Passing N78 calendar entries to Lumia 820

Hi,
I'm migrating from a N78 to a Lumia 820.
I've passed the contacts without any issue but I also need to passe the calendar entries.
How can I do that?

Use tool in latest Nokia Suite to sync. Symbian content with SkyDrive and then back to your Lumia 820 as here:http://www.nokia.com/us-en/support/faq/?action=singleTopic&topic=FA136391

Nokia Lumia 800 - sync calendar entries

Did anyone notice that Windows Live will only sync calendar entries within the last “2 weeks” to your lumia? It seems that Windows Live has limited the synchronization through their server. This has caused a lot of inconvenience as past calendar entries are also important.

Yes, I have noticed this - the more responses that users find this unsatisfactory the better and, hopefully, Microsoft/Nokia will address the problem.
There are many times when I need to refer to past items in my calendar, and a 15 day cut-off is unacceptable; I often go back 12 months! I also don't carry a laptop around with me, so logging in to my Windows Live or Google calendar is not an option - that was the reason for purchasing a smartphone.
The Nokia Lumia 800 phone has performed well for me in all other functions but this really does need to be fixed. Come on guys, listen to your users.
I am one of the people that this really DOES BOTHER!!

Lumia 820 calendar tile

Dear All
I have a question about the live calendar tile on the 820. It doesn’t seem to showing events on it.
On the 800 I used to get an event reminder on the tile, which meant every time I was on the ‘home’ screen I was constantly reminded of things I had to do! A great feature.
I’ve looked through the setting, etc, am I missing something? Or is there a fault with the handset?

There has been a few reports where the calendar was missing for unknown reasons.
First try if installing the calendar again is an option? - It can not be found via search in the store, only through

If this fails to restore normal functionality, the next and last option is a factory reset of the phone, unfortunately.

Symbian Series 40 better for calendar entries than...

I hope I write in the right forum
As former user of a Nokia 6500 slide (S40 powered) I switched to a 5800 XM (S60 powered). I don't have Microsoft Office (so no Outlook). The only options to create calendar-entries for my phone are Nokia PC Suite (latest version) www.ovi.com and the phone itself.
Neither of this solutions let me create WEEKLY events which re-occur every 2 weeks. The PC-Suite only has the options daylie, weekly, monthly, yearly... available - the odd thing is that with my S40 6500 slide there where much more options available which let me create this type of events. Perhaps the PC-Suite doesn't support the 5800 XM 100%?
The Nokia OVI-Service (www.ovi.com) has a small bug (or feature - if so tell me the trick ), where you can choose a number on daylie, monthly and yearly base but NOT on weekly - if I choose "weekly" I only get options like Monday, Tuesday, etc. (why choosing a day when I did that before I created the event ).
The phone-device itself does have very limited adjustment-options to create events in its calendar - you can create events on 14 day base but that's luck, because the event must be a "Besprechung" (no clue whats the phrase in englih - perhaps "meeting"?) and the only option which has sub-options like (2 x, 3 x..) is "weekly". So reoccuring events on 2 months base aren't possible for example.
I know that the 5800 isn't meant to be a organizer but in it's current state the calendar is more or less useless (other than that of the 6500 slide).
If someone knows how to workaround those things or thinks that I have a made a mistake somewhere please tell

Yep, the build-in Calendar suffers from lack of some features. Anyway, you can use some third party apps to create Weekly reminders. For example, Handy Calendar will use the default calendar Database and allow weekly events.

STOP showing hidden calendar entries in the Hub.

Following up on this request from a year ago. This is supposed to be a device and operating system built for productivity, but is completely USELESS if I have to see every single one of my coworkers' calendar entries in my Hub, even when their calendars are hidden in my calendar app.
The early builds of 10.3 don't show any difference here. PLEASE GUYS, PLEASE FIX THIS. You're an enterprise company now. I'm a business user. You have no idea how much time I waste by having to manually check coworkers' calendars from a desktop browser because I can't link them up to my phone.

