  • How to pass multiple values from master to child report

    Hello,
    How would I pass multiple prompts from the master to child report? So for example, say I want to pass a 'Country' value along with a 'City' value
    Would it be?
    ="<a href=\"../../opendoc/openDocument.jsp?iDocID=ASQlgCemIOlEid1HHUlzyPs&sDocName=DocTest&sIDType=CUID&sType=wid&sWindow=Same&lsSCountry="+[Country]+"&lsSCity="+[City]+"\</a>"
    Thanks,
    Carter

    Carter,
    what is the syntax for this?
    It is exactly how you have posted in your original note.
    "&lsSCountry="+[Country]+"&lsSCity="[City]
    This will work providing the target report has a prompt called "Country" and another prompt called "City".  Note that your prompt and what you pass between the &lsS and the equal (=) must match exactly, otherwise OpenDocument will not communicate the prompt title to InfoView properly and InfoView will stop and execute the prompt to get the info it needs before running the report.  Have you tried what you've posted originally to see if it executes without a problem?
    Thanks,

  • Passing a value from Report A to B when B is in a different Subject Area

    I had posted a question previously on how to pass the Dept # from Report A to B when B i in a different Subject Area. The question was:
    Report A is a table on the Dashboard that shows Actual vs Budget results by Department. I want the user to click on the Department and be navigated to report B that shows the detail transactions that make up the Actual results. Report A and B are from different underlying subject areas. Thus when I navigate to report B, I see ALL departments, and not the one I clicked on in Report A to bring up Report B. How can I limit the results in Report B to be just the respective cell I clicked on in Report A?
    I got great advice from Nico on how to use the GO URL, but I can only get that to work if the 2 reports in question are from the same data model. In my case they are NOT.
    The GO URL seems to be working, as it does open up Report B when I click on the Department field in Report A, but it does not pass the Department number to Report B, even though reprot B has that field "as prompted".
    Can anyone definitively indicate whether what I'm trying to do is not possible in BI EE?

    Read this from Venkat... I think this will be helpful in understanding prompts, both the column prompts (Answers) type and the dashboard prompts. Very useful, I think.

  • Determining the parameters passed in a Discoverer Report through SQL query

    Hi,
    I want to know the parameters passed in a Discoverer Report through a SQL query.
    i.e if we pass the Report name (Workbook Name) then we get the paramaters used .
    Is there any way we can do this.
    Any help will be really appreciated.
    Thanx in advance
    Ankur

