Passing params into an iFrame

Ok last question.  I promise.
I have an iframe that in my irpt that I would like to pass a param from the main page into the iframe.
Can I use the below javascript:iframe as a src= instead of href= and instead of ('Cored Wire') can I use document.Line.getBrowserObject().getSelectedDatalinkValue();
I need to be able to stick the ibrowser value into this function so the iFram updates with the correct information.
href="javascript:iFrame('Cored Wire');"
function SelectLine(X)
     var LineID = document.Line.getBrowserObject().getSelectedDatalinkValue();
     var strUrl = "FR_Input_Production_History.irpt?Line=" + X;
     document.ifrReport.window.location.href = strUrl;
href="javascript:iFrame('Cored Wire');"

So, if I understand you correctly, you have a drop down iBrowser on the main page.  When a user selects a Line from the iBrowser, it fires the SelectLine(X) JS function and you want the iframe on the page to load the FR_Input_Production_History.irpt page with the correct Line as a URL param?
So if your iframe is defined something like this:
<iframe id="ifrReport" src=""></iframe>
Then your JS code "document.ifrReport.window...." could be replaced with:
document.getElementById("ifrReport").src = strUrl;
I hope this isn't your last question!  I like SDN points and T-shirts...

  • JRC with JavaBeans datasrc - how to pass params into javabean.getResultSet?

    Hi.
    I'm developing javabeans data sources for crystal reports for the java/JRC engine.  I've seen the document entitled Javabeans Connectivity for Crystal.  It TALKS ABOUT passing params into the methods that return java.sql.ResultSets but there is absolutely no example code anywhere that I can find on how to do it.
    What I don't understand is:  Since the JRC engine is basically controlling the instantiation of the javabean, other than calling some type of fetch method in the constructor, how the heck am I supposed to pass in db connection info and a sql string?
    Anybody got sample code for how to call/where to call parameters that I would put in a custom getResultSet method??
    Thanks.

    I don't think that a Connection Pool class would be an ideal candidate for becoming a JavaBean. One of the most prevalent use of a JavaBean class it to use it as a data object to collect data from your presentation layer (viz. HTML form) and transfer it to your business layer. If the request parameter names match the Bean's property names, a bean can automatically get these values and initialize itself even though it has a zero argument ctor. Then a Bean could call methods in the business layer to do some processing, to persist itself etc.

  • Passing command line JVM params into the code

    I am using a set of APIs that basically make a simple JDBC connection to an Oracle database and extract data out of it. However, the way the API has been written it requires the user to specify the Oracle driver parameter on the commad line...So to run the program you do:
    java -Djdbc.drivers=oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver Test
    Is there any way I could read the -Djdbc.drivers=oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver param into the code without having to include it in the command line? I am planning on making a call to the API via a servlet and not run it from a command line.
    Thank you

    There are two ways:
    1. The simplest one being to hard code the values in some variable in your code. But obviously, this is not the recomended solution since u can change the DB and so the Drivers change.
    2. Use Resource Bundle. Resource Bundle allows u to Pick Data from the Properties File(Any Text File with Name=value Pair named as <filename>.properties. Place your
    jdbc.drivers=oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver
    in this File and then Use the Followint Code
    ResourceBundle resBun = ResourceBundle.getBundle("myapp");
    // Above Code will luk into the CLasspath for a file viz myapp.properties
    // so make sure this Directory where this file exists is within the Classpath.
    if(resBun != null)
    System.out.println("Checking Property: " + resBun.getValue("jdbc.drivers"));
    Hope this Helps.,
    Cheers,

  • Embed EID application into Siebel IFRAME ?

    Hi,
    I want to embed my Endeca information discovery studio application into Siebel Ifram. So to do that i need Symbolic URL of EID studio application which contains the Parameter of Username & password to skip the authentication process while loading the EID studio application in Siebel.
    Can anyone pls let me know how to make the Symbolic URL or is there anyother way of doing it?
    Regards,
    Dinesh

    Out-of-the-box, no, you can't pass a regular Studio username and password (assuming the users are created and managed in Studio) in the URL.
    If you set up Studio to use single sign-on, where they log in using an existing account, then they would be logged in automatically. Using SSO in Studio is discussed here:

  • How to pass parameters into Function module : CLOI_PUT_SIGN_IN_FRONT

    Hello friends,
    I am displaying values ie, amounts in the screen using write statements here i have to display the
    sign left side , i am using  Function module   'CLOI_PUT_SIGN_IN_FRONT'
    Does anybody help me - How to pass paramter into this Function module.
    Regards,
    Phaneendra

    If you look to the code of the function module, you can see it is condensing the value.
    I would make a copy of this function, and remove the condense lines to give the result you want.
      data: text1(1) type c.
      search value for '-'.
      if sy-subrc = 0 and sy-fdpos <> 0.
        split value at '-' into value text1.
        condense value.
        concatenate '-' value into value.
      else.
        condense value.
      endif.