Just wanted to provide input in clarifying some of the original posters ideas:
-In addition to hidden calendar entries not being shown in the hub, I think they (and I, and I'm sure a lot of other people!) want to be able to configure in the hub which calendar entries appear there based on calendar i.e. you shouldn't have to hide a calendar in the calendar app to stop the entries from appearing in the hub. It would be great to have all calendars showing in the calendar app but only calendar entries for the ones I choose in the hub
-Further to this, there should be something like a Calendars section in Hub Management. The reason I mention this is because for services like GMail which are configured in one shot, even if I select "Show in Separate Account Only" in the hub settings for that account, it will still show calendar entries (but will not show e-mail messages)
This is kinda a pain right now as I'll just have to disable those other calendars from showing on the phone (way too many entries being passed to the hub and cluttering it up), but I hope this is fixed soon. Loving the Passport, prior phone was a Bold 9900 and just trying to help you guys out! Thanks!

Phone contacts issue (Lumia 820)

I recently got the Lumia 820 loving it but there is one thing I hate and can't figure out how to solve.
(I've searched the forums but couldn't find a clear answer)
I imported my contacts throught the Import contacts from sim option
But now all my hotmail contacts are in my phonebook and I don't want them there. If I disable hotmail they are all gone.
My hotmail account is from my xbox so I don't even have the phone number of the people added on there, so you can guess it's pretty anoying trying to find who you're searching to call
(Only have option to show hotmail contacts and facebook contacts, if i disable them both i don't have any contacts in my phonebook anymore. Not even those who are on my sim)

Your Windows Phone sits under your Microsoft account just like your Xbox does. IF you do not want to see the Xbox contacts but still want to have access to the functionality you get from using the account as your primary account you will have to do some juggling to get this to work.
If you have not set up your L820 completely yet the easiest way would be to create a new account at outlook.com, then reset the phone and register it using the new account. Now when you import your contacts they will sync to the new outlook.com account.
Now reset the phone again and switch back to the hotmail account as primary. Then add the outlook account as a second Microsoft account and allow syncing contacts (and calendars). You can now disable the contacts from the People hub for the hotmail account through PEOPLE > ... > settings > filter contacts and disable for hotmail.
This way your Xbox account will still sync with the games and achievements on the phone while your contacts are on the second account. When adding contacts select the second account for them to sync to..
If you have the phone set up you can go to outlook.com, create the new account then logout and log back in with your hotmail account and export the contacts to your PC. Open the CSV file in a texteditor and remove all the original hotmail contacts. Then log in to te new outlook.com account and import the CSV file into that to get the contacts there.
You can link the two accounts (hotmail and outlook.com account) to easy switch between them fro there.

The question is where is the 920 variant Do get me wrong it nice to see a Nokia on VZW but after seeing Nokia's highend device I'm not settleing for anything lower.

Lumia 820 MixRadio Oxicash Subscription Activation...

Hi,
I have a Lumia 820 which I bought last year in February. This year in Feb '14, my 1 years unlimited music download subscription expired.
I bought a coupon for Rs. 281/- from Oxicash for a 3 months unlimited download subscription. However, when I try to redeem the voucher purchased, I get the following message:
"There was a problem registering your phone for your unlimited downloads subscription. Try again in a moment - if the problem continues, contact Nokia Support."
I called the Nokia customer care and was asked to do the following:
a. Change my country to India in Text+Speech,
b. Delete MixRadio and reinstall
c. Delete my account from Nokia Account in Settings
I have done all the above and it still does not register me.

I have only provided the alternate email id yesterday to Nokia Cutsomer Care. I guess they should complete the association in about 48 hours. I will confirm with them tomorrow and then try it out.
If nothing else works, I guess I will have to reset my phone and hope that works. From previous posts I am given to understand that once an account has been associated with the IMEI number, one cannot use another account
Nokia must get past this limitation as some people would like to pass on their Lumia to an offspring or some one else and that person then cannot use the Nokia Music service which is a very attractive feature of the Lumia range. I have used an Android phone, but am in love with my 820.

