Passcode doesn't work

I update my iphone now and he asked me for a passcode to use in the icloud keychain. After restarting the phone I enter the passcode to open it and nothing happened. I am sure of my passcode but I don't know what happened and I can't open the phone

I have the same problem... Too many different Apple passcodes and it's hard to figure out which of the many Apple passcode it's asking for at any given prompt.

  • HT4623 SOMEHOW the icon for rotation lock is missing from the control bar. I tried to reset but my passcode doesn't work. First, how do I find my passcode? Then, if I reset, will it return the rotation lock to the control bar?

I don't know how it happened why, but the icon for rotation lock is missing from the control bar. Second problem, the passcode for my iPad isn't working. I wrote it down, so not sure what the problem is. HELP

If the setting for the rotation lock is missing it is because you are using the side switch to control the rotation in Settings>General>Use Side Switch to>Lock Rotation. The software switch in the control center should be for Muting system sounds.
you have to restore the iPad in orde to unlock it now.
iOS: Forgotten passcode or device disabled after entering wrong ...
If you are sure that you are entering the correct passcode, reboot the iPad and then try again and see if it is accepted.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

  • After ios 5 update and restore from backup my passcode doesn't work, what happened?

yesterday iupdated my ipod touch 4g to ios5 and i selected to backup from an itunes backup i made yesterday morning, but after doing so, my ipod went to sleep, and when i tried to unlock it, it told me ipod disabled wait 1 minute, after a minute i tried again but then  it said wait 5 minutes, why isn't my passcode working?

Restore from Backup once more. Passcodes are not restored in backups, so you should be able to get on the iPod without a passcode, then go into Settings and set up a new one (or the old one if you want).

  • IPhone Configuration utility locked my phone now passcode doesn't work

Googled the heck out of this but haven't seen any posts even close to this problem.
I was testing the iPhone Configuration Utility, prior to deploying configurations to enterprise users. I modified the passcode settings to what i thought would be basic requirements.
I also created payloads for Restrictions, and Exchange ActiveSync, but haven't included in the post, since I am fairly certain they shouldn't have any impact to the issue.
Once I saved the profile, i deployed to my phone via email, and installed it on my device. It then locked, and will not accept the passcode that I was using before installing the "test" profile.
The only other screen that I made any change to, that refers to any sort of password/code, was in the General area:
I set a security password to control when the profile can be removed, but it is a password more than the simple four-digit that the phone appears to be looking for.
I can try 2 more times before the phone wipes, which isnt the end of the world thanks to iCloud, but I sure would like to know what happened....
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
    Kevin

Thanks Bonesaw, I did connect the phone to the host running ICPU, but it was still looking for some unknown passcode. I ended up putting the phone in DFU mode as suggested by Kilt, and restored the phone. This is the first I've used the iPCU, but I would have been willing to bet the authentication password for the profile wouldnt affect the device passcode. I must have done something else wrong, so I will try it again and see what happens. Thanks for responding!

  • After updating to 6.1, the passcode doesn't work.

After updating Ipad2 operating system to 6.1.3, the passcode appears to be incorrect. It shows message " Ipad is diabled" try in 60min.

If you cannot remember the passcode, you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. This allows you to reset your passcode and resync the data from the device (or restore from a backup).
If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present.
You may have to force iPad/iPod into Recovery Mode

  • I am locked out of my new iphone 4S.  What I thought was my passcode doesn't work.  What can I do get in?

I can't get in to my new iphone 4S.  The passwords I tried don't work.  How can I unlock it?

Options for when an iOS device gets locked because of forgotten password:
Restore (and reset password) on your device by connecting it to the last computer to which it was connected:
iTunes: Backing up, updating, and restoring iOS software - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414
If you cannot connect it to the computer to which the device was last connected you will have to use recovery mode to completely reset the device, losing all data:
iOS: Unable to update or restore - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808 - recovery mode (e.g., cannot connect to computer last used to sync device, iTunes still asks for a password)
If by password you mean a restrictions settings password, this requires a complete recovery of the phone as in the second link.

  • I just upgrade the OS and the passcode doesn't work.  help!!

Now that the OS upgrade happened it won't accept my passcode.  What do i do?

Are you sure the speakers cable plugged in the headphones jack and not the line-in jack? ... on my MBP on rare occasions I get a red light in the jack and no sounds comes from it, jiggling the jack in an out while swirling it fixes the problem.
Also check in System Preferences>Sound>Output if 'Headphones' is the name of the Device selected when the jack is plugged, when unplugged it should say 'Internal Speakers'.

  • HT4113 Simple Passcode doesn't want to work... :-/

    Hi Guys,
I have a quite annoying problem on my iPhone 3GS, Simple Passcode doesn't work on my device.
I can switch Simple Passcode to on state while passcode is off, (that is passcode is still disabled and not used)  but when I turn passcode on the state of Simple Passcode switch jumps back to off state after all.
Do you have any solution for it?
    I would appreciate...
    Many thanks in advance!
    Norbi

    Hi Chris,
Yes, it allows to enter a simple passcode, but when I set it and get back the passcode settings page simple passcode goes to off state again and next time when I want to unlock my phone it asks my 4 digits with fully keyboard instead of numeric.
So it means that I can not switch on simple passcode but strong even if I stand on my head too...
I've already tried it on another phone (our compan phone) and it works flawlessly as it should, but mine... makes me crazy.
Thanks for your reply in advance!
    Best regards,
    Norbi

  • After upgrading to IOS 7 my passcode doen't work even tho it did at first. but it did at first.

I upgraded and in the process changed my passcode.  Everything was fine for a little while but after about an hour I tried to log into my phone and now the passcode doesn't work. I am certain I am using the correct passcode so that is not the problem. Since the next appt at a genius bar near me is days away I am completely without a phone unless this is solved. Any ideas?

I realize you said you used the correct pascode but try here >  iOS: Forgotten passcode or device disabled after entering wrong passcode

Besweet, I'm having the very same problem with 60GB colour which was bought new and worked for 6 months before suddenly just not being recognised by PC. I hadn't changed anything at all.
I've followed all troubleshooting advice and reinstalled and updated iTunes and iPod updater software but all troubleshooting routes seem to hit the dead end of either the need to access the iPod via the PC (which isn't possible as it's not showing up at all) or the iPod in disc mode stuck at "ok to disconnect".
It's still under 1yr warranty so will have to take to a dealer.
I'm sorry that's not much help for you but at least you know it's not a unique problem.

You can't "accidentally" put a passcode on any iPhone...its a multi-step process. Further, restoring an iPhone will remove the passcode, as the passcode is not included in an iPhone backup.
Are you sure you're talking about the phone passcode & not something else...like the "Restrictions" passcode?

You need to do more research before you make purchases like this. You've wasted your money. The ONLY officially unlocked iPhone model sold in the US is the GSM model, and that model is only sold by Apple. That's the model iPhone you should have purchased.
Did you read & understand my initial post? Especially this part:
The unlocking of the GSM portion is just for International travel in order to use local sims. You still have to pay Sprint for the use of their international GSM partner’s network on a “pay as you go basis”.

Erasing the device is supposed to erase the passcode which is supposed to allow you to activate the device again. Let it go for the 10 minutes and then see if you can activate it again. You can also try erasing the device again and see what happens.
    Go to icloud.com/#find.
If prompted, sign in with your iCloud Apple ID.
Click All Devices at the top of your browser window.
Select the device you want to erase.
Click "Erase [device]" to erase your device and its passcode.
Use the Setup Assistant on your device to restore the most recent backup.
This is what Apple recommends, so you have to trust that it is going to work .....