    Hi.
    How you start application? I think you send message to webservice(BPEL process is webservice too). So construct message with variable and value.
    But I created only processes where input value doesn't matter. I haven't use mapper yet too.

  • Refer to an object in Edge from an onclick="" in a .html file loaded into an iFrame in the animation

    HI, I am trying to figure out the Edge hierachies by stumbling my way through coding reference attempts. I've hit a wall...
    How can I refer to an object and a global function in my Edge animation from an onclick=""  located in an .html file loaded into an iFrame created within the master/parent Edge animation. Here's what I have...
    My main index.html is an Edge animation. One object <div> is a box created within Edge. I have added an iFrame with the Edge code:
    sym.$("MenuPanelScreen").html('<iframe src="list_images_cemetery.html" width="267" height="670" sandbox="allow-same-origin allow-scripts allow-top-navigation"></iframe>');
    That .html file which loads into the iframe within the animation contains thumbnails in <a> tags and contain onclick="" statements that should call a function within the Edge file.
    Eventually, I want the statements to read something like... onclick="changePic('Dragon.jpg', 'The Dragon', 'Saint and Worm')"
    However, I had no idea how to reference the changePic() function in the Edge animation. So, just to figure out how to reference the parent animation from an html in an iFrame, I change the onclick="" statements to...
    <a onclick="alert('Try to hide Nameplate'); sym.$('NamePlate_sym').hide();" >  <img src="gallery/TheyGaveUpTheirDead.jpg" width="80" alt="Angel and Worm" /></a>
    I first wanted to see if I could hide an Edge Symbol or div/element from the child html. I tried the following...
    onclick="alert('Try to hide Nameplate'); sym.$('NamePlate_sym', window.parent.document).hide();"
    I tried a few other variations that I won't bore you with. Can someone help me with the proper reference to effect an Edge element?
    Furthermore, I eventually wnat the onclick="" statement to reference a global function on attached to the Edge stage in the compositionReady event of the stage. The function is...
    window.changePic=function(myFileCurr, myLabelCurr, myDescriptionCurr) {
    alert("in changePick");
      document.getElementById("myImage").src="gallery/"+myFileCurr;
      document.getElementById("myImageLabel").innerHTML=myLabelCurr;
      document.getElementById("myImageDescr").innerHTML=myDescriptionCurr;
    I hope someone can point me in the right direction. Please forgive my ignorance. i am just getting back into coding and learning the intricacies of Jscript and jQuery. Thanks!

    Hi again Elaine,
    I actually had some success after many attempts with using your code. I can control the .stop() and .play() of the "NamePlate_sym" symbol. Yet, I am still having trouble doing anything else with it. I cannot .hide() it, nor use .html("Change text") on another element on the stage called"Rectangle". If I can accomplish that and all a global function on the stage, I'm in good shape.
    I placed the following script in the header of the .html file that gets loaded into the iFrame within the Edge composition:
      <script type="text/javascript">
       window.parent.AdobeEdge.bootstrapCallback(function(compId) {
       comp = window.parent.AdobeEdge.getComposition(compId).getStage();
       alert("CompID is "+compId);
       var symbol = document.createElement('div');
       symbol.innerHTML = 'Rotate';
       symbol.style.cssText = 'background-color:#fea; width: 50px; text-align: center;';
       symbol.style.cursor = 'pointer';
       symbol.onclick = function() {
        if (comp.getSymbol("NamePlate_sym").isPlaying()) {
         comp.getSymbol("NamePlate_sym").stop();
        else {
         comp.getSymbol("NamePlate_sym").play();
       window.parent.document.body.appendChild(symbol);
            </script>
    Once I put window.parent. in the first two lines of code and the last, my test worked. As I mentioned earlier though, I still can't get the syntax correct to .hide() an element (i.e. comp.getSymbol("NamePlate_sym").hide(); does not work), or more importantly, change the innerHTML value of an element on the stage. The code either does nothing or freezes.
    Thanks... Tommy

  • Workflow step (Approve Action) calling custom Java Service and "passing params"

