Passing Include Param to theIncluded page

Hello,
I am new to Java and JSF. I have been working on this problem for the past few days, but couldn't figure it out.
I have an include in my main page which is..
 <f:subview id="searchEmpl">
 <jsp:include page="/jsp/search.jsp" />
 <f:attribute name="handler" value="#{employeeSearch}" />
 </f:subview>
I am trying to make this include page to access different resources. so In the include page I have something like for one of my radio buttons
value="#{handler.searchCriteria.searchBy}"
I am not even sure whether this is possible. Any advice, I really appreciate it.

First of all, the f:subview tag should rather be placed in the included page than in the calling page.
According to your specific question, best way is to define kind of a global bean and set the handler as a property of that bean and let the include page access that bean.

I was wondering, if there is a possibility of passing request parameters from one page to another page in EBS ( E-Business Suite).
I tried using the following
a) PageContext.putParamater ( "MyParamater", "ParamaterValue")
b) I addded the above line of code by extending an page controller of the OAF page and personalized the page
When I am trying to retrieve the value by getParameter() in the next page. I am also unable to get access to the parameter in the next page.
I am trying the above code while trying to create expenses in I-Expense module...I would like to pass the ReportHeaderId from one page to another page for customization purposes. I Am not able to get ReportHeaderId in the ReviewPAge...There are no Business Objects in the Review page...hence trying the putParameter idea.

What is the source of the parameter? If the source is a VO, you can use the method I have specified in my previous post regarding updating the button properties. For example, you can include the param in the destination URL of the button as such:
OA.jsp?page=/xyz/oracle/apps/.../myPG&retainAM=Y&addBreadCrumb=Y&myParam={@ParamSource}
where ParamSource is an attribute from a VO.
You can get this value via oapagecontext.getParameter()
Can you please give details as to the source of your params (param-1, param-2, etc.). This will help in providing you suggestions.

How to pass date parameter from one page to other in BSP application

Hello gurus,
In my BSP application i have taken an input field and made its type "date" and its value also of type date and have set showhelp .
Now once a particular date is given as an input i want to pass its value to next page. And in next page i have to fire a query based on the date entered in previous page...
Now my prb is that my date value is not getting passed to the next page.
I have used
navigation->set_parameter( name = 'BEGDA' value = BEGDA ).
to pass date parameter.....still parameter is not getting passed.
plz help me with this.....

By truncation i mean the entire date becomes 10 char including the ' . ' eg(06.12.2006).
so with begda being 8chars it takes my date as 06.12.200
as a result my query is not getting executed.
now i have tried to use a FM 'CONVERT_DATE_TO_INTERN_FORMAT'.
in my 1st page but still in 2nd page its giving me following error.
The data that was read could not be written to the specified target field during a SELECT access. Either the conversion is not supported for the type of the target field, or the target field is too short to accept the value, or the data is not in the appropriateformat for the target field.

My Requirement is to create a ADF page based on the Human Task with the Default payload. In that page when the user presses the empid link field, It will show all the information related to the employee id in a separate page.
so ,
1. i have created the View Object based on the Query with where clause
2. Create a bind variable for the where clause
3.Created s new page for displaying the employee details
4.drag and drop the both the pages (employee details, default page created by human task) into the adfcconfig file.
5.drag and drop the Execute with params into the adfcconfig file
6.wire it from human task page --> execute with params--> Employee details page
7.change the employee field in that human task page to a link field.
8.drag and drop the set property listener to that employee field.
Testing
Enter the input values for the Web service, logging to the BPM worklist, double click that task .it is showing the details when I press the employee id it is not navigating to the employee details page.

How can I pass a value into a page fragment?
I am implementing four search screens. And the only thing different about them will be their backing bean.
So I’d like to do something like have four pages, each which retrieves its appropriate backing bean, sets that bean to a variable, and then includes a page fragment which contains the generic search page code (which will make use of that variable).
The code in the four pages would be something like this:

The following will work, assuming you are needing to access a managed bean:
Put this in the parent page:

Put this in the child, SearchPageBody.jsff:

Dynamic include file in JSP page

i have index.jsp , this page can include jsp
pages dynamically by passing the name of the page to be included to the
index page with out .jsp , so if i want to include page "code.jsp" i
put: .../index.jsp?page=code , this have to include code.jsp page

Pass multiple params to a popup window iChart

I have an irpt that has toggle buttons at the bottom of the page. When a person clicks a toggle button a new window opens, passes the param to an iChart and displays the chart. Currently, I am only passing one param. My queries (current page and ichart) have 4 param and I would like to know the correct syntax in passing multiple params.
Example:
var SelOption = ProductID

My first parm is "Histogram_QA_Moistures.irpt?ID="+ ProductID
I need to add...

