Passing values to another page with %

I have a button that redirects to another page in my application. I am passing the value of one my fields to the target page via <Set These Items> and <With These Values>. The source field has a % at the end of it. When the value gets passed to the target, the % is not passed. Is there a problem passing values with % in them?
Here is the passing parameter list:
Set These Items: P22_DB_NAME
With These values: &P2_DB_NAME.
The value of P2_DB_NAME is "ESB%". When it gets to the target page it is "ESB".

Brian,
you will need to encode the percent sign and use
%25
instead of
Make your button an url and use this link. It will replace the percentage with the encoded value and pass the value to the specified item.
redirect('f?p=&APP_ID:22:&SESSION.::::P22_DB_NAME:'+$x('P2_DB_NAME').value.replace(/%/, '%25'));

  • Javascript: to pass values to another page

    hi all,
    i hav an interactive report. if i clik on a particular row, that row values must be passed to an another page (via javascript)
    i found this forum https://forums.oracle.com/thread/2467579 in which they hav used it for sending mail.
    but i wanted to pass those values to another page throug javascript bz, i hav installed a plugin nd wrking from it under right clik.
    ma  javascript function  is,
    function func(action,el, pos)
       window.location ="http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=71510:2:&SESSION.:::2:P2_X,P2_X2:'+ $(el).children('td[headers="EMPNO"]').text() +  ',' + $(el).children('td[headers="ENAME"]').text()";
    here i hav redirected it to the 2nd page and in the 2nd page i hav used 2 items to get these values.
    $(el).children('td[headers="EMPNO"]').text() +        ------->  this is to fetch the empno of that particular row and similarly for the name.
    but if i click on the right clik button , no action is happening...
    but its working fine, if i use the function as,
    function func(action,el, pos)
       window.location ="http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=71510:2:&SESSION.";
    so somewhere is going wrong in passing the values in URL i suppose....
    and i hav used al d above things in
    http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=71510:1 (username: test / paswrd: pex14gm)
    pls help me out.....
    thanks in advance

    Try like this.
    function func(action,el, pos){
        var empNum = $(el).children('td[headers="EMPNO"]').text();
        var eName  = $(el).children('td[headers="ENAME"]').text();
        window.location ='http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=71510:2:&SESSION.:::2:P2_X,P2_X2:'+empNum+','+eName;
    It looks simple and neat.
    If you still didn't get post me workspace details.

  • Passing values to iframed page with flash chart.

    Hi,
    I'm trying to dynamically generate a series of charts within a sql report.
    In my report i make several calls to a page with a (flash) chart and i pass some values to this page/chart by setting page items through the source url of the iframe.
    The problem is that all the iframed instances of the page in my report display the same data although each iframe sets specific page item values through its source url.
    (only the page item values that were set by the last call to the page are being used by all the other chart instances)
    So why does this happen?
    Are the iframed charts rendered to slow?
    Is this a flash problem?
    Should i call each iframe within a seperate session?
    And does anyone know how to correctly pass values to the iframed page / chart so each instance of the page/chart displays the correct data?
    Thanks
    Niels

    Solved my problem by leaving the SESSION part blank in the src url of the iframe.
    Apex creates a new session for every iframe now, the page items values are not overwritten and the data is displayed correctly.

  • Process - Pass values to another page

    Procedure for passing parameters.
    Hi
    I have a report region on my page, where the each record have a checkbox to reference a Identifier..
    I want to pass all identifiers referring to the checkbox selected to another page.
    For this I created an item called: P20010_NIVEIS_SEL .. I put the values in it and his step to another item on another page.
    But is not working.
    The process is this:
    DECLARE
    BEGIN
      IF htmldb_application.g_f01.COUNT <= 1 THEN
          : P20010_NIVEIS_SEL: = htmldb_application.g_f01 (1);
      ELSE
        FOR i IN 1 .. htmldb_application.g_f01.COUNT LOOP
          : P20010_NIVEIS_SEL: =: P20010_NIVEIS_SEL | | ',' | | htmldb_application.g_f01 (i);
        END LOOP;
          : P20010_NIVEIS_SEL: = SUBSTR (: P20010_NIVEIS_SEL, 2,: P20010_NIVEIS_SEL.LENGTH);
      END IF;
    END;It´s importante say that to pass the parameters I created a branch to another page, where while the contents of an item to another.
    This giving an error:
    ORA-01008: not all variables are limitedthanks

