Passing a UNIXProcess across the wire through RMI

hi....
Well, is it possible to send a remote UNIXProcess across the wire through rmi?
when Iam trying to do that the following exception is being thrown....
java.rmi.UnmarshalException: error unmarshalling return; nested exception is:
java.io.WriteAbortedException: writing aborted; java.io.NotSerializableException: java.lang.UNIXProcessThanks for any help.

well, since we are talking about streaming, sockets will definitely be closer to what you want. however, in many ways sockets are more work to setup and manage compared to rmi. but, if you are sticking with the core jdk i would definitely recommend using sockets, because streaming over rmi is not easy to implement, and you're much better off dealing with sockets. of course, since you are probably already using rmi for the high level communication, using a library like RMIIO allows you to leverage the existing communication infrastructure, instead of dropping down to sockets for the input/output streaming. each side has its pros and cons.

I have a silly doubt about sequence structure that I used sequence structure to give some delay between my modules. I need pass all the wires through Seq Stru, So, I doped a Seq Stru on all wires But all wires are still in the background(not through Seq stru). I can make them by selecting each one but is there any option available that can just pass all existed wires through it.

Assuming you're using a Flat Sequence....
Tack the wire to the sequence structure edge, which will create a tunnel. From that tunnel, wire through to the next frame, etc.
Better yet, don't use the sequence structure. Use error in / error out wiring to force dataflow from your modules to a delay timer VI that has error in/our terminals, such as the one from Open G, or make your own.

Error While Connecting through RMI

Hi,
I am getting the following error when connecting to the server through RMI.This problem is occurring only in Linux and when connecting remotely.In windows we are able to succeed and if both server and client in the same machine able to connect.The problem persists when connecting to the server remotely in Linux.
Caused by: java.rmi.NoSuchObjectException: no such object in table

The remote object has been unexported, probably via DGC action. The solution is to hold a static reference to it in the server JVM.

Passing interface through rmi

Hi,
I would like to know if its possible to pass an interface through RMI. I have currently 2 applications connected through RMI. In application A, we have the full running simulation, so is it possible to pass the whole running simulation over to application B through RMI such that whatever is happening on application A would be shown on application B dynamically.
If rmi cannot do this, what other alternatives do I have. Thanks in advance!

Yes, you can do this.
You would not be passing an interface however, you would be passing object A. So make sure A is serialisable, as well as all the objects it is using.
The receiving VM will need the class files for the objects being used by A, so you have two options:
The classes can be in the static classpath of VM B.
The classes can by dynamically loaded from a file server, as needed.
The first option is simplest, the second is the most flexible.
One more thing; when you send the simulation A to VM B, you have performed an object 'pass-by-value' which normally does not happen in Java. Therefore, A will be running in VM B, but you will also have your original version, still running in VM A.

Passing multi value parameter to the Drill through report

Hi
I have two reports say Report A and Report B.
Both reports using same parameters.
I am Navigating from Report A to Report B using Jump to Report option.
Now when I pass multiple parameter to the Report B it only displays first parameter results.
In report B I have parameter multi value select to true.
I would like to know if its possible or not to pass multi value parameter in drill through report?
I would appreciate if someone can help me here.

Yes you can pass multi value parameters to a drill through report.

Passing Search Parameter to SRM-MDM Through the URL

Greeting all,
I would like to know how I can pass a search parameter to SRM-MDM using the URL in the web browser. This is needed to display the result directly instead of listing the whole catalog contents.
I am trying to pass a search parameter (Text string) to the catalog through an R/3 SAP system. As a result, it should give only the material that I am looking for.
I tried the "Background Search" as described in the OCI-specification paper but still couldn't get it!
By using the parameters mentioned in chapter 3.2.4 of OCI-specification paper, I did the recommended configuration and use the following URL but still failed to pass the parameter: http://....&FUNCTION=BACKGROUND_SEARCH&SEARCHSTRING=searchterm

Why dont u save the search as a named search in MDM and then pass it onto the SRM MDM.
Save the records as Named search in MDM Data Manager
For eg:
Named Search name -->> search1
Now while passing the parameters to the SRM MDM Catalog specify the Named Search in its url.

I create query through form depends on user selection.
Means user select specified columns from specific table. And finally i create complete query.
Now i wanna pass that query to report builder and wants to generate automatic report depends on that query.

