you open other files with Preview, like jpg's and images?
How about other PDFs? or is it just that one you have downloaded?

In the finder right click on the iPhoto library and show package contents, find the folder named import (or importing) and drag it to the desk top. Do NOT make any other changes of any sort. Launch iPhoto and you will Be fine. Open the import(ing) folder and if there are any photos in it you need import them to iPhoto then trash the imoort(ing) folder.

After updating to the latest Reader XI - pdf preview no longer show up in the explorer preview pane

After finally allowing Adobe to update my reader - I no longer can see pdf files in the preview pane. I can see previews if I have medium or large icons turned on - but a large version in the preview pane. And never if small icons or details are used. I could see these files fine before the update. If I right click in the preview pane - I have the option to open the pdf, etc. It's like it is there but I cannot see it. If I close the acrord in the task manager, the next pdf file I click on will have a preview. However, after that, no preview showing for any others. The only way a preview is in the preview pane is if the application is killed in task manager between every attempt.
Why is this happening?

Could you please let me know what version of OS are you using.
Open Acrobat and go to "Edit > Preferences > Page Display" and check whether 'Show large images' option is checked.
Is this issue specific for one PDF?
If possible, please share the file with me via email so that I can also check at my end.

How to I stop the Preview Pane in Windows 7 retaining control when I open a PDF document using Adobe Acrobat (Reader is NOT installed)

I have the preview pane active when selecting PDF Documents. When I open a PDF document I am unable to save any changes. the error message I receive:
"The documents could not be saved. The file ma be read-only,or another user may have it open. Please save the document with a different name of in a different folder"
The document is not read only and no other user has it open. If I turn the preview pane OFF there is no problem saving changes. I have also un-installed Adobe Reader.
Other programs (such as Excel, Word) do not experience the same problems as the PDF documents.
Does anyone have a solution?

It sounds like you just need to associate the PDF filename extension with Acrobat, rather than Preview. Please see this document from the Microsoft Help for instructions on choosing the default program for opening a particular file type (in your case, PDF): Change which programs Windows uses by default - Windows Help

Why can't I get the Preview application to open PDF files?

Since the end of April 2014, I have had problems with the Preview application. When I try to open Preview, I get the following message: "This application 'Preview.app can't be opened." "-1712.". I tried a recommended solution that I found in the Apple Support Communities, which said I could go to Finder > press the Option key to show Library and then go Preferences and then search for the Preview plist file and delete it.
Unfortunately, that did not work.
Two other Apple owners had the same problem and said the above procedure had worked for them, but post were back in the year 2012. When I followed the above procedures, it did not make any change in the problem with Preview. I still cannot open it. Does any one out there have an suggestions?
It is possible that any recent updates for MacBook Pro from Apple caused the problem? Will I forever have to resort to using Adobe's PDF program?

-1712 is a timed out error. One reported cause (with other applications) is that the application is attempting to open a large number of files, or a file that no longer exists.
Try holding down the shift key when launching preview. This prevents the application from attempting to open windows that were not closed before quitting the application.

Preview cannot do this - it is not a PDF editing utility. If you have the original document in an editable format (eg a Pages, or Word document) then you can edit it, print it, and from the print dialogue, save as a PDF. Otherwise you'll need the full Adobe product or similar to acheive what you want.

HT2506 how do you set Preview as the default for opening pdf in browser?

How do I set the Preview application to be the default for viewing PDF's in while in Safari? Previously, while in Safari and clicking on links to PDF's, they would display with buttons on the bottom that made it simple to view and download the PDF. Since updating Adobe Reader it seems Reader is now the default application for viewing PDF's accessed from the internet. I haven't been able to figure out how to revert back to Preview.....

I did this and now Safari won't open the form at all.
I put the files back and it opens in Adobe.
When I save the files to desktop they open in Preview. But I am trying to read pdf's(? forms) while in Safari.
Adobe does not work smoothly in Safari and scrolling to read is a nightmare.

When downloading a pdf and using the print command, it shows the correct document in the preview but only prints blank pages. If I use the save command and try to open with Acrobat 11.0.07, it says it wasn't correctly decoded and can't open it. If I do the same thing on my old Macbook (10.6.8) all works fine from the same website with the same document. Any ideas?

Browsers like Safari and Firefox have a contextual menu to allow you to copy a link to the clipboard. Point at a link. Right (contol) click the link to bring up the contextual menu and select the "Copy Link" (or similarly worded - "Copy Link Location" in Firefox, "Copy Link Address" in Chrome) . Then you can paste the link to wherever you want it.

Since the Reader upgrade to 11.0.06, PDF documents only print in a 4"x6" area. The preview shows 8.5" x 11".

When I try to print a PDF document in Adobe Reader, the print window shows the document in a 8.5" x 11" area. But the printed document is confined to a 4"x6" area.

Lexmark is passing the buck, since the printer is printing and copying, they feel it is not hardware and want to charge me to remotely troubleshoot... some crazy rate... actually, there is no way to see where the problem lies, the document feeder is scanning the whole paper, it is just not displaying in any app where I can tell if it is a scanner issue or a pdf/word displaying issue. If I set the default program for viewing PDF as Acrobat XI Pro the a PDF file will open with Acrobat XI Pro, but in Outlook I will get a white screen and the information bubble "This file cannot be previewed because there is no previewer installed for it" and in Windows Explorer I get a white screen in the preview pane.
