Passing Deployment Descriptor value to transformation - Important

All,
Version: 10.1.3.4
I have a requirement to get run time value and access it inside transformation (xslt). Hence I used deployment descriptor, but I'm stuck on how to access this value inside transformation. I tried ora:getPreference to use it inside Assign activity and successfully done this, but cudn't do the same inside transformation. Any pointers would be of great help.

Hi,
Ya, i'm looking for such doc. Can you please share it if you have?
I followed this (http://soacrux.blogspot.com/2010/08/passing-bpel-variable-contents-into.html) blog. For bpel 10g, is it mandatory to keep the XSLTParameters.xsd? If i use this xsd and create a variable of the xsd type, during deployment jdev throws an error
Error(64):
*[Error ORABPEL-10010]: unresolved element*
*[Description]: in line 64 of "D:\Application1\BPELProcess1\bpel\BPELProcess1.bpel", XML element "{http://schemas.oracle.com/service/bpel/common}parameters" of variable "Variable_3" is not defined.*
*[Potential fix]: Make sure the XML element "{http://schemas.oracle.com/service/bpel/common}parameters" is defined in one of WSDLs that are referenced by the deployment descriptor.*

  • Passing a context value to BAPI Import parameter in WebDynpro!

    Hi All,
    I have a small doubt here!
    I am trying to create a sales order using Webdynpro through BAPI.
    There i want to hard code the value of order type like, i want to fix the value before running the porgram itself i.e., statically i want to pass the value.
    What i have done is,
    created a Context variable and has assigned the value in the init() of view like,
    <b>wdContext.currentUIElementsElement().setDocType("ZORD")</b>
    and also changed the value attribute of InputField to the context variable called "DocType".
    But now we need to pass this context value to the BAPI Structure called ORDER_HEADER_IN  i.e, to the class "Bapisdhd1". with out the hardcode value it is working, but i want to pass the value before executing it self. so What i can do, can any body pls give sample line of coding.
    Thanks in advance,
    Regards,
    Sireesha.B

    Hi
    Have you bound instantiated the Bapi class?If not then do like this.
    BapiClass input = new BapiClass();
    wdContext.node<BAPINODE>.bind(input);
    Above code can be written in your Custom Controller or View's doinit.
    Then you write the code for doctype as given in the post above.

    Ajay

  • Challenges in deployment descriptors

    We currently have an EJB (called CD) that is contacted "remotely" by a web service
    (called CA) for some processing. The two (CD and CA) are deployed on different
    WLS8.1SP1 domains. CD is currently deployed as an EJB jar file (cd.jar) whereas
    CA is part of an EAR file and is deployed as an application. We ran into the necessity
    of making CD as part of EAR (much like CA). However, as part of the CA package,
    there is currently an initialization class (we're using a servlet) that saves
    some entries in JNDI for both CA and CD. We want to mimic the functionality of
    that class in CD when we create the ear for it.
    I just ran into some settings that could be made in the weblogic-application.xml
    deployment descriptor as follows:
    <startup-class>startup class name</startup-class>
    We're hoping this can help us mimic CA's init process. However, we need to pass
    that class some parameters upon load (which in the case of CA was done by using
    the <init-param> in its web.xml). We came across the following tag:
    <application-param>
         <param-name>someparam</param-name>
         </param-value>somevalue</param-value>
    </application-param
    However, we have the following questions:
    1. How do we make the startup class fetch those param values at load time? (for
    CA, the servlet was using the appPropLoc = getInitParameter("someparam") in its
    init method
    2. We needed to perform the remote lookup from CA to CD. Would enclosing CD in
    an EAR affect our ability to do so? If so, then how do we go about doing that?
    Thanks much,
    Sami

    Hi sami,
    Enclosing the EJB (CD) in an EAR file is not going to stop you from Remotely accessing
    it.
    As CD and CA are in different application package and moreover in different JVM,
    you have to package the interface classes as client jar with in CA for type casting.

    We have resolved the first part of this problem by using a startup servlet
    much

    2 below.
    Please provide some feedback.