Please show me the correct syntax to line all four of these param for strUrl.

It doesn't seem to be working. I am able to pass the first param with your code, but I noticed something that wasn't consistant in your code.
There wasn't an "=" after "&Operator" and "&Lot". Should there be?? I modified the code, but I still didn't get the results I was looking for. I should be able to pick only Line and run the chart and get only line data, but I get blank charts for everything but ProductID.

Lightwindow passing form variable to action page

Hi,
I have a form that is popup using lightwindow to allow users to fill out the form. For some reason, I couldn't get the form.variables to pass to the action page and insert into a database. Anyone has suggestions or ideas?

Pass parameters from JSP Dyn Page to WDJ Application

I am trying to pass parameters from my JSPDyn Page to WDJ Application.
I am using NWDS 7.1 EHP1
My code is :

This method is being called on click of a button.
hkparam is the parameter in question.
The JSPDyn page is an iView and the WDJ application is a page and both have been assigned to a role.
In the properties of the WDJ Page, I have removed DymanicParameter from "Do not Forward These Parameters To Web Dynpro" property.
However I am getting null as the value of hkparam in my WDJ application.
The code used is :
IWDRequest request = WDProtocolAdapter.getProtocolAdapter().getRequestObject();
       String param1= request.getParameter("hkparam");
What seems to be missing here.
Please help.

EPCM.doNavigate("ROLES:portal_content/Himanshu.Himanshu/TestDynUIApp?hkparam=Dmypass1123")
if the parameter is hkparam and the value to be passed is Dmypass1123. You need not change any design time property of the WD page, and WDProtocolAdapter should retrive the parameter.

Problem in passing data from one .jsp page to another .jsp page

i have a problem here
Actually i have 2 jsp pages. What im trying to do here is actually i want to pass data from the first jsp page to the second for updating
The first jsp page contains data that user wants to update in the form of table.

So this page displays the data that users wants to update plus one image button (edit button). So when user clicks this button, all the data in this page will be brought to the second .jsp page called updatePersonal for updating.
The problem here is that it is not displaying the existing data in the second .jsp page.
The second page basically contains forms
<INPUT TYPE="text" NAME="FirstName" maxlength="30" value = "<%=FirstName%>">
Can someone please help me. I really dont know what to do..How do i get the data displayed in the text field that is passed from the first .jsp page..thankx in advance

Having trouble passing multiple values to another page via a popup SQL report
I have two fields one called "descr" and another called "Met"
when I use the code below all works fine and the value of "descr" is passed

I have about 20 individual pages files that I would like to include in a single page document that contains them all. Can I do this and if so how?

I have 20 individual pages documents in about the same format I would like to include them into individual pages of b 20 plus page "page document"

Create a new blank document.
open the individual documents one by one.
In their thumbnails area, select the page's icon
copy it to the clipboard
Paste it in the thumbnail area of the new document.
Insert a page break at the document's end.
Repeat the process for every individual documents.

Can we include common buttons in Page template......

we are on the process of developing a product using ADF. Now we have implemented a page template. Most of our pages contain the common buttons like [SAVE,DELETE,UPDATE,CANCEL,PRINT].
I am entirely new to this area. Can anyone advise whether we can include this buttons in page template. How can we differentiate the actions from these buttons in each page. While including the page level validations whether this makes any performance impact compared to put buttons in each page seperately.

Pass values to OAF search page (View Purchase Order History)

I need to call a OAF page from a PO Approval Notification. I need to call page View Purchase Order History (func:ICX_PO_REVISIONS).
I am able to create the URL (using function FND_RUN_FUNCTION.get_run_function_url) and when I click on the link it opens the page fine, but it’s a page that contains simple search region and I need to populate the Operating Unit and PO Number fields (I can easily get from the PO) of the search fields, this will allow the user to just click the go button.
Is it possible using the function FND_RUN_FUNCTION.get_run_function_url and passing parameters (field values) or setting the URL to JSP:/OA_HTML/OA.jsp?OAFunc=ICX_PO_REVISIONS&akRegionApplicationId=177&addBreadCrumb=Y&CorePO=Y and then passing the parameters?
How would you achieve this if possible, call the page and populate the search field values? It does not seem to work, I have been able to pass paramaters to an OAF page that does not contain a simple search region to return results.

What I found is there are 2 variables SiteName and SiteName1, if you use SiteName1 then it shows proper value as a site description. I replaced SiteName with SiteName1 and it works. This might help to all who are like me and trying Tutorial example.
I am not sure how many may have tried OAF - Tutorial examples. They are really complicated and not easy and in most cases they are not coming out in first try but if you really try then it will give lot of understanding.
