Passing filter to LUMIRA

Hi guys,
after building an own xs app, where I´m analyzing SAP HANA Calculation Views, I want to consume those views with LUMIRA 1.19. I´m pre-filtering the View within my app before I open the view within Lumira. So the problem is to pass these filters to Lumira. Otherwise I need to filter it again. Any thoughts?
Regards, Christoph.

  • How can I stop my lock-in results from oscillating. The low pass filter is creating artificial noise

I am using the lock in amplifier kit and sort of sending some of the parameters manually. I choose manually the low pass filter.
Now I find strange behavior depending on the filter I choose.
The lock in results oscillates in time, the higher the dB roll off the longer it seems to take to stabilize. Also the frequency of the oscillations becomes lower. This I don't find too weird, the problem is that it just won't stop.
If I use a small time constant and there is no real change in my signal I can easily follow the shape of the the oscillations.
If I use a larte time constant it seems there is an average over the oscillation and then it looks as if it was noise.
All the time my signal has not changed one bit.
This is very anoying since it produces about 20-300microV of noise. (peak to peak amplitude of the oscillations)
So far I've gotten the best results with the IIR (5dig) with 40dB roll off and order 1
Does anyone have an idea of what to do?

    Hi BlankaFlux,
could you maybe provide us with a more specific example? What kinds of filters have you tried?

  • Looking for a "color pass filter"..Remove all colors but 1

Looking for a "color pass filter"..Remove all colors but 1 or 2.
FCP6 doesn't seem to have one.
Anyone heard of one that works really well & that is fast to use?
    steve

    Jim,
You are totally missing the point. I am an Adobe Premiere Pro instructor. I have been for 5 years. I added my 1st FCP system 2 weeks ago & am experiencing typical transitional curiosities as all who switch to other platforms & editing apps do.
PP has a color pass filter. I was curious to see if FCP did. That sounds logical to me:) If posting the question about the possibility of there being a color pass plugin bothers you, well , that has to do with you.
If you take a moment to read the prior correspondence, you might see my point.
I think we can bury the hatchet now:)

  • Passing filter values from column formula in OBIEE 10g

    Hi,
I am trying to pass filter value from the column LY Spend YTD columns where we have a filter option and passing the year filter 2013 as below.
    FILTER("Fact - Purchasing - Invoice"."LY Spend YTD" USING (Time."Year" = '2013'))
My goal behind doing this is, we have a filter already present for the whole criteria on the year which is 2012.
But specifically for this column i dont want to pass the year 2012 to it, Instead I want to pass 2013 to it. But I am not succeding the result is blank.
Please suggest and let me know if further understanding is needed.

    Hi Srini
    Thanks for you reply.
I cannot do that way because some measures are satisfying with year 2012 and displaying the data and other measure are satisfying with 2013.
I am working on LY Spend YTD, LY spend YTD - 1, Spend YTD and Year ago spend.
So thats the reason I have thought that way of passing the filter in column formula irrespective of criteria filter.
    Please suggest.

  • High pass filter don't work

    i used the following setting for the testing;
    input signal 1: 2khz sinewave, amplitude 1V
    input signal 2: 50Hz sinewave, amplitude 10V
the above 2 signals are added together and fed into a filter. my objective is to remove signal 1(1V sinewave). i've tried some filter but it don't seem to work. for the attached vi, i used high pass filter. the filter don't work.
i tried to view the frequency component of the signal before and after the filter and found out that both signals pass through the filter.
    1. why isn't the 50Hz signal being filtered off?
    i had the following values:
    before filter after filter
    50Hz ==> 3Hz
    2kHz ==> 120Hz
the filter seem to scaled down the frequency compon
ent instead of filtering off the 50Hz.
    2. why is this so, how can i solve this problem?
    3. what should i take note when setting the parameters of the filter?

