Passing filters to hyperlinks in BI Publisher-Obiee 11g integrated report

Hi,
I've a report requirement to build a BIP report in integration with OBIEE.
In my dashboard, I've a dashboard prompt, obiee reports and a BIP report.
BIP report contains hyperlinks (created in template builder) which direct me to the obiee report pages.
Now, when u apply the prompts, BIP report filters the data accordingly and displays it in the same page. (OBIEE reports also gets filtered accordingly).
After this, when I click on the hyperlinks it takes me to the obiee page which is NOT filtered according to the prompt.
So I would like to know how do I use the filters in these links?
Can I please get some help on how to make this work? This is an urgent requirement!

Hi,
You can try these steps
On the BI Publisher 11.1.1.5, Go to Administration --> System Maintenance --> Server Configuration. Under the catalog heading,Test Connection. If the connection is successful, then click on the button Upload to Bi Presentation Catalog".
After the above step you should be able to see your folder under catalog.

BI Publisher (Obiee 11g) Scheduled jobs start randomly after services restarting

Hi everybody,
I've a problem with scheduled jobs on BI Publisher that start randomly after server restarting.
For example if there's a job scheduled every day at 8.00 am it works fine until the server is not restarted but when I restart it next job running start at 9.28 am (it is an example because the real start time is very unpredictable).
In my case bi publisher is integrated with obiee 11g (11.1.1.6.2) and I've scheduled jobs with administrative user (weblogic). For this user I've set the Bi Publisher Preferences (report locale = Italiano-Italia, Report Time Zone = GMT +1:00) from obiee analytics user account preferencies.
Can anyone have this problem too and help me?

These are not helpful. The first link is to OBIEE 10g and the second is just an install guide. I am having the same issue with BI Publisher returning java.lang.NullPointerException in OBIEE 11g. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks,

OBIEE 11g - Integrating via external corporate website to OBIEE

Unusual challenge, our we offer a hosted application (SaaS) where our users are authenticated on our application. Recently, we've invested in OBIEE 11g and have successfully deployed recommended Oracle Enterprise Deployment. We have a custom security solution (user permissions in Oracle tables, not LDAP), and have not implemented Oracle Identity Mgmt and don't plan to.
We would like to use GoURL / Action Framework to access Report content, dashboard content, content as port lets embedded in an app dashboard to an iFrame.
My Question: can we configure OBIEE to accept just "username" without password in a trusted login scenario? we are trying not to expose password in URL (encrypted or clear text).
We done an exhaustive search to review GoUrl, web service / soap calls, reviewing impersonator passcode techniques (everyone having same pad in initialization block), etc.

OBIEE 11g Recent Reports in a custom dashboard

Hi,
I have a requirement to put "Recent Report" of a user in a Custom built Dashboard. I know this functionality is available in OBIEE 11g home page. But our requirement is to put the same sections in few Custom Dashboards. Please let me know if this is possible

Ya i think it is comming due to null data, just restrict the data by specifying not null prompt or specific condition in the associate column Isnull(attribte,0)

OBIEE 11G PDF reports not aligned

Hi,
When exporting a detail report from OBIEE 11G dashboard to PDF the alignment of the reports gets altered. Is there a way to control it? The Excel output seems to be OK, but the same report when exported to PDF gets misaligned. I do not have Adobe writer, only reader installed.

Do this:
1) In the Section properties of your pivot tables, (the finger that is in the big gray area of the pivot table), click on the finger, then "Additional Formatting options," and make the width 100%.
2) In the same way, for Tables, click on Table properties, "Additional Formatting Options," and make the width 100%.
This will make sure that everything aligns to the same width.

Issue passing dynamic paramters using GO URL in OBIEE 11g

I am trying to implement a GO URL and pass 6 dynamic paramters to the target dashboard page.
The issue is that, When I navigate from the column which is having GO URL, It is just passing the first parameter among the 6 parameters.

To avoid encoding problems use POST method. Here is js example for OBIEE 10g, but I bellieve you will find similar XML syntax in 11g.

