Passing Parameter to sub report from detail section of Main report

I am new to CR
I am developing a CR for Clinical Lab Test. My main report have four field i.e
1. Test Code
2. Test Name
3. Result Value
4. Normal Values
This report has sub report in Page Footer. When TestCode = 18 or 19 It has to show a normal value table in Page footer of that page. Other wise this table should not appear on page footer.
Please help me

Hi Qasim,
Go in Section Expert and select the page footer.  You will find Suppress in right side of the window, go in formula editor and give the follwoing formula :
If Testcode<> 18  or Testcode <> 19 Then true

  • Passing Multivalued parameter to sub report in SSRS

    Hi Team,
    I tried passing multi valued parameter to sub report in SSRS but the report is blank.
    Rgds,
    Shree

    Hi Shree,
    As per my understanding, the issue is caused by the multiple-value parameters are not passed from the main report to the subreport correctly. Please refer to the steps below to check whether you configure the subreport parameter settings correctly:
    Drag a Subreport control from toolbox to design surface.
    Right-click the Subreport to open the Subreport Properties dialog box, then select the correct report as subreport.
    Click Parameters in the left pane.
    Add parameters as below (Parameter1 is a single-value parameter, Parameter2 is a multi-value parameter in subreport ):
    Name: Parameter1              Value: [@ReportParameter1]
    Name: Parameter2              Value: =Split(join(Parameters!ReportParameter2.Value,","),",")
    Please also directly select or type the same values in subreport to check whether the subreport works well with those parameter values.
    Thanks,

  • Pass parameter to ssrs report in performance point webpart from textbox text

    How to pass parameter to ssrs report  in performance point webpart from textbox text
    Please help me to solve this ...
    Bikky Kumar

    Edit your SharePoint page and add new text filter web part.
    Then pass the text filter value to your performance point report using connections. Your report should include at least one parameter to get the value. More over you can set default value in text filter.

  • Looking for a way to pass parameter to external list from infopath

    Hey, i have a Sharepoint 2010 list for which I want to create Infopath form. I have an external content type and external list based on it.
    I want to prepopulate some fields in my Sharepoint list with data from external list. I tried to use external list as a secondary data source and query it for needed values. The issue I encounter is that my ECT has a finder with filter and I can't figure
    out how to pass a value to this filter within infopath.
    How can it be done with infopath? How can I pass the filter value to the external list using Infopath?

    Hi,
    According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to pass parameter to external list from infopath.
    You need to query the external list from InfoPath using coding and CAML Query.
    Here is a similar thread for your reference:

  • Passing database command parameter to sub-report

    I'm trying to pass a runtime parameter from a main report to a database command parameter in a sub-report, and having some trouble.
    My main report has parameter fields (Vendor, Manufacturer, etc) that the user selects at runtime - the result set includes Item Code - that part is working fine.  Where I'm having trouble is with linking to the sub-report.  My sub-report has a stored command that takes a parameter (ItemCode) and counts the number of times it's shown up on an invoice.  When I created the command, it asked for a value for the parameter, and won't accept a blank entry.  Now, whenever I try to run the main report, it asks for the ItemCode parameter for the sub-report - which kind of defeats the purpose.  I've tried linking from ?Pm-OITM.ItemCode in the main report, but the Subreport Links window doesn't show the Command parameter to link to.
    How do I take a field from the main report and pass it to a sub-report to be used as a parameter in a stored database command?
    I'm running CR 2008, and SAP B1 2007 PL 42 on MS SQL 2005, and I'm still pretty new at CR, so details help.
    Thanks.

    Go to change subreport links and add Item Code from main report and then you can see the sureport stored procedure parameter in the Subreport parameters list, select the parameter and do not select any field from subreport.
    You will be able to see the stored procedure parameter in the list only when the Item Code and the parameter are of same data type.

  • Passing parameters to sub report's stored procedure

    I'm attempting to pass values from the main report to a linked sub report's stored procedure, but I haven't been successful yet.
    I know how to filter the parameters on the return set of the stored procedure, using parameters from the main report. However, I would like the stored procedure executed for each record of the main report, using those values passed.