Iphone Calendar Entries don't show up on Mobile Me

This is new problem - I think it started after I entered the latest ITunes update and MAC OS X (10.6.6)
When I make calendar entries on Mobile Me or ICal, they automatically show up on my IPhone. However, it doesn't work the other way around. I have made calendar entries on my phone and they don't appear on Mobile Me or ICal.
Please HELP!

Syncing Calendar with MobileMe is bi-directional, so if entries get from MobileMe to the phone, entries made on the phone should get to MobileMe (and to your laptop).
The only time I've seen your problem is with a jailbroken phone. Is that the case here? (Still using iOS 4.2...)

Z10 calendar entries can't be deleted

On getting my Z10 I performed a device swop using Blackberry Link from from Blackberry 9860 running OS 7.1.
It was a virtual failure, only copying a few pieces of data, no contacts at all and only a few calendar entries, which were from 2011. On my Z10 I delete these old entries, some of which are recurring ones, only to find that when I restart my phone they all return. I have tried battery pulls and editing them so they no longer are recurring entries but nothing works. I start the phone in the morning and they all return.
Can anyone help?

Are these calendar entries synchronized with any email accounts? Like Gmail, Yahoo or Hotmail?
If they are, I would suggest turning off Wireless synchronization and then remove the calendar entries and test.
Go to Setting>Accounts and delete the calendar account.

Duplicate calendar entries on iPhone, but not in iCal (NOT using mobile.me)

I've had a problem for a while (since iOS 3) where I get duplicate events on the iPhone (3GS and 4). It seems to happen for events that have been edited/deleted - they are not edited on the phone, rather a duplicate is made. It seems as if what is supposed to happen is iTunes deletes the old one, then creates a new one, only the old one is not being deleted. This is very annoying, especially for recurring events that get edited several times!
I have found several posts about duplicate contacts and calendar entries but they all seem to be pointing to a conflict with mobile.me which I do not use. This is a simple sync between iCal and iPhone using iTunes.
Does anyone know what could be causing this?

I used to have this issue on my original iPhone (the 2G from 2007). You have to reset your sync data. This should help you; http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1627?viewlocale=en_US BUT don't shoot the messenger on this as I did a quick Google search.

You should be syncing all your contacts and calendars with your computer, either via iCloud or iTunes, so it is easy to re-sync them back to the phone after you restore.

This happened to me too but it was really all there. Go to your calendar, click on calendar in the upper left hand corner, click on show all calendars, click done in the right upper corner. Everything should show up!!!

Installing Maverick on my Mac lost almost all of the calendar entries. They are still on my iPhone and new entries move freely to both devices via iCloud. How do I get the entries from my iPhone to iCloud without losing them from iPhone?

Like many others after I installed Maverick I found that all the calendar history has been lost and most of the forward info has also been lost. Also in order to get calendar, contacts and notes to sync with the iPhone I have had to move to iCloud. Contacts and notes sync fine. new calendar entries sync ok. My iPhone has all the calendar entries that were on the Mac before I installed Maverick. So far iCloud has not overwritten them nor have they synced onto iCloud.
How can I get all the entries from my iPhone onto iCloud, without losing the only copy of my calendar from my iPhone?
Thanks Apple for deciding to take over my privacy. I do not want this data stored on a US based server. Fortunately Mail still syncs via my own email provider. I guess Apple will find a way to stop that soon too!

It seems you are experiencing an issue with contact syncing and management. It seems you've removed an email account which contained a number of contacts that are not associated with your iCloud account. You may want to consider importing the contacts from the email account you removed. You can do it easily by following the steps in this article:
iCloud: Import a vCard
You can import an electronic business card, also called a vCard, into iCloud Contacts. If the vCard contains contact information for more than one person, each contact becomes a separate entry.
In iCloud Contacts, choose Import vCard from the Action pop-up menu , which appears at the bottom of the All Contacts list or a list of group contacts
Select a vCard to import.
The contacts from the vCard are added to the All Contacts group in Contacts. You can add the contacts to any other group by dragging them to the desired group.
