Passthru Sync? What is this?

Just replaced my old Treo with a Treo 755p (Sprint). Under Applications there is an icon for PassThruSync. When I click on this icon, the Treo does a soft reset. I haven't found "PassThruSync" listed in the User Guide at all. I downloaded Obfuscate so I could hide the PassThruSync icon, but when I launch Obfuscate of course PassThruSync does not show up on the list of applications to hide. Can someone tell me what PassThruSync is, and whether I can delete it without adversely affecting anything else? Thanks in advance!

This has popped up before. Are you using a Mac with MissingSync?
Or did you just install VersaMail?

Dear Apple team,
I recently bought an iphone3GS from USA and jail broke it. Since I heard the there are lots of disadvantages I thought to unlock it officially through the original owner (in copy). He assisted me and confirmed that he unlocked it with AT& T (See the attachment). According to the instructions I restored the phone. But it is not activating with “Activation server is currently not available, please try again or try with iTunes”
When I try with iTunes , it says “you haven’t inserted a SIM” even though I insert the original AT&T SIM.
My current location is Sri Lanka ,so don’t have any apple support.
Please help me to be a good fan of apple.

Your i-device was not designed to be a reliable unique storage for your media. It is not a backup device and everything is structured around you maintaining your media on a computer which is itself backed up. Sync transfer is one way, computer to device, matching the device content to the content on the computer. If the computer has nothing on it, the device is set to match the computer's content -- nothing.The exception is purchased content.

Using a computer, other than the one you have regularily been Syncing and Backing up to, was the begining of your issue.

I had nearly the same problem. I am also a user of UltraEdit from IDM Computer Solutions. Are you? My problem was fixed by adjusting to remove a conflict between the two. (both use same-named DLL but different versions.) If this sounds like your issue, post here and I'll reply with more detail.

Although you say you have let the battery drain, was it for long enough? Since nothing else that you've tried so far has worked, I suggest that you leave the iPod unplugged for at least four days, preferably a week. That way, if something is stopping the iPod from turning the screen on, then whatever it is will drain the battrey. However, since the screen isn't on, that may take longer than if the screen was on.
Then, after that time, plug the iPod into a power source and leave it alone for at least thirty minutes. Only after thirty minutes will it show any signs of life, but you should leave it until it is fully charged before trying to use it.
If you get to this stage, the fact that the battery has drained will cause the iPod to reset when it springs back to life.

If it's a one-time "glitch," you can try restarting your computer with the iPod still connected. Try ejecting again after the restart.
If the problem recurs, you may have a process running (other than iTunes) that is accessing the iPod's storage. When connected, the iPod's "disk" is like other mounted volumes. This process may be some type of utility that continously monitors your mounted volumes for security reasons, such as to prevent access by malware.
If you know of such a program that you have running in the background, there may be a setting to exclude your iPod's disk.