  • Custom deployment descriptor

    Hi there
    We are in the process of deploying our standard J2EE EAR file to
    WebLogic 9.2 MP2. The EAR file does not contain weblogic custom
    deployment descriptors (e.g.: weblogic.xml) but only standard DDs (e.g.:
    web.xml)
    I have some doubts about resources mapping and I'd like to get some help
    from experienced WL users.
    Basically our EAR file is composed of an EJB module and a WEB module.
    Each module declares some references such as:
    WEB.XML snippet
    <resource-ref>
    <description>DataSource for partition 'default'</description>
    <res-ref-name>jdbc/Datasource</res-ref-name>
    <res-type>javax.sql.DataSource</res-type>
    <res-auth>Container</res-auth>
    <res-sharing-scope>Shareable</res-sharing-scope>
    </resource-ref>
    Now the questions:
    1) Is there a way to map the resources during the deployment, using the
    console? This is the way followed by WebSphere and Oracle AS, for
    example. If this is not possible, should I provide a Deployment Plan for
    that EAR file? I tried to provide the xml Deployment Plan generated by
    weblogic.PlanGenerator utility together with the EAR file while
    deploying the app, but no luck. It seems the Deployment Plan should be
    provided in a jar file. Is that correct?
    2) If the previous options are not possible, how can I create the custom
    deployment descriptor? Is there an "Assembly Tool" that imports the
    standard EAR and then export the custom EAR file with the custom
    deployment descriptors correctly generated?
    Thank you a lot in advance.

    A deployment plan is external to the ear/jar file.
    It is probably easiest to deploy the application with the console, and then
    use the console to change the values you want. It will automatically
    generate a deployment plan for you.

  • Ejb accessing the deployment descriptor

    My ejb needs to be able to access the deployment descriptor to retrieve some user information needed to connect to a web service. What is the best way to do this? I know servletts can do this, and if necessary, I could have my servlet retrieve the info and pass it to the bean, but I was hoping to avoid this.
    Thanks
    Matt

    Well, sure I think that is easy. In your <entity> or <session> deployment descriptor you can have:
    <env-entry>
    <env-entry-name>WebServiceLogins</env-entry-name>
    <env-entry-type>java.lang.String</env-entry-type>
    <env-entry-value>su, dan, bob, steve, richard, suzie, carla</env-entry-value>
    </env-entry>
    <env-entry>
    <env-entry-name>WebServicePasswords</env-entry-name>
    <env-entry-type>java.lang.String</env-entry-type>
    <env-entry-value>drs100, vfdds2, ajk14, pass411, richard23, q4lty, uo738ww1</env-entry-value>
    </env-entry>
    Then in your intial-context in your session or entity ejb.....
    InitialContext ic = new InitialContext();
    String logins = (String) ic.lookup("java:comp/env/WebServiceLogins");
    String passwords = (String) ic.lookup("java:comp/env/WebServicePasswords");

  • JaxRPC deployment descriptor

    Hi,
    I have a deployment descriptor for Axis, and I need to convert this into a jaxrpc deployment descriptor.
    Here is the wsdd for Axis:
    <handler name="securityHandler" type="java:handler.securityHandler"/>
    <service name="my-WS-A" provider="java:RPC">
    <requestFlow>
    <handler type="securityHandler"/>
    </requestFlow>
    <responseFlow>
    <handler type="securityHandler"/>
    </responseFlow>
    <parameter name="allowedMethods" value="*"/>
    <parameter name="className" value="myWSA.MyWSA"/>
    </service>
    I read something about handlerChains with jaxrpc, is this what I need? If anybody has any advice, I'd be happy to hear it.
    Thanks,
    Dylan

    I read something about handlerChains with jaxrpc, is
    this what I need? If anybody has any advice, I'd be
    happy to hear it.Yep. Here's an article that summarizes the handler chains:
    http://java.sun.com/webservices/docs/1.5/jaxrpc/jaxrpc-tools.html
    You can add a <handlerChains> element to your config.xml file for server or client (if you build server code with wscompile first you need a config.xml), or add it to the jaxrpc-ri.xml file. The element has sub elements of type chain, and you can specify that the chain is for client or server.
    Inside the chain you list the handlers and their class names. Optional attributes are SOAP roles for the handler chain, and properties and understood headers for the handlers. These properties and headers are passed into the handler's init(HandlerConfig) method at runtime.
    Probably the fastest way to get handler chain help is to send email to the jax-rpc users email list from java.net if you'd like to join the group. More information is here:
    https://jax-rpc.dev.java.net/

  • How to edit deployment descriptor in weblogic 9.0?

    Hi ,
    I need to edit the values of certain environment variables mentioned in the deployment descriptor of a ejb module.
    In weblogic 7,its a straight forward method in which we have the option to edit the deployment descriptor in weblogic console.
    But I'm not sure how the same can be done in weblogic 9.0.
    Please guide me..!!! its urgent...
    Thanks,
    Smita

    If you want to edit the actual deployment descriptor (ie as a developer) than using any text editor or using an IDE like WebLogic Workshop/Eclipse etc would be the way to go.
    If you're trying to change values in an already deployed application, then configuration and tunables can be changed in the admin console. These write the changes to a separate file called a deployment plan. It allows you to change performance and environment settings without disturbing the original EAR file.

