Password allowance loop when trying to deinstall/install Adobe CS3 & CS6

I just purchased a new MacPro to upgrade an old MacPro from 2004.
I had Adobe CS3 on my old machine, which I migrated over to my new MacPro.
I went to the Application > Utilities > Add or Remove Adobe Creative Suite 3 Design Premium
to initiate the removal of the software prior to installing Adobe CS6.
Upon opening this application I get a dialog pane that says:
Setup wants to make changes. Type your password to allow this.
The pane disappears, then reappears a fraction of a second later, then loops indefinitely like this. I’ve punched in my password up to 25 times, and it still keeps looping back.
Hoping this was isolated to some fluke of the migration I tried to install CS6 anyway without removing CS3. However, after opening the installation app, then keying in the serial number, I get the same dialog pane with the exact same message.
What can I do to resolve this?
I’m loved in as myself/Administrator, and the dialog reacts differently if I type a different password, so I know it recognizes my password as correct, it just keeps asking for it ad infinitum.

I haven’t tried to install anything else, so I guess I haven’t run into the authentication issue elsewhere. I can login to my accont, which is listed as the Admin, in SysPrefs.
I also spoke briefly to Apple (now they’re unavailable), and the support person had me reassert my Read & Write privledges on the Get Info pane of my Hard Drive, make myself the owner (again) and apply those to all contained items. Once this was done I recieved a slew of errors following this format:
System extenions cannot be used
The system extension "/System/Library/Extensions/*insert multiple extension titles here*" was installed improperly and connot be used. Please try reinstalling it, or contact the product's vendor for an update.
Thanks for taking the time to help with this Linc, it’s appreciated.

  • Error when trying to re-install Adobe CC: Adobe Genuine Software Validation Failure

My subscription expired while away on holidays. I renewed my subscription and have tried to re-install without success. The first issue I had was with administrator permissions on my pc. I have fixed this but now get an error stating that the product I am trying to install is counterfeit. I have searched through Adobe's troubleshooting but I can't see anything that matches this error. My OS is Windows 7. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi avanishdivya
I have followed these steps previously, without success. Step 1 is where I started having problems, where the download stops towards the end stating the product is conterfeit. Regarding step 2: The only other CC product I have is LR. I have followed step 2 and installed updates, then re-attempted step 1 and still receieved the same pop up. I have tried step 3 several times now (including after updating LR), each time it finishes with a pop up to install Winzip (for a fee). I don't understand why I would need Winzip to re-intall a product I was able to install without Winzip originally.
    Any other suggestions?
    Thanks

  • Windows 7 PC error msg when trying to (re)install Adobe Reader

After manually cleaning up my HD to make room, I'm thinking that could be the reason, but I don't remember uninstalling any Adobe products. The error msg is as follows: "Windows installer does not permit updating of managed advertised products. At least one feature of the product must be installed before applying the update". Please help me workaround this to install it properly. Thx

I suggest that you uninstall any remains of existing Reader versions using http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html then download and run the installer from http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/

Well, does it launch manually? Win 8 suppresses auto-starts by default for "risky" files like installers...

My mac keeps asking for a password when I try to install adobe flash player. Even with the hint I'm not getting it and also tried uninstall and the same thing occurred.

It's referring to the MAC password that you have setup.
A software prompts for a password only when there are restrictions set on the user account for unauthorised access to system files and folders.

  • Why is it saying my password is incorrect when trying to download adobe flash?

why is it saying my password is incorrect when trying to download adobe flash?

    Hi,
I assume you are trying to update Flash Player on a Mac machine. If so, please use your Mac system ID and password and not the Apple ID (used for purchases on Apple Store) or any Adobe related ID.
    Hope this solves your problem.

  • When trying to re-install itunes i get error HRRESULT:0x8007054F what does this mean?

I am useless with technology and desperately need help!  When trying to re-install itunes i get error HRRESULT:0x8007054F what does this mean? I have followed step by step guide to de-install then re-install itunes as instructed when i couldnt connect my new ipad to my computer to synchronise it with my exisiting itunes account initially set up with my ipod. I successfully re-nstalled itunes but it wouldnt open and told me to de-install and re-install again.  This has repeated several times and now i get this error message. I dont know what to do next?

    HRRESULT: 0x8007054F
These ones are typically caused by underlying problems on the PC that also often cause Windows Updates to fail to install. If we can fix the Windows Update trouble, we can usually get the iTunes trouble cleaned up en passant.
Go into your Windows update and try to check for new updates. If updates install, stock up on the ones you're behind on, restarting the PC if requested to do so. After the restart, try installing iTunes again. Does it go through this time for you?
If windows updates fail to install, go into your Update History and doubleclick the failures. What alphanumeric codes appear for you? Are they also 8007054F, or some other number? (If they're another number, what number are you getting?)

Apologies if I am using this incorrectly.  My first time here

Hi.  Thanks for coming back to me.  I am using Mountain Leopard (OSX 10.6.8).  Had major problem and have re-formatted my H/D and re-installing software.  Must have lost a file in the process.  Would upgrade to Lion only I have a lot of vital data in Officeworks, but that is incompatible with Lion.

  • Infinite loop when trying to purchase a subscription in the sandbox environment

We have set up a newsstand app with subscription functionality. We are testing the subscription functionality by using test users that have been set up in itunesconnect. When testing, we find that we get into an infinite loop when trying to subscribe to a magazine. After getting the pop-up to validate payment information, we are directed to the app store with a grey box, that looks like it should contain purchase information, but the page keeps reloading and we never get the option to enter this info. Finally a message appears that says the this is a test environment. I have included some screenshots below. Any thoughts?

I was able to unzip the file "Adobe Creative Suite 6 Design & Web Premium MAC.zip" using stuffit expander, free from www.stuffit.com.  I am not sure why the expander native in Mac OSX v 10.9 ("Archive Utility.app") wasn't able to do this (I tried repeatedly for 2 days).  But stuffit expander worked fine and now the software is running...

  • When i try to install Adobe Flash Play 10.3 it asks for something i dont understand, click here.

When i try to install adobe flash player 10.3. it says i need to give my administrative password, i know my administrative password, its just no program comes up to type it in! how do i bring up the program to type my password in to install adobe flash player 10.3?
heres an example of the program that comes up:
                                                      ( whatever goes here i forgot) 100%
                                                      ( whatever goes here i forgot) 100%
                                                       GOOGLE CHROME: 0%
Need Administrative password to continue installatio
This example is not exact but shows a good amount of wat u should understand whoever reads this, PLEASE RESPOND AND ANSWER TO MY QUESTION

It sounds like your Windows OS is either Vista or Windows 7 and the installation is being blocked by User Account Control (UAC).  When you run the FP 10.3 installation file, rather than just double-clicking it, try right-clicking on it just once, then in the context menu that opens, select (left-click once) the Run as Administrator option.
The message you posted is also trying to install the Google Chrome web browser.  Is it your intention to install Google Chrome?  If not, you may want to deselect it.
I did not get a Google Chrome prompt when I installed FP 10.3.
