Passcode bypass on my iphone or ipad

I have a iphone 3gs and a ipad 3g . Is it possible for  someone to bypass my passcodes.

Hi dorlock,
No, it is not possible, unless they completely reset your phone.

  • Passcode bypass for backing up failed iPad

My iPad screen has gone. I have an appointment at Genius Bar in a couple of days but I have been advised to back it up into my laptop using iTunes. I am getting a message saying that backup can't start until the iPad is unlocked with the passcode. Obviously I can't do this as the screen is not functioning. Is there a bypass to override the passcode?

Restoring as a new iPad will wipe the device. If you wipe the device, it wipes out all of your data. In that case, there would be no point in backing up the device since it would have none of your data intact on it to back up.

  • Every movie purchase through iTunes fails to transfer to my iPhone or iPad and the message I get is this: some of the items in the itunes library, including were not copied to the ipad because you are not authorized for them on this computer... help?

For a couple months now, every movie purchase through iTunes fails to transfer to my iPhone or iPad giving me the error: "some of the items in the iTunes library, including were not copied to the iPad because you are not authorized for them on this computer". I have read many forums about deleting, reinstalling, de-authorizing and authorizing my iMac through the iTunes store. Many suggestions don't work except to rename the movie to *.MP4 in Finder under the iTunes movie directory. I imagine this is a setting or a bug somewhere... any suggestions on how to bypass having to rename the files in Finder? My research into Google suggests this problem dates back to 2007 or so but it is now more prevalent than ever.
    Thanks.

  • HT4914 My wife and I both have iPhones and iPads. Can we both have access to the same iTunes Match library or do we have to have separate subscriptions?  Our devices are synced to the same computer and we currently download titles from the same library.

My wife and I both have iPhones and iPads. Can we both have access to the same iTunes Match library or do we have to have separate subscriptions?  Our devices are synced to the same computer and we currently download titles from the same library.  We both use separate apple id's on our devices.

You need to reconfigure your phone for use with your Apple ID. I suggest you restore yours as new then reconfigure it with your information and Apple ID. Be sure to disable Find My Phone, if it's enabled, before proceeding.

You will need to restore your device as New to remove a Restrictions passcode. Go through the normal process to restore your device, but when you see the options to restore as New or from a backup, be sure to choose New.
You can restore from a backup if you have one from BEFORE you set the restrictions passcode.

If you do not want to use passcodes, why don't you just go to Settings > General > Passcode Lock and delete the passcode and set the lock to OFF.  That will eliminate the problems all together.

  • How does one prevent unathorized iPhone or iPad data sync

It has come to my attention that syncing an iPad or iPhone is relatively easy. So, here is my question, let's say my iPhone or iPad was stolen or maybe "barrowed" by someone and that person decides to sync the data from the iPhone or iPad to there Mac or PC laptops? Now all my information, such as contacts, notes, etc, contained in the iPhone or iPad is synced and transfered to the other persons computer. Even if my device was not stolen, if a person wanted to sync my important data form my iPhone or IPad is possible thus my data would be stolen. This type of data breech could happen at work, home, conventions, hotel rooms, etc... Yes, I know you can do remote wipe-out of data, assuming that you have noticed the thief or your device being "barrowed". So, is there a lock-out to prevent unathorized syncing of data from iPhone or iPad device? I was hoping for a setting that required an access code prior to syncing data, but no such setting exist. Before answering this question please read carefully what I am asking. Thanks.

A passcoded iPhone running iOS4 will not sync with a new computer until the passcode is entered into the phone. You do not need the erase function to be activated for the data to be protected.
I am looking for a way to prevent other accounts on the same mac from being able to sync with my iphone. It seems once you have authorized the iphone on a mac it allows all accounts to access the iphone through iTunes and iPhone Explorer.
Does anyone know how to remove the iPhone/Mac syncing permission once it has been granted?

  • Lock screen will not accept password on iPhone and iPad.

I have an iPhone 4S and an iPad Mini that I use with corporate eMail which has enforced use of the lock screen with a secure password. Occasionally (it feels like at once every day)  when I go to unlock my iphone or ipad after the timeout has brought the lock screen up it will not let me enter the password.
The soft keyboard appears and the keys appear response to my touch however no letters appear in the password box. I have to power off and restart before entering the password.
It's driving me nuts, always happens when I'm in a rush. Any thoughts on what I can do to prevent it?

    Hello kennyred,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
For more information on this, take a look at:
iOS: Forgotten passcode or device disabled after entering wrong passcode
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1212
Connect the device to the computer with which you normally sync and open iTunes.
Note: If iTunes asks you to enter the passcode, try another computer that you have synced with. Otherwise, go to "If you have never synced your device with iTunes, or you do not have access to a computer" section below.
If the device is still disabled, or if iTunes does not automatically sync your device, sync the device with iTunes.
If you have chosen to encrypt your backup, it will contain the passcode. Disable backup encryption before restoring from backup. Learn more about iOS backups in iTunes.
When the backup and sync is complete, select Restore from Backup and choose the most recent backup of your device.
    Best of luck,
    Mario

How do i retrieve a passcode that i set for my ipad?

You can't. If you don't remember it then you have to reset the iPad. This will erase everything on the device before restoring iOS. If you synced recently with iTunes, then you can restore from the most recent backup.

That is why I said to restore via iTunes, did you check the link?
This will put it back to factory settings and you can set it up with the new ID once you reconnect with your HDTV. This is not done via ethernet, as per the link you need to connect to the computer via micro usb. You cannot bypass home sharing.
FYI: An Apple ID cannot be deleted so the old one would still exist (even if you no longer use the email account it is associated with).

  • How well is my mail protected on iPhone or iPad?

Hello! Can u tell me how well is my mail protected on iPhone or iPad?
Seems that 4-digit number is simply not enogh to get a goot protetcion of the device (and mail in it)

You can turn off "simple passcode" under Settings - Passcode, and then you can set whatever (alphanumeric) passcode you like, if you want it to be more complex than 4 numbers.
And don't forget that with email, there's also a potential vulnerability in your email password itself. If that is simple/obvious, someone could hack your email from another vector - through webmail, for example - without having any access to your phone.

Have tried resetting from backup but that doesn't eliminate the restriction passcode issue.  Now am trying to reset the phone as a new phone.  However, it's still prompting for the restriction passcode.  Any idea how to get around this?  I did use the iPhone Backup Extractor but that was a bit baffling.

If none of the above work, then:
Placing your device into recovery (DFU) mode:
Follow these steps to place your iOS device into recovery mode. If your iOS device is already in recovery mode, you can proceed immediately to step 6.
       1. Disconnect the USB cable from the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, but leave the
other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
       2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds
until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
                  * If you cannot turn off the device using the slider, press and hold the
Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the device turns off,
release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons.
      3. While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the
device. The device should turn on. Note: If you see the battery charge warning,
let the device charge for at least ten minutes to ensure that the battery has some
charge, and then start with step 2 again.
      4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen.
When this screen appears you can release the Home button:
      5. If necessary, open iTunes. You should see the following "recovery mode" alert:
      6. Use iTunes to restore the device.
If you don't see the "Connect to iTunes" screen, try these steps again. If you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen but the device does not appear in iTunes, see this article and its related links.
    Additional Information:
If you have a problem getting into recovery mode then try: RecBoot: Easy Way to Put iPhone into Recovery Mode.
Note: When using recovery mode, you can only restore the device. All user content on the device will be erased, but if you had previously synced with iTunes on this computer, you can restore from a previous backup. See this article for more information.
