Password 4 Kingston Micro SD ?

Hi there.
1 : Got a 32 GB kIngston MicroSDHC for my N82. (Brand new. Kingston says it ships with no password on it).
2 : When i plug it in the phone, it says "need password for the memorycard".
3 : i have tried Codes 12345 (nokia default) - 0 - 00 - 000 - 0000 - 00000 - 1 - 12 - 123 - 1234 - abc - sim code also.
4 : When i try a format via the phone, the phone freeze .. It also freeze after incorrect password-try.
Enough with random codes .. Any1 know of a solid and tested solution (code or way of formating) ?
Thx to Ya.
Solved!
Go to Solution.

Solved it myself (if the format, as rumored, removes the PW !).
Solution : On the phone (no memcard inserted, and plugged in via Usb to PC, in Usb connections, "Pc-Suite and allways ask" is selected).
Goto Usb connections (leave window open and then insert memcard) - (no password menu pops up !), then select "Data-transfer-mode".
Now u will have access to the memcard via pc and computeradministration (storage). From here u can run the format.
The format seems to take a long time tho. Guess the R/RW speeds are low.
Take care outthere.

  • Password Nokia Micro SD

    Hello Nokia Community,
I'm having trouble with my Nokia Micro SD card. I forgot the password to access it. If I try to format it, a password requirement pops out. Can anyone help me with this?
    Thanks.

    @Fingolfin
If data valuable to you it might be worth enquiring at local mobile phone repairers, as add-on to ATF Nitro SD reader enables you to crack (brute force) passwords on Micro SD memory cards without losing the data on the card.

  • N95-1 COMPATIBLE WITH KINGSTON 4GB MICRO SD HC CAR...

I wish to know Kingston Micro SD HC 4GB MEMORY CARD compatible with N95-1 ? If insert in, what is the available memory for the card that can be used?

    Update:
I have determined two things since I last posted a concern about using my new 4gb card in my N95-1.
    1) The Mini-USB cable that came with the phone sucks. I changed it to one with ferrite cores on both ends and most of my connection problem went away. No more timeouts.
    2) I reformatted the card, twice with little improvement, beyond the cable change. Then I upgraded firmware to v20, and the issues have gone away. However, there are new bugs in v20 that are annoying, but at least the data reads via PC now.
    3) I took my phone with me from Canada to Europe. Worked like a charm, no surprise as it's a Euro-phone anyway. However, I lost 90% of my mp3's and some database files of installed programs. The pictures and contacts and calendar were all fine. Strange. Seems I only lost some data from the memory card, not internal memory. Perhaps airport Xrays kill the memory card on this phone. Warning for all.

  • E65 and 4gb Micro SDHC card

    Hi out there
I bought a 4gb Kingston Micro SDHC card for my new E65, but the phone don't regognize the card.
Can the card be used with the phone, and if so - how.
My phone has softwareversion 3.0633.69.00 from 06-02-08
    Thanks in advance

The card cannot be used with the E65.
The E65 only supports the micro SD standard so it's maximum is 2GB. 4GB cards are the newer SDHC standard and cannot be made to work on older hardware.

  • Micro SD Corrupt, Mac OS X Can't Read

So I have a 1GB Kingston Micro SD card that was used with a phone. I plug it into a USB Micro SD reader, and the disk of "NO NAME" pops up. I click to see what's inside, but none of the files are there (or at least visible).
I open up avtivity monitor, and sure enough it shows that "NO NAME" has data stored on it and is almost at maximum capacity.
The files inside the card at this point are useless to me, so I go ahead and open disk utility to try and erase it. I select the disk, name it, hit erase, and shortly after I got an error. I don't remember what it was, but something along the lines that it couldn't erase and their was an error of somesort.
I unplug it, and plug it back into my Mac, and nothing pops up. I restarted the computer, and still nothing pops up afterwards. I try it on my friends Mac, and still nothing.
Then I try pluging it into my BlackBerry Bold 9780, and it identifies a card, but whenever it attempts to modify it, I get an error saying it can't. I tried to format using the BlackBerry, but I got another fatal error. I tried to repair it too, but also got a fatal error!
How can I get the card working again? If I can't, please let me know ASAP please. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated, thanks!

I don't have the camera with me right now but first of all, I really doubt manufacturers of cameras also make the SD disks. Second of all, and I'm less sure about this, this seems to be a problem with my laptop and OS X, not the disk itself.

