Passing credentials with the seed URL

I am trying to pass username and password with the seed url in the following format:
http://username:[email protected]/mypages/
It appears when I use a seed url in this format the crawler returns an an error saying site 127.0.0.0/mypages/ access denied.
When I place the URL in a browser it works fine. Is Ultrasearch removing the credentials and if so how do I get Ultrasearch to leave them in?

An URL with user name/password is not really an valid URL even though the browser support it.
In Ultra Search 9.0.2 this information can be provided through the admin GUI when specifying basic
authentication for a particular host/realm.

First tell us about your portal version; portal 10.1.4 has a slightly different method of doing it and the pre-10g portals were completely different animals.

Transporting of the Hyperlink approach with the hardcoded url's

Hi. VC guru's.
                   We have developed VC models with Hyperlink
option with the hardcoded url's.
                  when we execute the model we could be able
to get result. But our concern is
       1) There could be any issues we need to consider before
we Transporting models with hyperlink option with hard coded url's?
      2) how we transport the Hyperlink approach with the hardcoded url's through the landscape?
      3) As per my understanding , Based on the target system in the landscape we would have to adjust the hyperlinks. Not sure if the Portal transport system allows us to do that.
          Then in this situation what could we have to do?

The same method we used to pass parameters to the 2nd and 3rd i-views (Thread: Hi. Friends. Unable to Pass Parameters in Visual Composer) can be used here to pass parameters to the first i-view, one of which can be the address of the machine which is running the i-view.
This means that the 1st i-view will have a start point with for example, the field "host_address", which can be stored in a datastore, and then the URL of the button will be dynamically built using this field.
(for example the formula will be in the form of =datastore@host_address & "/irj/portalu2026")
Alternatively we can use 2 parameters for the accurate address of the 2nd i-view and of the 3rd i-view.

Hi Everyone,
It would be great if you can help me with the below.
Few days ago one of our content db went into suspect mode. Our DB team had resolved the issue. But one of the sites that was created probably around the same time is no more available. When I try to create a site on the same URL, I get the following
error.
Another site already exists at <URL>. Delete this site before attempting to create a new site with the same URL
When I try to delete the site or if I try to view the details of the site using Central Administration, I can find the site, but it doesn't display any details like Title, DB Name etc.
If I use stsad -o enumsites command to list ll the site, for the given site I get the following error:
<nativehr>0x80070002</nativehr><nativestack></nativestack>There is no Web named <URL>.
I am not even able to delete it using Powershell.
Please suggest.

You might be dealing with orphaned site. Go through the following blog post and see if it helps you delete the orphaned sites.

Need help adding filter criteria for reports with the GO URL + Post method.

In attempts to hide some of the information from the URL, we've decided to go pull the parameters out of the url used in the GO Url method. We've managed to get it to retrieve the report and display it without showing the user name and password how we cannot seem to pass in any search criterias.

can you try this:
<input type="hidden" name="P2" value='"Location"."Country ID"' />
Here, instead of enclosing the value in double quotes, enclose in single quotes. Also replace %22 and %20 with double quotes and space.

Invoking a web service with the WSDL URL given at run time

I have created a very Simple Web Service using Netbeans 6.0 as an EJB Module. I have successfully created clients to access the web service, both through a Composite Application and through a simple Java Desktop Application, using the create "New Web Service Client" option, either by pointing to the EJB project either by providing the WSDL URL.
What I want now, is for the Java Desktop application to be able to consume the service after it has discovered the WSDL URL at runtime (e.g. through UDDI).
From what I have been able to find on the web, I should use the javax.xml.ws.Service class. But when I attempt to use the getPort method I get the exception:
"com.sun.xml.ws.model.RuntimeModelerException: runtime modeler error: Wrapper class mypackagename.jaxws.MyWebServiceName is not found. Have you run APT to generate them?"
Since I know that this class is not needed for the Web Service to be accessed, when the two procedures I describe above are used, I wonder what I can do to get this to work.
I have tried using apt from the command line but it can't find Java EE classes, so it doesn't work.

Can a webpage with a URL with an added extension be opened with the short URL??

I want to have my website's basic URL: http://www.mousenstein.com open in the browser with the full content; ie the manually added /mousecliks.swf movie using the basic URL only, rather than http://www.mousenstein.com/mousecliks.swf ? Is that possible? If so, how?

I'm not totally familar with swf code but try the below. Copy and paste to a new Dreamweaver document, save it to your site root folder and see what happens.

Passing flashVars with the html-wrapper command

Hi,
Is it possible to pass flashVars when the html template is generated using the html-wrapper task? So that I dont have to edit the html template to add flashVars?
Something like this in the html wrapped swf?

When clicking links from Thunderbird, Firefox creates a new link with no data, I have to click again to create a new link with the correct url

When I click a link in thunderbird and also on firefox it creates a new tab with nothing in it, a blank web page. If I click the link again it creates a new tab with the link. If i click it again, a blank tab, click it again,new tab with the correct info. It seems to work only on the even numbered clicks not the odd ones.

If you delete all the Adobe Reader stuff it will probably fix this. For almost everything, the Apple pdf handling works better.

I have Webroot Security and Firefox is not compatible with the malicious URLs part of the program? How do I protect myself?

When I downloaded Firefox and was checking my extensions, I was advised that Firefox is not compatible with the malware prevention part of my Webroot security package. I use it successfully with Windows and just renewed for another year. What do you suggest I do to protect myself? I am not a computer expert so if you could reply in plain language it would be appreciated. Also, we stream videos a lot and I noticed that DivX is also not compatible. What do I do about that? I was having this issue for Firefox version 7 and had to spend one hour trying to find a solution. Here is the solution. Go to webroot.com, tab to support and than 2011 product support. Type in Firefox Toolbar it will than say are you unable to use firefox toolbar hit yes. It will say under 1. click hear to download patch. Save the file and after the download run it. After installed close firefox and you should have the webroot toolbar running again.
ff7fix.exe is the file you need.

Can't install flash player with the install url i was given

o.k. i would like to start over.
i'm running windows 7. ie8 and 64 bit. i uninstalled flashflayer with the uninstall you gave me. i saved install to desktop but when i open it it brings up the browser and i click on install and nothing happens. Right now i have no flash player installed. i slao deleted flash player object x,since it wasn't flash player object in the add on manager. i also have google crome. i just don't know what to do now.