    Hi,
    Quickly I noticed few mistake. I did not test this, but you could
    DECLARE
    BEGIN
      IF apex_application.g_f01.COUNT <= 1 THEN
          :P20010_NIVEIS_SEL := apex_application.g_f01(1);
      ELSE
        FOR i IN 1 .. apex_application.g_f01.COUNT LOOP
          :P20010_NIVEIS_SEL := :P20010_NIVEIS_SEL | | ',' | | apex_application.g_f01(i);
        END LOOP;
          :P20010_NIVEIS_SEL := SUBSTR(:P20010_NIVEIS_SEL, 2,LENGTH(:P20010_NIVEIS_SEL));
      END IF;
    END;Br,Jari

  • Passing value to another form with on demand process

    Hi,
    This is my first post and I am an absolute beginner to apex (using 4.1)
    I would like to pass a value to another form, but to no avail.
    I have an on demand process that is being called when a button is clicked (ISSUE)
    This process is being called from P33 and I need the value to go to P33_ST_NUMBER_HOLD
    DECLARE
      v_rownum NUMBER;
    BEGIN
      for i in 1..apex_application.g_f01.count
      loop
        v_rownum := apex_application.g_f01(i);
        apex_debug_message.log_message('row selected: '||v_rownum);
        apex_debug_message.log_message('value: '||apex_application.g_f03(v_rownum));
        htp.p('$x_Value("P17_ST_NUMBER_HOLD",apex_application.g_f03(v_rownum));');
    end loop;

    FYI - javascript is a client/browser side and it got nothing to do with PL/SQL

    You should close this parameters with single quotation. Try this -

  • How to pass values between two pages

    also see:
    In portlets, how to use a html form passing  values to the another page?
    and
    htmlFormActionLink() method
    in common B/S developing, use html link add with a parameter or some parameters or we can submit it in a form to post values to another page .but how to do these in portal?
    I tried to write the code, but couldn't run at all!
    the provider.xml is still no problem!
    would you be so kind as to help me ?
    thanks!

    Hi Ravi,
            Using the call
    navigation->set_parameter( name='myparameter' value = myvalue ).
    you can set the page parameter myparameter to the value myvalue. This value can then be used for processing in the subsequent page.
    If the form field (in the layout part) and the page parameter are of the type string and are specified by the same name (in this case, myparameter), the following abbreviation can be used:
    navigation->set_parameter( 'myparameter' ).
    Using the set_parameter you can pass only the parameters of type string. If you wish to pass more set of values then you can call a method and then export the values of the drop down.
    Pls reward if useful.
    Thanks.

  • How to retrieve a page item value in another page?

    Hi,
    how to retrieve a page item value in another page?
    say P55_COURSES_TO_EVALUATE is my page item name and it is a select list.Based on the value selected,in the next page i shd show details related to the selected value and for this i need P55_COURSES_TO_EVALUATE value in the next page.How Do I get it?When I try to retrieve the values it simply returns nothing.
    Any pointers would be really helpful.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    Could you please tell how you try use it ?
    If you set value to item P55_COURSES_TO_EVALUATE and submit page, value is saved to session state.
    Then you can use that item in any page like
    :P55_COURSES_TO_EVALUATEYou can not access page value in javascript/jQuery from other pages like
    $v('P55_COURSES_TO_EVALUATE')
    document.getElementbyID('P55_COURSES_TO_EVALUATE')
    $(#P55_COURSES_TO_EVALUATE)Because item is not in other pages. In javascript from other pages you can use
    var a = '&P55_COURSES_TO_EVALUATE.';Regards,

  • How to call & pass values to custom page from seeded page table region

    Hi All,
    can anyone tell me how to call & pass values to custom page from seeded page table region(Attribute is not available in seeded page VO)
    it is urgent. plssss
    Regards,
    purna

    Hi,
    Yes, we do this by extending controller, but you can also try this without extending controller.
    1. Create Submit Button on TableRN using personalization.
    2. Set "Destination URI" property to like below
    OA.jsp?page=/<yourname>/oracle/apps/ak/employee/webui/EmpDetailsPG&employeeNumber={@EmployeeId}&employeeName={@EmployeeName}&retainAM=Y&addBreadCrumb=Y
    Give your custom page path instead of EmpDetailsPG.
    EmployeeId and EmployeeName are VO attributes(Table Region)
    If you dont have desired attribute in VO, then write logic in your custom page controller to get required value using parameters passed from URL path.
    In this case, only personalization will do our job. Hope it helps.
    Thanks,
    Venkat Y.