You might try increasing the number of FIR filter taps. Also, would an IIR filter work for you? I recoded your example using the waveform filtering VIs that were developed for LabVIEW 6i. Please look at the number of taps for the FIR filter, and the PassBand and StopBand frequencies. Also, notice the IIR filter's superior suppression of the low frequency sinusoid.

  • Decimation( Does decimation.vi have a low pass filter?)

    Hello,
I have a question regarding decimation function (decimation(continuous).vi) in labview. Does it have a low pass filter to take care of aliasing, if yes is it a zero phase filter. Basically I am looking for some thing which can decimate 20KHz sampled signals to 5KHz.
    Thanks,

Depends on your LabVIEW version and installed toolkits.
The Digital Filter Design Toolkit  has a decimation VI that includes a LP AA filter.  Open the LabVIEW Help and search for 'decimation' and 'filter' to see what tools are available.

  • Design a 1st order Butterworth low pass filter

Hey there... Really hope that u guys can guide me to solve these questions.. =)
Design a first order Butterworth low pass filter with cut-off frequency
fo = 20 kHz and the gain K = 1. You will need to simulate the circuit
using Multisim and shows that the circuit meet the required
    specification.
i)Show all calculations steps and assumption made in your circuit design.
    (DONE!)
ii)Show the circuit schematic with all the resistor and capacitor values labelled.(attachment)
iii)Perform frequency response analysis on the circuit and obtain the
bode diagram. The bode diagram should show the voltage gain (Vout /
Vin) in dB vs the signal frequency (0 to 100 MHz). Does the -3dB
    cut-off frequency match the desired cut-off frequency fo = 20 kHz ?
Explain. From the graph, estimate the roll-off rate. (attachment)
I inserted my schematics and graph.. am i right?

Just an update for the community, in version 11 and 12 of Multisim, there are some circuit wizards available which can make designing some basic circuits easier. To access the filter wizard, go to Tools -> Circuit Wizard -> Filter Wizard. You can put in the parameters and Multisim will automatically generate the filter for you.
    Hope this helps.

    Hi, Graham,

Sorry, but I can't recognize any advantages of IMAQ LowPass on the DualCore system. See attachment. When this VI running, then I have approx. 50% CPU load, and no any effect when I set 2 cores with IMAQ Multi-Core Options. This take always approx. 60 - 70 ms for 5x5 low pass on 1024x1024 8 bit image.
    I'm missing something?

  • Bessel low pass filter and sampling frequency

I have a 20 kHz sine wave signal, use the Bessel LowPass filter.
The input parameters for the filter are as followings: sampling freq: 204800, Order: 8, low cutoff freq: 30000.
The filtered X has a much lower amplitudue compared to to the input signal.
If I change the sampling frequency to 80000, it seems the filtered X is better.
Can you please explain the behavior of the filter?

    Thank you for the reply!
I attached a test vi, which generates a sine wave and calculate its RMS (basic DC/RMS). The sine wave is then passed to a low pass filter, a new RMS is calculated from the filtered signal.
    Test case 1:
    Frequency = 10 kHz, Amplitude = 4, Sampling Info: Fs = 80 k, #s = 1000; Low pass cutoff frequency = 30 k; Filter sampling frequency = 80k.
The signal RMS  = 2.8284; Filtered signal RMS = 2.71.
    Test case 2:
Same setup as case 1, change the Filter sampling frequency to 204800.
The signal RMS  = 2.8284; Filtered signal RMS = 2.4688.
    Test case 3:
    Frequency = 20 kHz, Amplitude = 4, Sampling Info: Fs = 80 k, #s = 8000; Low pass cutoff frequency = 30 k; Filter sampling frequency = 80k.
The signal RMS  = 2.8284; Filtered signal RMS = 2.21.
    Test case 4:
same setup as case 3, change the sampling frequency to 204800.
The signal RMS  = 2.8284; Filtered signal RMS = 1.5369
Can you please why increasing the sampling frequency will get lower RMS value?
    Thanks.