    Hi
    You can indeed get the parameters from the EUL5_QPP_STATS table, although they are extremely difficult to get at.
    Look at this script:
    SELECT
    QS.QS_DOC_OWNER    USER_NAME,
    QS.QS_DOC_NAME     WORKBOOK,
    QS.QS_DOC_DETAILS  WORKSHEET,
    TRUNC(QS.QS_CREATED_DATE) DOC_DATE,
    *(LENGTH(TO_CHAR(EUL5_GET_ITEM_NAME(QS.QS_ID)))+1)/9 ITEMS,*
    EUL5_GET_ITEM(SUBSTR(EUL5_GET_ITEM_NAME(QS.QS_ID),1,  6)) ITEM1,
    EUL5_GET_ITEM(SUBSTR(EUL5_GET_ITEM_NAME(QS.QS_ID),10, 6)) ITEM2,
    EUL5_GET_ITEM(SUBSTR(EUL5_GET_ITEM_NAME(QS.QS_ID),19, 6)) ITEM3,
    EUL5_GET_ITEM(SUBSTR(EUL5_GET_ITEM_NAME(QS.QS_ID),28, 6)) ITEM4,
    EUL5_GET_ITEM(SUBSTR(EUL5_GET_ITEM_NAME(QS.QS_ID),37, 6)) ITEM5,
    EUL5_GET_ITEM(SUBSTR(EUL5_GET_ITEM_NAME(QS.QS_ID),46, 6)) ITEM6,
    EUL5_GET_ITEM(SUBSTR(EUL5_GET_ITEM_NAME(QS.QS_ID),55, 6)) ITEM7,
    EUL5_GET_ITEM(SUBSTR(EUL5_GET_ITEM_NAME(QS.QS_ID),64, 6)) ITEM8,
    EUL5_GET_ITEM(SUBSTR(EUL5_GET_ITEM_NAME(QS.QS_ID),73, 6)) ITEM9,
    EUL5_GET_ITEM(SUBSTR(EUL5_GET_ITEM_NAME(QS.QS_ID),82, 6)) ITEM10,
    EUL5_GET_ITEM(SUBSTR(EUL5_GET_ITEM_NAME(QS.QS_ID),91, 6)) ITEM11,
    EUL5_GET_ITEM(SUBSTR(EUL5_GET_ITEM_NAME(QS.QS_ID),100,6)) ITEM12,
    EUL5_GET_ITEM(SUBSTR(EUL5_GET_ITEM_NAME(QS.QS_ID),109,6)) ITEM13,
    EUL5_GET_ITEM(SUBSTR(EUL5_GET_ITEM_NAME(QS.QS_ID),118,6)) ITEM14,
    EUL5_GET_ITEM(SUBSTR(EUL5_GET_ITEM_NAME(QS.QS_ID),127,6)) ITEM15,
    EUL5_GET_ITEM(SUBSTR(EUL5_GET_ITEM_NAME(QS.QS_ID),136,6)) ITEM16,
    EUL5_GET_ITEM(SUBSTR(EUL5_GET_ITEM_NAME(QS.QS_ID),145,6)) ITEM17,
    EUL5_GET_ITEM(SUBSTR(EUL5_GET_ITEM_NAME(QS.QS_ID),154,6)) ITEM18,
    EUL5_GET_ITEM(SUBSTR(EUL5_GET_ITEM_NAME(QS.QS_ID),163,6)) ITEM19,
    EUL5_GET_ITEM(SUBSTR(EUL5_GET_ITEM_NAME(QS.QS_ID),172,6)) ITEM20
    FROM
    EUL5_QPP_STATS QS--,
    --   APPS.FND_USER          USR
    WHERE
    --   QS.QS_DOC_OWNER = '#' || USR.USER_ID AND
    *(LENGTH(TO_CHAR(EUL5_GET_ITEM_NAME(QS.QS_ID)))+1)/9 < 21*
    AND QS.QS_CREATED_DATE > '01-JAN-2007'
    What this does is return the first 20 items used in a worksheet. It does this by passing 6 characters at a time out of a cusror made up by concatenating QS_DBMP0 to QS_DBMP7 to get the Dimensions and then again by concatenating QS_MBMP0 to QS_MBMP7 to get the Measures. Having got that cursor it then takes each 6 characters and passes them to a nibble algorithm to decode the actual item. The code is extremely difficult to follow.
    I mention this because other fields in the same table are QS_JBMP0 to QS_JBMP7 which I believe are Joins, and QS_FBMP0 to QS_FBMP7 which look like Filters (aka parameters) being used. I think the QS stands for Query Statistics and BMP for bitmap. Somewhere in the EUL5.SQL script is the key to unlocking this.
    Good luck. The reason I say this will become apparent when you look inside EUL5.SQL.

  • How to pass multiple values from workbook to planning function ?

    Hi,
    I have created Planning function in Modeler and it has one parameter(Variable represents = Multiple single values).
    When executing the planning function by create planning seq. in the web template : I see value of variable store data like ...
        A.) input one value -> V1
        B.) input three values -> V1;V2;V3
    This function execute completely in web.
    However, I want to use the planning function in workbook(Excel).
    The value of variable can't input V1;V2;V3... I don't know how to pass multiple values from workbook to parameter(Multiple single values type) in planning function ?

  • Passing Multiple rows from one external webpart list to another

    Hi Folks,
                    I have almost spent 1 week looking into this without any success. I have an external list "List A"  (in a webpart) with one of the columns as "State".
    Another external list "List B"  (in a webpart ) has state and user as columns. In some case I want to pass 1 state and in another I want to pass multiple state.  Passing one state from List A to List B works fine. But Multiple state does
    not work because the webpart list has the property "Send First row to connected web parts when page loads".  If I disable this option then the web part does not pass anything. Is there a way to pass multiple rows from one Webpart
    external list to other?

    No Lookups
    Unfortunatly the only thing that you can do a look up on in an external list is on the ID column, anything else and you are out of luck.

  • Passing Multiple Values from Multi Select

    Hi,
    My requirement is simple. I have created a simple Multi Select Option in parameter form and i want to send multiple selected values from the multi select option (in parameter form) to reports.
    eg:
    I want to send multiple countries code as input .........'US', 'CA', 'IND', 'UK'
    Can i do it in Oracle 6i reports, Thanks in Advance.
    Regards,
    Asgar

    Hi Thanks Again,
    For such a nice response. I got the Lexical Where condition properly running but still getting problems in catching the multiple values to be passed from form. just i will give u an insight of wat i have done:
    SQL:
    SELECT ALL FROM EMPLOYEES &cond_1* -- Working FIne
    in my Html Parameter Form i have an Multi Select component (the Problem is here) it is not passing more than i value from the form once i am accessing it from web or running it in paper report. In paper report layout it is not allowing me to select more than one value. but in HTML it is allowing to select multiple values but at the server end (After Parameter Form Trigger) it is giving a single value not multiple values.
    In PL/SQL when i checking the length of country_id i m getting it as one.
    Here is my SQL code
    srw.message(10, LENGTH(:country_id_1));
    :cond_1 := 'where country_id = '''|| :country_id_1 ||'''';
    This is passing the condition properly to SQL but only with single value but i want to pass multiple values
    I am struck in this+_
    WHERE CONTRY_COLUMN IN ('USA','UAE') -- This variable you have to pass from you form...
    Here as you said you gave multiple selection in your parameter form to generate report. So before generation report just prepare variable like this as it is bold above.
    and pass parameter through your runtime form to the report as you pass the normal parameter...liket this i gave you example...
    ADD_PARAMETER(PARAMETER_LIST_NAME,'P_CONT_PARAM',TEXT_PARAMETER,vString);
    Sorry for troubling you for a small thing but please help me to solve this issue.
    Thanks Again............

  • Passing multiple values to report

    Hi,
    I have a parameter form. One of the field will have at least one value. When it have more than one value, the values will be separate by a comma and pass to the report. Please tell me how separate them and put them in quotation in the report query.
    EX: the values are: PO, DR
    There will be in the where condition as: where code in ('PO', 'DR');
    Thank you in advance.
    ps. I am using 10g

    Hello,
    Forms does not allow user to select multiple values from a list item!
    The purpose of the LIST ITEM is to provide a list of values for data entry. Since data entry is for a single row of data, the LIST ITEM allows a single value to be selected. Selecting multiple values in the LIST ITEM for a single value item on a single record is not the function of a LIST ITEM.
    So, if you need to select multiple values from a field and pass them through a single parameter to report, i will present you two methods to achieve this!
    First Method is the text item Method:
    Stept 1:
    Create the text item with the values you need to send to reports.
    Step 2:
    Create 2 visual attributes.One visual attribute is for selected values and the other one is for deselected values
    Step 3:
    Create a parameter, in forms parameter layouts which will hold the selected value.This parameter will be used to set the report query clause.
    Step 4:
    Create a trriger for the item which you created at step 1. An example is when-mouse-click trriger.In the body of the trriger,if the item instance is clicked you will modify its visual attribute and the parameter created at step 3 will receive the item instance value.
    Step 5:
    In reports create a user lexical parameter(which is a large text parameter ex 2000).Ex. P_Clause.The value of this parameter is the value recrived for the form parameter you created at step 3. You report query will be like this: select * from table where &P_Clause!
    Second Method is the checkbox Method:
    Stept 1:
    Create a checkbox item near the text item with the values you need to send to reports.
    Step 2:
    Create a parameter, in forms parameter layouts which will hold the selected value.This parameter will be used to set the report query clause.
    Step 3:
    Before you call run_report_object proc, you will need to loop through records and build you parameter with the selected checkbox instances!
    Step 4:
    In reports create a user lexical parameter(which is a large text parameter ex 2000).Ex. P_Clause.The value of this parameter is the value recrived for the form parameter you created at step 3. You report query will be like this: select * from table where &P_Clause!
    Hope this helps.

    Alex

  • Passing Multiple Values from a worksheet to PL/SQL function.

    Hi All,
    Is there any way to pass multiple values selected in a worksheet to a PL/SQL function ?
    I will try to explain the scenario:
    We have a crosstab report that showing all the customer details, deposit sum of a customer in each date in a date range selected. With the customer details we are showing the Rank of a customer based on the deposit in the latest date selected. Filtering is based on the rank, ie Top50 or Top60 etc.( As I said rank is calculating based on the deposit in the latest date).This is working fine.
    Now the new requirement is to : For example, in Top50 report, list all the customers, who were in the Top50 list, in any of the dates selected. We are able to display the daywise rank, but when giving a condition like daywiserank <= 50, the result becomes uncertain. Some blank lines, wrong amounts etc..
    As a work around we tried to find out the rank in a PL/SQL function. But the issue there is : we have some multiple value parameters used in the worksheet.
    Is there any way to pass multiple values selected in a worksheet to a PL/SQL function ?
    Or any other work arounds for the scenario explained?
    Reagrds,
    Jeneesh