  • Pass value from one page to another

    Hi All,
    "How to pass the value from one Flex page to anothere Flex
    page".
    In First Flex page contains One Inputtext and one button is
    there.After entering the data in inputtext box,the user clicks on
    the button then get the data from inputtext box and then i need to
    send that value to another flex page and display there.
    Can u tel me plz............
    Thanks & Regards,
    Nagarjuna.

    I believe you are thinking in terms of HTML and traditional
    page coding. As an old school ColdFusion guy I understand it is
    difficult to leave that behind. (at least it was for me.) Unless
    you literally have two different HTML pages that each have their
    own Flex app running in them you do not need to send data from one
    page to the next like you would with Web Forms. (If you are doing
    that you may want to simply write the data to a Shared Object, Pass
    it to a server to store and then feed back into the second Flex App
    when it loads or perhaps use the ExternalInterface to then pass it
    through as a series of URL parameters that can be loaded into the
    next Flex App.)
    In Flex you do not have to worry about loosing state between
    pages because there are literally no pages. Only different views.
    You would not "Send" the value from one page to another. You
    provide a mechanism for the second view to reference the same model
    or data object (most call them ValueObjects) that the first view is
    setting via the form fields.
    You would want to use a ValueObject in the first VIEW and
    then fill the object with the form data using setter methods on the
    object. For example set the fields onChange event to call the
    setter on the object and pass it the form fields value as the
    property. Alternately you could bind the values of the model
    directly to the fields so that they automatically obtain the data
    that is being filled in.
    Depending on how complex of an application you are going to
    build and how scalable it must eventually be you have many
    different options to choose from to allow the second View to use
    the data set but the first. However to make the application
    ultimately more scalable you are going to want to keep your view
    separated from the controller and that separated from the
    Model/ValueObject. (By seperated I mean in different classes.)
    I would suggest looking up the subject of MVC in Flex and
    also the Mediator Design pattern. There are many great sources of
    information.
    Here are a few links that may help with ideas.

  • Passing values between jsp pages

    Hi all,
    I am a newbie to jsp. I am trying to pass value from one jsp to another.
    Let me post the code here and make my point clear. I have 3 jsp pages and am trying to get the value into my 3rd page that was in the first page.
    This is my Test.jsp page:
    <%@page contentType="text/html"%>
    <html>
    <head><title>Test JSP Page</title></head>
    <body>
    <%-- <jsp:useBean id="beanInstanceName" scope="session" class="package.class" /> --%>
    <%-- <jsp:getProperty name="beanInstanceName" property="propertyName" /> --%>
    Testing.. JSP Page
    <FORM action='Response.jsp' method="POST">
    <input type='Text' name='get_name'>
    <input type="submit" value="Click Me">
    </FORM>
    </body>
    </html>
    This is my response.jsp page:
    <%@page contentType="text/html"%>
    <%@page import = "sun.jdbc.rowset.CachedRowSet" %>
    <html>
    <head><title>Response Page</title></head>
    <body>
    <%-- <jsp:useBean id="beanInstanceName" scope="session" class="package.class" /> --%>
    <%-- <jsp:getProperty name="beanInstanceName" property="propertyName" /> --%>
    Thank you... <%=request.getParameter("get_name") %>
    // I want to pass this get_name to my next page, but since request.getParameter returns an object and not a string, how will I capture the value and pass it to my next page.
    </body>
    </html>
    The 3rd jsp page is:
    <%@page contentType="text/html"%>
    <html>
    <head><title>JSP Page</title></head>
    <body>
    // I am trying to get the value of the name here in this page.
    <%-- <jsp:useBean id="beanInstanceName" scope="session" class="package.class" /> --%>
    <%-- <jsp:getProperty name="beanInstanceName" property="propertyName" /> --%>
    </body>
    </html>
    Your help is appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hi,
    Thanks for the reply, it works. I was wondering whether this is an efficient way of doing this. What I want to do further is to setup a connection to a database and use the value I got from my previous page to query the DB and get the results and display.
    I have see some code in the java website and a lot of people do by writting a bean /class(believe bean is just a class) and then importing it and do the things that way. I have good knowledge of OO and Java as a language and would definitely love to do it this way.
    What i think i am missing is the basic idea to doing this way. So if you could let me know how to do this using java classes I would really appreciate it. If its too much to explain can u point to some good source(URL's) that explain's this. I have searched on this and all i find is code with no good explaination.
    Thanks a lot

