Comment puis-je passer de OSX 10.5.8 à une version plus récente afin de pouvoir mettre à jour mon I phone

Desole, mais c'est en englais.
Before buying anything you should first make sure your machine will accept the upgrade you have in mind.
Minimum specs for Snow Leopard.              Mac OS X v10.6 Snow Leopard -Read the Technical Specifications
In the UK …  the last known price was £14.
Before you start upgrading, back up your files.
Once you have upgraded to Snow Leopard you will need to download and apply the Combo updater.   Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1
Then follow with a software update to pick up any later updates.

  • Am using Macbook pro mid 2010 running on OSX 10.9.5. It does not read my old Seagate back up plus ITB ext hard disk which opens and works on snow leopard. The back ups were made on snow leopard and mountain lion. How do I make it work on Mavericks?

I have been making back ups on a Seagate Back up plus drive on a macbook pro running on Mountain lion. Sadly the mac was stolen and all I had was the seagate back up. I tried opening it on my old iMac running on snow leopard and after several visits to this forum managed to open it. The data was safe and sound. Now I have received a hand me down macbook pro which runs on osx 10.9.5. I'm assuming there is a compatability issue as the drive does not come on at all when I hook it up to the usb port. I checked the seagate drive once again on the imac and its light came on on that system. Then I suspected there may be a problem with this macbook pro usb port. But it seemed to work fine when i hooked my camera cord into it. Is it that I must reinstall mavericks. In which case how do I back up before reformatting or reinstalling. BTW I did the command+ R thingy and repaired my internal Hard disc which was showing errors. What do I do next, your help is most appreciated if you have had a similar problem.

Your 2010 MBP would be able to handle Yosemite, but I would strongly suggest that you get the current problem sorted out before trying to upgrade to Yosemite. I'd also recommend another backup that isn't created by Time Machine if you are thinking of upgrading. SuperDuper and CarbonCopyCloner can make bootable clones of hard drives. If you clone your existing system to a fresh external drive, you would be able to boot from that drive and recover quickly in the event that your Yosemite upgrade didn't work out. Time Machine backups are not 100% reliable.
It's possible that, if your internal HD is the one that shipped with your MBP in 2010, it may be failing. If it keeps needing repairs, that is probably a sign that it is approaching the end of its useful life.
Have you run Disk Utility's Repair tool on the external drive as well?
I mentioned the hub because some people have reported here that attaching their USB 3 drives through a USB 2 hub solved some disconnection problems. A good-quality powered USB 2 hub won't cost much.
My most recent brush with random disconnections involved a nice new OWC drive enclosure. I used the cable that came with the drive, but the drive kept disconnecting. Using a different cable solved the problem. You wouldn't expect that what appeared to be a high quality cable would be a problem straight out of the box, but it was.

  • I am running Mac OSx Lion 10.7.2. My problem is I can't search on an external network server for a file with the finder toolbar anymore. Nothing shows up and it will not search. I was able to in snow-leopard and am no longer able to w. Lion. Suggestions?

I am running Mac OSx Lion 10.7.2.
My issue is that I am not able to run a search in the finder toolabar on a network server. No files show up nor does it search on the server anymore. I was able to run the search in snow-leopard and am no longer able to do so with Lion. Is there a preference I can change or some kind of app or program I can download that will help me with this issue? This is extremely problematic for me as I am searching for files all day everyday. Thank you!

    Hello,
It isn't the fw in Network you want o use or look at, that's for something completely different.
My first suspect is the Power Adapter on the LaCie has gone.
At the Apple Icon at top left>About this Mac, then click on More Info, then click on Hardware>Firewire, what is listed there?
    Reset the Firewire bus
If your Firewire or USB isn't recognizing any device.  A solution which has worked for some whose hard drive became invisible in 10.4 was simply to follow these four steps to reset the Firewire/USB bus:
    1. Shut the machine down.
    2. UNPLUG the power lead to the computer and any firewire/USB drive or devices.
    3. leave it for 10 minutes.
    4. Connect back up and reboot.

  • Just purchased a ipad2, could not us it on my MacBook 10.4.1 - Purchased and installed OSX Snow Leopard 10.6.3 - downloaded and installed latest itunes, set up a itunes accounts and tested by purchasing an album and app, ipad does not show in devises?

I just purchased a ipad2, it would not work on my MacBook 10.4.1 I purchased and installed OSX snow leopard 10.6.3 downloaded and installed the latest itunes, set up an itunes account, purchased some music and apps.  When i plug in my ipod it shows up and works, but when i plug in my new ipad the ipad screen comes up with a display of a cable and itunes but does not show in devises, i have tried all the resets and different USB ports with no success.  Any ideas short of selling it on ebay or buying a new computer?