  • WAR files (Tomcat) and deployment descriptor

    Hello,
    I am currently writing a small utility to package a web application for Jakarta Tomcat as a .war file.
    I have a functional version that imports the deployment descriptor web.xml, but I'd like to make it possible for the user to edit or create from scratch that file. I use the DOM API to make a logical model of my web.xml, but the parser won't accept the external dtd definition :
    <!DOCTYPE web-app
    PUBLIC "-//Sun Microsystems, Inc.//DTD Web Application 2.2//EN"
    "http://java.sun.com/j2ee/dtds/web-app_2_2.dtd">
    Here is my parser :
    private void parse(File in) {
    try {
    DocumentBuilderFactory factory = DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance();
    factory.setNamespaceAware(true);
    factory.setValidating(true);
    DocumentBuilder builder = factory.newDocumentBuilder();
    document = builder.parse(in); (((*)))
    catch (...)
    }//parse
    ---------------------------------------------It seems I have no further controls on DocumentBuilder and DocumentBuilderFactory.
    The builder.parse call generates this exception :
    java.net.NoRouteToHostException: Operation timed out: no further information
    at java.net.PlainSocketImpl.socketConnect(Native Method)
    at org.apache.crimson.parser.Resolver.resolveEntity(Resolver.java:389)The problem seems to be located in DOM's DefaultHandler entity resolver, but I don't ee clearly what to do.
    Thanks for helping.

    I already tried every combination of settings with
    DocumentBuilderFactory.setNamespaceAware
    DocumentBuilderFactory.setValidating

  • Deployment Descriptor in Oracle 11g

    Hi all,
    in oracle 10g i used to create deployment descriptor property in jedeveloper and set value for it,so that i can change the value in the console at run time. Like wise i am not aware how to do the same in the oracle 11g. pls help me to sort this.

    Hi Kaushik,
    Do you mean preference properties which you could set in bpel.xml file and then can access using ora:getPreference() ?
    If so, then these properties can be defined now in composite.xml file.

  • SQL: Having problems passing a date value to dynamic SQL

    SQL Version 2008 (not R2)
    Problem:  1)  I'm getting the following error message when trying to run the sql code below.
    SQL "Messages" Returned when running code:
    Msg 206, Level 16,
    State 2, Procedure uspxc_WAWP_10_Get_VPData, Line 0
    Operand type clash: int is incompatible with date
    Loaded VP DATA for Month: 20121201
    Problem Code Line:
    SET @dynamicSQL = 'EXEC ' + @StoredProcedureName + ' ' + @DEVModeYN + ', ' + CAST(@WIPMonth as varchar);
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.  I've spent several hours trying to get around this error.
    Full Code:
    ALTER PROCEDURE [dbo].[uspxi_XIUD_98_DataConversionGET_VP_WIPJobHistory] (@DEVModeYN nchar(1) = 'D', @WIPMonth Date)
    AS
    BEGIN
     SET NOCOUNT ON;
     DECLARE @returnCode AS INT ,
       @dynamicSQL AS VARCHAR(8000),
       @msg as varchar(60),
       @DEVModeYN nchar(1) = 'D',
       @WIPMonth date = '20121201',
       @StoredProcedureName AS VARCHAR(60)
     SET @returnCode = 0
     SET @StoredProcedureName = 'uspxc_WAWP_10_Get_VPData'
    -- Check to see if @StoredProcedureName exists in the database.
    IF EXISTS(SELECT name FROM sys.procedures WHERE name = @StoredProcedureName)
     BEGIN
      -- RUN SP to Import VP Data for each WIPMonth parameter value
      SET @dynamicSQL = 'EXEC ' + @StoredProcedureName + ' ' + @DEVModeYN + ', ' + CAST(@WIPMonth as varchar);
      SELECT @dynamicSQL;
      -- RUN stored procedure for WIP Month
      EXEC (@dynamicSQL);
      SET @returnCode = 0;
      SELECT @returnCode;
      SET @msg = 'Loaded VP DATA for Month: ' + @WIPMonth;
      PRINT @msg;
      GoTo SPEND
     END
     ELSE
      SET @returnCode = 1;
      SET @msg = 'NO DATA IMPORTED for Month: ' + CAST(@WIPMonth as varchar(10))
      PRINT @msg
    SPEND:
    END
    Bob Sutor

    When you work with dynamic SQL, you should never build a full SQL string by concatenating values, because this is more difficult to get right and also has problems with SQL injection and efficient use of the SQL Server cache.
    So the correct way to do this in dynamic SQL would be:
    SET @dynamicSQL = 'EXEC ' + quotename(@StoredProcedureName)  '@DEVModeYN, @WIPMonth';
    EXEC sp_executesql @SQL, N'DEVModeYN nchar(1), @WIPMonth date',
                       @DEVModeYN, @WIPMonth
    A lot easier and cleaner! (Note that the variable @SQL must be declared as nvarchar.)
    ...however, in this particular case, this is still an overkill, and there is no need for dynamic SQL at all. EXEC accepts a variable for the procedure name, so:
    EXEC @StoredProcedureName @DEVModeYN, @WIPMonth
    ...but it does not stop there. You can make all these changes, but you will get the same error. To wit, you get the error on Line 0, which means that it is the call to the procedure that fails. Apparently, you are passing an integer value, when you were
    supposed to pass a date. Maybe you forgot to put the dates in quotes?