  • Redirecting an item value to another page..

    Hi,
    I am trying to auto-populate couple of values on page 2 when I click a button on page 1. Tried setting the item values using the comma separated list and also by re-directing to an url. Hit an issue when the values that need to be set itself contain a comma within itself. Could you let me know if there is any other de-limiter that I can use instead of a comma while setting the item values.
    For instance:
    There is a button on Page 58. When this button is clicked, I should be redirected to page 45 in the application and the values in P58_Name and P58_LocId should be auto-populated in P45_Name and P_45LocId.
    Only when there is NO comma in value of P58_Name, this works fine. But, when there is a comma in P58_Name this is what happens:
    P58_Name = Mickey, Mouse
    P58_LocId = 145
    Once the button is clicked on page 58, the fields in page 45 are auto-populated as below:
    P45_Name = Mickey
    P45_LocId = Mouse
    Will there be a way to use a different de-limiter in the comma separated list? Kindly help.
    Thanks,
    P

    the trouble is that the comma in the item name messes up with Apex URL structure, since it uses a comma separated list of item names and values..
    You can set another item with the escaped value of the item in Javascript using the escape function(builtin)
    escape( $v('ITEM_NAME'))or in PSLQL using APEX_UTIL.URL_ENCODE or HTF.encode functions
    and then refer that new item in the Branch instead of the old one one(with commas)

  • How can I pass value between two pages or fragments?

    Hi,
    I am learning ADF nowadays. Now I come across the following problem.
    There are two pages or fragments in a bounded task flow, e.g. PageA&PageB. There is an inputtext on PageA.When I press an button on PageA with an action jumpping to PageB I want pass the value of this inputtext to annother inputtext, which is shown on PageB. Moreover, the inputtext on PageB comes from a ViewObject. How can I achieve this goal? Any ideas or suggestions?
    Best wishes!

    RequestContext requestContext = RequestContext.getCurrentInstance();
    requestContext.getPageFlowScope().put("var_name", value);
    String value = (String)requestContext.getPageFlowScope().get("var_name");
    if you open a new window, the value will be null.

  • Passing data to another page loaded in the same window

    How to pass data from a page to another when new page loading
    takes place ?
    I use :
    window.htmlLoader.load( new air.URLRequest("app:/" +
    htmlfilename));
    I tried :
    window.htmlLoader.addEventListener(air.Event.CHANGE,
    passmonitor)
    but it doesn't work !

    The problem is in passing the variables . As I mentioned
    above,, the following error message gets displayed:
    Can't get property window from undefined value
    The code I tried is
    myloader = window.htmlLoader.load(new air.URLRequest("app:/"
    + filen ));
    myloader.window.somevar = "data";

  • Report: passing values to item page

    on Apex 3.2
    Hi,
    I need help.
    Does anyone knows a way to pass values from a report to a page item?
    This is what i want: when i run a report i want to fill a page item with the value from an item report.
    Thanks,

    Hi Austin,
    Thank you for your reply.
    I've writen a query that gives me the accounting movements.
    In this query the user can pass the rownum because there are about 1million records in the partitioned table.
    But the diference between credit and debit must considered all the movements that are not closed.
    I'm using analitics functions to do that, so for each line the value is already calculated.
    With one report region: If i group and break the report it takes about 13 seconds to display the information.
    If two report regions: One for the movements other for the "Debit: Credit: and Total:". It takes about 6 seconds to display the info.
    Its more fast, but i have to run the query twice. The idea is to run only once.
    The values that i want to pass from report to page items, Debit: Credit: and Total:.
    Is there a way?
    Thanks,