  • Nokia 5233 Storage Question. You need to know this...

Hi, I'm not new to Discussions. PLEASE NOTE BEFORE READING THIS THREAD: I've digged EVERYwhere you can think of, so please have in mind that I come here because I really need to know this, I don't want to double-post anything or start a spam war or something. Thank you.
I was facing problems with my device, Nokia 5233. Sometimes the phone asks for too much time to do a simple task, and I have tried to defragment the memory card to see if it helps, but in the end it made no difference at all.
After that, I was recording a video and it went just fine. The problem happened later on, when I decided to view the video and it was lagging the image. I mean, the image was freezing sometimes but the audio was OK. I recorded another video after that and it had the same symptoms. NOTE: THE MEMORY CARD WAS WITH 1GB+ OF STORAGE REMAINING AVAILABLE TO BE USED.
This is about the stock memory card that comes with the cellphone, 2GB storage capacity, Micro SD card.
After I was told that this is a symptom of the memory card, I wonder if this is supposed to happen with the card that comes with the cellphone. I was **bleep** because I REALLY f***ing need those videos and this turned out to be a real nightmare because when I tried to back up my data using Nokia's software, I ended up with a corrupted file, it was supposed to be a BACKUP and the software just MOVED my SMS messages from the cellphone to my computer and I now can't move it back to the cellphone. But here, my deal is the memory, I changed it to another, higher capacity card, a Kingston Micro SDHC 4GB memory card. And still, I'm facing another issue:
I want to know what is the REAL extended memory capacity for Nokia 5233
I ask this because after googling about it for a few hours, I've found so many different opinions...First a guy said it's best not to upgrade the amount of memory at all, because of my device's limitation, second I read somewhere else I can upgrade the amount of memory up to 8GB and the phone "will still recognize it" and then just when I thought I was done with it, I have talked to Nokia Care on Twitter about it and they said I can be facing 'compatibility issue' with it.
According to his statement, "Unsupported memory cards may just work for small sizes of data, but might give issues wt bigger amounts, depending on the mmc".
That explains the issue with my cellphone's default video recorder/player. But then, again, Is that supposed to happen with a stock memory card?! I guess it's NOT, is it?
AND THEN, AGAIN, NOTE: THE MEMORY CARD WAS WITH 1GB+ OF STORAGE REMAINING AVAILABLE TO BE USED.
So, AFTER recording a 71MB video file, I was viewing it again, kinda hoping it was happening again because this time, it is a 4GB of memory.
I now decided to dig a little bit using Wikipedia, and then I found what I was afraid of:
"Devices that use SD cards identify the card by requesting a 128-bit identification string from the card. For standard-capacity SD cards, 12 of the bits are used to identify the number of memory clusters (ranging from 1 to 4,096) and 3 of the bits are used to identify the number of blocks per cluster (which decode to 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 256, or 512 blocks per cluster).
In older 1.x implementations the standard capacity block was exactly 512 bytes. This gives 4,096 × 512 × 512 = 1 gigabyte of storage memory. A later revision of the 1.x standard allowed a 4-bit field to indicate 1,024 or 2,048 bytes per block instead, theoretically yielding up to 4 gigabytes of memory storage. However the specification specifies 2 gigabytes as the maximum capacity.
Host devices designed before this change may incorrectly identify such cards, usually by misidentifying a card with less capacity than is the case by assuming 512 bytes per block rather than 1,024 or 2,048.
For the new SDHC (2.0) implementation, 32 bits of the identification string are used to indicate the memory size in increments of 512 bytes. The SDCA currently allows only 26 of the 32 bits to be used, giving a maximum size of 32 GB. All SD cards with a capacity larger than 4 GB must use the 2.0 implementation at minimum. Two bits that were formerly reserved and fixed at 0, now called the "CSD Structure", are being used for identifying the type of card, 0 is standard capacity; 1 is high (SDHC) and extended (SDXC) capacity; 2 and 3 are reserved. Older host devices are not aware of this new field thus cannot correctly identify SDHC or SDXC cards."

So in other words, it can be that my device does not recognize my Kingston SDHC 4GB Micro DS Card correctly. Oh I mean the STOCK, 2GB Micro SD card. And POSSIBLY my Kingston SDHC card.
    Is that correct?
What is the storage limitation for Nokia 5233?
Please answer this guys, I hope we can share the knowledge to anyone else who's planning to upgrade the memory for their Symbian-based smartphones.

