Passing selected members from excel add-in as parameters to calc script

Hi, I m trying to pass parameters to a function in a calcscript(or member formula). The parameters will be members of adimension selected by users(from Excel add-in or Web analysis) atthe run time. For example, a user select years FY04,FY05,FY06 then I wantthese three years to be passed as parameters to my function. How can this be achieved in Excel and Web analysis? Hope to get a reply soon. Removing Members from Excel Add-in (or Smartview) Member Selection Options

The users of my system have write access to some scenarios, read access to others, and no access to the rest. I would like the Scenarios for which the users have no access to not show up in the member selection options in Excel Add-in (similar to how they will not show up in Forms). Our security settings obviously prevent them from seeing the data itself, but we don't want them to see certain Scenarios at all (even the member names). We've dealt with this issue in Financial Reporting by manually specifying what the POV options are, but we can't do the same with Excel Add-in or Smartview.
Is this possible, or are these Add-ins just not smart enough to interpret the security?

I sugget you look at metaread filters. they would prevent users from seeing members they don't have access to (one exception is they might see parents they don't have access to if they are required to navigate to the hierarchy they do have access to

Does EPMA Calculation Manager provide the facility of using any kind of variable which will enable to select members dynamically from row/ column in a Planning webform as we use member variable to select members from Page/ POV?

HP ePrint from excel add-in: Error while getting driver name for printer

Trying to use add-in for ePrint from excel/word I get, "error while getting driver name for printer \\...HP DesignJet 800PS 42 by HP," with an option to select "OK" and that same message repeats with each printer in our network, and then it doesn't allow me to print using the add-in. However, I can print normally to HP Go Web, open up Print and Share, then print it from there. This happens with excel and word. I have Office Suite 2007.

Sorry you are having issues with this printer and the ePrint add-on. There are a couple of questions I would like you to answer please.
1. What operating system are you using? (XP,VISTA,7,MAC OS X)
2. What and how much data are you trying to print?
3. Have you tried to copy and paste the data into a different application or tried using the snip it tool?
4. Are you receiving any .dll errors (mscms.dll)

How to randomly select data from excel using labview.

A very good day to all. I am actually working on a system that will be selecting integer number from randomly generated set of number. If that wouldnt be possible, I would like the system to be able to select number from the set of numbers which have already been randomly generated from excel. kindly help me with the solution. To make myself clear, supposing I have set of numbers from 1 to 10, I want a labview setup that will be picking these numbers one after the other either with replacement or without from excel or self generated. I know this is possible in matlab but would prefer labview if possible. Thanks

Most, if not all, of the languages I've run across have a rand() function that returns a random number between 0 and 1. Getting some other range is up to the programmer. Usual method is to multiply by the range you need and add an offset to adjust the mean. For instance if you need a random number between 200 and 300 the formula might look like " rand()*100+200 ". If you need an integer, you can use the round function (which will leave it as a float with no decimal pportion) or the conversion (to int). All of this is doable and straightforward in LabVIEW. How do I pass selected values from dynamic LOV to Command SQL in Oracle

My environment:
Crystal 11
Oracle 10
I've created and tuned a SQL script for a report. In the Database Expert, I've copied the SQL into a Command. I've modified the Command to create 3 parameters.
I need help with the following:
1) How do I create a dynamic, cascading LOV and associated prompt group for the three parameters defined in the Command?
2) How do I pass the user selected valueS from the prompt group into the Command SQL as limits applied to the query executed against the database?

I have the same problem with same environment .
The main report is having a 2 level cascading dynamic parameters.
I created a sub report with a command as below.

I needs to pass cmbination of B1Name and B2Name from main report. I created a formula like

and How I will substitute this in my command . As I new to Crystal XI help expected.

Saved Selections missing from Spreadsheet Add-in

Hi,
One of my end users is having a problem with the Oracle Spreadsheet Add-In that no-one else seems to be having and I'm at a loss for what to suggest to him.
Yesterday he encountered some network related problem which left it impossible for the Spreadsheet Add-in to connect to the AW on the database. Everybody else that uses OLAP cubes was still able to connect without problems. When he entered the username and password and pressed connect the system hangs for a few seconds and then returns to the spreadsheet without invoking the wizard. Our desktop services team looked at the problem and couldn't resolve it so have re-installed the Spreadsheet Add-In. This has resolved his connection problems and he is able to build his own queries using the cubes.
The problem that he is now finding is that the saved selection criteria that he had previously been using was no longer visible to him. I.e. when he is in the wizard building a query based on a cube, he selects, say, the time dimension, and rather than selecting from the members tab on the left-hand side of the screen, he moves to the Saved Selection tab. It is at this point that he would usually see a list of his previously saved selections - but he doesn't see any folders or selections.
When I reproduce his steps on my computer I see a folder called Users and then another folder with the schema name and then underneath that there are a number of saved selections. I can select these without any problems.
I'm not sure if this problem is related to permissions somewhere or if somehow the installation is incomplete.
Has anyone encountered this before??

