Password bypass

I was having trouble with corrupted explorer programme so I decided to use reinstall OSX CD, after copying my original system data onto DVD. Touble is when I rebooted system and it asked for my password I realised I couldn't remember it since it had been a while since I'd used password protection. How do I get access to my I-Mac? Desperate for help! Appi.

I was having trouble with corrupted explorer programme
"corrupted explorer programme", appi???? What sort of "explorer" program do you mean, and which particular level of password are you trying to recover? You shouldn't normally need a password when booting from your Mac re-install OS DVD anyway and there can't be much of importance you would have copied to something as small as a DVD in such a situation!

  • Need help with userid/password bypass on iplanet

    Hi,
Here is my scenario. Currently we have iplanet directory server 4.11
on Solaris 7, it is working and we have up to 300 people already in the
database. We have Iplanet webserver on another Sun server connected to
the ldap server and it connects well and passes on to the cgi directory
where an erp software takes over. We are attempting to have a one login
system, and unfortunately we are limited due many issues; but what we
would like to is take a person id and password, go to the web server but
bypass(so the user doesn't have to login twice) the usrename/password
dialog (is this possible?); and still authenticate to the ldap server
via this web server and then let the erp software take over. I don't
know if I am correctly stating is or not, but I hope some has answer.
    Thanks

    Yatrik,
Check out the iplanet software called Directory Server Access Management Edition. You can get the info from their website. The have documentation whcih explains how to do this.

  • Outlook Password Bypass

I recently synched my phone with my corporate email, contacts and calendar. The problem is that everytime I want to use my phone, I need to enter a password. Furthermore, if the password is entered incorrectly one time, the entire phone is wiped!
I have tried installing the LockPicker app, but this doesn't seem to work on my phone. Has anyone else used this app on the Fascinate, and did it work? If it does work, how do you install it (before or after creating the corporate account, etc.)? If this app doesn't work, than can someone tell me how to bypass the password, and use the standard puzzle piece screen for my unlock.
    Thanks!

Try to un-install the application by following the directions below.
From the home screen, select Applications.
    Select Settings.
    Select Applications.
    Select Manage applications.
    Select an Application.
    Select Uninstall.
    Select OK.
    Select OK.

  • IOMEGA home media network hard drive security issue - admin password bypass

Some time ago I analysed the http traffic between the above and firefox so that I could automate the restart process because I wanted to restart the drive about once a week overnight.  This I achieved by writing a simple python program and it seemed to work ok but I stopped doing it after a short while.  Many months later I have returned to this and found that the conversation has changed.  The redirection that used to occur has gone and I can now restart my drive without the need for a valid administrator password and I have done this both from a computer on my lan and also via an external  no-ip free dns domain name.  Note that any attempt to access the drive via a browser still requires a valid password.  My original drive was at firmware level 2.063 and this one (a replacement under warranty) is at 2.064.
Has anyone come across this problem and has anyone any idea how to fix it?
Happy to post my python code if required.

Thank you for the reply.  I followed your advice.  I guess the upgrade worked ok because the device now says its at the right level, it removed the admin password (which I then re-instated) and a robots.txt file has appeared in the FTP folder.  However, a couple of things didn't work as advertised:
    1. When I tried to turn on remote access it just hung and I had to reboot the device.  It subsequently resolved itself after a couple of reboots and when I wasn't looking.
    2. When I tried to access the folders through a browser I was presented with a greyed-out 'public' user, for which I did not have a password, and this only resolved itself when I added a new user, which led to another problem ...
    3. I cleared the passwords on a couple of users because I wanted to change them.  No way could I get a prompt for a new password - followed the instructions in the manual - so I ended up deleting them and recreating them from scratch.
Now then, has this fixed my original problem?  Not really.  The situation is that when remote access is enabled then my program in its current form doesn't work (but I would need to see if I could make it work).  If remote access is disabled and I get my router to port-forward, say 8000, as 80 to the iomega then my program still works fine and I can do a restart or shutdown without the admin password.
Obviously now that I have this program worked out I can go on to do other admin tasks remotely.
I'd appreciate any further ideas you might have.

  • HP Pavilion m6-1205dx - BootUp Password bypass

Hi.  I just bought a used Pavilion m6-1205dx with windows 8 and the previous owner does not know the logon password any more.Since the prior owner did not make any backup system disks, I am trying to reset the machine to factory settings but I do not know how to get through the initial system Password to launch Windows. Is there a key sequence to get me to the System RE-imaging section of the HDD to reset the laptop back to original factory settings? Thanks.

OKay.I've discovered it through trial and error.  On my own. During Bootup, Press the ESC key while pressing the three keys on lower left of the keyboard:Ctrl+Alt+{windows key}Hold them all down until you see the prompt to either reset ALL THE DATA or another option.Go with the RESET ALL DATA and it will guide you through other prompts to reset to factory settings.