I don't mean the card class, I just meant the card type. Nokia is SUPPOSED to work out with majority of the cards out there, specially Symbian devices, so you can take the card off of your previous Symbian-based cellphone and then USE IT on another Symbian-based device, regardless if it is SD or SDHC.
Look, I just want to know these:
What is the storage limitation for Nokia 5233?
Is Nokia 5233 supposed to work with SDHC or not?
    Simple as that.

Try to remove it (via app manager) and reinstall it in the phone's memory.

  • Nokia 6500 Slide Micro SD Password Problems

Was having problems with my Nokia 6500 slide so brought it into my nearest repair store and the upgraded the software (so they told me). As you know I lost all my settings and anything in the phones memory but I had taken out my microsd card before this and when I put it back in it was asking for a 'password' which I never had in the first place!!!
Now all my memorable pics and videos seem to be gone forever unless I can open it.
Tried passwords like - 1234,12345,.adgj,00000,5555,9999,password,5y5tem,nokia,memcard etc.
I also tried to open it on my laptop which it kept flashing on and off so couldnt open it!!!
Any suggestions would be very helpful

oh , its been a while , I'd like to thank you all for replying to my query above , ive already got the phone ... no problems of resetting ringtones/themes so far.. unless ofcourse yes you remove the backcover and your tones/themes were stored on the mc , mine are on the ph.memory.
overall good phone.. though it hangs when manual tuning the Radio FM.
I've not got a microsdhc card for it yet.. ok to the above post im assuming it wont take a 4GB KINGSTON microSDHC or it wont take in Kingston as a brand...
I'm going to bite the bullet and try out what Knapjee here tried - sandisk 4gb microsdhc .. though i'd like reassurances.
    Cheers for now ,

  • Micro SD password

    Hello everyone
iam facing a problem with my nokia phone the thing is that yesterday i was messing around on the internet i found a software update for my Nokia E61i so i decide to update my phone, everything worked just fine and new software is working excellent but the problem is that it is asking me now for the Memory card password i don't remember it use to have a pass
is their a default password for the memory or kiss my Data goodbye ?

There is no default code on memory cards.
So it will never ask you for one unless it has been set.
I've seen this hundreds of times and the answer is ALWAYS the same.
After a firmware update this happens because it deletes a file stored on the phone that remembers the password that was once set to the MMC so the phone asks for it again.
Good news is, you have unlimited attempts at entering a code on a MMC, bad news is, it could be a combination of numbers and/or letters
My posts are my opinion and in no way the direct views of Nokia.

  • Downloads to micro sd cards

Is it possible to download my playlists from I tunes or my I pod to a micro sd card and if so how do I do it?

I will be checking about the File Allocation Tale versions/types that will be supported with this unit.
What's the exact issue that you're experiencing? What's the brand and capacity of the micro SD card & card reader that you're using? It maybe an issue caused by the software compression of the USB stick that the unit cannot read or it needs a password.

  • Kingston Value Ram modules on PM dual core 2.0Ghz

    I have a powermac dual core 2.0 with 512mb non-ECC RAM.
I'm searching for memory to upgrade my mac but the only kingston memory modules that i find in every local store i visited match the Part Number KVR533D2N4/X (X = 512, 1, 2, 4), that corresponds to "Value Ram" brand of kingston modules.
I search in the forums about problems with Kingston Value Ram and i would like to know experiences upgrading dual core powermacs with this memory module (KVR533D2N4/X) or other 'Value Ram' memory modules provided by kingston.
    Thanks!
Powermac Dual Core 2.0   Mac OS X (10.4.3)

I've used the Kingston brand on all my mac (ibook 700mhz G3,1.25DDR, 1.25 DP DDR & G5 DC. So far no problem. I recently purchased matched pair of 1gig (2 gi)DDR2 533mhz @ micro center, coast me $235.00. I was thinking about getting a seperate module. But I remember reading somewhere that for trouble free, better get the matched modules. 1gig x 2 per package = 2 gig or 512 x 2 = 1gig. I rather use brand for less head ache (so far).

    Sorry forgot the disk part.
You may have a dirty lens on the optical reader, you can try a DVD/CD cleang disk (available at most places that sell DVD/CD players, some canned moisture free compressed air, or a buisness card wrapped in a micro fiber cloth to try to wipe the lens clean.
    Hope this helps