    Hi Russ,
    Thanks for the response.
    Russ Proudman wrote:
    1. I thought there was an analytical function similar to rank - or maybe an option of rank - that if there are duplicate records to have them all considered the same rank. So if you had 3 records all the same as rank=2 then a condition saying where rank=2 would return the 3 records. You could check into this.
    We are already using DENSE_RANK. But the issue is the output contains incorrect null values nd repeated rows.
    We got it solved as I explained in the previous post. But will that AGGREGATION MODE setting ( Which discoverer says - not recommended) have any issue? I mean side effects?
    Russ Proudman wrote:
    2. Another thought is that you can create a PL/SQL routine - that's called from a SQL function registered in Discoverer - where a table is created that does the first part of your query. Then a worksheet is created to use the data from that table. So, in essence, the table would have your top50 ranked customers. Then you can write any kind of worksheet against that table. However, DBAs are loath to allow tables - that they didn't create! - many times in a PROD environment.
    Here also the same problem will occur: as the top 50 will depend upon the parameters. I cannot pass those parameters to PL/SQL Function.And storing the top50 ( itmay be top100 or to 150 also) for all combinations of the parameters is impossible
    Russ Proudman wrote:
    3. Finally, are you sure you're rank function is correct in that if you're getting blank lines, maybe the 'over' part is not considering all columns needed to determine the rank?
    Yes the query we are using is correct. The output QUERY of discoverer gives correct results in Sqlplus.

  • Pass parameter to BI report through link in IC webclient

    HI

    please help

    Hi,
         I'm not familiar with the BI reports, But, if your BI report is a BSP component, you can surely navigate to it. One possible way is listed in this wiki.
    [http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/CRM/CRM-NavigatingtoyourcustomBSP+component]
    The UI object and target IDs may already be available. If that is the case, you can skip that part.
    When you fire the outbound plug to trigger a navigation, you can pass a collection consisting of
    1. The  navigation descriptior object
    2. The data you may want to pass to the called component. This may be a value node or a model BO.
    The "firing" should be done from the "top level" component or you should delegate the outbound plug to parent windows and the final window should trigger the navigation.

  • Pass query to the report through form

    Hello everybody...
    I m using forms and reports 6i.
    I create query through form depends on user selection.
    Means user select specified columns from specific table. And finally i create complete query.
    Now i wanna pass that query to report builder and wants to generate automatic report depends on that query.
    Can anybody have idea how to do this?
    How to pass query from form and generate report.
    If any1 knows then please help me

    You should pass all columns but with separator character i.e.:
    supl_cd||';'|| supl_name ||';' city ||';'|| add1 ||';'|| add2 ||';'|| pincode ||';'|| country my_column
    You should also pass column names if you want and get them back using the same procedure.
    Procedure for retrieving should use instr,loop and srw.do_sql, if you don't know what is SRW built in package, then take a look in report's help. That's a pity that there is nothing similar in forms. You can use dynamic select to pass values exactly to the report's variables:
    for i in 1..10 loop
    srw.do_sql('select '||i||' into :cp_'||i||' from dual');
    end loop;

    George:
    You can use CURSOR VARIABLE to pass this

    create or replace package pkg_a
    as
    TYPE c_emp REF CURSOR;
    PROCEDURE mysp (var1 IN NUMBER,

  • Passing multiple rows from one action to another

    Hi,
    I've build a Guided Procedure Process with two actions. Both actions call a Visual Composer Model (deployed as Flex).
    The Processdesign is:
    Process
    ---Block
    Action 1
    CO 1 as VC Model (Flex)
    Action 2
    CO 2 as VC Model (Flex)
    From the first vc model I want to pass multiple rows (its a vc table) to the second vc model. Therefor I've group the out-going parameters from model 1 with the in-coming parameters from model 2 at the block-level.
    Now, when I start my process I have two results in the table of  vc model 1 and will pass them to model 2. But only one record (always the first) is shown at model 2.
    Can you say me the reason for this? Have I configured the parameter-grouping false? Or isn't it possible to pass multiple rows at guided procedures?
    I'm using Visual Composer 7.0 and Guided Procedures 7.0 technology.
    Thanks in advance
