Passcode lock enabled... don't know the code!!

My curious son was playing with my iphone and somehow managed to enable the the passcode lock... is there a way to reset it? I have absolutely no idea what numbers he entered and since he is 3, he's no help! Someone please tell me this can be fixed?

"Setting an iPhone passcode is not something that can be done accidentally, it requires a deliberate action."
While this is true...trust me, a toddler pressing buttons can "accidentally" enter the perfect sequence to enable the passcode...
thanks for the advice everyone... will try to restore today... hope it works!

A passcode was put on an itouch and we don't know the code to get onto the itouch....What do we do?

If you can't remember the Passcode, you need to restore the device from the computer it was last synced with.
Instructions for putting the device in recovery mode > iOS: Unable to update or restore
If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present

    hi need your help.

how can i get this problem solved?
    thx
    peter

Here's how you put it into recovery mode
1: Turn off your iPHone by holding the sleep/wake button till it says "Slide to power off."
2: Hold down the home button (Button on the bottom of the display with a square in the middle) and connect it to the computer while still holding it down till you see a music note with an arrow pointing towards it appear on the screen of your iPhone
3: iTunes will give you a message, "iTunes has detected a device in recovery mode; you must restore this device to factory settings to use this device."
    4: Click on "Restore iPHone."

  • Activation lock screen - don't know the email

This is for an iPod touch that belongs to our company.
We have an exiting employee who has given back their iPod touch.  However, he does not know the email he used to create the iCloud account with.  All we are provided with is a*****@gmail.com.  He has no idea what the email is.  I already did a factory reset through iTunes, but the activation lock screen still persists.  Is there any way we can view the complete a*****@gmail.com email to get to the bottom of this?
I should note that the device was also issed to a previous employee, but I cannot contact them.
I'm not trying to outright bypass the lock screen.  I'm just trying to see if there's a way to view the complete email of the Apple ID so we can go through the standard password reset mode.

Have him recover the ID and password
Is there a way to find my Apple ID Name if I can't remember it?
Yes. Visit My Apple ID and click Find your Apple ID. See Finding your Apple ID if you'd like more information.
How do I change or recover a forgotten Apple ID Password?
If you've forgotten your Apple ID Password or want to change it, go to My Apple ID and follow the instructions. SeeChanging your Apple ID password if you'd like more information.
If you are the original purchaser of the iPod and purchased it directly from Apple, Apple may be able to help

  • I don't know the unlock code...

Ok recently when i was in the car i had set my ipod down. Then when i picked it back up i found on the screen that it said enter code and had this little lock on it. Well i was happy to find that i could make the screen go away and still listen to my ipod, but later i found out that i couldnt turn the volume up all the way. I went to settings and clicked on volume limit to see if that was why the volume had changed, and when i clicked on it that enter code page popped up again. so obviously a lock had been put on it but i don't know the code. Is there any way to get it off?

ok nevermind about that I finally figured out the code. all i did was go through all the possible combinations and thankfully it was one of the first few i tried.

  • Don't know the password

My query is about the password of the Blackberry phone. I know the PIN-code of the Blackberry but I don't know the code.
I desperately want to unluck the phone, in order to see what kind of data I still have on the phone (possibly some of my own). Please tell me there is a way to do so.
    Cheers,

    Hi drlrz
    Welcome to BlackBerry Support Forums
If that password has been set by any other then there is no way to get pass without entering the correct password. If that phone is your's and it has password set then if you enter 10 incorrect password ( By default ) it will wipe the device. So best deal is to enter wrong password it will wipe the device and it will be like as new .

  • HT201210 Can somebody please help me, PLEASE!?! I have sentimental pics on my ipad but I have locked myself out, and don't know the passcode to unlock it.

The sentimental pics on here can't be replaced cuz they are of my son and his best friend Scooter, his dog. We moved and couldn't keep him so I had to take him to the Humane Society where he was adopted.  I have tried to get the info of the new family that has him, but of course for privacy issues, they won't give it to me. So now that you know how desperate I am, please is there ANY way that I can restore the ipad without knowing the code? My son is heartbroken already at loosing him, but if I can't restore the ipad, he will loose all the pics that he has of him. I can verify any and all info of the purchase or anything that would need verified.

I did try to get help by going into the local Apple store.  However, I was told that the only way to get it working again, now that I am locked out it, is to get on itunes and do a complete factory reset. This of course would fix the locked out issue but I would loose all the pics.

  • HT201441 Need to erase my old iphone but... It's locked (I don't remember the pass code#, it is not connected to wi-fi or cellular #so I can't erase from my icloud).  Help??

I need to erase my old (unused currently) phone so my kids can use it on wi-fi and play games but it's locked & I don't remember the pass code.  Any one know how to erase it and start over without the pass code.
PS it is not currently connedted to wi-fi so the simple "erase device" using iCloud won't work.

Here is a guide how you could reset your iPhone via iTunes, if you cannot remember the passcode: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1212?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US

  • HT4623 phone is locked with a passcode and I don't have the passode, it says connect to itunes, and itunes won't connect because it says to enter passcode on phone. The device also does not show in itunes so I can't restore

    Recovery Mode
    1. Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
    2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
    3. While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
    4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears, release the Home button.
    5. iTunes should alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then click Restore to restore the device.
Note: You need to be patient and repeat the above many times to recover your iPad. Data will be lost.

  • My uncle has died and we are trying to access his iPad but don't know his code so the iPad is disabled. Can we unlock it without resetting the device as we don't know if he's backed it up our not and don't want to lose whatever he has on there?

My uncle passed away recently and we are trying to access his iPad but don't know his code so the iPad is disabled. Can we unlock it without having to reset it as we don't know if he's backed anything up and we don't want to lose whatever is on there... thanks in advance.

About all you can do is take the device to an Apple Store along with the death certificate and explain the situation...if someone can do something, it would be them.

This is a user forum. You aren't talking to Apple here.
Return your iPhone for a refund. There is no way to remove the Activation Lock. Apple won't get involved.