    Good Afternoon, Fellow Coders!
    Normally I research and do proof of concepts until I find a solution but given super tight deadlines, I just don't have time - so I need your help.
    I am trying to have an Workflow Approve Action (Workflow Exit Event idocScript call) call a Custom Component (Java Service) AND "pass" some kind of parameters (bare minimum dDocName)
    In a perfect world it would be as simple as:    processContentInfo(String dDocName, String xMyCode1, String xMyCode2);
    But since I am calling the Java Service from idocScript (via executeService) I cannot directly pass params via the API.
    Is there a simple way to do this??
    It seems like if you can't directly pass params you could at least set them in the managed container (m_binder) and just know to pick them up on the Java side via some DataBinder like m_binder.getLocal(
    Am I missing a simple idocScript function that will let you do this?
    Note: I am NOT executing the Service from a URL so the normal ?param1&param2 -> m_binder.getLocal  solution is no good.
    Also, Bex's book warns about Service Classes "not easily being able to call other UCM Services"....  My Custom Service needs to do exactly that (as well as JDBC and other stuff). Is this really an issue??
    Seems like as long as I have dDocName I could use RIDC to hit whatever I want as long as I know how to use a binder, etc - is there some mystic nuance that prevents this?  Or was he just saying it's hard UNLESS you know RIDC well??
    Any and all quality advice is appreciated!  And please, try to give me a detailed answer as opposed to something vague like "try a Service Handler", I need something I can quickly digest.
    Thanks in advance!

    You can set parameters for the service call by setting Idoc Script variables before you call executeService.
    <$dDocName="TEST12345"$>
    <$param1="09876"$>
    <$param2="ABCDEFG"$>
    These variables are then available via the service DataBinder.
    Here is information about how to execute a service from a custom component. There should not be any issues doing this.

  • Passing array into resultset

    hi,
    is it possible to pass an array into a resultset? if yes please indicate how.
    thank you all in advance

    Hi,
    Sorry for the confusion, here's what I'm trying to accomplish.
    I'm trying to create a report in Crystal Report and use Java as data source. My Java application needs to generate some value and pass them to the report as parameters. After some research I've found that I can use a Java Bean class as data source for Crystal Report that returns a ResultSet. Therefore I'm trying to pass some values in my Java app into the Bean class as array and convert them to a ResultSet for Crystal Report.
    If you know of a different way please let me know, otherwise, this is what I meant by passing array into resultset.
    thanks for your reply,

  • How to pass parameter into extract function (for XMLTYPE)

    I have a table PROBLEMXML with XMLTYPE field xml_column. In this column there are several deffinitions for the problem. There is no max amount of deffinitions and it can be no definition at all. I need to return all definitions for every problem as a string wirh definitions separated by ";".

    Is there is a way to pass parameter into extract function?

    I need to return all definitions for every problem as a string wirh definitions separated by ";".In XQuery, there's the handy function "string-join" for that.
    For example :

      7    <Definition var="var3"></Definition>
      8   </Definitions>
      9  </problem>') xml_column

    12  SELECT j.problem_id,
    13         prob.probid,

    23        passing j.xml_column
    24        columns
    25         probid varchar2(30)  path '@id',
    26         def    varchar2(100) path 'd'
    27       ) prob
    28  ;
    PROBLEM_ID PROBID               DEF
             1 1                    var1;var2;var3

    Not sure if this can help you.
    1) Passing a parameter to a transaction iview (I saw a resolved suggestion)

    2) Passing a parameter from the portal to R3 (helpful info for you)

    Just some info: Portal is basically what the end user can see. What he can do, is still maintain in the backend system. If there are parameters setup already for the user in the backend system (in SU01), then those parameters should still valid for the transaction that the parameters are linked to.
    Hope that helps and award points for helpful suggestions.

  • Passing params to custom tag from jsp

    Hi all, I have a problem passing params back to my custom tag. The tag handler has a "getPageNumber()" method which returns a value. • How to pass params to another class which accepts keyboard input?

    How can I pass params to a stand-alone Java class that, when executed, gathers params using readLine()?
    In other words, MyClass, when executed from the command-line, uses readLine to gather params for program execution. I'd like to test this class by calling it from another class using Runtime.exec("java MyClass") or calling MyClass.main(args) directly. But, how can I simulate the input expected from the keyboard?
    Thanks!

    Alright, so it looks like this:
    proc = Runtime.getRuntime().exec("java Client");
    br = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(proc.getInputStream()));
    bw = new BufferedWriter(new OutputStreamWriter(proc.getOutputStream()));
    bw.write("test");
    bw.newLine();
    But, how can write doesn't seem to be passed to the original client class.
    Suggestions?

  • Deferred Tasks - Passing Variables into Workflow

    Hi everyone
    I am experiencing difficulties with deferred tasks in IDM 8.1. I have managed to create a deferred task on a user, with the task name being ‘Generate Email’. I also passed in an attribute ‘id’, and these can be seen in the user view under waveset.properties.tasks.