Issue with Excel output in BI Publisher(OBIEE 11g)

Hi All,
I have designed my BIP report in RTF Layout, it contains pivot table( with one column and one row and a measure column). when i export the report in Excel output format, i have 3 issues.
i) I have fixed the pivot table row height as 13.75 pixels in RTF Layout but when i export it into Excel output it comes with 15 pixels as row height.
ii) In layout i have Arial 8 as font formatting, in Excel output it comes with calibri 11 (when i double click on the cell it shows Arial 8).
iii) Pivot table has month Column which grows horizontally when i run the report ie. Jan, Feb,..Dec.In Excel it has to show each month with a single column is my requirement like

But it shows like below, each month occupied multiple columns; it affect the report structure.

Try using substring instead of substr. You may want to try LOGO1 and LOGO2 as texts first just to ensure that the condition is working.

How to use CLOB in OBIEE 11g (11115) Reporting

Hello All,
I have a CLOB object. I need to use that in the report.
It just has text only. I defied it in RPD as LONGVARCHAR or OBJECT but it did not work out.
I tried using evaluate with TO_CLOB but i am getting below error any time
inconsistent datatypes: expected - got CLOB at OCI call OCIStmtExecute. [nQSError: 17010] SQL statement preparation failed.
Please give me a clue how to use a CLOB column in report.
I see a rittmen blog which is using as LOOKUP but i dont have that option either.
Please let me know what wrong i am doing.

OBIEE 11g Union Report Issue

Hi all,
Did one any of you started development work on 11g? If so have you created Union reports in 11g?
I am facing two issues afte creating Union reports.
1.I am unable to sort the columns. (Report is automatically sorted according to alphabatical order)
2. I am unable to create New calculation Item.

OBIEE 11g- iBOT Reports not showing up in IE browser

OBIEE 11g Agent Report one env to another

Hi Guys,
we currently moved our PROD server to 11.1.1.7.1 (Fresh installation and just moved the catalog and RPD) it is working fine.
But in the old server we scheduled more than 100 agents but in the new server we are not getting get any alert....
so can you please advice me on how to enable all the Scheduled reports in current server at once instead of manually enabling agents one by one....
we have tried with single agent it is working fine but we need to run all the old agents.

You didn't say anything about old server like 10g or 11g. First of all the agents will not get disabled automatically from one version to another (11g) how did u migrated ..it should be archive or un-archive or through catalog manager?

Open BIPlatform schema and run below query to see how many are enabled if you have any 0 records update the flag to 1 and see whether agents are enabled (testing purpose do it for 1)

1) Is it required to install BI Publisher separately or is it already provided integrated in fusion middleware in OBIEE 11G.
2) What is the process to integrate BI Publisher with OBIEE 11G.

Configration of LDAP in OBIEE 11g

Client has asked me to de the LDAP configuration. I will be doing first time. I have gone through the different posts the information is enough to do the same.
But i have one question on this. It might be funny for all of you :-) but it keep meaning for me.
There are few parameter need to be passed while configuration.
Base DN: Generally we give the value like. (CN=Users,DC=venkatad,DC=venkatlap,DC=com) , My question here is: The value for CN and DC will be provided from the client(or any specific value) or we can put any thing.
Bind DN: (CN=Administrator,CN=Users,DC=venkatad,DC=venkatlap,DC=com) here also my questing is same.
Bind password: is it generic? or any LDAP server releted?
port: 389 (Default LDAP port without SSL) 389 is the default, without SSL. So here my question is: If there is SSL then what would be the value for Port no.
And lastly could you please let me know what are the different parameters i need to ask from the client for LDAP authentication configuration.

2) LDAP Server IP
3) LDAP Server Port no
4) User Path structure (Object )
ex.: like user and group(object of the user and group canonical name) path structure (Path : Functional user ID)
my group info got it from LDAP team
GROUP:
CN=deva,OU=SG,OU=OBIEE,OU=Groups,DC=reg9,DC=Hex1,DC=OPM,DC=com
5) Group Path Structure (Object)
like e.x: (Path : Functional usergroup)
6) Access required for our functional ID: deva
1) ldifd.tex files ---> permission required for our functional IDdeva
2) Windows Active Directory access required for our functional ID(deva)
3) Access requred for functional id user (deva) to properties of the user in AD