If you've already tried the usual rebooting of the computer and ports and stuff, there is only a few things left I can think of. It's possible that when you updated iTunes it didn't fully replace all the files, so I suggest just manually removing iTunes and then reinstalling it.
Try removing iTunes manually first http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1224 then download a fresh copy, make sure it is 10.3.1
It is essential that you go through Finder to remove those files it mentions. Otherwise they won't be reinstalled when you run the installer again.

  • Is there a way to connect an old Sunflower iMac (OSX 10.4.11) to a new Time Capsule?  It used to work with old Airport Extreme with updates thru Snow Leopard but now seems to only allow WEP encryption instead of WPA.

Is there a way to connect an old Sunflower iMac (OSX 10.4.11) to a new Time Capsule?  It used to work with old Airport Extreme network, run from a intel iMac with updates thru Mavericks but now seems to only allow WEP encryption instead of WPA and can't connect to Time Capsule.  Airport Extreme Base was controllable from either computer up through Snow Leopard (I didn't do any of the Lion upgrades).  Then when I upgraded to Mavericks I lost the ability to use Airport Utility with this hardware on the Sunflower but could still connect wirelessly to network without any problems.  But now with the Time Capsule upgrade the Sunflower is blocked from network by a dialogue that requests ony WEP password, not WPA pwd used by Time Capsule.  Neither can I use the old airport extreme base to extend the time capsule network since I can't input the correct password/encryption approach to join it.  Is there a work around?  Would a newer but old Airport Express be able to extend network to Sunflower?  Or maybe a third party wireless (such as Netgear, Dlink, etc) that has browser type control rather than special utility?
Another question--before I used MAC addresses to control who could access network.  Now on Time Capsule I don't see anything about this--so is it true now that the only access control is via WPA2 pwd now (which appears to be the encryption pwd and not the time capsule pwd)?

Is there a way to connect an old Sunflower iMac (OSX 10.4.11) to a new Time Capsule?
I can’t claim to completely grasp the issue(s) you’re describing, but the underlying problem is presumably your iMac’s obsolete AirPort card. Whatever the case, an obvious (if not particularly helpful) answer to your stated question would be to connect your iMac with an ethernet cable, using powerline adapters as an alternative if you don’t want to have wire running all over the place.
My still fully functional clamshell iBook, with an original AirPort card, connects wirelessly to my 4th Generation TC network by means of a cheap 802.11b/g/n USB Wi-Fi adapter. This might be an option for you too.
Another question--before I used MAC addresses to control who could access network.  Now on Time Capsule I don't see anything about this
When you edit your TC's settings the access controls appear under the Network tab, don't they?

  • I have a MacBook 5,1 (13.3" aluminum from 2007 or 2008). Automatic updates will only let me get to OSX 10.5.8.  Can I upgrade to Snow Leopard, Lion 10.6 or even 10.6.8?  Also, will I have any issues with my iPhone if it's updated to iOS 7.1?

The 10.6 Snow Leopard DVD is in the Apple online store. You can get it for $19.99. You will need to be running 10.6.8 to access the App Store to order Lion or Mountain Lion. http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
    System Requirements for 10.6:
Mac computer with an Intel processor
    1GB of memory
    5GB of available disk space
    DVD drive for installation
Some features require a compatible internet service provider: fees may apply.
You can upgrade direct from 10.6.8 to 10.8 Mountain Lion without going through 10.7 Lion with the Late 2008 model 5,1 Aluminum Unibody. The Model 5,1 will probably run 10.9 Mavricks when it comes out.
10.8 Mountain Lion is a download from the App Store, the price is $19.99.
Mountain Lion will require at least 2gb of RAM but really needs 4gb to run smoothly.
As for third party programs see this list for compatibility with 10.8 http://roaringapps.com/apps:table
Also Mountain Lion doesn't run any Power PC programs. To see if you have any Power PC programs go to the Apple in the upper left corner and select About This Mac, then click on More Info. When System Profiler comes up select Applications under Software. Then look under Kind to see if any of your applications are listed as Power PC. Universal and Intel will run under Mountain Lion.
Before Mac switched to Intel processors in 2006 they used Power PC processors from 1994 to 2005. Power PC 601 through 604, G3, G4 and G5. Applications written for the Power PC processors need the application called Rosetta to run on Intel processors. This was part of the Operating System in 10.4 and 10.5 but was an optional install in 10.6. With 10.7 Lion Apple dropped all support for Power PC applications.