  • Passing SELECT-OPTIONS value to Function Module

    Hi,
    I need to pass select-options value to a function module.
    Code is like the following:
    SELECT-OPTIONS seltab FOR object-type.
    CALL FUNCTION 'Z_MY_FM'
          EXPORTING
            sel_tab         = seltab
         IMPORTING
            result_tab     = it_result
    I have found a similar problem in the SDN forum: How to pass select-options parameter to FM?
    However, that could not help me much in solving my problem.
    So far I have tried to created a structure in DDIC with the following components for the select-options:
    SIGN - BAPISIGN
    OPTION - BAPIOPTION
    LOW - ZBWOBJECTTYPE (my type)
    HIGH - ZBWOBJECTTYPE (my type)
    and subsequently a table type for this structure which is specified in the "Import" tab of my function module.
    Unfortunately, when I ran the program a runtime exception occured (CALL_FUNCTION_CONFLICT_TYPE).
    Could anyone please help me on this issue?
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Joon Meng

    Hello Joon,
    CALL FUNCTION 'Z_MY_FM'
          EXPORTING
            sel_tab         = seltab
         IMPORTING
            result_tab     = it_result
    You have defined SELTAB as a SELECT-OPTION.
    So when you pass only SELTAB, the header line is transferred to the FM. When you pass SELTAB[] the whole table(range) is passed.
    It is similar to the concept of an internal table with header line.
    Hope i am clear.
    Anyways how have you defined result_tab and sel_tab ?

  • Passing select-options value in method

    How to pass select-options value in method ?
    Example:
    Select-options: carrid for spfli-carrid.
    class cl_myclass implementation.
    select  carrid connid from
    spfli where carrid in carrid.
    endclass.

    Hello Anee
    The coding of this functionality is quite simple:
    REPORT zmy_report.
    DATA:  go_myclass   TYPE REF TO zcl_myclass,
               gd_repid         TYPE syst-repid.
    PARAMETERS:
      p_bukrs   ...
    SELECT-OPTIONS:
      o_kunnr  ...
    START-OF-SELECTION.
      gd_repid = syst-repid.
      CREATE OBJECT go_myclass
        EXPORTING
          id_calling_program = gd_repid.
    And that's how your CONSTRUCTOR method should look like:
    METHOD constructor.  " IMPORTING parameter id_calling_program
    CALL FUNCTION 'RS_REFRESH_FROM_SELECTOPTIONS'
      EXPORTING
        CURR_REPORT = id_calling_report
      TABLES
        SELECTION_TABLE = me->mt_selopts.
    " NOTE: define mt_selopts as instance attribute of table type RSPARAMS_TT
    ENDMETHOD.
    Finally you have to extract the parameter and select-options from MT_SELOPTS.

  • How to specify the security policy "Allow access to everyone" for security role in Deployment descriptor

    Hi,
    I am migrating a web application from Websphere to Weblogic. The web application has a security role defined in web.xml (Use LDAP for authentication).
    security-role>
            <description>Authenticated</description>
            <role-name>Authenticated</role-name>
        </security-role>
    This role is mapped to a special subject "All authenticated user in appliation realm" in WAS.
    In weblogic, I have the following setting in weblogic.xml
    <wls:security-role-assignment>
            <wls:role-name>Authenticated</wls:role-name>
            <wls:externally-defined />
        </wls:security-role-assignment>
    And after deploy the application, have to manually add a security role and add the security policy "Allow access to everyone" to this role.
    I am wondering if this setting can be specified in  for example weblogic.xml so just deploy web applicaiton using deployment descriptor, and I don't need write script to do that .
    Thanks

    Hi,
    You need to have Back End support to achieve this. In Back End you need to create two groups . You need to know what joins has to be made for which group (which is more important) and also make session variable for the userrole (with SQL supporting it). In the BMM layer, we need to put the security join conditions in the 'where clause'.
    And make a common report. User loggin in with the respective userid will have userrole and joins assigned in the Back end. And they will be viewing the report according to their access.
    Hope this will solve your problem.
    Regards
    MuRam