    I was getting "missing parameter values" trying to send parameters to a stored procedure in the subreport.  Turns out there is a hot fix for my issue.  Not sure if it matches what you're trying to do; you need to give more information on what you've already tried.
    I was using CR XI, and also CR for VS 2005. The problem seems to be fixed with CR VS2005 SP1, for Visual Studio CR.
    Look up under Business Objects Downloads: Crystal Reports > .NET > Hot Fixes
    Files:
    CRRedist2005_x86.msi
    crvs05sp1.exe
    Then open the report again, and re-save it.
    This has fixed the problem for me.
    Good luck!

  • Passing Paramters to sub-report

    I need some help with parameters between reports.  I have a master report and a sub-report which is linked to a stored procedure.  The stored procedure used in the sub-report has input parameters defined.
    I have a master report which has a two level dynamic prompt.  When one of three companies are selected, the dynamic list of states available for that company is displayed.  I then want to assign the selected list of states to the  parameter in the sub-report.  I have created a shared variable and joined the master reports parameter values into the variable.  In the master the resulting string looks like what I want in the sub-report stored procedure, for example ('WA', 'OR').  However, when I run the report the stored procedure input parameter appears to have no values assigned.
    Is there some way to assign the default for the sub-report store procedure parameter to a value from the master report?
    Thanks

    Sorry, but I am still missing something.  I have a formula which builds the string.
    Shared stringVar vStates;
    vStates := JOIN({?pCompany - CIS_DIVISION},",");
    vStates := "'" + vStates + "'";
    vStates := REPLACE (vStates, ",","','");
    vStates;
    When shown on the report the output is what I want, 'WA','OR'.  But when linked to the SP parameter, no data is returned when more than one state is selected.  Again, when a single value is selected, it works fine.
    The input parameter is defined as varchar2 in the SP.

    Hi!
    To suppress Oracle Reports native Parameter Form just add:
    add_parameter( pl_id, 'pARAMform', text_parameter, 'NO' );

  • Help Needed in passing parameter to cryst report

    Hello everyone, I am trying to create a report for a single record and as such am trying to pass parameters to a crystal report but I am not sure exactly how to do this. This is my own method that I am employeeing. I do not want to create a data table and put all the info I need in there and then base a report off of it. I do not want to deal with loops and arrays right now. I just want to pass for example parameter JuvenileID = 1 to my crystal report, then create a command under the database expert and set the parameter for my command to the parameter I passed my crystal report. How would I go about in doing this? I am using VS 2010 C#. This is a windows application. I have a dataentry form that is already populated with the info needed for the report. I just need to pass all the controls.text values to the report and populate it that way.

    I'm not sure if I fully understand the issue, but since you have all the data you need in a data entry form that is already populated, why don't you simple create an ADO .NET Dataset and pass that to the report? Much easier to implement, faster execution with the small amount of data you have and less code.
    Dataset sample app is here:

  • Passing Parameter to Crystal Report

    Hi Experts,
    I have created and designed a Report in Crystal Report 2005. I am displaying the report in SAP B1 using Win Form . Here I want to pass 2 parameters to Report ---@FromDate and @ToDate . I have coded to pass these two parameters this way :
    Dim RptDoc As New ReportDocument
            Dim ParamValue As String = String.Empty
            Dim crtableLogoninfos As New CrystalDecisions.Shared.TableLogOnInfos
            Dim crtableLogoninfo As New CrystalDecisions.Shared.TableLogOnInfo
            Dim crConnectionInfo As New CrystalDecisions.Shared.ConnectionInfo
            Dim CrTables As CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.Tables
            Dim CrTable As CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.Table
            Try
                RptDoc.Load(Application.StartupPath() & "\" & ReportName & ".rpt")
                RptDoc.SetParameterValue("@FromDate", "01/01/2008")
                RptDoc.SetParameterValue("@ToDate", "12/31/2008")
                Dim oForm_ReportViewer As Frm_ReportViewer = New Frm_ReportViewer()
                oForm_ReportViewer.CRViewer.ReportSource = RptDoc
                With crConnectionInfo
                    .ServerName = oCompany.Server  '"(local)"
                    .DatabaseName = oCompany.CompanyDB '"SBODemoIn"
                    .UserID = oCompany.DbUserName
                    .Password = "manager@123" 'oCompany.DbPassword
                 End With
                 CrTables = RptDoc.Database.Tables
                'Loop through each table in the report and apply the
                'LogonInfo information
                For Each CrTable In CrTables
                    crtableLogoninfo = CrTable.LogOnInfo
                    crtableLogoninfo.ConnectionInfo = crConnectionInfo
                    CrTable.ApplyLogOnInfo(crtableLogoninfo)
                Next
               oForm_ReportViewer.Text = frmTitle
                oForm_ReportViewer.WindowState = FormWindowState.Maximized
                oForm_ReportViewer.ShowDialog()
            Catch Ex As Exception
                MessageBox.Show(Ex.ToString)
            End Try
      But When I view the report in B1 , it throws an Exception "Report or Procedure expects parameter @FromDate which is not    supplied. "
    Please help me where I am making mistake , what could be the cause of this exception..
    Thanks and Regards,
    Pooja Singh.