You should pass all columns but with separator character i.e.:
supl_cd||';'|| supl_name ||';' city ||';'|| add1 ||';'|| add2 ||';'|| pincode ||';'|| country my_column
You should also pass column names if you want and get them back using the same procedure.
Procedure for retrieving should use instr,loop and srw.do_sql, if you don't know what is SRW built in package, then take a look in report's help. That's a pity that there is nothing similar in forms. You can use dynamic select to pass values exactly to the report's variables:

Hi laser jet pro 400 as just decided it's going to print anymore through the wire. Tried three different wires no good. It says not communicating with printer. Tried others computers and it the same.

How do I turn off Skype highlighting, so it doesn't automatically do it when I put a phone number on our website through Plone? The code gets repeated so it says "Skype highlighting" all across the page, and it's a pain to have to delete them all.

See question above. Our website hosts think it's something to do with Firefox since it doesn't happen for them. When I go into a web page to update information, if it has a phone number, after I make an update, the words "Skype highlighting" extend all across the page. It's frustrating.

Question about the concept of RMI reverse calls.

I'd appreciate if someone could clarify something to me. As far as I understand , RMI reverse call in concept, is the mean thought witch a server can remotely call a method belonging to the client.
I've done that like this: the client called a method from to the server(classic rmi) , method that had the particularity to received as a parameter an instance of a serialized .class belonging to client. Through that received remote object it seems the server can call specific methods belonging to the client .class.
I'm not sure it's the correct way to do reverse calls, but what puzzles me is that shouldn't the server be able to call a client method without first needing to receive that instance of the client's .class and implicitly being dependent on that client initial call (maybe to get that .class in a different way)?

1. This procedure is a diagnostic test. It changes nothing, for better or worse, and therefore will not, in itself, solve the problem. But with the aid of the test results, the solution may take a few minutes, instead of hours or days.
The test works on OS X 10.7 ("Lion") and later. I don't recommend running it on older versions of OS X. It will do no harm, but it won't do much good either.
Don't be put off by the complexity of these instructions. The process is much less complicated than the description. You do harder tasks with the computer all the time.
2. If you don't already have a current backup, back up all data before doing anything else. The backup is necessary on general principle, not because of anything in the test procedure. Backup is always a must, and when you're having any kind of trouble with the computer, you may be at higher than usual risk of losing data, whether you follow these instructions or not.
There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional. Ask if you need guidance.
3. Below are instructions to run a UNIX shell script, a type of program. As I wrote above, it changes nothing. It doesn't send or receive any data on the network. All it does is to generate a human-readable report on the state of the computer. That report goes nowhere unless you choose to share it. If you prefer, you can act on it yourself without disclosing the contents to me or anyone else.
You should be wondering whether you can believe me, and whether it's safe to run a program at the behest of a stranger. In general, no, it's not safe and I don't encourage it.
In this case, however, there are a couple of ways for you to decide whether the program is safe without having to trust me. First, you can read it. Unlike an application that you download and click to run, it's transparent, so anyone with the necessary skill can verify what it does.
You may not be able to understand the script yourself. But variations of it have been posted on this website thousands of times over a period of years. The site is hosted by Apple, which does not allow it to be used to distribute harmful software. Any one of the millions of registered users could have read the script and raised the alarm if it was harmful. Then I would not be here now and you would not be reading this message. See, for example, this discussion.
Nevertheless, if you can't satisfy yourself that these instructions are safe, don't follow them. Ask for other options.
4. Here's a summary of what you need to do, if you choose to proceed:
☞ Copy a line of text in this window to the Clipboard.
☞ Paste into the window of another application.
☞ Wait for the test to run. It usually takes a few minutes.
☞ Paste the results, which will have been copied automatically, back into a reply on this page.
The sequence is: copy, paste, wait, paste again. You don't need to copy a second time. Details follow.
5. Try to test under conditions that reproduce the problem, as far as possible. For example, if the computer is sometimes, but not always, slow, run the test during a slowdown.
You may have started up in "safe" mode. If the system is now in safe mode and works well enough in normal mode to run the test, restart as usual. If you can only test in safe mode, do that.
6. If you have more than one user, and the one affected by the problem is not an administrator, then please run the test twice: once while logged in as the affected user, and once as an administrator. The results may be different. The user that is created automatically on a new computer when you start it for the first time is an administrator. If you can't log in as an administrator, test as the affected user. Most personal Macs have only one user, and in that case this section doesn’t apply. Don't log in as root.
7. The script is a single long line, all of which must be selected. You can accomplish this easily by triple-clicking anywhere in the line. Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
8. Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
Click anywhere in the Terminal window and paste by pressing command-V. The text you pasted should vanish immediately. If it doesn't, press the return key.
9. If you see an error message in the Terminal window such as "Syntax error" or "Event not found," enter
exec bash
and press return. Then paste the script again.
10. If you're logged in as an administrator, you'll be prompted for your login password. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. You will not see the usual dots in place of typed characters. Make sure caps lock is off. Type carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you make three failed attempts to enter the password, the test will run anyway, but it will produce less information. If you don't know the password, or if you prefer not to enter it, just press return three times at the password prompt. Again, the script will still run.
If you're not logged in as an administrator, you won't be prompted for a password. The test will still run. It just won't do anything that requires administrator privileges.
11. The test may take a few minutes to run, depending on how many files you have and the speed of the computer. A computer that's abnormally slow may take longer to run the test. While it's running, a series of lines will appear in the Terminal window like this:

The intervals between parts won't be exactly equal, but they give a rough indication of progress. The total number of parts may be different from what's shown here.
Wait for the final message "Process completed" to appear. If you don't see it within about ten minutes, the test probably won't complete in a reasonable time. In that case, press the key combination control-C or command-period to stop it and go to the next step. You'll have incomplete results, but still something.
12. When the test is complete, or if you stopped it because it was taking too long, quit Terminal. The results will have been copied to the Clipboard automatically. They are not shown in the Terminal window. Please don't copy anything from there. All you have to do is start a reply to this comment and then paste by pressing command-V again.
At the top of the results, there will be a line that begins with the words "Start time." If you don't see that, but instead see a mass of gibberish, you didn't wait for the "Process completed" message to appear in the Terminal window. Please wait for it and try again.
If any private information, such as your name or email address, appears in the results, anonymize it before posting. Usually that won't be necessary.
13. When you post the results, you might see an error message on the web page: "You have included content in your post that is not permitted," or "You are not authorized to post." That's a bug in the forum software. Please post the test results on Pastebin, then post a link here to the page you created.
14. This is a public forum, and others may give you advice based on the results of the test. They speak for themselves, not for me. The test itself is harmless, but whatever else you're told to do may not be. For others who choose to run it, I don't recommend that you post the test results on this website unless I asked you to.

RADIUS Authentication Error Across the Subnet

Hi Guyz
I have configured Microsoft Server 2012 R2 as a RADIUS for Cisco IOS Devices
Server IP Address : 10.95.6.12
Router IP Address Fa 0/0.192 ---->>> 192.193.194.195
Router IP Address Fa 0/0.6 --->>> 10.95.6.1
Switch IP Address VLAN 192    ---->>> 192.193.194.2010.95.6.11
Switch IP Address VLAN 6 ---->>> 10.95.6.11
When i access the Cisco Devices RADIUS CLIENT with 10.95.6.x Subnet, It works fine
When i access the Cisco Devices through RADIUS CLIENT 192.193.194.x Subnet, It does not pass through the RADIUS Authentication.
Attached in the Picture i can not access the 192.193.194.20 Device but I can access 10.95.6.1 Device. As soon as I change the IP Address 10.95.6.11 I can access the Device.

ExternalInterface: pass object reference across interface - how?

I want to invoke methods on specific Javascript or
ActionScript objects through calls across the ExternalInterface
barrier. I would like to be able to do this either AS -> JS or
JS -> AS.
So I would like to pass an object reference across the
interface. I'm not sure exactly what *is* getting passed (is it the
serialized value of the object?), but it doesn't seem to work as an
object reference.
Here's a notional code sample. I have two symmetric object
definitions, one in Javascript, one in ActionScript. During
initialization, one instance of each object will be created and
given a pointer to the other. Then they should each be able to
invoke a method on the other to "do stuff".

My workaround is to pass a uint as an opaque handle for the
object, then resolve it when it is passed back. I'd rather pass a
real reference if possible. Is there a way to pass object
references between JS and AS?