  • T61 password bypass or reset

Last week tried altering password, instead changed wife user aqcct password and admin acct locked with an unknown password.  I can prove we purchased this computer in 2008, not a issue of theft or sketchiness.  As computers are used for, we have many files that we would rather not lose by resetting computer but if only way then we will have to deal.  Sooner or later we will need admin user acct controls so looking for your help please!!!!

Assuming you have tried entering your "old" known passwords, blank password, adjusting for caplocks / numlocks etc., you  need to remember what was entered.
As long as you don't have an unknown HDD password set in BIOS, which you can remove should you have a known one, you could attach the hard drive to another system and copy your important files before running a recovery or a new installation.
Sorry, but I have to lock this thread.

  • How to reset the forgotten Windows user account password

I need Toshiba password reset! How do I reset Toshiba laptop? I would be appreciated if you help me Toshiba password recovery, etc. Well, so frequently to meet these problems in our lives. Today, we together share some ways to reset Toshiba password.
Solution1: Toshiba recovery disks help reset lost password
It only works if we created the recovery disks or CD before we forgot the password. The following listed are the steps to reset disk for Toshiba Windows 7 recovery:
    a. Start PC, log on Windows 7 and insert an USB flash drive into the driver.
    b. Start -> Control Panel -> User Accounts and Family Safety -> User Accounts -> Create a password reset disk.
    c. In welcome screen click Next and select the inserted USB flash drive, click Next.
    d. Input the login password in the password field and click Next. When progress indicator shows 100% complete, click Finish to exit. Remove the USB driver from PC.
The method is similar to create a Toshiba recovery CD. Now, the Toshiba Windows 7 password recovery disk is ok. Put it in a safe place for people may use it to reset your password.
Steps to recover password with created Toshiba password reset disk:
    e. Click Reset Password in the Windows 7 logon window,
    f. Insert the created Toshiba recovery USB disk into the USB driver interface, and click Reset password" to open Password Reset Wizard. Click Next to continue.
    g. Choose this USB disk recovery Toshiba from the drop down box. Click Next to continue.
    h. Input a new password and re-input it again to confirm. Click Next and then Finish to close the wizard.
Solution2: Reset Toshiba laptop by accounts with administrator rights
If there is default or built-in admin account or other accounts with administrator privileges and rights, we can use it for Toshiba password bypass. Take Toshiba XP recovery as example:
    A. Boot system from Safe Mode by pressing F8 when PC stars.
    B. Access PC with the available account with administrator rights and privileges.
    C. Start - Local Users and Groups lusrmgr.msc in the Search box ENTER - Local Users and Groups - choose Users.
    D. Right click the account with unlocked password, select Set Password and then input and confirm the new password.
Solution3: Reset Toshiba password with burned ISO image file
We can burn an .iso image file into a bootable USB disk or CD/DVD and reset the forgotten password easily and quickly. Take one of the most popular Windows password reset tool Ainorsoft Windows Password Recovery as example:
    a. Download the program from an accessible PC;
    b. Burn its .iso file to a blank CD/DVD or USB disk;
    c. Bypass the lost Toshiba password with the burned CD/DVD on the locked PC.
Things will not be tricky if we know the methods for Toshiba password reset once we forgot Toshiba laptop password! Please also remember to share them with your friends!

Thanks for sharing this but you are talking always about Toshiba passwordthis is wrong and I think this could be a little confusing this is a workaround for windows user account password.
As far as I know there are no password set by Toshiba.
The user can set the windows user account password if necessary so this workaround describes how to delete a Windows user account password which is common for all computers with preinstalled Windows OS.
    However, thanks for posting ;)

  • Unknown Firmware Password prompt after deleting Bootcamp

I bought a MacBook Pro second hand last year. The previous owner installed bootcamp on it and I tried getting rid of it to no avail. When I shut it down and tried to turn it back on I just got the folder with the question mark, presumably a startup disk issue. When I try the reset shortcuts and resetting pram it just shows a firmware password entry, of which I don't know. neither does the precious owner. Ive brought it to the apple store to see what they can do but they said they can't do anything without original proof of purchase. Neither I, nor the original owner has the receipt. So, I have a paperweight that runs and is a password away from working. Help?

    Hi Boudewijn,
I personally haven't seent this behavior as of yet. I've done 6 upgraded on the SX300 series and 4 on the SX500 series. The good news is, there is nothing lost if you have the ability to console the unit.
If you console the unit there is a password bypass option
    1)Bits per seconds: 115200
    Databits: 8
    Partiy: None
    Stop bits:1
    Flow control: None
    2) Reboot the switch, just unplug the power and plug it back in
    3) When prompted, press ESC
4.) I beleive it is option 6 that is "password recovery"
Once you choose this option, the switch should boot as normal and you may sign in without the admin password.

  • SG300-28 Forgot Password

i have a SG300-28 switch here but I do not have the password to login the device. From the startup config of the switch, I see the login password is encrypted. Are there anyway for me to access the device without reset it?

Hi Blue, yes there is a password bypass procedure.
    You will require console access.
Follow the first part of this document
    https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-27000
Step 1, 2 and 3 and notice on step 4, instead of option 1, use option 3.
After this, the switch will boot up normally then you should just be able to hit enter to get pass the password.