  • What does the Low-Pass filter do (for dummies)

    Dear colleagues,
I'm about to encode a lot of content for DVD using Apple Compressor Vers 3.5.2. This project calls for 2.0 Stereo as well as 5.1 surround. I am wondering if I should check or un-check the Low-Pass Filter for the Full Bandwidth Channels for the 2.0 stereo track.
    Same question for the 5.1...
In case it's important to note, the LFE track of the 5.1 mix has low frequency effects only and nothing else.
The explanation in the manual seems confusing to me. Would someone be kind enough to help me determine the correct setting?
    Thanks in advance!
    Xavier

    Hi David,
Thanks for your reply. I think I'll just turn OFF this filter for both my 2.0 Stereo and 5.1 Surround tracks.
In the name of proper communication however something still doesn't make sense. The compressor manual states the following:
    Full Bandwidth Channels
Apply Low-Pass Filter: Select this checkbox to turn on a low-pass filter with a cutoff near the available audio bandwidth that is applied to the main input channels. If the digital signal fed to the main input channels does not contain information above the available audio bandwidth, you can turn off this filter. Compressor will automatically determine the available bandwidth.
Question 1: What/which is the available audio bandwidth?
Question 2: Why would anyone want to apply a Low-Pass filter to a FULL bandwidth channel? I would think that since these are FULL bandwidth channels you would want to maintain the full range of frequencies. No?

  • Sample Frequency of Low Pass filter VI is ambiguous

I am having trouble understanding how the Sampling Frequency of the Low Pass Filter actually impacts the function buried within. The information passed in is an array with no relavance to time. How does the function actually sample this array of data at a frequency?

I doubt that they actually build a waveform. Here is my guess: By defining a sample frequency they can get the sampling interval dt as you indicated.  By defining a sampling frequency the cutoff frequencies can be scaled to frequency units (Hz), making the VI easier to use.

  • Low pass filter of DAQ USB 6255

    Hi there
I am using USB 6255 data acquisition board. The cutoff frequency of the internal low pass filter is 1.7 MHz, therefore, the background noise with frequencies below 1.7 MHz cannot be eliminated. The multiple channel signals I am measuring have 10 KHz frequency and the amplitude from 2 mV to 20 mV, but the accurate measurement cannot be achieved even I set the AI measurement range is 100 mV. Could you please guide me to add a extra analogue or digital low pass filter and keep the fast response time if possible? Thank you.

    Hi Jiabin,
Are you using LabVIEW to record your acquisition? If so you can use our 'Filter express vi' to achieve this. The configuration window is shown below:

  • Low pass filter (PXI 4472)

    Hi,
I would like to know whether the PXI4472 module has a built-in low pass filter ?? If yes, can you send me the specfication for that filter?? Also, does the the SCXI 1125 support Vrms = 2500V isolation ??

    Hello,
The PXI-4472 has a antialias filter which limits the bandwidth of the signal it can represent. The SCXI-1125 has +-300 Vrms of working isolation per channel. The information regarding the PXI-4472 filters and the SCXI isolation specifications may be found at NI Product Manuals.
Let me know if you have any further questions. For direct questions regarding the PXI-4472, you will be better off posting a new question to the DSA discussion forum.

  • Low Pass Filter Counter Input Compact DAQ

    Hello,
I need to put a 10kHz Low pass filter on a counter input.
    I have a CDAQ 9178
and a 9421 Digital Input module
Acording to the documentation and my own experience I can't enable the filter on the Digital input card.
Is there another way to do this?  I need to filter the signal in hardware.
    Thanks
    Dan

Your filter might work, however it is build to filter power lines, with current rating 6A and powerline voltage. You pay a lot for a box with screw terminals and a lot of copper and high rated capacitors.
Have you tried a simple RC lowpass (costs less than 50 cent, even when purchased in a pharmacy ) ? R=1500Ohm, C=10nF gives a coarse 10kHz first order lowpass. The C fits between the ground and input terminals of your DAQ, the R in the signal line to the input.
    Output impedance of your source?
If you explain more of your application, type of signal, we might find other solutions.