    Hi, you need 10.6.8 first...
First you need to research all the problems people are having with the higher OSX versions, & make sure you have a bootable clone of what you have just in case.
then you must get 10.6, install it & update to 10.6.8 so you have the App Store to buy & download the huge 10.8 Installer.
    Snow Leopard/10.6.x Requirements...
    General requirements
       * Mac computer with an Intel processor
        * 1GB of memory (I say 4GB at least, more if you can afford it)
        * 5GB of available disk space (I say 30GB at least)
        * DVD drive for installation
        * Some features require a compatible Internet service provider; fees may apply.
        * Some features require Apple’s MobileMe service; fees and terms apply.
Which apps work with Mac OS X 10.6?...

  • My daughter has a 2002 intel running Tiger and I want to update it to Snow Leopard. I get an error message that OSX can't be installed on this system. Please help!!! Thanks

    Hi,
I'm having a really hard time here.
I want to update my daughters intel from Tiger to Snow Leopard for her to make her life (and mine) easier.
When I try install the OS, I keep getting an error message that OSX can't be installed on this Mac.
    What's going on?
Never had so much trouble before.
    Please help.
    Thanks so much

You're welcome. Please note that it is a little more difficult to obtain Snow Leopard these days. Please see the post by Kappy at the link below.

  • I upgraded my Mac from OSX 10.5.8 to Snow Leopard and then to Mountain Lion 10.8.2.  I did have Microsoft Office for Mac 2004 in my applications and now get a message "can't open Office because Power PC applications are no longer supported."

I just upgraded my MAC from OSX 10.5.8 to Snow Leopard and then to Mountain Lion 10.8.2.  When I try to access my Microsoft Office for MAC (2004 edition) files I am getting a message "can't open Office because Power PC applications are no longer supported.  How can I access all of my save Word documents?  I just want to be able to retrieve all of my documents that were in Microsoft Office for Mac (2004).  If I purchase the newest version of MS office for Mac from Apple will I be able to retrieve my old documents?

Use any number of free alternatives to your nearly decade old version of MS Office.
    Consider
    LibreOffice (donation-supported)
    NeoOffice (free)
    OpenOffice (free)
In addition to the above I also recommend Apple's Pages ($19.99). I use OpenOffice and Pages and have been completely Microsoft - free for years. Life is better without Microsoft.

  • ITunes latest update 10.5 affects Snow Leopard OSX 10.6.8

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.8)I have a couple year old Macbok pro with Intel Processor. I am running the latest version of Snow Leopard 10.6.8.  After updating to the new iTunes version 10.5, two of my three USB Jump drives would no longer function. The INFO showed I had about 50% of the space still available. Errors included "out of available space and somrthing about corrupt data. After spending hours on the phone with Apple Support, I ended up reinstalling the OSX Operating System This did not fix the problem. Turns out my third jump drive worked just fine. The difference between the jump drives was the first two were formatted FAT16. The third was formatted FAT32. After using the OSX Disc Utility to reprogram the first two drives to FAT32 they worked just fine. SO BEWARE!! The iTunes update to 10 seems to have affected the OSX Operating System compatability and now FAT32 is required. I am not a very experienced Mac User so perhaps there will be some posts about this that will explain what may really be happening here.

This is one of the most confusing problems I have ever read.
First you say you have upgraded from 10.5 (Leopard) to 10.6 (Snow Leopard).
Then you say that "About this Mac" says you have 10.9.1 (Mavericks).
Then you again say you upgraded from 10.5 to 10.6.
The only thing that seems to make sense of this, and what I suspect is you got confused, thought you had 10.5/10.6 and borked your Safari install by running an old updater for Safari 5.
That, or you have an old copy of Safari sitting somewhere, and you are trying to run that instead of the one in the Applications folder.
v5.1.10 is the last version of Safari for 10.6 (Snow Leopard), though some dev previews of 6 could be installed.
v6.1.1 is the current version for OS X 10.7 (Lion) and 10.8 (Mountain Lion).
v7.0.1 is the current version and it requires OS X 10.9 (Mavericks).

    Hello royalaqua,
I do think you should ask yourself if upgrading to Lion is the right course to take.
Snow Leopard is an excellent OS and Lion has literally been frozen out after barely a year.   Remember too that some of your apps may not work with Lion (those that have Rosetta, for example) so that could mean more new purchases.   Plus you may need to uprate your RAM too.
