Pass thru authentication error message customization

Dear All,
I'm trying to customize the error messages displayed during the authentication failure.
Users are authenticated against the AD i.e. pass thru authentication.
I'm not able to customize the error messages.
I have searched in WPmessgaes and RAMessages file. no success.
following is error:
AD (Windows Active Directory):Error: missing required authentication information: 'password'
new error msg that I want to display:
Error: Invalid login credential, please try again.
Kindly share your ideas and experience on same.

We've had that problem. We opened a ticket with Sun and they confirm it as bug in 7.1.

Facebook Authentication Error Message 2/26/12

Is the Facebook app. for the Droid down today? I ask because my Droid hasnt been working properly lately and I have no idea if its just my phone or if the whole Facebook app for the Droid not working? Sorry for a silly question.

It started working a few hours after i posted this. the issues i have been having is that the the phone freezes and does force close. it will also automatically change the time to a completely random time zone. i get that authentication error message even on my email account that is synced to the droid.
overall i like my droid, it just seems very temperamental.

Are you still having the problem? Mine was working fine yesterday when you posted that question, as it is today. when you say "not working properly", can you be more specific?

Pass-Thru Authentication OIM 11g

Is there any documentation on configuring pass-thru authentication in OIM to an AD or LDAP instance?

Apparently, this does not exists for OIM. I need to put a OAM instance in front of OIM in order to authenticate against AD

Pass-thru authentication against AD

Hellos,
When using pass-thru authentication against the AD resource, the manual suggests that the user enters the complete DN of his/her AD account as the IDM login ID!!
Can it be arranged so that the user only needs to enter the samaccountname and not the complete DN.
I mean, samaccountnames are as unique as DNs. A simple lookup to get DN (if samaccountname is found) is all that is needed.
When shown to customers, they express horror when it is suggested that to login to IDM they have to type 50 odd characters!
Does any customer willingly USE pass-thru where they have to (correctly) type in such a lengthy string.

The answer is yes, you can use samaccountname. Your deployment may necessitate additional configuration to make this happen.
In our case, the samaccountname is the same as the IDM accountId. When the user logs in, IDM finds the user object and then uses the password against the AD account linked to the user.
If the accountId and samaccountname are not the same, then you could use a Login correlation rule to find the IDM user which has that samaccountname.
As far as anyone using the full DN to login with, I've never seen anyone do it. Our users certainly wouldn't stand for it, and I think that's the case most places.

hi,
we have a scenario where user's are authenticated at the proxy, then when they access a protected web dir they are authenticated again (the auth window pops up etc)..
given that both these authneticate from the same directory is it possible to pass thru the authentication so that the window does not pop up twice?

This as per the HTTP/1.1 RFC (RFC2616)
The Connection general-header field allows the sender to specify options that are desired for that particular connection and MUST NOT be communicated by proxies over further connections.
The Connection header has the following grammar:

I would like to pass the error message back to the fault section of a SOAP adapter.
Is there an easy way to do this using fault messages, or is there some other way to do this?

Authentication error message

I recently bought a BT 600 wifi extender, since then although signal has improved I am repeatedly getting an " authentication error" on my mobile phone and kindle fire and I have to keep reconnecting to the WiFi, sometimes several times a day. I have given up completely on using my Smart TV.
I thought esp as I have a BT Hub the two would work well together, but I can't be doing with have to reconnect all the time. Sometimes I don't notice my phone has disconnected so this month I've had to pay out for going over my data limits.
Can anyone please help?

Error message customization issues

This is with regards to the issue with customization error messages, I have already gone through the following,but haven't been able to achieve what i want:-

So im extremely dull or have been looking at the wrong place ( or both :( )
my jdev version :-10.1.3
My use case is follows, extremely simple form page for creating a user log in along with other information like passwords,description etc.
I have certain basic validations
-should contain one numeric
-must not be less than 8 charecters etc
i can do the following:-
make my own customized message bundle and successfully throw it when my custom method validator fails , i do so by using the command:-
throw new AdminJboException (AdminMsgBundle.USER_ID_NO_SPACE,params);
where AdminMsgBundle is my customized bundle message class and AdminJboException is a custom class that extends JBo exception ( for conveniance ).
What i can't do is this :-
my error logs:-
JBO-27024: Failed to validate a row with key null of type ........
User Id cannot contain spaces ( my validation message )
User ID - JBO-27025: Failed to validate attribute UserId with value .....
User ID - JBO-27014: Attribute UserId in AdminAppModule.UserViewObj is required
At validation ( i presume at validateEntity() ), my exception gets thrown ), but before that the JBO-27024 gets thrown (because the data doesnt get validated and hence not stored and hence null), following which the required error is thrown , following which the 27025 and 27014 are thrown. Is there anyway i can suppress the JBO default error messages ONLY when i know for sure that my validation error message has been thrown. I was able to suppress the JBO-27014 exception altogether from the EntityModelImpl ( out of frustration ) , and it worked , but obviously it hampered proper functioning in other areas.
My question is :--
Which is the simplest cleanest way of throwing only your customized message and ignoring the default JBO ones when your exception is thrown , and letting things go normally if your customized exception is not thrown... ?
P.S i can even override the "content" of the message being thrown from 27014 etc, but thats not what i want .