  • Error while installing SAP MMC

    Hello All,
Iam trying to install SAP MMC where Windows userid/pwd  to be created is SAPServiceF03/abc123. In my company because of the password security policy I cant create a password abc123 for the windows OS user SAPServiceF03. The installer aborts the installation with the following error -
    <b>create Service user:  SAPServiceF03
    with password:        abc123
    with options:         /add /WORKSTATIONS:B41F090
The password does not meet the password policy requirements. Check the minimum password length, password complexity and password history requirements.</b>
Please help ASAP..Is there any work arounds?
    Regards,
    Dhanya

    Hi,
    Thanks for your response!
The installer expects userid and password only in the format SAPServiceF03/abc123. Is there any xml file, where we could edit the password bypassing the windows set password?

  • External System Authentication Credentials Best practice

We are in the process of an 5.0 upgrade.
We are using NTLM as our authentication source to get teh users and the groups and authenticate against the source. So currently we only have the NT userid, group info(NT domain password is not stored).
We need to get user credentials to other systems/applications so that we can pass that on the specfic applications when we search/crawl or integrate with those apps/systems.
We were thinking of getting the credentials(App userid and password) for other applications by developing a custom Profile Web service to gather the information specific to these users. However, don't know if external application password is secured when retrieving from the external repository via a PWS and storing into the Portal database.
Is this the best approach to take to gather the above information? If not, please recommend the best practice to follow.
Alternatively, can have the users enter the external system credentials by having them edit their user profile. However, this approach is not preferred.
If we can't store the user credential to the external apps, we won't eb able to enhance the user experience when doing a search/or click-thorugh to tthe other applications.
    Any insight would be appreciated.
    Thanks.
    Vanita

    Hi Vanita,
So your solution sounds fine - however, it might be easier to use an SSO Token or the Plumtree UserID in your external applications as a difinitive authentication token.
For example if you have some external application that requires a username and password, then if you are in a portlet view of the application the application should be able to take the userid plumtree sends it to authenticate that it is the correct user.  You should limit this sort of password bypass to traffic being gatewayed by the portal (i.e. coming from the portal server only).
If you want to write a Profile Web Service, the data the gets stored in the Plumtree Database is exactly what the Profile Web Service send it as the value for a particular attribute.  For example if your PWS tells Plumtree that the APP1UserName and APP1Password for user My Domain\Akash is Akash and password then that is what we save.  If your PWS encrypts the password using some 2-way encryption before hand, then that is what we will save.  These properties are simply attached to the user, and can be sent to different portlets.
    Hope this helps,
    -aki-

  • Login Screen freezes after Lion 10.7.2 upgrade - needs 3 hard reboots

Just upgraded my 21.5" late 2009 iMac to OS X Lion 10.7.2.
    0. Power up from cold start: login screen appears, and mouse works, but clicking on users does not bring up the password box.  No option except for hard reboot.
    1. Hold down power button until it shuts down.  Power up, still no respponse (see 0.).
    2. Hold down power button until it shuts down.  Power up, still no respponse (see 0.).
    3. Hold down power button until it shuts down.  Power up, responds normally, can login (or start computing if login screen is bypassed).
I saw messages (mostly for MacBook Pros) dating back to July/August 2011 with similar problems.  But none for 10.7.2, and none where it consistently takes 3 hard reboots to get a response.  I tried all of the suggestions that applied: SMC reset, repair disk permissions, change password, bypass login screen. If I use automatic login, it boots up into my desktop and all the services seem to start.  The mouse works, but nothing responds when I click on it (see 0.).
    Any ideas?
    thanks,
    david

Thanks lynque.  It turns out I did need a keychain repair, but that didn't fix the problem.  I probably should have done this earlier, but I ended up unplugging all peripherals (2 firewire + 3 USB) then powered up without issue.
So I shut down, plugged in one at a time, and ran into the problem again after plugging in an external hard drive (WD My Book Essential).  I repaired with disk utility, but the problem remained.
I then rebuilt the partitions with Disk Warrior, and now everything seems to work....

  • Locked bios

Last night tried to fix Friends antique I Series. First swapped out the failed hard drive booted it and got error that battery was bad or dead. I thought it meant the little 3 V batt. Booted again and now it stop's at the IBM Thinkpad screen with F1 for bios AND something I have never seen. In the top left corner is a little computer looking symbol and a pad lock symbol.
I tried F1 & F12 every way I know. Tried esc but get a X beside the lock. I tried All 0's but get a X Tried 0123456 and almost every other cluster of numbers to un lock but after a couple try's I get a stop sign with a hand in it and a line threw it.
I don't know how the password got turned on or what it may be. I figure it must be a factory preset password. Can anyone help me get this poor old thing up and surfing again.

    Welcome to the forum!
As far as I know, there's no factory pre-set password, and forum rules prohibit password-bypass discussions.
    Locking thread.