The first step to resolving this issue is to check your Analytic Workspace is working. Within AWM can you right click on each dimension and select the option "View data" - make sure you can drill up and down on each dimension. Then repeat this process for each of your cubes. I suspect there is something wrong with either a dimension or cube. If you cannot see data within AWM then Excel will not with either.
If the data viewer in AWM is working OK, then Excel should work as well.

Is it possible to pass selected value from one jsp to another jsp page?

In my welcome page(in jsp), if the user is selecting some values, is it possible to pass those values to another jsp page and display?
If yes, how can it be done?

Yes, you would have to make the motion from one page to the next submit a form. Then on the second JSP you can use request.getParameter("nameOfInputField") to get the value the user selected.

How to pass selected records from one table to another ?

2. The selected data is moved to some other internal table.
3. Internal table is further binded to the node in which data is to be shown.

CALL METHOD lo_nd->get_selected_elements <here selected data is moved to lt_temp>
 RECEIVING
 set = lt_temp.
loop at lt_temp INTO wa_temp.
 CALL METHOD wa_temp->get_static_attributes
 IMPORTING
 static_attributes = ls_node1. <Selected data in work area.>
 APPEND ls_node1 TO lt_node1. < Data moved to internal Table>

ENDLOOP.
Finally Internal table is binded to the node required.
lo_nd1 = wd_context->get_child_node('CN_MAIN2').
lo_nd1->bind_table( lt_node1 ).
In your case , map this CN_MAIN2 with the Component Controller and from component controller you can access data in your second view also.

Pass selected values from a checkbox

hello everybody
i was looking for a similar thread but i couldn't find the answer i'm need, so here's my question.
i have an checkbox populated from a dynamic LOV. it is showing me the correct values, but i haven't been able to receive the selected values on the other page. i always receive the first value.
For example
My options ar: code 1
code 5
code 9
code 10
When I checked 5 and 9 and submit the page (i submit the page to itself), my the values in the URL are siomething like '....%2C5:9', but the only checked value is 5.
How must i send the values to receive them in the correct way? I tried 'checkbox' and 'multiselect list' and they had the same behaviour.

This happens because : (colon) is used to separate parameters in the URL as well.
To solve it, I used the following code in a after submit computation on the checkbox field:
replace(:p500_checkbox, ':', '|') -- value becomes 1|2|3|4 (URL friendly)
Then in a before header computation:
replace(:p500_checkbox, '|', ':') -- value goes back to 1:2:3:4
It worked well, though I am sure there must be a more intelligent way to do it...

Issue in connecting to Essbase from excel add-in. 9.3.1

Hi Experts,
User has 2 servers, eg. a and b,
he is able to connect a and b through laptop - no issues,
but from desktop, he is able to connect only to a and not to be.
Other users from their desktop are able to connect to a and b using the same userid , password
Observations/suggestions ;
- Checked that 1423 port is being displayed for server a but not for b on his machine.
- NetDelay and NetRetry counts are 1000 and 1500 respectively.
- Suggested the customer to add
AGENTPORT 1423
SERVERPORTBEGIN 32768
SERVERPORTEND 32968
PORTINC 1
in essbase.cfg file - but still issue persists.
the issue is machine specific.
Its urgent. Please suggest/advise.

Finding shared members with Excel Add-In

My user is using the "find" feature in the add-in to determine where a particular member resides. This member is found 2 places in the outline (the original and the shared member). The add-in finds the first occurrence, but does not find the second one using the "find next" button. Is this a bug or is there something we are doing incorrectly? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

I, too, would recommend rebuilding the workbook.. Excel workbooks can get some funny behaviors, particularly if they contain VBA code. VBA in Excel stays 'semi-compiled' and never really clears itself out and a bunch of phantom references remain (and are completely hidden). I have seen some very strange behavior cleaned up by rebuilding the workbook..

How to select data from excel within certain range?

hi all, i am having an application where i am reading data from an excel sheet. in my case i am taking the date as an input from the user in range i.e starting date and end date in dd-mm-yy format( or to to from)and then i have to read the data of all dates which come between given range by the user....
how can i do it????

I have the same requirement,
1. Here, the user will provide the range like maximum and minimum values, then the VI should capture the data within the given range. ( from CSV file as attached )
2. Then VI should calcluate the average value for captured data and export it to excel.
This is my requirement can anyone help me on this.

How to add Comma and Tabs in Calc Script Header

Hi,
I need to add in the begging of the report script the following lines:

OPENB

The last line is tab delimited.
The problem is that the TEXT formula ignores commas and tab, so I can't create the last 2 lines.

Issue while performing pivot in Essbase Excel Add in

Hi,
I'm faced with a peculiar issue by which I'm unable to pivot data from excel add-in.
I've verified that the Formula Preservation is disabled. Yet, i get the error 'Cannot pivot while in Formula Preservation Mode'.
I've tried reinstalling many times but the issue persists. Whats wierder is that anything i change in options gets undone once i perform a retrieve. Example, If i select 'Suppress #Missing Rows' option and retrieve any data, when i check back the options, it is deselected. Seems like the options are carried forward(if thats possible)?