Odbc error message customization

Hi,
I need to customize the message that Answers shows when an ODBC error happens. I saw in OracleBI\web\msgdb\l_en\messages\odbcaccessmessages.xml the error kmsgOdbcAccessOdbcException:

I can change the message for all the Odbc errors, but is there a way to change it depending on the error that happens (for example, when error nQSError: 10058, it must give a different message)? (depending on the parameter). Where is this message called from? Where is the param set to a value?

I am getting the error message "The ODBC data source returned the following error; (internal error:data not found)" when I try to import photos.
I can view the photos (and tags) I have moved, but cannot add to that collection.
I have seen in these forums (below)solution is to Remove Windows XP service pack 2, and re-install it. BUT I think I can only remove Serice Pack 3 from my version of Windows.
Will the fix work by removing and re-installing SP3? Or is there a better fix? HELP!

Can't send email because of 'password authentication' error message.

I am having a problem sending email. I can receive emails but not send. The message I am getting is "The SMTP server "mail.grandecom.net" (my provider's server) doesn't support Password authentication. Please check you account settings..."
I have checked my account settings and tried all of the variables many, many times already. i have called my ISP and confirmed the settings with them. I have 4 different mail clients on my computer and they will all correctly receive and send using the same settings as those on the ipad yet still get them same error message.
I am using the iPad over wi-fi.
Any help would be appreciated.

I would delete the problem email account and re-enter the the account. It is easy to make an error in setting up the account but hard to find the error and that is why deleting and reentering it is often better,

My iphone 4 gsm stuck in recovery loop and I get error message when trying to recover thru itunes, error message 1602. help!!!!

I removed the battery in my att iphone 4 (gsm) osi 6.2? when i turned phone on i got pug into itunes screen. I did that and it said phone detected in recovery mode click update recover butten so i did. everything started liek t was working, i tunes showes verifing with apple but never make it past that point. itunes gives error message 1602. tried fixes, got error 22 tried fixes got error 11, tried fixesand got error message 1602. i then got advice from friend who wrks with iphones. told me get inrecovery, turn off. take out battery for min at least and put back together nad then try. i could not turn it on so plugged into wll charger and screen showed osi 6 and slide bar. slid bar and asked for my pw. put in and low and behold icon on screen telling me to plug into itunes. Did that and got error messge 1602 again and itunes neer went past verifing with apple.

This error is often related to USB timing. Try changing USB ports, using a different dock connector to USB cable, and other available USB troubleshooting steps (troubleshooting USB connections. If you are using a dock, bypass it and connect directly to the white Apple USB dock connector cable. If the issue persists on a known-good computer, the device may need service.
If the issue is not resolved by USB isolation troubleshooting, and another computer is not available, try these steps to resolve the issue:
Connect the device to iTunes, confirm that the device is in Recovery Mode. If it's not in Recovery Mode, put it into Recovery Mode.
Restore and wait for the error.
When prompted, click OK.
Close and reopen iTunes while the device remains connected.
The device should now be recognized in Recovery Mode again.
Try to restore again.
If the steps above do not resolve the issue, try restoring using a known-good USB cable, computer, and network connection.

OIM - pass thru authentication?? Possible?

Hi all,
While I am intending to use OIM 9.0.3 for provisioning/de-provisioning. I am thinking of some sort of pass through authentication to the existing AD, thus, my users do not have to remember another set of username/pw.
Is that at all possible? If not, what would be your approach? Having OID running behind (that is not in the plan right now)? Does even OID have pass through type capability like Sun Java DS?

If I understand your suggestion correctly, rather than passing the authentication responsibility to AD, it is indeed staying within OIM. The only difference is that pwd sync just saves the users from remembering two sets of username/pwd. Correct?

Controlling
Internal Orders
Budgeting and Availability Control
Define Tolerance Limits for Availability Control
Here you can see the Controlling Area and Profile information, you will also be able to see a column called 'Actn' in which you probably have a value of '1' or '2' which represents 'Warning' or 'Warning with MAIL to the person responsible' respectively, the third option here is '3' 'Error message', these are usually set depending on the Usage percentage that is defined.

i am using EVS. when i entered something in input box and clik on the next button then if the string does not match the enumeration then this error message is displayed.

Hi Bunny,
this is the generic validation error message given by the Data Dictionary Runtime. You cannot modify this error message with a custom error message unless you deactivate the generic validation with a non-validating action. But then you must implement the complete type validation on your own, only for displaying another validation error message. I do not recommend this approach. Why does the generic message not fulfill your requirements.