    Hi Pooja Singh,
    You have only set Dim ParamValue As String = String.Empty.  Where are two parameter @FromDate and @ToDate?
    SetParameterValue will only work if you have defined the parameters already and the parameters have the right format.

  • Eliminate top and bottom 20% records from detail section.

    Post Author: optikconnex
    CA Forum: Crystal Reports
    I have two groups, Group1 is by PartNum and Group2 is by WorkCenter. I also have 1 detail section. I want to only show/select the middle 60% of records, or to reword that I want to eliminate the top 20% and bottom 20% of the detail records. How do I do this? I have tried using the Nth Largest and Nth Smallest and even Pth Percentile functions but I just don't seem to know how to use them correctly since I need this done at the detail level and not group level.
    Thanks

    You could try hiding the records based on your formula but I suspect that'll throw your group totals off.
    You might be best off using SQL to do that for you. Most of the major databases have Datamart type functions you can use.

  • Pass parameter to a report link

    HI,
    This is what I am trying to do:
    I want to create a report with 2 parameters - FromDate and ToDate.
    The report link will be something like this - http://xyx.com/report1FromDate=1jan2012&ToDate=31jan2012
    What I want is the users to change the date range in this URL and the report should automatically filter out the date selected. Is this possible? Has anyone does this before?
    So when the user runs this report and wants to run for some other date, they will just modify the URL and the report will run for Feb as an example shown below:
    http://xyx.com/report1FromDate=1feb2012&ToDate=29Feb2012
    Edited by: 920645 on Mar 21, 2012 11:21 AM

    It's not what you're doing wrong, but there is more right you can do.
    In the Report, on the Customization Form Display Options Tab, make sure "Make Public" is checked for your Bind Parameter (:CNTRYLOC).
    In the Page Properties, on the Parameters Tab, Add a Page parameter for CNTRYLOC. (I usually use the same name for the Page Parameter as the Report's Bind Parm. Warning: These parameters are CASE-SENSITIVE in places.)
    Still on the Page Properties Parameters Tab, Expand the list of Portlets at the bottom and map your Portlet Parameter to the Page parameter you just made.
    Hope that helps!

  • Problem passing parameter to crystal report subreport from *.aspx page

    Background:
    I am developing a .NET web application using Visual Studio 2005. The code behind is in VB.net. One of my asp.net pages calls a report, which is invoked when the user clicks a Print button. I have developed this report using the Crystal Reports software that is bundled with Visual Studio 2005. I am passing one parameter from the asp.net page (utilizing the VB.net code-behind on the Print button) to the Crystal report. The report consists of a main report and 5 subreports. Both the main report and the subreports use the same parameter. Both the main report and the subreports are bound to stored procedures, each of which require a parameter.
    Problem:
    For some reason, the parameter is not being passed from the asp.net page to the report. I am receiving the following error: "CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.ParameterField.CurrentValueException: Missing Parameter Values." However, when I remove the subreports, the parameter gets passed, and the report is invoked with no problem.
    I have read in other forums that there may be an issue with the Crystal Reports software that is causing this problem. I have downloaded and run the suggested hotfix, but the problem remains unresolved. I have tried changing the linking of my main report to the subreport, but that doesn't help either. It is possible that I am doing something wrong with the linking, as this is the first time I have developed a report with Crystal Reports. I need a workaround or definitive solution. Below is the aspx code used to call the report:
